probation period is 4 months right? what if i'm still undergoing probation then i suddenly want to quit because i realized that working in a call center is not really for me... will i still pay the bond? some are saying na "panakot" lang naman yung bond, hindi daw totoo yun... how true??? i'm really planning to quit na although i know sayang kasi mataas salary. di ko na kasi kaya night shift, i rather have a job with a normal working sked.

Convergys Corp. has expanded a software licensing agreement with Time Warner Cable, the company said Tuesday.

Time Warner Cable's billing software agreement includes a license for Infinys, Convergys' modular, convergent business support system software.

Convergys currently provides customer management and billing support to 20 of Time Warner Cable's 31 cable television, broadband Internet access, and cable telephony services. Convergys also provides data center and disaster recovery consulting.

Nope. When you agree to work in a CC like Convergys (and so with other CCs), you agree on the terms of working on a shifting and/or rotating schedule. Kahit na part-time lang, the company decides on your schedule. ;)

duration of typing test and rate of wpm, depends on the account you will handle..passing rate sa amin is 95%..un tipong 5 mali lang ata..aun..

You will undergo the usual hiring process and procedures. Initial interview, a thorough exam (call sim and typing included ) either for CSRs or TSRs, final interview ...

I suggest that when you are invited for an interview sched, try your best to make it if you have agreed to do so. It somehow reflects an impression, unless you have to re-schedule due to an emergency.

Failing the initial interview is another thing. You can't move on to the next phase of the recruitment process. You can re-apply after 6 months.

Whether you applied at any Cnvgs location ( even in Cebu), you can't re-apply at another (makati, espana or ortigas). Your application record is kept and HR can always trace it. Integrity right? ;)

So prepare yourself. Practice for the interview and the exams. Hope that helps... :D

Once you've completed the 6 months prob period, you become a regular employee. You get notified, not necessarily sign a new contract. Well it depends on Company policies, which you have to verify with HR to avoid confusion or complications.

As with any other job, di lang sa Call Center, you have to serve the minimum notice period of 30 days before your resignation becomes effective. ;)

ilang weeks lang,i applied sa alabang naman. so, it htought na iba sila. yun na nga,tumawag saken..i explained naman what happened sa makati...still they let me take the e-skills and call sim..i passed it nanaman...for final nako. nun final ko na, i told the one whose goin to interview me na it will be my 2nd time na nakaabot ng final.

Guys, I recently passed the final interview, but the interviewer said that before they can offer me the job contract, I would first undergo a 1 week EPT. My question is... is it worth the wait to undergo the EPT before the job offer? Has any of you undergone the EPT, and what if, worst comes to worst, someone fails from the EPT, do they give you another chance to undergo EPT again or you will have to go through all the application process again after 6 months? Does a potential employee get monetary compensation for the 1 week EPT? Is it me, or I just find it funny that Convergys is offering training before the signing of the job contract?

From what I understand sa EPT Process nila, mejo preparation un for Convergys' training. May mga kakilala kc ako na pinag-EPT muna, tapos okay naman siya. Walang assurance na papasa after the validation interview, pero sa tingin ko, okay na din un, kc libre naman. walang call center pa akong alam na nag-o-offer na magbigay ng libreng training in preparation for CVG training. walang monetary compensation kc technically, di ka pa employee na CVG. It's up to you, dude, kung gusto mong i-take *** chance na un. You have the option naman ata not to take it, and if thats the case, you can re-apply after 6 months. hindi naman lahat ng applicants binibigyan ng ganyang chance--either outright failed or pumasa ka. baka nakita ng interviewer mo na may potential ka, and gusto pang i-enhance. ask for a clearer reason kapag mejo malabo syo. matanong lang, san ka bang site na-interview? :)

Thanks Mindreader for the reply. I was interviewed at The Enterprise office of Convergys. The account, the interviewer told me was Home Shopping Network- Inbound Sales Account. I was first surprised about the EPT offer, but I thought after the final interview, a potential employee is already good for employment, but I guess Convergys, like what you said mindreader, is just making sure that their business is on tip top shape. Anyhow, I'll take my chances and attend the training, not everyone has the priviledge to join Convergys right. *okay*

How much is the salary in CVG as a CSR?

I don't know if we're allowed to disclose the exact figure here, so I'll just say that starting salary is higher than 15k (basic + non-taxable allowances). I believe tech positions get a little higher...

Tech support positions at CVG get a LOT HIGHER than non-tech when it comes to base pay. Malaki rin ang incentives. There is also a premium for those that have 6 months or more of contact center exprerience...hindi lang po 500 pesos ang premium para sa 6 months experience tulad ng ibinibigay nung isang contact center na putak ng putak sa kanyang brand name.

