Between a web producer, web content manager, webmaster, web specialist, web applications programmer, web-design, web-ano pa ba?

Alin ang pinaka-saleable? And what do you think fits my description, kasi hindi ako familiar sa mga titles in IT?

I basically do web design (using Lotus notes as a platform); I can understand a little bit of javascripts (pero do you actually have to memorize the codes to be a good programmer?) but I do a lot of web content development and management (putting together what you see on the web and thinking of ways and means of increasing traffic on our website)

Can I honestly say that I am an IT guy? Is my experience valid as an IT professional? (Because until now, I think my line is Marketing Communications. It just so happens that my medium is the web. So I want to know what would be the best "web-_ _ _ _ so I can increase my marketability. Kasi baka mamaya, iba na pala ang ranggo ko pero nakalinya pa rin ako sa Mar Com.

Thanks for your help.

Between a web producer

web content manager
Sort of like an editor with some skills in using a content management system.

webmaster
all-around head honcho for the web site.

web specialist
where the hell did this come from? network security? hardware expertise?

web applications programmer
guy who makes web aps, like forums, Ecommerce, database interfaces and such things.

web-design web-ano pa ba?
interface designer, graphics, etc. usually a graphics designer with a good grasp of the technical limitations provided by the web.

Web ap programmers are needed. But it helps having some knowhow about everything. I can explain each and every aspect of web production well enough to manage a commercial-scale site, but I am not necessarily an expert in all of them. So that just makes me a smart-a$$ I guess. :D

I don't really like those self-proclaimed titles. For me, there's Web Developer, as the ones who do codes, Java, CGI, Perl, ActiveX, ASP, JSP, PHP, SQL or anything that needs to be written in codes that the computer understands. The there's Web Designer, as the ones who do graphics, animations, or anything regarding the sites aesthetics or overall "look". Webmasters, I think, are actually one of those two. How the heck would you maintain a site if you do not know how its written/designed? If you're the guy who pulls it off together, you're better off labeled Project Manager. Building a website is a project, do you realize that? From writing the purpose of the site to actually building the site and then deploying it and observing its impact to the web audience is a work of a lot of people. But even though you are the Accountant that performed the feasibility study or comnputed the cost-benefit analysis of the site, it does not make you an IT Professional. I know you said you have a touch of everything, but you have to ask yourself. What do I mainly do? Where is my skills best utilized? Developing? Designing? Management?
