hey peeps....
i signed my contract last week @ CVG Ortigas but I still lack 2 requirements (PhilHealth & TIN). The HR there asked me to pass the remaining requirements last monday, but due to some reasons, I wasn't able to pass them... I plan on submitting it to them maybe next week pa.
i just want to know if this could be a ground for them not to consider me for the job anymore? my starting date is june 23 pa naman... could i still pass the requirements next week or will they not accommodate it anymore? pls shed some light... quite clueless about how things go here eh.. :) Thank you very much...
Don't worry ..... you can submit your requirements even during the 1st week of training just be sure to tell HR. As long as all the information you gave during your interview is accurate you have nothing to worry about*okay*

Hi to all guys who works in BPO Industry!!
Is there an age limit when someone applies for a job in a call center?
Does it really need to work in a shifting time? Beyond 8hrs working time is already overtime, right? Is the compensations worth in the long run?
I hope someone could help me, I might be able to change my mind working in BPO Industry.;)
No there is no age limit.....as long as your over 18, completed at least your 2nd year of college and capable of doing the job your more than welcome here....
The schedules are shifting....theres pretty much nothing anyone can do about that....and a shift is 9hrs including lunchbreak....so its 8hrs of work with 2 15min breaks and an hour lunchbreak. If you work beyond that it is overtime and CVG pays OT per minute:bashful:

we very rarely hire externally for support positions....but no harm in sending your resume....email me your cv and I'll see what I can do....:) sibilly316i@yahoo.com
On the contrary, we ARE open to external candidates for support positions.

You may proceed directly to the Convergys Commonwealth branch. That site has their own recruitment office and it is open 9-6pm, Monday to Friday. Bring 2 hard copies of your resume and a ballpen. Suggest you go in the morning because the recruitment process does take anywhere from 3-5 hours depending on the number of applicants. Be prepared for interviews and a computer based call center simulation exam. Suggest you also bring something to snack on in case you get hungry while waiting.
Good luck.

HansMon
Jun 5, 2008, 10:44 PM
For a fresh grad like yourself: College Educational attainment (pls do not include High school or elementary), achievements/awards received in college, organizations joined, any work experience (whether summer job or practicum or if you were a working student), at least 3 character references (not related to you).
Please do not include irrelevant information such as Marital status, weight, height, religion, names of parents, names of children or hobbies.
Good luck.

Do I also Need a NBI Clearance, Tin Number, And SSS? I friend of mine told me other call centers also require those documents.
HansMon
Jun 5, 2008, 10:59 PM
Yes you will be asked to present these but only AFTER you have passed the entire recruitment process. If you already have them with you, then by all means, bring them when you apply. But if you do not have them yet, it does not disqualify you from applying. If you pass and are told that you will be hired, you will be given a list of documents that you need to submit prior to being presented with a formal job offer. Focus on passing the recruitment process first. You will be given time to put those documents together afterwards anyway.
Good luck.

just be natural when you're being interviewed. relax, pace your sentences, breathe and smile. di naman sila naghahanap ng applicant na perfect agad pronunciation at enunciation ng words. syempre napag aralan naman natin sa school yun SV agreement so i guess okei na yun di ba?
and the interview is just about you. how are you as an employee, what are your dreams, what accomplishments you want to have.
i guess the secret is not to try too hard in impressing your interviewer like you pretend to be this kind of employee when you're not because during the course of the interview they would know if it's the truth or not.

Hi guys, i will be signing my contract on tuesday with cvg cmw. Uhm, i just have this question:
During my final interview, i was asked if there was any company that i did not include in my resume (for my work history) and i said, Yes. it was actually a fast-food chain and i thought it was not relevant to include in my resume since i am applying for tsr position. And so the interviewr put the name of that company in my resume and the year that i worked there (it was 2004). However, i had a hard time remembering the year that i worked there and so i told him that it was 2005.
Do i need to correct this? I'm going to cvg cmw this tuesday to sign my contract.

you might want to inform the facilitator of the job offer to make the necessary changes on your forms. at least pag pina-run for a background check, tama yung info na nakalagay aat lesser chance na ma-ding ka :)

