Ortigas schedule for walk-in applicants is January 6-9 7:30 am to 5 pm. It's at the 24th floor Robinsons-Equitable Condominium Tower, just behind Robinsons Galleria (behind Poverda as well).

Sykes ako before pero di ganun ka-taas ang salary ko even if you include your perks and benefits once your regularized considering na 1 yr mahigit ako sa sykes *** increase is not that high... while here in CVG 25 is too high for an agent yun lang masasabi ko lower naman... saan mo na kuha *** figures na yan?

I sent my application to Sykes 3 yrs ago, I was offered 20k for the position of TSE. I turned it down because I want to work in a family business for experience. 20k? Nah, My pocket will be empty even before the end of the month.

I just had an interview with the operation manager his name is john then later that afternoon Frances told to go back for an interview with the senior operation manager which is Renzi Ramirez.. Actually dapat last november pa ako but I had a problem with my non-compete clause contract so they told me na impossible na... I was so suprised after a month I received a call from Frances that I will a schedule for interview at equitable tower in ortigas. i am wondering that they just called me up when they learned from their outsource that ambergris still give me a job offer inspite of my non compete clause contract. btw I am not sure whether I am in already or not.

Una: Can u give an idea whether I am in or not already? I applied for Team Lead position and I passed the exams and laso went to orient square for the training. I worked for technical support for one year already as team lead.... pls pm me so I would know if you think I am already in.. I really dont know what really happened with my final interview with Renzi..

Why a lot of people are trying to get themselves there? There are a lot of reasons, among them, the prestige of being with the top call center in the US. Convergys offers the opportunity to grow - careerwise since it is still establishing a foothold here in the country - pioneers get a higher chance of getting up in the corporate ladder! Many people from other call centers have found themselves stuck in the same position they're in a few years after they first stepped in the company.

Finally, the largest call center is offering higher rates and better benefits compared to other call centers. Would you rather get a lower pay if you're doing the same thing with the same amount of effort you're exerting? That explains why there are a lot of people trying to get in the company, including people from other call centers.

IT managers should have strong background in IT and networking experience. Considering that you'll be in charge of the whole center's backbone (which is the internet), the likely candidate for this position should have both the knowledge and experience to back this very important function.

Operations managers are people who basically take care of the production floor. They should be good in handling supervisors as well as knowledgeable about call center operations and how a specific program/ programs work and function. They coordinate with other managers from other centers having the same program aside from the client center itself.

yes I actually did sent Frances Libres an email asking for any update about my interview. Btw, I have a technician there and he told me that usually if you reach the senior operation manager as your interviewer for formality sake na lang daw. they would eventually call you for job offer na daw afterwards (if they have training schedule na) I just hope they would call me soon coz I cant stay for another 6 months here in my current job.

Kc from what I understand if they say your application is on active file, they mean that they will call you if they need you. In short nasa wait list ako kung trip nila :(...

I just wish that they didnt call me na lang for that interview kc at least nagconcentrate ako sa ambergris ko.... Kainis naman sila..........

Observer: they'll call you soon don't worry... that's if you did pass the simulation exam. It usually takes 3-4 weeks before they call for a final interview but I guess they're adjusting the dates since the company just had an open house.

wildflower: try other companies, too. I know you want to try it out here, but while you're waiting you might as well try applying in other companies for opportunities. Try to push yourself to other heights and not just limit yourself to one company.

Hmmm...malaman yang nasabi mo, kaibigan. I do have questions as to how they promote internal TL's as well. Have you any experience with this process anyway?

BTW, I just got the word that I didn't make it either. I realy didn't mind this until I found out that someone (I won't mention names) who is pretty much undeserving got in. What I meant by undeserving is HIS attitude of not being serious enough. He may have the people skills as well as the tech knowledge, however, di marunong magseryoso. I just hope that once he's a TL, he takes good care of his team and not play around like he always does.

