Napansin ko lang na may threads ang ating friends from Slimmer's World and Gold's Gym so di siguro dapat magpahuli ang mga FITNESS FIRST customers.

Which branch do you go to? At what times? What can you say about their services and amenities?

Ako, I go to their Ayala-Makati branch on the weekdays after work (mga 7 pm onward) and at their Eastwood City branch on weekends dahil mas malapit sa house.

I love going to Fitness First. I like their clean environment, their classes and their Motivators are always on the prowl ready to assist neophyte gym members like me.

Plus, I love the unlimited Iced Tea and the yummy bananas.

So, Fitness First people...post na kayo dito!!

I love Fitness First! I've been going to the Makati branch the past 4 months now, usually around lunchtime. The gym membership there is really such a good investment.

What classes do you recommend? I've only tried the Body Pump class, and the Body Balance class which is also good. I'd like to try out the other classes, if my schedule permits.

Haven't tried out a single class there yet but my friend recommends the Cosmic Cycling... a great way to lose those unwanted fats. Just have to be consistent lang. Laging maraming tao rin sa Taebo so siguro I'll check it out din.

I enrolled at fitness first two weeks ago. I'm really impressed with the gym's facilities and ambiance, nakaka entice talaga magwork-out --something my old gym wasn't able to do. Although I found the gym fees a little too steep at the begininng, it's really worth it naman.

I work out at the Libis branch, but I heard that the Makati branch is bigger so I'm thinking of paying extra to get the pasport card next month since the Makati branch is just as far as the Libis branch from my place.

So far, I've only tried the Body Balance class. It was ok, although the class was a bit too advanced for me. I'm thinking of trying out the cardiobox class. The cosmic cycle class is good too, or so i've heard, if you want to shed some serious fat. I'd also like to try that soon.

weee finally, FF people! :D i work out at least 4x a week and only during weekdays. dati after office hours ako pumupunta but sobrang puno talaga parang may party every night. now, i work out from 6.30 - 7.30 in the morning. big diff talaga in terms of the volume of people working out.

question, you guys have gym buddies? ako kasi i like going to the gym by myself because sometimes nakaka-distract lang yung may kasama ka. yun lang :)

Lightspeed

Gym buddies?

Yeah! I brought along my three other officemates to Fitness First, and I managed to get a former schoolmate to enrol. So with these 4 referrals, Fitness First gave me one month free.

I just noticed that the growth in Fitness First membership has been quite phenomenal. Sa office building ko nga, I already see a growing number of people sporting the trademark blue FF knapsack on certain days. :)

Hi BaBy_gUrL_09!

Well, officially their Joining Fee is P10,000 pero they have assorted marketing schemes and, well, I used this Globe tie-up that they had and my joining fee just came down to P2,200 .

For the monthly dues, you can choose either Home or Passport. If you choose Home, you only get access to the Fitness First branch where you signed-up. It costs about P1,800 monthly.

If you choose Passport, you get access to all their branches (i.e. Ayala-Makati, Eastwood City, Alabang) and this costs about P1,900.

Hope this helps. ;)

I really like the cleanliness of the place. Especially the locker room and showers. What i dont like are the shower doors. Laging sira. One time, i got scared coz the door got stuck. It would have been extremely embarassing if I'd had to call someone for help. In fact, a friend of mine, a lady, got stuck in the shower for 10 mins. The attendant even had the nerve to tell her "sana hindi nyo na ni-lock". What a stupid person! Eh di sana hindi na sila nag lagay ng shower door! After that, my friend stopped going.

I also like the lounge. Medyo marami nga lang tao dun lagi. Did u notice that they always run out of Bananas. Natatawa nga ako kasi yung mga tao, parang hindi nakaka kain ng banana. Pag lagay pa lang dun sa lalagyan, agawan na! hehehe.

hi! 1 month pa lang ako sa fitness first. i go to their alabang branch during weekdays coz it's closer to where i work, tpos weekends sa makati naman. i like their cardio funk class! sarap ng dance steps! what i also like is the free sauna! and free iced tea! and free bananas! and the free headsets! hindi nakakatamad mag-rotex or treadmill kasi nakakanood ka ng movies. and free overnyt rental of vcds!

alam nyo ba...shhh... nakuha ko ang joining fee ng P500 (from P10k yun ha)... hehehe... oks diba?

hay naku! ako i'm disappointed! i joined may 2002. nung 1st 2-3months ok pa naman. i go to makati FF in the mornings around 9am. Not so many people. may hot shower, working shower locks, bananas, shampoo, soap, conditioner.
pero nung october, parang pumangit na! sobrang dami na nilang members ni-recruit without adding or improving the facilities!!

didn't you notice how weird the showers are? malakas yung tubig sa start then pahina nang pahina, hanggang mawala.. tapos biglang lakas na naman then hina ulit!
also, wala nang conditioner at suwerte mo kung may shampoo pang naiwan!