If I remember right: nine hour shift but NO OT paid if your last call happens to get extended because it was a sup call or required you to fix something about the customer's account.
You can also add to that your teams pre-shift or post-shift meetings which can last upto an hour depending on the TL - most of them are insensitive: they don't care if you are dead tired and sleepless.
There is also that thing which they call split-shift which means you might go on break for more than one hour so that extends your shift to cover for times when they need more people without them paying for OT (they might provide you a small allowance to cover for that compared to a real OT pay).
On top of it all, to make things worse when you already overworked underpaid and shortchanged - you'll find that sometimes you'll have deductions in your payslip for NCNS/lates even if you had perfect attendance. To comfort you, your TL will probably tell you that he's had more discrepancies in his pay before - that makes sense :bop:.
Convergys is notorious for these. So think about it before you sign that contract.

you have to checked with them. when did you sign your contract? you're right! originally it was set for June 16 but when i came back there in their office last friday for my contract signing they told me it was moved to July 28. i didn't sign yet on the contract then since i was having second thoughts because of the long wait that I will have endure before i start working. it took me the long weekend to decide if i should take their offer. came tuesday morning june 10 that's when i decided to take their offer. so i went back to their office and there i was told that it was changed again to July 21.

It really depends on your account....its either 10 days or 12.....CCT is Communication and Culture Training....it focuses more on your commskills and how to deal with american customers, this is fun....you play lots of games and mostly activities that would help you express yourself better... PST on the other hand is Product Specific Training this is when you learn the ins and outs of your Account....this is where things get a bit more serious...

At last, after my 5-day training in Innovate, I passed the final validation. The interviewer gave me a hard time but fortunately and by the grace of God I passed the final interview.
She already gave me the list of requirements. I just want to ask about some of the requirements:
-I already have TIN, but it says here in the list that I have to submit 2305 form and have it stamped. Do I still have to do this? I'm just a fresh-grad ( with no working experience yet)
-Another, Do I have to apply for Philhealth number by myself or can Convergys do that for me already?
-About my TOR, it will take 1 month before I can finally get my copy. Can I just pass my ID, Reciept of TOR Request, and certificate of graduation? Thanks.
I really want to sign the contract already and be part of CVG family...
I'm just soooo happy....:)

-I don't have any Philhealth number right now, can i just pass the M1a form instead? Do I still need to go to the Philhealth office or can I just fill-up the M1a form and pass it on CVG.
-With regards to BIR, Is TIN not enough as a requirement? Do I really still have to get the form 2305 in BIR eventhough I'm just a fresh-grad?
I'm also wonderin' when I'll have my medical exam. After or before contract signing?

Yesterday was the last day of our 1-week near hire training. It was fun and surely did build up our confidence. We had a mock interview yesterday morning before they sent us back to Convergys in the afternoon for the post-training evaluation.
And so I went straight to Convergys after the training, the "Friday the 13th" superstition did not stop me in going for the final interview. My interview went very smoothly and I did pass.:) I was then endorsed to take the computer based exam and later after that I had my job offer. I already signed my contract yesterday and I requested to be assigned in Alabang which is practically 10 minutes away from where I live. They endorsed me to an account which does customer service for a satellite tv company.;) My training starts this July 18 and I am so glad to be part of Convergys!

about your TIN, if your TIN is not the same RDO code as with CVG then you need to have it changed so that they can remit your taxes to the correct RDO (regional district office) check with CVG (whatever site you will be assigned) what's their RDO code and compare it with yours
for your other questions, im not really familiar so you can ask our friendly HR peeps for any concern/s

Ei, guys ask me lang kong convergys consider applicants with termination record in their resume?:mecry:
Why were you terminated? You don't have to answer that in this thread but think twice about how you will answer that when interviewed because we WILL do a background check on you and if the reason you gave us is different from the reason we get on the BI, that automatically ends your chances of acceptance.
We would prefer an honest applicant so if you were terminated due to performance, admit it and say you will strive to do better. If you did not resign properly and thus, were "terminated" in the system of your previous company, be prepared to explain why you did so and again, admit to the error and say now you know better.
The people that get a 2nd chance are the people that admit to their mistakes and that kind of maturity can be spotted by the recruiter.
Now if you're a "hopper" and are just looking for a higher salary or a better company, the reality you have to accept is that eventually, your salary will not seem enough or the company may not be good enough for you and you will always find reasons to leave.