The only people I know that can top the tech-support pay are the commissions of Sprint people in voice support. We pay higher comm. base pay, incentives and allowances here than the MAIN PHILIPPINE VENDOR of Sprint-PCS and that is a fact! When Convergys says that it wants to be en employer of choice it is reflected in its compensation unlike that call center that does says the same and harks about its brand name but whose pay scale is hardly above industry.

We also don't impose an onerous non-compete clause that bans you from any call center positions for one year unlike that other call center that took a pot-shot at our signing bonus promo with their "travel benefits".

depende na lang sa trainor iyan, ako nga na realize ko na may problem pala ako th and p and f sound ko during CCT, may mga considerations din naman sila kahit paano ang wag mo lang gagawin during training ay yung lates absent tapos pasaway ka during training like browsing, not doing group activity sigurado term ka doon baka mag bond ka pa, madali lang makapasa sa training kaya mo iyan

ang pagka alam ko di ka makakapili ng acct. pero pwede kang mag lateral entry sa ibang acct. justify mo nga lang sa tl mo, sa salary may bonus kasi pag meron ka nang previous call center experience yung mga ka wave mate ko 14k basic + 2.5k allowance; mga 6months sa call center plus 1.5k sa basic mo; then 2.5k after 6 months.

Yup, Convergys hires continuously. From what I know, they're an equal opportunity employer so they really don't care about your age. He may even be given a premium if he can fluently speak in several languages.

tama, ganito rin sabi sa akin ng TL ko wala raw re-alighnment based din daw sa performance pero parang ganon na rin iyon basta mag increase ayos na iyon.

i'll try to answer your question with utmost honesty and to the best of my knowledge (BTW, i'm in ortigas but more often than not this would apply to all cvg centers)

1. cool benefits? ...there are fringe benefits but i hardly consider them cool (cool for : meal allowance, transpo allowance, 15 days vacation leave in a year, 15 days sick leave in a year, no shuttle service. company outings and parties are now starting to suck. sorry ortigas Employee Relations Team, but it just doesnt cut it.
everything else about benefits i guess would be average
2. facilities: sleeping area; not that big
showers; in ortigas we do have them not sure about the other centers
tv sa pantry: yes
sariling worksation: no, you have to share it would people on the shift before and after you and tehere is no guarantee that you'll get to use the same pc the next day.
flat panel monitors: yung sa mga bagong account yata flat panel pero most are of the conventional CRT kind. scroll mouse is default kahit saang call center siguro
3. as far as i know, walang tech support sa makati

The regular government-mandated benefits apply (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-ibig) as well as we have Maxicare as our HMO. Aside from that, if you belong to an account that provides commission (like that in Alabang), you also get prizes (cash and/or kind) for exceeding metrics. Some of our agents in Alabang were able to go to Hongkong, Thailand, etc.

As for dressdown, we claim to be "mahigpit" but really now...

If things haven't changed in a year's time, the only site that provides paid shuttle services is the Cebu building in Banawa.

Most of the sites have sleeping areas. Ortigas has some shower rooms because it was built-in when we moved into Robinsons-Equitable. No gyms as well as sariling workstation.

Why would you want a flat panel monitor? Madali naman masira yun (based on my experience when I went to Cebu last year). May scroller naman yung mice sa lahat...unless? :rotflmao:

Yep medyo mahigpit po sa browsing ng websites sa cvg may mga nasabi na sakin na nabigyan na sila ng memo for browsing friendster and other blocked sites nung nagdown yung website blocker nila and totoo pala yung pwede ka ma screenshot ng mga I.T. employees kasi nasa training ako nun tapos break namin nagtry ako manood ng video sa youtube.com tapos natakot ako kasi may nagremote access sa terminal ko biglang may nagtype sa search field ng youtube ng "we can monitor your computer usage" arrrg! natakot ako nun muntik ko na i shutdown yung pc ko! :lol:

It is possible that your training will be in Insular Life Building along Ayala Avenue.

You can "dress down" during Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. You can wear tee shirt, maong pants or shorts, sneakers, etc. Monday to Thursday you need to be in business attire, so long as you have a collared shirt then it is okay.

regarding the dress code, during weekdays (mon. -thurs.), you have to be business attire but on the weekends you can wear casual. if you already recvd your employee handbook, the dresscode is written there and you can just check it out but, if not, you will be briefed on the first day of training as to what you can wear at work. goodluck on your training! :)

malaking isyu ang metrics sa lahat ng call centers. akong bihasa na sa BPO industry tuwing kausap ko mga TL na-iisip namin na sinadyang itaas ito to humanly unrealistic standards para mahirapang ma-regularize ang agent o madaling mahanapan ng dahilan para sipain....job security offered is an illusion to some extent...the sweatshop culture from the US call centers is till exported to this country where ideally dahil sa VERY SUBSTANTIAL cost savings pwedeng magbigay ng decent salary, comprehensive and longer training and realistic metrics - at the same time substantially raising the return on sales of the outsourcer...pero I do not see this happening on a wide scale. Ang nangyayari lang karaniwan yung very very substantial increase in return on sales - as hign as thirty to forty percent annually.....

