I took a 3-unit actuarial subject, and I thought it was kinda weird. I didn't like the course at all, all those formulas and stuff. To minor in actuarial science, I was supposed to take another 3-unit course, but with the disappointing experience in that first course, I opted not to take it. However, there might still be a chance that I'd get back to it.
Can anyone please tell me whether or not it's good to pursue Actuarial Science?

Limited career opportunities but the actuarials who work in the insurance industry are compensated pretty well. I would take it if I were you - if nothing else, use it as a hedge. Besides, this is the kind of challenging thing that would look good on your CV.

children of the rare breed! hehehe
kasi konti lang ang kumukuha nito & only four schools offer this (up, amdu, ust, dlsu)
& before you to be called a fellow (a real actuarian) you must pass like 10 tests that is quite costly..
& limited opportunities nga...

muntik na rin akong mag-AS but I opted to take operations research na lang so that it would not be much of a formula ek-ek kind of course. but even if you graduate with an AS major, there are still other opportunities. you have a bs math degree which means you can shift to IT.