im planning on applying for a TSR post sa Commonwealth but my friend told me its Bellsouth...mahirap ba yung account na to? ala kasi ako alam sa netwotking/net connection troubleshooting....
ikaw lang ang makakapagsabi kung mahirap ang isang account or hindi. just like me, i worked for a bank (chinabank) for 5years, then i transferred to another callcenter and applied for a financial account (retail banking) and when i transferred here in CVG, im profiled for a tech account. kahit wala akong background sa networking and stuff, go lang, aaralin naman yan at ituturo during PST. now im doing good sa floor. so no regrets na nag-apply ako for something na wala akong background before :D

Hewwuuuhh! Try mo pa rin mag-apply. I'm in my 3rd week of PST training and all I can say is, it's soooo much fun! We don't do anything at all, pero grabe nosebleed pa rin. :depressed: Actually, I'm not a techie person and I originally applied as a CSR in Commonwealth but fortunately, I passed the Technical exam so I signed my contract as a TSR. It's okay if you don't actually "know" everything because that's what training is for. Go for it or end up feeling sorry... :bop:

After 5 years, you are 50% vested. This means that if you choose to leave Convergys after working here for 5 years, you are entitled to a half-month's salary for every year of service. The salary that will be used is the salary you are earning at the time you resign. If you stay for 10 years, you are entitled to a full month's sualary for every year of service.
Take note, you MUST work a full, continous 5 years.
Makes you think twice about hopping from one call center to another doesn't it?

Thank God at least after waiting for 3 months, I already had a job!
With the least company I am expecting that I will be hired, surprisingly, I was now hired at Convergys...
I can't believe it... I was really elated and overwhelmed...
I just signed my contract awhile ago (June 17). My training starts on July 4 on its new site in UP Parkway...
By the way, is UP Parkway the one located in Philcoa? Is it beside HSBC and Manulife Building? I just want to have some clarifications.... ;)
I am just sooo happy to be part of Convergys family....*okay*:rotflmao:

What if you already signed the contract and the BI results were bad?

What if you already signed the contract and the BI results were bad?
Were you honest about your past? Because if you were, then the recruitment and HR team may be more accepting of that. If you lied about it or did not disclose fully, then I will refer to the paragraph in your contract that states:
Your continued employment is contingent on the results of your background investigation.
This means that if it is discovered that you did not disclose certain details on your interview, Convergys has the legal right to rescind the contract.

salary's fixed but competitive. there are also a lot of added incentives and benefits so you might want to look into that. some people would just like to get a higher salary and are somewhat blinded by the fact that they're going to earn more, not really looking into the added perks and benefits, so when they learn that the company cannot give them what they want, nagreresign nalang sila.:)

true, but when the salary is really low beyond expectations that would be a factor. salary is important, because the "added perks and benefits" wont really bring food to the table, would they? And when you said that "when they learn that the company cannot give them what they want, nagreresign nalang sila", that is precisely what negotiations are for..where talking here of pre-employment, not in the middle of some god d a mn forsaking career. capisch?

He might be referring to "added perks and benefits" as something that is monetary on top of the basic salary.
Examples of such are: X% night differential, overtime pay, meal allowances, rice allowances, transportation allowances, performance bonuses and / or commissions (for sales accounts).
And btw, it's Capisce. Capisce? *peace*

^ night differential & overtime pay is not considered as a "benefit" 'cause all employees are entitled to get ND and/or OT pay, as per the labor law.
HansMon
Jun 18, 2008, 09:01 PM
For the purposes of internal equity, the salaries and benefits we offer are what they are. These are not open to negotiation.
The benefits such as meal and transportation allowance are non taxable and are in point of fact, added income. So is the overtime and the night differential as is the rice allowance. All these go back into your payroll. All these can be used to "bring food on the table".

