since this is the working filipino thread, i'm sure a lot of us have dealt with unprofessional companies, persons and such. what are your experiences? what happened? how was it solved?

unprofessional can mean stuff like, madaya sila, abusado, uncompromising, unethical, etc. etc.

UCPB Guadalupe is a home to a lot of sarcastic & rude people. Last June 6 my cousin and I went there because she needs to pay her tuition fee. She's from DLSU-CSB by the way. Tapos eh she was just asking kung panu magpay ng tuition fee using the UCPB system without really meaning to pay pa. One guy teller checked her atm and discovered that the check she deposited was not yet cleared and the sarcastic guy said "Eh wala pa palang laman 'to eh!"
She went there again with me making sure that the chack was already cleared. She was asked to sign a form and then realizing that she's from CSB and not from DLSU main, she was asked to sign a different form kaseh pang Main daw un. Tapos this eshtuppid girl ROSE MIRANDA said "eh bakit kailangan pa ng ibang form eh pareho naman la salle yan?! Kaseh kapag taga-CSB bobo!!" Imagine the nerve of that woman!! And were just a few feet away from her tapos sasabihin niya na hindi niya kameh nakita!! Eh bulag pala sha eh kung wala lang yung bar dun sa harap namen eh kayang-kaya na namin sha hablutin!
My point is, no on has the right to say that against a person or against any institution. The school or the reputation of any institution doesnt necessarily mean na lahat ng andun eh ganun na! Ang kapal niya to utter words like that to my cousin!
TO MS ROSE MIRANDA, you don't know kung sino yung sinabihan mong bobo! she slap all her achievements to your face and i would bet na wala pa yun sa kalingkingan ng na-attain mo. Para sa isang tao na mas matanda, working...wala kang modo! You do not have the right to stay in a reputable institution such as UCPB and if I know...baka ikaw kung san2 ka lang gumraduate!! :bash:

ang kapal naman niya. Although hindi ako taga La Salle, pero she has no right to utter that words.

Anyway, I advice you to write a complain to her immediate superior and make it sure that the Human Resources department of UCPB has a copy para magawan siya ng disciplinary action.

I worked in am australian laboratory where in we are not allowed to:

1. Speak in tagalog, even if there are no aussies around
2. Laugh
3. use red pen
4. walk fast ( as they say walk like a king or queen)
5. decide even in minute details
6. use the phone for personal reason for more than two minutes. Every Friday, all numbers that you dialed will be printed and will be asked why did you call that number.
7. all phone conversations are recorded
8. the president designs your work station.
9. also we are not allowed to eat red food.

I stayed in that company for only seven months. Hindi ko na kaya ang ganung system.

Medyo understatement yung "unprofessional". Mas accurate yata ang "criminal". Unang-una, wala yatang legitimate forex company dito sa pilipinas. According to law, you need a secondary license to trade futures / currencies / whatever, which obviously the company didn't have.

Sinungaling sila. Sabi nila tri-ni-trade ang funds pero actually, wala namang kumikitang accounts. Yung pera napupunta nalang sa bulsa ng may-ari.

At medyo may mga NBI record pala ang mga boss...

sounds like some of the peple working in public government offices :) but at least its a bank and you can always complain to the manager. if you know someone from the main office, maybe you could even escalate it to HR.

A friend of mine applied for Barista last June 2000.

He only lasted for 4 days. Why? They asked him to leave.

I don't know if it was ignorance on the part of my friend, but apparently, Starbucks folks get intimidated if someone brainy and upscale comes in their institution. And this came from the GM herself, calling the incident as "reverse discrimination" - where the majority discriminates the minority.

The whole incident began when my friend started becoming the star student in their training batch. According to my friend, he was answering most of the questions and giving sensible queries and business-wise / profitable suggestions during training seesions. What can the guy do - he had a brain, he gratuated from a good business school, and they where asking for it.

Then, on the 3rd day, one of the training staff told him that he was good and may consider being transfered to marketing because they were looking for a marketing assistant. The trainor then gave instructions on who to talk to. Please note that it was their suggetion.

So the next day during one of their breaks, my friend did talk to that certain "Tin" who was acting like the head trainor - telling her that he was advised of a possible "better opportunity."

Before the day even ended, my friend was called in the GMs office. And he was being fired. Reason being, "he just did not fit." Being his first job and to avoid labor hassles - he then settled for a resignation.

After giving his resignation, the GM then opens her mouth telling my friend everything - the comments and the persons who gave it. One generalization even came from a certain "Dang" who only got to train my friend once. My friend was described as "flashing knowledge." And that incident of him talking to that certain "Tin" was used against him.

The GM then gives my friend advice, that he will be appreciated in more "cut throat" "climbing the corp. ladder" "competitive" companies, like "Caltex." And that she was very sorry for what had happened.

The GM could have done her job better if she really knew what she was doing. Plus, if my friend were crazy, it was a labor lawsuit waiting to happen. It looked like the GM was clueless totally clueless herself.

Back then I really pittied my friend, because the incident really took a lot from him. His self esteem really plunged rock bottom. But come to think of it, we (his friends and his family) were all against that decision of his- coz true enough he did not fit. Coz he can do way better than Barista.

How about I lasted only for a week?

They held office in a condo. The workplace was a round dining table where the guys place their laptops and share a single and slow dialup connection. They gave me a PC with a faulty modem so I instead, I had to 'borrow' someone's laptop just so I could finish my work.

My test phone was not company property, it was a phone borrowed from the owner's cousin! Pathetic. But the best part is that they do not know how to deal with clients and always like to revise on the last minute. There were times when I'm just starting to modify something, may bago na naman revisions at natataranta pa sya habang sinasabi nya sa akin.

The pay is good but I just couldn't take it.

I'm working for a digital printing company. Been there since July. I am planning to leave 15th of October. I can't stand the system. To think the company is big and has been in existence for around ten years. It has branches at Megamall and Glorietta.

i don't want to sour-grape kaya i'll just leave it at that.

Ayoko nang ganitong life! Employers should learn how to value their people for all their worth.

Beware of the MONARCH Rent-A-Car in Sampaloc Manila . The incident happened about a year ago. Me and my husband rented a car from their office, but the car we rented broke down on the way to our destination. The engine overheated and then we got stranded on the north luzon expressway in the middle of the night. We called their office to inform them of what happened to us, but the guy said that we just look for a mechanic and they will refund whatever cost that might incur. We looked for a mechanic, and was able to drive the vehicle back to their little, unkempt office (you can't even call it an office, cause it's just a small apartment).
They would not even refund the money we paid them (which is around 5,000 plus the gas which cost us 500). Telling us that it was our fault. That we shouldn't just return the car and that the car has no problem when they rented it to us. Well infact, we called them before we leave informing them the car wouldn't start up. So they send a mechanic to fix the problem. I knew there was a problem because one of his staff told me about what they found out. After I told JOSE PALACIO, the manager, of what his staff told me, he forbid me to talk to anyone from their office except for him. That fat ******* is so rude.
So to anyone of you, if ever you will need to rent a car, just go to rent-a-car companies like BUDGET, AVIS, etc. I've learned my lesson the hard way. I was wrong in contacting them for their service. (Actually, i saw their ads on the yellow pages, i don't really know the company well)
BEWARE of doing transactions with MONARCH. You might only ruin your vacation, as what happened to us. I filed a complaint to the LTFRB, but they said that I had to go to the police. Since I was running out of time (since i'll be leaving the country soon), I was not able to file the complaint. Just beware of this company. They are so unprofessional, and the cars that they lease are not reliable.