my sister goes to the gym in the evenings and she's complaining na kulang daw lagi yung lockers!

i hope FF improves it services coz i'm really thinking of terminating my membership!

ay pahabol pa... yung membership fee, racket lang yan ng mga marketing staff! i paid 1,000 got a free bag, two towels, a shirt (which i still haven't gotten), a water bottle, a headset, 3 complimentary gym passes + 5 25-minute massages (which i wasn't able to use)
basta, i-sweet talk mo dapat yung marketing - pa hard to get ka and they'll bombard you with freebies just to get you to join!

rwchick ;) i already terminated my membership due to the deteriorating service, bad trainers, poor aerobics classes, etc... i also joined last may 2002 but ngayong jan lang ako nagterminate.

the last straw was during the holiday season last dec., when we were supposed to be catching up on fitness, fitnessfirst had the gall to open their centers late---9am ba yon, instead of the usual 7am, and close their centers early (sometimes 5pm, sometimes 2 pm). anobayan...!!! and i had to pay them 1850 a month for this kind of service? tapos iyong fitness trainers pa nila---wala ring alam at nagpapasahan ng trabaho. :p i was just fed up with everything kaya layas na ako dun.

I have just re-joined Fitness First (albeit in Sydney and not Manila). I have a Global Passport Membership which means that, wherever I go in the world, I can visit any Fitness First branch. It's great, particularly as I like to workout when I am in the Philippines.

My favourite classes - spinning (great cardio and lower body workout), circuit, boxing and atheletic power. If they are available in the Manila based branches I recommend them! *okay*

the one in makati is a meat market. and it smells. wish gold's gym was more affordable. it's helluva lot better. but then again, body pump rocks and starf*cking at the ABS branch totally rules. hehehe.

I used to be a member of 24-Hour Fitness in the states and am interested in a gym membership at FF. My old gym had free aero, x-training, pilates and taebo/dancing and a steam room, what amenities does FF have?

i go to the libis branch... near my place, and since ill be taking graduate studies, and not working, i dont need the passport option since the other branches are farther. i go 3-4x a week, at around 2pm... para wala masyadong tao. i like it when i can have any machine... walang antayan, away... hhehhehe. but all the classes are earlier or later nga lang.

i joined just this may (fitness greenhills), and all i can say that the experience is great. although i have a couple of rants...

mahal ang monthly ko (passport, 2100php), i've heard from a friend that greenhills has the most expensive fees from among the fitness gyms.

walang saging, di pa fully "normal" ang operations ng greenhills

meron silang mga "maangas" na instructor

other than that, masaya sa fitness... although medyo snobbish ako kse i go to the gym to concentrate on working out. visited 4 of the 5 gyms (makati nalang ang hindi), i think the eastwood gym is the most spacious. pero madaming pretty girls sa abs gym.

Another member here. I go to ABS-CBN and am satisfied with their services and facilities naman although they tend to run out of tissues, or toilets go out of order once in a while. I love Body Balance under Eric. Vivian Zapanta is ok rin naman. I also love attending their Step, Hi-Lo, Cardiobox and Cardiofunk classes. Trainers are really friendly. And, yeah as Trinity mentioned, there do are a lot of artistas who go to the ABS-CBN branch. :)

I don't think they charge higher in GH. Monthly fee's the same for all branches, 1950 for home and 2100 for passport although those who joined before got discounts. My joining fee came down to 750 from the 1500 they first offered me. TRUE *** sinabi ng others that racket lang yun ng mga membership consultants. I was able to go inside their office and saw that they get around 80-100 pesos commission per person who joins.

Everybody gets a free gift: gym bag, towels, guestpasses, discounts on massage services and personal training no matter how much your joining fee is.

Just like s_abella, I've already visited 4 out of the 5 Fitness First gyms. Here are my personal impressions:

MAKATI - Sobrang daming tao dito kapag weekdays after work, around 5 to 8:30 p.m. Parang palengke na. Sometimes the place smells nga toward the evening dahil sa sobrang dami ng tao. Nauubusan na ng locker kaya puwede nang i-deposit yung backpack sa check-in counter sa labas. Because it's the oldest branch, medyo kailangan na ng repair ang mga facilities, especially in the locker room i.e. shower, lockers etc.

Pero kudos to the staff for managing to refill the iced tea and coffee on time. Friendly staff nila. The branch has that cosmopolitan feel to it. Maraming nice-looking girls.

LIBIS-EASTWOOD CITY - In my opinion, the best FF branch. It's very spacious and has a magnificent view of Libis. Ang ganda-ganda ng ambience. Parang you always feel light at hindi nagsisiksikan ang mga tao kahit dumadami na. Lockers are ok pa naman. Iced tea, coffee and bananas are regularly stocked. Parking is good dahil na-manage nilang i-lower ang fees to P10 if you have validation. Friendly front-desk staff although trainers and motivators aren't as friendly as in Makati, in my opinion.