I'm curious about the supposed 'forced OT' that Convergy's is known for - are all agents pretty much required to render OT? How does this work exactly? Is this account dependent? Isn't OT up to the employee?
Also, assuming this is true, why is this? Isn't it cheaper to hire more agents and pay them regular pay rather than pay the OT rate?
I'm interested in applying with Convergy's (Ayala), as I live less than 10 minutes away - but my own time is very important to me, and I'm only looking for the standard 40 hour work week if at all possible.
Thanks.

@chuck: as far as i know walang forced OT sa cvg, well i can only speak for our account. we have open OTs and we try to have an average OT hours per agent but it's never forced, in fact may mga perks for rendering OT para maencourage din naman kami kasi nga they cannot force us.

Panu if ever bumagsak ka sa medical exam. Will they terminate your contract? or you'll just have to re-do the medical exam...
I don't have problems because I don't smoke, drink liquors, neither do drugs but what's bothering me is my eye vision. I'm near-sighted kc and medyo mataas grado ko (280). Makaka-affect kaya yun...
I also had some skin problems kc because I used to be an obese when I was still a child so I developed some severe stretch marks all over body. WIll it affect kaya my status?
Good thing is I already signed my contract with CVG, but they still have the authority to terminate my contract anytime they want...
I hope they will see nothing wrong with the result of my medical exam.
I hope everything will be ok and turn out right....

they are strict yes, but kung di naman ganun kagrave yun sakit mo they won't terminate you. if you're physicall fit to go to work bibigyan ka naman ng pass for that. but kelangan iretake mo yun med exam kung san ka di pumasa. just like me, i was already in training, then pinatawag ako sa clinic, sabi nun nurse yun result sa blood test ko nakita na mataas sugar ko so im suspected to be diabetic, so they just want to make sure kaya i have to go to a specialist and have the test again and i need to submit the result to them. so ngayon, nasa cvg pa naman ako and still working.
kasi stressful and trabaho natin so they just want us to be fit. mahirap yun pinipilit ang katawan magtrabaho dahil tayo rin mahihirapan, laging absent sa work wala rin sweldo.

Hello everyone. I had my final interview at CVG Commonwealth last Friday. I am so happy that I passed. :)
May I ask for advice? The interviewer gave me two choices. A full time technical account or a non-technical account. I do not have a choice yet. Can you please give me some background information about the two to help me make my final choice? I can adapt to any of the two so it's really hard to choose. I have to make a decision asap, I have all the required documents, I just need to submit them and make my final choice.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. God bless us all. :)

if you can adapt naman to any of the two, magtech account ka na.. may premium pay ka pa.
SOBRANG STRICT SACONVERGYS, if you call in sick, you have to call the SLC Desk/Reception , then call your supervisor, AND CALL your MANAGER to get an approval code , so that you wont be tagged as NCNS (Nocall,No Show)
BAWAL FLIP-FLOPS SACONVERGYS
bawal shorts or jogging pants KAHIT NA DRESSDOWN OR HOLIDAYS,
KAHIT BUMABAGYO OR baha na
bawal talaga flipflops kasi sa opisina ang punta mo at nde palengke/bahay/beach, shorts pwede naman, as long as it's a walking shorts and not short shorts, again sa opis ang punta mo

Makes you think twice about hopping from one call center to another doesn't it?
but is it true that once an agent decides to resign after 5 years, are subject to sign a non-compete contract for 2 years? meaning, they can't apply to another call center after leaving cvg?

hi peeps! na-hire ako for a part-time TSR post sa CVG Commonwealth, at nakaschedule ako for training sa July 7.
i received a call from cvg commonwealth hours ago, saying that i have to take a "pen-and-paper exam" until Friday, June 27. i asked them if it will affect my employment, and i was told that if i fail, my training date will be moved (later date yata), otherwise it will commence on July 7.
what is this "pen-and-paper exam"? is this necessary? can the Company move my training date even though i already signed a contract stating that it will start on July 7 (assuming there are no problems generally in the training schedules)?
please advise me. i really appreciate it. thanks very much!

i think so... they may move it because i too have received a call from them yesterday afternoon. my original training date was set towards the end of july. they told me if ever i pass the pen & paper exam, my training may start as early as july 7 but if i don't i'll start on the agreed date. i'll be going in their office today to take the test. hopefully i'll pass. btw when do you plan to take the exam?