Nag-discuss na nga samin last week yung isang tiga HR about the increase this month. Ang sabi samin it's part of the annual performance appraisal, I just don't know kung pwede ibigay dito yung percentage of increase so di ko na lang banggitin to be safe. Pero based nga daw sa metrics mo. Andami nga lang components nun like your QA scores, attendance, AHT, etc. The percentage itself is alright for me but one of my teammates says she's disappointed kasi mas mataas pa daw magbigay ng increase at bonus yung dating company nya, tapos DA pa yung account nya dun, samantalang dito nasa pinakamahirap na program kami.

Anyway, personally, I don't think magtatagal din naman ako dito sa work na to. Kahit na I've been working here for only a few months, di ko na enjoy yung trabaho. I have nothing against the company and I only have praises for them and the way they take care of their employees. This is just not my line. Balik na lang ako sa dati kong work, which mostly involves doing paperwork. Honestly, I just decided to try it out here coz of the salary. Pero I realized that even a big salary is not worth it if you're not enjoying what you're doing. Nakakatulig na sa tenga ang pagsisigawan ka ng mga Kano! And you have to deal with pressure from all sides: management, QA, sups, customers and sometimes even from teammates! Tapos stressed ka pa dahil sa sked. Sa work na to, pag di ka kagad na promote, maaga kang tatanda! Hehehe... :D

Pero I'm not discouraging anyone from applying here. As I said, this probably is the best company I've worked for. This just isn't my line. If you think your line is in customer service, then this would be a great company for you. So go ahead! Explore! :)

Somebody from Convergys called me up yesterday and she told me I'll be having a simulation exam today. Last night, parang ayaw ko nang magpunta. Pero nagpunta pa rin just to experience applying. Ayun nakapasa naman ng simulation exam. Final interview na pero they will call again daw kasi wala pa silang schedule ng final interview for next week. Sabi ko sa schedule ko pwede ako ng next week pa. La lang.

Tanong ko lang...few mos ago, I took the simulation exam at convergys alabang, i passed. Then i had my final interview at 11 am, then i was instructed to come back same day - 6pm naman. Unfortunately , i didnt make it...i felt sick, siguro sa pressure na rin...But i tried to call HR for a reschedule. I didnt hear from them anymore, and I was shy to follow up. Do I have to go through the long hiring process again if i wish to work at convergys? grabe yung final interview, ang tagal! dami tanong...and it turned out that my papers were turned over to the operations manager na pala, kaya lang I failed to come to the office...malas naman....pero nanghihinayang din, laki na din hirap ko sa pag apply sa convergys....and i really want to work there...hu hu hu....grabe *** tension while waiting to be called for the interview...

some tips: they'll be asking for your short-term and long-term plans. they'll be asking you if you see yourself growing with the company. they will also be asking you to cite some instances in the past that showed your: grace under pressure, leadership, team-work, and adaptability to change.

it helps to be very articulate. mind your gestures. the way you sit (be comfortable, not too straight-back) and always look the interviewer straight in the eyes.

For the Culture and Communications Training you might be 20 in one class/wave. There is a possibility that you will be in one team when you reach the production floor or you can be distributed into different teams too.

That's what happened to my wave. We were together during CCT, the Product (or Project?) Specific Training and the transition period. But we were distributed into different teams with people from other waves. Around 3-4 people from each wave into a new team. Enjoy!

CCT- a lot of impromptu speeches,on the spot recordings,playing catch phrase,okrayan ng accent and pronounciation (esp yung mga taong epal na di naman maiiwasan),patasan ng ere etc...hahaha.pero swerte mo kung mababait mga batchmates/wavemates mo.kasi kopyahan kayo sa exam! hahaha. as for the company,i can't say anything bad it's just that my account,oh my goodness! i can't imagine how i survived! goodluck!

p.s. talagang nangliligwak ang cvg sa pst at cct kaya pakatino ka.bawal nga pala absence... well sa batch ko ha.discretion pa rin siguro ng trainer.and sa insular strict sobra sa "english only policy".

Hindi lang nosebleed, pati tenga dumudugo na. Yung mga batchmates ko naman eh mga okay lahat! Ang kukulit! Minsan eh nagpapasahan ng notes na written in Tagalog dahil wala nang maisip na English.

Anyway, I still haven't applied for an NBI clearance. I went to its Carriedo office yesterday but had to go home after seeing the scores of people waiting for their turn. Also, I haven't filed for a TIN and I have not yet been scheduled for my pre-employment PE. Is HR very strict regarding the 'pass-15-days-after-hire' deadline? I'm planning to seek NBI clearance this Friday and file the BIR form next week. And are we going to receive our very first pay on the 28th?

Grabe I didn't realize that documents are so stressful.