ABS-CBN - The gym has that chic feel to it, probably kasi it's like the "Hollywood" branch, although parang darker ang lighting than the other branches. Locker room is very clean and the facilities have that brand-new feel to them. At least even in peak times, this place doesn't get the "palengke" air that Makati gets. The place is fairly spacious. Again, nice-looking crowd.

GREENHILLS - The "baby" of the family. Parang medyo mas maliit ang workout area, which is in the second floor. Pero parang mas malaki ang diversity ng mga equipment. There are certain equipment here na hindi ko nakita sa 3 other branches I've visited. The first floor, where the lounge, locker rooms and reception area are located, feels more spacious. It's very clean although hindi pa nga fully normal ang operations. As of two weeks ago, wala pang steam and sauna, although baka meron na by this writing. Wala pa ring "entrance gate" where you swipe your card.

ALABANG - I haven't visited the place. Anyone want to do a mini-review? I'm interested how this compares to the other branches.

All-in-all, Fitness First still offers a fairly good and delightful workout experience, although the degree varies from branch to branch. Libis/Eastwood is by far the best and I hope the other branches can look at that as their model.

More than a month na kami ng bf ko na member sa Fitness First (passport), pero di ko pa nasisimulan magwork out dun. Pano yon eh first time ko mag-member ng gym? San ako magsisimula? Di ko kasi alam gagawin ko pagdating ko dun.

Tsaka may mga namimick up ba sa Fitness First? I get really irritated kasi sa guys na tumitingin pag nasa gym eh.
Lastly, kelangan ba mag-sports bra while working out? How about the socks, kelangan ba athletic socks ang gamitin?

Oh yeah, P750 each din yung joining fee namin, pero may administrative fee pa kaming binayaran na more than P1,000 each.

1. pag first time kang member...may parang "initiation" chuva yun. i forget what they call it. basta turuan ka nila how to use the machines. i think you have to call muna para magpa-sked.

2. the pick up part i can't answer. ehek. pero daming bading dun so i guess mas problema ng guys to :D most of the people pretty much mind their own businesses...except for some hostile girls pero wag mo na lang pansinin...baka PMS-ing sila. hahaha. wear a sports bra kung comfy ka wearing one and use athletic socks.

I've been a member of FF Makati branch for almost a year na..di nga lang ako ganun ka regular mag work out because of my darn sked. Ok naman yung facilities nila, pag off peak hours nga lang mas maganda mag work out, walang gaanong tao. Their spa's okay din, masarap magpa massage. Dami ding pogi hahaha! Mas mura sya compared to other gyms kung tutuusin kaya lagi sila jam packed pag before and after office hours..

Fave class ko eh yung cosmic cycling..naliligo ako sa sweat nun eh, Body Pump's cool din tsaka Body Balance. Havent tried yung bago nila, yung Body Combat ba yun..

Ayaw ko lang minsan yung water nila, nagwawala bigla pero I guess they're doing something about it.

ano diff ng cardiofunk sa body jam?

in cardiofunk, you try to learn a whole routine, during the class and you get to perform it in the end. main objective of the class is to get you to learn the steps. and to dance.

in body jam, it's dancing to songs of different genres, like hiphop, house, latin house or whatever, and dancing with a series of steps, that you perform in different energy levels throughout a song. moreof a workout class than a dance class.

nag inquire ako lately lang sa gold's gym.. mga 24k ata annual fee nya. but they have a pre-selling promo ata sa galleria branch nila for 34k/2 years na. kaya lang hindi pa sila open. parang style kc nila eh magre recruit muna sila ng a certain number of members at pag na reach na quota bago sila magstart sa paggawa ng gym. yun ang pagkakaintindi ko kc when i was talking to their consultant parang di rin siya sure kung kelan mag oopen ang golds gym galleria.

anyway sa fitness first naman, may kamahalan na rin siya dahil kaka enroll ko lang and yung monthly fees nya eh 2250 na. and then may kasamang registration fee pa yun around 3k siguro.

what you can do is to join yung greenhills branch nila then get the passport account...waived daw yung membership fee sa greenhills dahil yun yung newest branch nila. then there's this 1000 peso processing fee. so all in all if you don't pay for the membership fee, your initial cash out would be the 1K plus the monthly fee....

been going to FF makati for 1.5 months now and i am very much satisfied. got my membership (lifestyle) for 500, and my first month for 1300, plus the usual freebies (bags, towels, headset, water bottle, massage and PT discounts). i also got 10 PT sessions, with 20% discount and 2 free sessions, plus consultations with the nutritionist. my monthly is 2100, and i can go to any branch. i go there 6X a week so sulit na sulit talaga. in one month, i have seen the difference sa katawan ko so the more na motivated ako to go.

