Trivia Question for you

When you put a magnet in the north pole what happens to it and why? I'd appreciate it if anyone can answer this.

if you were right at the top of the world (lattitude 90), the needle would point somewhere towards the direction of norway and sweden(?). you see, the top is the north geographic pole (or the true north). it does not correspond with the north magnetic pole. the north magnetic pole is somewhere along lattitude 88(??)

now, if you were holding the compass at the north magnetic pole, the needle could point anywhere or could just point down. no readings on it will be accurate.