@ill.fated.guy: hiring process would be just for one day.. as long as you started out early. kung di naman at least within 2days dapat tapos na
start ng training it depends on what account you're going to be assigned. my batching kasi yan so they will tell you when
some of the benefits would be the quarterly allowances, incentives (account based), retirement, educational assistance (if you want to study again) for the rest you can just ask HR *okay*

http://ciudadista.wordpress.com/2008/06/17/republic-act-9504-tax-exemptions-for-minimum-wage-earners-and-increased-tax-exemptions/
it seems that only minimum wage earners are completely exempted on taxes imposed on OTs. but the non-minimum wage employees will also benefit due to increased tax exemptions. it says that from the old law the maximum tax exemption is only P20,000 per year, but now in the new law the maximum tax exemption per year is increased to P50,000. in effect, this should lower the withholding taxes imposed on our salaries which should roughly translate to around P400-P600 increase in net take home pay (per month) for an average earning call center agent.
the law was signed last June 17, 2008 and according to the rule, "it shall take effect fifteen (15) days following its publication in the Official Gazette or in at least two (2) newspapers of general circulation.” well, it was published on the same day the law was signed by the president (June 17, 2008) and should take effect starting tomorrow, July 2, 2008. As to how and when it will be reflected on Convergys' payroll is still a hanging question, i hope someone from HR could enlighten us.

the law was signed last June 17, 2008 and according to the rule, "it shall take effect fifteen (15) days following its publication in the Official Gazette or in at least two (2) newspapers of general circulation.” well, it was published on the same day the law was signed by the president (June 17, 2008) and should take effect starting tomorrow, July 2, 2008. As to how and when it will be reflected on Convergys' payroll is still a hanging question, i hope someone from HR could enlighten us.
well, we just had our meeting with HR & Payroll a week ago, and according to them, they will implement it as soon as they receive the guidelines from BIR.. not really an answer to your hanging question, though..

I applied in CVG Ortigas and the interviewer handed me a regret letter after the first interview palang saying that I had errors in enunciation and reasoning. Hello? Me? Baka siya. Honestly parang Wowowee lang yung style nung pag salita nung interviewer, parang mang mang lang mga kausap niya which I didn't mind at first but it got irritating after a while.
Yung mga kasabayan ko sa interview, no offense meant, pero can't speak or pronounce a word of English to save their lives.
Hahaha. :rotflmao: IBM, Sykes, eTelecare, PeopleSupport and Convergys. Ok naman, tinitignan ko kung ano pinaka magandang company)
Ayun, I FELT SO INSULTED that I applied in CVG Makati the following day! (Bawal ba yun? Diba may one month na waiting period? Pero bahala na. Hahaha. :rotflmao:) I got hired the SAME day. and apparently I aced everything and I didn't have to read the tongue twisters.
OnStar yung account ko, billing and finances daw. I know what OnStar is, I've seen the ads, pero ano ba to talaga? Masaya ba dito? Gusto ko ng General Motors na merchandise! Hehehe. Or kahit SAAB lang.

hi guys! I just wana ask a couple of questions about CVG
1. kasama ba sa non-compete clause nila ang telus? (i'm currently working at telus kc & m planning to work for CVG)
2. Do they allow applicants to apply at their hub even if those applicants currently has a job but would like to work for CVG?
3. What TSR acct do they have?(pls list those acct)
4. How much Tech premium do they have in a TSR acct?
5. Toxic ba work sa TSR acct?
6. How much do they usually offer ppol who have call center background experience?( pls state basic salary)
7. Pano recruitment process nila?
*paki answer nalang po coz interesado po talaga ko mag apply sa CVG. Salamat ng marami :)