the staff, friendly naman. my trainer is jerry, he's okay. although tapos na yung PT sessions namin, he assists me whenever he's free, helps me out with schedules, asks me kung may problem ako sa program na ginawa niya, mga ganun. i've joined body combat, with john and randy. pero mas gusto ko yung kay randy, mas masaya and energetic. and cosmic cycling with manel, although i-try ko daw si rommel or ronald. grabe, tagaktak pawis ko.

it can really get crowded though from 6-8 pm on weekdays. parang palengke. you have to line up for available equipments. ang ingay. tapos may mga iba pa na sobrang tagal gumamit ng machines. one time there was this one guy who did chest presses for 6 sets of 12 reps. ok lang siya?

also, they have 9 TV sets in the cardio area, but only shows three movies, tapos weekly nila pinapalitan. minsan pa inuulit, like yung nurse betty, ilang linggo nang pinapalabas. sana they would have cable TV, just like in abs-cbn branch.

also toilet and locker areas need improvement.

and also, bananas are nowhere to be found.

but in general, am satisfied and i am looking forward to many months and years with FF.

*** sa inyo nagba-body combat or body jam?

lalang, last sat kc medyo ni-introduce nila *** mga 3 tracks for the new body combat...... mas nakakapagod sya kc dami talon-talon pro nde ko type *** music, parang nde sya tulad ng lumang mga tracks na mas nakaka-indak na tipong gaganahan kang maga-upper-upper-hook! :D

pero nung october, parang pumangit na! sobrang dami na nilang members ni-recruit without adding or improving the facilities!!

didn't you notice how weird the showers are? malakas yung tubig sa start then pahina nang pahina, hanggang mawala.. tapos biglang lakas na naman then hina ulit!
also, wala nang conditioner at suwerte mo kung may shampoo pang naiwan!

my sister goes to the gym in the evenings and she's complaining na kulang daw lagi yung lockers!

i hope FF improves it services coz i'm really thinking of terminating my membership!

ay pahabol pa... yung membership fee, racket lang yan ng mga marketing staff! i paid 1,000 got a free bag, two towels, a shirt (which i still haven't gotten), a water bottle, a headset, 3 complimentary gym passes + 5 25-minute massages (which i wasn't able to use)
basta, i-sweet talk mo dapat yung marketing - pa hard to get ka and they'll bombard you with freebies just to get you to join!

I'm a FF member in Makati for almost 2 years na. For me ok naman service nila for me. Kaya now I go to the gym on weekends, mas ok kase konti lang tao.

Hi FF people!!!I'm also a member. bago nga lang. i just joined last oct 20,in makati. yung passport account nila ang kinuha ko. i have to pay 2100 every month starting on dec.1,since bayad nako buong nov. but i'm always in makati since nung naging member ako cause mas malapit sa house. Every other day ako pumupunta, i'm a fresh grad kc,so bum ako,la pa work..hehe

i haven't tried any of their classes though:( pano ba kase, can u just butt in to the class??hehe:confused: 3 yun dba,4 beginners then intermmediate tapos advance.....ayy,may "ALL" pa ***.... so shempre sa beginner and all lang ako pwede.....:D ano yun, join ka nalang bigla?:D or kailangan mo pa mag-sign up?kung kailangan pa, ano 1 hour before or a day before?di ko **** alam...sorry po... :*) mahiyain pa **** ako,so i rarely ask questions from the people there,**** sa trainors...hehe:D isa pa yung factor *** di ako nkk-sali sa classes nila,la ko kilala.... dati pinalitan nila ang brand ng iced tea. kahapon nung pumunta ako sa ABS wala nang coke products. softdrinks pa din pero walang brand na nakalagay. sama ng lasa. ano ba yun.

any idea kung how much yung premium membership para makapunta din sa fitness first plus (dating the spa sa rcbc)?

_LoRrAiN3_, wag ka mahiya. lahat naman dumadaan sa pagiging beginner. if you want to attend a class, they release the numbers 30 minutes bago magsimula ang class. pila ka sa may reception area. if it's your first time to attend cosmic cycling, piliin mo yung class ni christine, for beginners talaga yun. tsaka yung mga instructors nagtatanong naman lagi kung may beginners sa class so they can help them out. wag ka lang mahiya to raise your hand.

chebyshev, punta ka na lang sa www.fitnessfirst.com.ph to get the numbers of FF alabang. you'll also get their class schedules. kaya lang kahit tumawag ka they won't give out info. iimbitahan ka talaga nila to drop by their office. i suggest hingi ka ng free trial.

c roselle nava nakikita ko pag wkends nagvo-vocalize sa girls locker room HEHEHE at c wency cornejo(?) sa fitness first alabang.