1. Hiring yan - Makati or Ortigas (since both centers have recruitment officers stationed there).

2. Mahirap ba? -dat depends on how you actually view customer service...(hint, hint)

3. Ok ang environment, so far...

4. Mabait ba ang mga tao? - dats for you to find out (after all, we have our own opinions right?)

5. Salary - again, that depends on the offer you got, but it is competitive with other centers

Not yet, but I get that it will be by midyear (of this year that is). Hey, we've got a lot of interested clients coming in so I'd like to assume that everyone's working double-time to set up the center in Alabang and Cebu. I also heard through the grapevine that QC is the next site that they might work on after Cebu. It's not final, though.

hI!.... i did call the HR dept. of CONVERGYS.... they gave me a 7am- 3pm sked.... my friend was given a better sked (1 pm to 9 pm) I have a problem waking up in the morning too. haha .... I tried sleeping early last night but I still woke up at 7 am.... Well, kita kita nalang tayo. On my experience, the processing took only a week. I went there within the days indicated on their Ad and I was immediately entertained. The first screening was quite easy.... You only need to introduce yourself... then answer a "MS. UNIVERSE" question.... and lastly, we were asked to read a paragraph. After that, We had to wait for the presiding HR and she handed us out a letter that indicates whether we qualify or not.

For us who passed the first screening, we had to come back for the SIMULATION exam. The exam would take around 2 hours... and they immediately give out the results....

After the simulation, we were called up for the final interview....
then I had to wait for their call whether Ill be scheduled for the job offer. Not receiving a call from them would mean that your application would be put into the active file.

Hmm...yes, I believe that a coin has two sides but one must remember to check if the person has indeed looked at both sides. Yes, maybe there people who mayabang and stiff inside CVG, but it does not only exist in the CVG call center. There are similar personalities and even worse in other call centers. It's okay to have first impressions but what's bad is to assume that all people inside the company are one and the same. You can't avoid having bad eggs in a company. One must have a real-time experience inside the company before arriving to a conclusion. :shy:

As for CVG being strict, I really haven't experience it yet since it's just my second month. So far, everything is going well for me here. Chill people! TC!

Oops, I forgot to mention that I've heard horror stories from management down to co-employees in other call center companies. Kani-kaniyang pagkukunwari lang yan. There's no perfect company. I have yet to see one.

I've been with this company for 5 months now and one thing I can say is... this company SUCKS!!! Undeniably, it is the #1 call center in the US but the billions that this company earn in revenue do not trickle down to us lowly agents. The benefits suck... no transpo allowance, no hazard pay.. instead they rent a tiny tiny condo unit for you to stay in case calamities happen. Now how can you fit a hundred or so agents just in case that calamity happened? with regards to strictness.. ok, here's a list...

- thou shall not use the internet
- thou shall not play games on the computer (even solitaire)
- thou shall not change the wallpaper of your pc
- thou shall not remove your slippers
- thou shall not sleep on your station even during your lunch and break hours
- thou shall not decorate your workstation..
- thou shall not eat at the workstation
- thou shall not place your pillow on top of your table or on your lap. It should only be at your back..


On top of it all, the salary is not commensurate to the volume of calls we have here... And dapat magaling kang magbenta kasi pag bagsak ang conversion mo for 3 consecutive months ( the number of videos or cds or applications you processed), automatic termination ka.. so there... that's the #1 call center company..

It was my first day at work.... for the whole day we had a company introduction... so far, I liked what I saw. It was indeed very stable. It is growing and I think the company policies are fair enough. In fact, it is very professional. We also had the chance to meet some of the company heads and I find them really friendly.

Actually, its too early to assume that everything here is okay. But I would say Im satisfied with the company and the benefits that they offer. Im more excited about the training.... they claim to have the best training program for customer service reps. among contact- center companies. Even though after the probationary period, I wouldnt be regularized, I dont lose anything pa rin... In fact, I would gain something because of that training.

- thou shall not use the internet---MOST companies implement that because if you dont know, MOST call centers use VOIP or the internet to recieve/make calls from/to the U.S. So kung ganun ginagamit natin na technology, hindi talaga mkakabuti kung magbrobrowse tayo while recieving calls because we are using that meduim nga.
- thou shall not play games on the computer (even solitaire)---BAKIT ka nga naman maglalaro while on work? you should concentrate on your work coz U ARE BEING PAID for it. CVG is not paying YOU to PLAY GAMES while working ayt? and siguro naman LAHAT ng companies do have that SAME policy dba?I think you have computers in the pantry that you can use to play games during ur breaks.
- thou shall not change the wallpaper of your pc---I believe MOST companies has the same policy...minsan kasi depende sa TL mo yan e...pero sa team naman d naman bawal. i wonder who ur TL is?
- thou shall not remove your slippers----WHY will you remove ur slippers in the first place?you can remove ur slippers while ur sitting on ur station naman, d na siguro makikita ng TL mo yun. pero kung iba ibig mo sabihin, BAWAL naman talaga yan dba kahit saang company na magyapak sa office dba?

