how much capital are you willing to risk?

if you have enough capital, you can consider getting a franchise business. try getting a copy of this month's Entreprenuer -Philippines. they have a list of a locally available franchises.

Magtayo ka ng KTV. Yung mas mababa ang presyo kesa Music 21 at IO. At yung walang GRO. :D

well, i can think of one thing that you can enter
with minimum investment... well actually halos wala.
just your time and effort lang....

subukan mo sa sales.
mag ipon ka muna ng capital.
am an sales agent selling preneed as sideline...
maganda ang kita pag masipag ka.

sideline na nga... walang quota. safe ang service
(3 years na ako dito) walang cash outlay except that you invest time in learning.

am earning 3,000 to 12,000 per client.
nasasa iyo na kung ilan client gusto mo kada buwan.

You gotta check the law on that. I don't know about soap but with detergents you would need a "congressional franchise" to legally manufacture it here. Yes, there's a little known law to block entry of new detergents into the market as a friend of mine learned about it when he ventured into it.

gusto mo mag business pero di mo alam kung ano?

then stop wanting a business. its not for evrybody.

you start a business becouse you know what you want and youll do anything to accomplish it. its the desire , determination that will get you thru the day.

hundreds of people have told me that they would have wanted to start a business if they would have had a chance.

have a chance!!!!!!!!!!!! everyday you get chances everyday you wake up and theres ur chance to start a whole new life. its all up to you on how you would want to make of it.

i tell you there are boatloads of cash to be made in the philiphine market. most people just dont have the insight...... or rather the will to see it. they just see things as it is and walk along in their marry lives and never have an after thought of the possibilities.

wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
seize ur oppurtunity seize ur day. make something out of nothing and see how much pleasure it gives to be able to build something great.

There's nothing wrong in asking for suggestions regarding what business you should start, but in my opinion, you should primarily ask yourself what kind of business you are willing to invest your time in. You should choose a field where interests lie in. Don't get into a business just because you think it will be profitable.

I've seen a number of people who put up an internet cafe business only to have it closed down within a year because they could not put up with the pressure of competition. The main reason for this is because, in the first place, they didn't have the technical knowledge about computers and second, they couldn't put up with the stupor of just sitting all day in their LAN shop.

What I suggest for you is to think what your interests are and build around that. Any product can be sold at a profitable volume. The secret in achieving this is really not the product, but the business system you will employ. That is what's important.

You may use this 5 steps I thought just now to help you in achieving your goal. Feel free to add your own guide questions.

1. Choose your field.
What are my interests? What am I good at? What business skills do I have or do I want developed?

2. Decide on your product.
What do I want to sell?

3. Map out your business system.
Who is my target market? Where are they? What is my production line? How will I manage it? How will I market my product? What are the factors that will affect my business? How will I take advantage of the positive factors? How will I control the negative factors? What are the legalities I have to go through if I build this business system? Who are the people I can ask for help if I encounter a difficult problem? etc... (focus on this!)

4. Analyze the system's financial growth.
How much capital is needed for this business system? Can I afford it? If not, where will I find investors for this business? What is my monthly breakeven volume to cover my operational costs? Is this volume achievable? What is the duration for the return of investment?

5. Deploy your plans.
Do I personally believe that this business system will work? Am I confident in my business plan? Am I ready to do everything I can to make this work?

I wish you good luck on your business.

Feel free to send me a PM if you need an investor. :)

hi!

yeah. hindi na yata ganon ka-profitable yung internet shop biz. though may few pa rin na kumikita, ive seen a lot of shops close down. yung sa brother ng friend ko, nagsara na. di man lang sya nag-break even.

hey, di kita discourage ha. i believe naman na sa tamang diskarte at hardwork, you can make anything work.

i have an idea kaya di ko alam kung magwowork. alam mo yung rice-in-a-box? kasi someone is selling his franchise for 80thou. equipment, kiosk and training included. nagdadalawang isip pa ako kasi first, student pa lang ako. and more imptly, parang saturated na ang rice in a box business. di ba an dami ng ganon? baka magaya ako sa pearl shakes. hirap sumakay sa business na "uso" e. pano pag "nalaos" na di ba?

anyway, pm me if you are interested. maybe we can be partners. para at least 50-50 sa start-up costs.. what do you think?

thanks!

mahirap talagang mag isip ng business now a days.. lalo na dito sa pinas... but there's nothing wrong thinking about it... pero tama nga sila na better think about the things ur interested in kasi pag basta basta business lang la den mangyayari sa yo dapat talaga interesado ka...

internet / gaming cafe... actually d pa patay to.. kaya pa kaso location talaga ang hahanapin mo... and kung ano target consumers mo... if u want u can target high end consumers.. kaso laki talaga capital.. (ex. blitzkrieg unclebobs powerplay)

in my opinion, the best business pa den here sa pinas is in the food industry, everyone loves to eat and try new tastes... kaso sa umpisa mabagal talaga... depends on ur marketing strategies na.. if u got the money franchise ka ng jolibee o kaya hap chan hehe kahit magkakatabi d nawawalan ng customers eh..

yun lang.. :)

mag-franchise ka kaya ng Henlin or Mister Donut or Dunkin Donut.

Here's one good way (though not the only way) of figuring our what business suits you and whether or not entrepreneurship is the way to go for you -

Try working for a few years in the corporate sector. Get to know how large organizations are run and see if you can apply these insights to your future business. And through your interactions w/ different people and establishments, you could get some new ideas on what to put up.

For example, brand managers from P&G, Unilever, and URC have set up their own PR and advertising agencies from the experience they got while on the job. Former IBM employees also established their own computer distributorships or IT consultancy firms. Former investment bankers, on the other hand, have raised their own hedge/investment funds. They were able to do these successfully after extensive experience.

Like what other PEXers have posted so far, setting up a business is no joke. Even here in the US, many small businesses open and shut down because people don't really know what they're getting into. Give yourself time to understand the entrepreneurial environment that you want to get into and it will be a lot easier to succeed.
