I'm 27, a recent MBA Grad, Cum Laude Grad. My problem? After 3 months of "vacation", I'm still jobless. My father works for one of the largest holding company in the country. He is respected and well-known in his industry. Concerned as he is, he wants me to work with one of their companies and he will help me get in. But, I dont want to be hired just because of my father's name. :( What I really want to do is go abroad and work there. Still my protective father would not let me go (does not want to renew my visa at all) because he thinks that I cannot make it in the U.S. So, should I accept his help and work with him or not?

What kind of job is available for you in your father's company? If your father had nothing to do with your getting hired, would you take the same job?
Do not confuse the decision process with so many considerations. Evaluate the job first, and consider the other factors later.

Just a few thoughts...
At 27 years old, you are old enough to apply for a US Visa on your own. Before getting a working visa, you can go there on vacation and do "recon." From here, you can already start looking at prospective companies.
The paradox of working abroad is that to get a good job abroad you need work experience abroad. To get that work experience you need a job that requires.... you get the picture.
Work experience here is better than no experience at all.
Best of luck.
May Angels smile upon you,

join your dad! believe me it is better to have your own than be slave by someone else all your life!
unless you really hate that job, take it. try to learn much from your dad then show him later you can manage it alone. am sure you can.
