When I was working 6 days, I still had time for myself, kaso kahati na yung time for rest. Kulang.
I have an extra day off for rest. :)

right now (since first week ko pa lang sa first job ko) ... parang wala! since 6:30 am i wake up and then mga 8 am to 9:30 am commute (from antipolo to makati cbd), then from 6:30 to 8 commute naman pauwi, so i have 8:30 to 10:30 pm lang of rest. haaaaay.
pero hopefully either i'll get accustomed to make the most out of my saturdays or sundays, or (God forbid) i resign and either take a sabbatical of sorts (again) or apply in a nearer company. pero like ko na sa company ko now eh... decisions decisions

I work 5 days a week (the last day being a 12-hour shift) I still have time for myself kahit papaano; the thing is, I'd rather spend it either by myself by sleeping or hanging out with friends.

I work 5 days a week and have pager duty every alternate weekend, but I love the people I work with, so when I'm in the office, it feels like I'm with my barkada as well. And I work from home 2 days a week, so that helps a lot :) I can clean and do the laundry, and do other household chores in between checking email, preparing reports, and answering trouble tickets.

then my "supposedly" rest day...i spend it in school... how's that? :bungi:
time for myself.... wala na ata :( .... imbis na gumimik ako, i'd rather stay at home and rest.

just quit work, and i guess i shouldve been thankful na halfday lang work pag saturdays.
nevertheless, i hated 6-day work days. really do. no time to gimik with officemates on friday (because of saturday work), tapos malabo naman kung saturday lunch...uwi na lang ako para magpahinga.
i agree, time management lang yan, pero iba pa rin kasi yung required ka na pumunta sa work station mo pag sabado.

I used to work 6 days a week. Saturday was usually half-day.
Nasanay din ako. But then I missed out on the gimmiks and photo shoots/seminars that were usually scheduled on Saturday mornings. :( Hay!
I soon quit my job. Now I'm working in Makati 5-days a week. Mas ok na for me and I have a whole Saturday again for my hobbies. :D

I work 7 days a week to 9 days straight ( i've tried 10 days straight as well and tell you, it was hell!). Night shift, 8 hours everyday with OT almost everyday (min of 2 hours to max of 6). I am basically asleep the entire morning that no one is able to reach me on my cell or landlyn (coz I wake up around 3 hours before my shift, just about enough time to get me fixed for work plus travel time).
Ok lang naman, masasanay ka rin. But of course I lose out on a lot of gimmicks and stuff with my barkada and spend so little time with my bf. And then whenever we get the chance to go out I'm either stressed out or kulang sa tulog. We would end up fighting during the first few months (he works regular hours-8 to 5) and ruining the entire day for both of us, but now I guess we learned how to handle it better. Its just a matter of adjusting and making compromises and of course a lot of sacrifices to be able to spend quality time.
Before feel bad pa ko whenever my friends wud go out on a saturday night and I'm stuck in the office till 5 am. Super hirap magadjust (most esp for a gimikera like me), pero lately, ok na naman. I guess it's just a matter of setting your priorities right. I mean i already gimmicked my whole college life, so I guess eto na *** kapalit.
The pay is really good and it helps me save (no more paying 500 bucks every saturday for 4-5 hours of fun, not to mention food and transpo expenses--toll, gas).
Its actually nice if you look at it from a different perspective. It made me realize the value of the littlest things.
my bed - masarap pala siya higaan kapag walang kalat (coz I don't stay there often anymore that's why its always clean)
time with my BF- before whenever we get to see each other its like ok, bye, tom ulit, but now I get to appreciate every second (and since we missed each other so much the past days, sarap ng feeling kapag nagkikita :*) ) and i guess the whole set up has made us more mature in dealing with our relationship.
sleep - used to be my last priority (syempre una sa list ko ang gimmick before, kahit na puyat puyat na ko) but now its on top of my list!! Sleep = heaven!!!!!
vitamins - gets you going talaga! My dad used to scold me for not taking my vitamins coz i'd always tell him that these are non essential stuff - oops, mali pala, hehehe.
and a lot more things!!
5 months and still surviving :D. I guess I can say that I like my work (otherwise I wouldn't sweat my a$$ of this much!!!)
Just take the time to adjust, appreciate the things that work is able to give you and of course treat yourself every once in a while for a job well done. :)

hahay.... sinabi mu. Also sabi nila eh "bayad" ang sundays ko kaya pag may OT or Night Differential eh mas maliit kasi divided by 30 ang sweldo mo so maliit ang per day mo.

Nope. Hindi ako makatulog ng maayos so kahit 5 days a week lang work ko kulang pa rin time ko for myself and my family.

Lemme see, I work six days a week at around 9 - 10 hours a day. Yep, in fact I do still have time for myself. Though mostly at night. And it takes a ****in' toll on me as well. I go out almost three to four times a week...that means I barely get enough sleep. It's all about taking the effort to go out if you want to. Life's not about work, nor is it about getting enough sleep...it's about making the most out of it.

I did that on my first job. I hated it. For a fresh grad, Friday nights usually is the time to unwind with friends and schoolmates. Then if you stayed too late, you'll be too wasted to force yourself to work on Saturdays.

i work 5 days a week 6:30 am-3:00 pm and i go to school on the weekend and monday nights so i have one day that i get out of the house at 5:45 am and go home at 9:30 pm. still, not so bad. ok naman, i'm almost done with school so i guess i'm hanging in there!! i hardly see my friends, i hardly talk on the phone. my free time mostly i spend with my kids. and i just sleep early, 10-ish. i just take advantage of the long weekends. yun na lang bale bakasyon ko, when i have no work and no school for 3 days katulad next week walang pasok sa school at walang pasok ng monday sa trabaho!! yehey!!

I work 6 days a week too and my day off is on a Thursday. Weekends are killers because there's so much to be done on those days since I work for a supermarket chain and I'm store-based.
It really boils down to .. yep, time management. My point here is that I do go for the extra mile in my job but when day off comes, I alienate and pamper myself. If on workdays I have time to go out at night, I chill out with friends. At first, I couldnt really keep up with the work pace.. I even got pimples! But now I've adjusted ... it's also a matter of acceptance :)

I work in a encoding/research company. Our project is still in its "adjustment" stage so there are a lot of problems and missed projections. We work almost non-stop from monday to saturday. We're forced to work overtime at least for 12 hours. 30 minutes breaktime for every 3 hours. Our sunday is supposed to a restday, but we're obliged to go to work if there's a shipment the following day. The last two saturdays we worked from 10 am to 6 am the following day. I didn't report today since I have this feeling that they would either force us to work for 16 hours or they'll ask us to work tomorrow.
The pay is quite unforgiving especially for a highly skilled staff. I this doesn't improve till December or January, I might bolt out of the company by february.
The problem is that we are extremely understaffed for that kind of project. Nagdagdag nga sila ng tao, but in my projection, we'll still short of people. What worries me is what if those who are new decided that they feel exploited, what if we resign all at the same time.
I'm seriously weighing my options. I just want to have extra money this christmas, afterwards I'd review my employement there.
The work itself is cool. It's their labor practices that is intolerable.

yun una kong trabaho, mon to sat 8-5pm. di masyadong enjoy ang weekend. then nagbago sked ko, mon-fri 8-6pm tapos half day pag sabado 8-12nn.
ok na rin pag half day sabado.
pangalawa kong trabaho mon-fri lang 9-6pm.
ngayong kelangan na uling maghanap ng malilipatan (folding up na company eh) naghahanap ako ng trabaho na at least half day lang ang sabado.
