i took IQ test with 3 of my friends at sykes about a week and a half ago

they were called last friday
...i wasnt

but i heard that sykes is looking for cantonese and mandarin speakers

im not bragging ..but i m fluent with both of the mentioned above
and i m also good with computers
i also got working experience on call centers..multilingual too..

how come they didnt call me?? is it possible that the HR forgot about me?

or i wasnt called due to poor results in IQ test??

I just applied to peoplesupport sa jobstreet. wala ako makitang opening sa sykes. Do they accept part timers also? or full time lang? I'd like to work 6-10 weekdays and 8-5 saturdays. i have a regular job already but i just want another one for extra cash.

Patience is virtue.

Honestly, you can call them up if it has already been a long time since they last called you. Say that you would like to follow-up your application. :D

grabe ganyan talaga hrd.... ako nga mas grabe pa diyan salary negotiation na and after nun CONGRATS daw sabi ng magiging manager ko coz im hired na.... sa "GLOBE TELECOMS" PA HA. After the negotiation, tawag daw sila for signing contract tapos ive waited for a week then nainip ako i called the HRD tapos sabi sakin i failed the PSYCHOLOGICAL exam hehehe meron bang bumabagsak dun? yun pa technical ang position ko? :( well its their loss not mine :)

punta naman ako.

2 days later, der was dis girl asking me if it is alright to interview me on phone.

Sabi ok lang. So natapos interview.

2 days later again, der was dis boy naman asking me if it is alright to interview me on phone.

Sabi ok lang uli. So natapos interview uli.

2-5 days later again, der was dis girl again asking me if it is alright to interview me again on phone.

Sabi ok lang uli. again So natapos interview uli, again.

After 2-3 weeks ZERO Contact na.

here is what happened today
i convinced my friend who also speaks cantonese to go take exam
we were 2:30

i knew it was gonna be a bad day
when first arrived sykes makati
i was asking the guard of sykes what time is it...he just looked at the monitor..meaning check it yourself (unlike the friendly receptionist on the lobby who told me everything from visitor card number...to time and even the floor im into)
while i was signing in...the guard gave me dirty grin..
then told me that the test at 1..tapos na daw..

HELL! im there not for that stupid iq test but chinese exam ...as requested by their HR..she told me go there anytime between 1-5

i just said ok..sorta ignoring him ..i then met my friend..we then told the guard were to take chinese exam..i said i was looking for this person.blah blah..we wrote it on a piece of paper

what that guard did was..he stood on the doorway of the office..
he didnt go in to inform the person..it was I who saw the girl...
then the guard gave her the paper..
and this girl..(lets call her girl A, it was also girl A who lost my resume..thats why she told me to bring another one)told us to wait..
and wait
and wait..were left clueless....
again I approached and asked her what time will i take the test...

she said another person s gonna handle me(girl B)...and girl b s interviewing someone else
so we waited till 4...still no one is attending us
we got pissed off and left..

were able to converse with another applicant on our way down..
he was there 8 took the exam..
interview supposed to be at 2:00..but was interviewed 4


at around 5..girl B called up..but i got low batt...
so after i got home i called her up
she asked if im able to take the exam..
"i said no..i just waited for you...werent you informed?"
she said she was informed when we left
so i told her...that i was there 2:30..and told the guard and girl A about us being there....
so she apologized..and told me to take the exam tom.and look for her directly...

i know that there are lots of applicants..but ..hey...were sort of diff
since theyre desperately looking for multilinguals...
they should give importance to us....
or at least inform us bout the exact time of the exam..

actually this girl A can administer the exam...
just give us the questionnaire and we answer it..done...
as simple as that..

have to wait for their call
so far..
what i ve noticed is that they dont really look busy..
except for that guy who s calling the applicants via phone

there were 3 others who were scheduled to be interviewed

only 3 of them ...yet it took them hours...

