yeah, why spend P2T when you can spend it on your materials. But seriously, candle making can also be dangerous. Since it involves fire (and melting wax), some wax have certain degree limit.
i know a place where you can buy your COMPLETE materials. email me here. (rachelt12@yahoo.com)
Good Luck on your new venture!

hi! i think the best place to look for materials is in divisoria. try this place called Gody's. they basically have everything you need. tapos if you have free internet time, you could look for tutorials on how to make candles. marami sa net. good luck!

hey count me in...i too would want to learn candle-making. i have some reference materials from the internet but i can't get started as i don't have the necessary materials.
i think it's expensive here in singapore as most of the things are but when i get back to phils soon i mean to seriously start.
anybody who can tell me where to get good materials in cebu? hirap kasi pag sa manila pa bibili eh.

hello dac. it's so kindness naman of you!! balak ko visit muna ako ng divisoria on this coming wednesday. excited ako, wag naman sanang umulan ha. i'll see if there's a book there i can buy para di naman nakakahiya sayo kung maistorbo pa kita. nways, kung wala talaga akong makita na ibang sources (aside from the net), talagang i'll contact you. we can do it here in my house tapos treat na lang kita, masarap akong magluto :yum: dun na lang ako babawi plus some surprise thank you gifts na lang kung ayaw mo talaga accept ng fee. may garage naman dito at dirty kitchen, pwede tayo dun gumawa..
by the way, do you think it's worth it? hindi ba boring? kse whenever i see candles na talagang well-designed naeexcite ako. im an artist myself naman kaya i can work on different design ideas. gusto ko talagang ma explore ang aking artistic talent.. baka meron pa akong magawang mas productive sa buhay ko hehhe.. thanks so much!

hello peg, to tell you the truth the reason i'm not working on what ive learned is... yep katamaran.....
i figure maybe if you want to learn this stuff i can practice working on my craft... hilig ko rin ito.like you i'm fond of craftworks also. as for references, i bought a lot of candlecraft books. thing is, you still have to practice working on it to make really good candles.
Christmas is fast approaching again.. lalaki na naman demand for candles. i recommend you go to Godys at divisoria. its in front of tutuban cluster bldg. recto. just across chinabank.
one stop shop ito so you dont have to go around the entire divisoria looking for stuff. if you have any questions... log in.
happy hunting

i dont think they have books at godys
you can try national bookstore.
Powerbooks at megamall or pasay road. they have a good selection of candlemaking books
or Fully Booked at powerplant rockwell, if you see a book you like, get it cause they do not stock the book again. The craft book section is really good.

hows your divisoria trip? are you into wax or gel candles?
gel candles are easier to make but more expensive. but its fun to make and it cools fast.
you can check out the livelihood series of TLRC, they have a booklet on candle making which cost less than a hundred.
i think i saw your message on another topic here about candlemaking. if you encounter any techinical problem log in ka lang.

thats good, you are making designs already. its important to have a clear idea what you want to make. can i suggest you open this under the hobbies section? parang mas bagay ito doon so other people can join us.
can i suggest that you buy tha wax muna. you can use any mold you want to naman. maski lata or hard plastic. or in a container just to get the feel of it muna.
if you got the money, molds cost around 200-600 depends on the design.
dont buy colorants muna....just get plain color.
will inform you of the materials you need.