^^ hi nevermore.. i think those questions of yours would be best answered when you apply because the recruitment people will be able to answer it. kapag dito ibat ibang info ang makukuha mo and some of your questions are confidential in nature. even recruitment are not allowed to disclose that (secrecy of account).
for the hiring process, if someone can refer you it's better. but if not then just walk in then the process would start, from filling up the application form, taking the test, interviews and then job offer (the part where you can make your decision)

ok ba ang CITI account? dun kse ako ilalagay eh. grabe sobrang strict nila when it comes to screening of their agents.. may Unit manager validation interview pa after passing everything from intial interview up to the final including exams. Tapos after validation mag background investigation pa sila..hayy hopefully masama ako sa july 21 batch of trainees rather than aug8 napaka tagal pa nun. at parang hindi uso ang premiums for experienced employees. I came from a competitor been there for 4 years hindi man lang ako binigyan ng premium ng cvg. I heard they are giving 16k for that financial account.. pero parang mas ok na din kesa sa Onstar SBT na account 14k lang ang starting. grrr.. Ei guyz... i'm back...
I just started my training last Friday (July 4) at Insular Life...
At first, it's really nerve-wracking thing especially when you get to see your trainer... Whooo it's like what I am doin' here?! But since I'm already here, I'll just work my butt off and prove that I deserved in this position...
It's really quite hard on my part because I'm just a newbie in a CC industry and my other colleagues already have some call center experiences so I have to raise the bar higher and try to cope up as fast and as much as I can do...
We're now takin' CCT and we'll be back at Commonwealth after 12 days...
By the way, my account is DirecTV, it's a cable account. They say 95% of the calls here in ur account deals about "billing statements" so expect already receiving a lot of iRate callers.. (well goodluck to me...)
I'll be based in CVG UPNorth Science...
To all new hires like me, congrats to us and I hope we will all be regularized....:rotflmao:

Passed the final interview and looking forward to the training on july 21. Tech rep part time po apply ko. sobrang thanks po kay Mam Ann, Mam jihan, sir alvin, sir hermie, at sa laaht ng tumulong. At pansin ko lang sa thread is, sobrang picky ng mga tao ****. Bakit di n lang do your job, and do it well.
If u want something, go get it. No excuses.

As far as I know, you have to be an agent for at least 6-8 months first before you can apply in an e-mail/chat support....
And Ms. Jihan said to us, you can apply to a non-agent position after your 11 month in the company....
Actually, I wanna work in HR or Finance Department.... So hopefully someday if time will allow, I will be placed there... I just have to face the crucial stage which is the first 6 months.....

I didn't know na may Bayer sila sa same building and mas malaki daw ang starting because medical daw, Sayang. I guess I'll ask the HR person who is going receive my requirements.
Sa lahat ng call center na nag apply ako CVG pinaka maganda in anyway. Except wala gym but magkakaroon na daw sa Glorietta 5 na site? Is this true? and Sept daw ang start ng operations there? If yes then CVG is perfect na in my eyes. Hahaha.

Just a question....dun sa isat kalahating buwan na "naghirap" ka....did you actually work already? diba training ka palang nun? So you did not contribute in revenue in any way.....and pwede naman umabsent pag super important...your entitled to one absent....kailangan mo lang magsabi....since you mentioned NCNS ka I assume di mo rin nagawa yun.......and if I got it correctly they gave you a second chance since you failed a certain exam during training dun sa una mong account, and instead of being thankful for the 2nd chance given to you aabsent ka ng di man lang nagsabi....tapos nung na term ka dahil sa NCNS galit na galit ka dahil sa bond...it seems you put yourself in that situation....

Sbi ko na lang sa tumawag I would like to just wait for the result of background investigation and be part of the financial team kse pag lumipat nnman ako ng Onstar mag dadagdag nnman ako ng requirements eh settled na requirements ko for the Financial account. I don't know if it's just me, but CVG's starting to smell, feel, act, think like the ETelecare I left. Politics, cut-throat business, and all...:mecry:

application process is the same i think. you get interviewed, you take an exam then you get interviewed again and so on and so forth depending on how well you are on these processes and also depending on what their plans are regarding which account they think would best suit your skills. of course all of these are progressive. altho they are more keen in just about anything than the other companies i've heard about. i do have cc exp btw. just put it this way, you gotta make your interviewer understand you clearly because if you don't, how much more those americans you gotta be dealing with everyday? market yourself well, that's the best advice i can give you.