correct me if im wrong...well bout other HR staffs what i see is that theyre just walking around..sitting down..walking around....go out for smoke...

i ll be at ortigas for next interview if ever ....so hope i dont see this kind of environment anymore

by the way ..in fairness to the guards...one of them is actually helpful :) the tall one... :)

hi spadia, i also took the exam last Sept 2 & was interviewed on Sept 3. the interviewer told me to wait for their reply within 3 weeks, & after that consider my application as failed. i hope they'll still call me. i applied for the customer serv-finance. the requirement here is that u pas the federal & state license to be given here in Manila. it's sort of giving advice about money & investment matters.

alam mo, qualified ka talaga, hope you succeed in sykes!

Hello! Two of my friends are working as financial analysts in Sykes or aka Customer Service Reps. for Finance. Yung isa, 2nd batch yung team nila kasi bago palang yang position na yan. BUT, she went to Hongkong to take the test, kaunti lang daw silang pumasa. Anyway, after nyang pumasa, pindala sya ng Sykes and nag-training sya sa Minnesota for two months. Ok nga eh, baka next month, papadala ulit sya sa States if ever. Yun nga lang, puro tests, kailangan masipag talaga mag-aral. BTW, kaka-graduate lang ng friends ko. :) So it doesn't matter kung saang school ka. Yun nga lang, it only took them a week to finish the qualifying test, interview and the whole hiring process, not three weeks. Goodluck. :)

short collared sleeves + pants will be ok
lalo na call center..no need to be that formal ...

dont be afraid of interviewers..coz they are humans ..
they are like us....who works for a living..

i ll be working for qinteraction...
coz im accepted there....they need our multilingual skills hehe
i applied for qinteraction last week thursday...
and today i had my 2nd interview ..and hired us on spot

but anything can still happen :)

today's interview is with an american from macromedia company
it was a casual talk..

and the HR girl told me the feedback was positive ..in fact more than positive
have to wait for another call...and last interview...

btw.. funny thing is that yesteday the HR girl called me
and today another guy from HR called me via mobile phone
he told me that i have an interview at sykes
and i told him..."im now at sykes"..
he asked..."makati or ortigas"(i m supposed to be at makati)
i then said " im at makati"

its easy to earn commission since its inbound...callers are interested you just have to follow it up

sykes is really an a- hole

yesteday an HR girl(my contact person) called me told me to be there at 9 am
today

and i today i was there...9:03 a few mins late..so i told the guard whom i m looking for..and purpose..then..
as usual i sat and wait for them to call me

i waited for an hr. so i told the guard to follow it up
since its going to be a phone interview with american
and its already 8 Pm their time
then guard then said ok..
i waited ...till 11:00..and i told the guard to pls follow up again the hr girl...
then there was another guard who told me that the hr girl is busy..pls wait some more .i said ok..
10 mins. later an hr person came out and told me that 2nd level interview..will be rescheduled to 8am tomorrow..

so i said "i was waiting for 2 hrs...and you should have told me earlier"
she just blurted "sorry, i was only told now(by the hr girl who is supposed to be my contact"

GRRRRRRRr
so i just went straight to the elevator..fuming mad...

other applicants who went there later than me were finished with their interview...(its handled by a diff hr person)
i really dont want to name names.....but im just so furious..
so inefficient...i dont think she s interviewing anyone....

i m supposed to have an interview with assistamerica-a company who looks for interpreters....
assistamerica called me up ..but i told the person that im not able to make it.....they told me they ll call again...for rescheduling

i ve been to diff interviews with diff. companies...
sykes is the worst so far..only 5 interviews but i went there 7 times....will be my 8th tomorrow...only two times were the interview on time...X@#!^@& :mad: :mad:

qinteraction is a lot better..theyre right on sched.
when they said 9 am interview ..its 9 am..even if its a bit late it ll be only 30 mins...
only 2 interviews..and im already in

the first company i worked for...3 interviews...and it was on time...
