For Netopia, it looks like it is. They have currently 40 branches(5 in the provinces) and will expand to 50 by end of year. Guess partnering with ePLDT is the key. I think they do give out franchises.

Broadband seems to be a good idea...:) but how much capital will it need?

You know in the province, most internet cafes connect to 33K-56K dial-ups and charge only P20-P30/hr.

If I use broadband, how much should be charge per hour? will that (broadband connection) work in the province?

dont charge higher
pantayan mo lang
just add more computers
unless of course gusto mo upper class ang dating nang shop mo
but you will alienate the cd crowd
karamihan nang customers mo is teacher/student/relations with ofw/ or casual chatters.

some say no!some say yes!ang sa akin lang ok pa,kasi dami pang taong nagre-rent,maraming tao wala pang computers.yung iban naman internet cafe's nache-change sila ng venue o kaya ibang business ventures gaya ng video editing.pero ok pa naman internet cafe.nakaka-survive pa naman nowadays.basta importante upgrade ka ng units mo yearly para naman di ka mahuli sa trend ng computers,ok ba?

personally i think location is very important. if you have a good location, you'll get good returns on your investment

of course important rin yung day to day tasks of your business; your processes, etc etc. the typical stuff.

but if you're asking whether or not net cafes are a "sunset industry", well it depends i guess on how you run a business. a lot of things will earn naman if you run it right.

profitable ba netopia? just because they're expanding franchises, doesn't mean its a good business. but i really don't know how well they're doing.

hmm, with all these prepaid cards in the market having rates such as P100/9hours? not anymore...they used to be very profitable when the only internet card available was super.net.
I remember a cafe that used to charge P90/hour, but now the rates have gone done and sa mga malls it's like P25/hour na lang.
But I still think it depends on the location din, ok sa mga provinces and boarding houses where people would normally rely on computers as a medium if communication.

But if you are planning to put up an internet cafe NOW, hmmm, think about it first, madami na kaseng nagsara kahit pa sa university areas sila.

where do you plan to set up your Internet cafe? sa gaming humihina dahil may mga iba quit na sa Counter-Strike. Internet Cafe is a business na hindi mawawala kahit na after 5 years, but the profitability, hindi na ganun ka taas.

Massive Multiplayer Online Gaming - a large game which never ends and which can accommodate many players simultaneously. Unlike Counterstrike which requires some serious bandwidth to deliver a satisfying user experience, some MMOGs can function adequately over internet connections as slow as 9600bps.

Depending on the type of game deployed and the marketing program utilized, MMOGs can be cultivated to become an important user of already available local internet infrastructure.

hello to all!

I just want to ask, magkano ba net income ng isang computer shop [internet rentals, typing, gaming, scanning, printing etc] or *** gross profit monthly. I just want to know kung magkano pinaka malaki or pinaka maliit na kita ng isang inet-cafe.

Salamat ;)

please help naman dyan o, i need to know ASAP (im planning to buy it kase, ready na at operational na yung computer shop) they gave me their record list ng gross at net income nila every month at mga expenses nila every month. At nakalagay doon, pinaka mataas na gross profit nila is 90k a month tapos ang expenses **** nila in a month ay umaabot na 50k at least kasama na dyan *** rent sa space, electric bill, salary sa tauhan etc etc... so umaabot at least 30k ang net income nila. I just want to know kung ganito ba ang computer shop ngayon? btw, the shop is located near school

Please help:(

lupuS: great idea! They mostly play RagnarokONline (http://www.ragnarokonline.com) .

The problem is, pano kaya ito miintroduce ang ganitong type of gaming sa mga die-hard counterstrikers?

I think if they're playing games with RPG elements like Warcraft, they could be moved onto MMRPG...

how much ba charge nila per hour?

at 11k, divided by 28 computers, that's 392 pesos earned per computer. If they charge 40 pesos per hour, that's 10 hours occupied yun computer. Lagi bang puno yun Netopia? How do they reach that 11k?

Tharaki

puno lagi.

Just wondering how come they want to sell that cafe when their income is 30K?

I hope you haven't bought the cafe yet because my advise is that, why not see it for yourself first if that cafe is really profitable? I mean you go to the place, observe the flow as if you are now the owner of the cafe and ask the management if they have other source of income aside from the cafe. Baka meron din silang computer sales and service kaya malaki ang kita.:)

i still have other choices pa, as of now ginagawa ko muna is maghanap ng magandang location para sa shop. wala kase ako makita ngayon wala akong makitang available. eniway *** shop na sinasabi ko hindi ko pa binibisita baka w/in this week medyo bz din kse at saka malayo ** sa amin yung place nung shop. The shop is located at AMA University Rizal.

thanks for the advice tarsius.