- thou shall not decorate your workstation----- thou shall not eat at the workstation---MOST companies do that also...kaya nga may PANTRY...if u are referring to eating chips or biscuits on ur workstation...consider mo naman muna yung nasa table mo which is the computer. kahit saang call center BAWAL talaga.

If THIS is ur first job, well maswerte ka pa rin sa karamihan na nagwork na bilang agent sa iba't ibang call center for more than a year. Simple *** naman, if YOU can't stand the policies here, better talk to your tl and sabihin mo lahat ng ayaw mo. Then kung wala pa din mangyayari, resign ka na *** kasi nahihirapan ka....wag mo na pahirapan sarili mo. Sori for being blunt, but its my nature to be like this.

As what I have posted before, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PERFECT COMPANY. Ive worked for 2 call centers na and nandito na nga ako sa CVG, so far okay ***. Hindi ako nangaaway pero guys magisip naman tau bago tau magpost. peace :)

Hmmm, sounds like the classic case of opinions clashing,eh?Anyway, here's my two cents worth, and I don't mind some comments here and there. After all, that's what makes a thread endure, right? I guess fairychild brought up the topic to solicite opinions (and boy diddy get 'em :argue: )


Converygs, by nature, is a customer contact center just like all the other centers here in the Philippines. It has its good points as well as its weak points. Any company for that matter has this basic duality. I understand that some employees are unsatisfied with their existing companies because (mainly) they don't get what they want, right? However, before moping and ranting about how much you hate the company and its policies, I believe that you should seek for answers first with the right people. I would like to insert what Ms. Penny always says (and personally, I believe should be in any case):

"IF YOU ARE SICK, GO TO THE DOCTOR...NOT TO THE POLICEMAN. "

As chillin_kyle has mentioned, most of our superiors are very open and approachable. If you feel otherwise, then there is always the presence of alternatives to take. It is up to you to choose and to face the consequences of your decisions.

The more clients (reputable ones at that), the better chances of getting more benefits and better compensation in the near future (not that I'm saying that what we have now is bad). I do agree with chillin_kyle's post and I just want to comment on some of the statements made by xuxa. Pardon me for speaking in Filipino.

Internet: Ang alam ko bawal gamitin ang internet for personal use. Bakit naman magsusulat ng love letter, magpapadala ng chain mail, at magbukas ng green jokes habang nagtratrabaho, di ba?! Bakit mo rin uungkatin ang buhay nila Demi Moore at Ashton Kutcher? Bakit mo hahanapin ang number one song sa MTV? May kaugnayan ba yan sa trabaho mo o dahil trip mo lang?! Trabaho muna, saka na ang sarap.

Games: Bakit maglalaro ng minesweeper, pinball, at solitaire habang nasa trabaho ?! Laro na lang ng Ragnarok suking Internet Cafe pag na-bore ka o pagkatapos ng shift. Saka may mga clients na umiikot sa floor minsan ano na lang ang sasabihin nila sa kumpanya kapag nakita nila ang isang empleyado na parang feel at home with Charlene ang ginagawa?!

Sleep: Kaya nga may sleeping quarters eh. Ano pa silbi ng sleeping quarters kung sa workstation ka matutulog?! Kakahiya naman matulog sa workstation tapos naghihilik ka pala. Tsk!

Pillow: Tendency naman kasi pagnasa lap ang pillow inaantok tapos dirediretso na sa pagtulog at paghilik. Diyahe naman kung tulugan mo yung client di ba?! Sa likod na lang para added support sa frame mo.

I attended most of the Convergys business briefing held yesterday at Tektite and found a lot of interesting things about Convergys. Allow me to give a summary of what happened last year and what will happen this year:

What was achieved this year (2003):
- in a span of 4 months, two fully-operational sites were put up (makati and ortigas)

- as of yesterday (Feb. 5), about 1,120 employees were hired of which about 3 in every 10 applicants were taken in (I'm not hundred percent sure about this though, but the rate given to us was very impressive).

-attrition (which is not a word in the dictionary, accdg. to our Country Manager) rate was kept at a minimum

-there were about 21 client visits, all of which gave a "more-than-favorable" response

-the program that I belong (tech) received an "A" rating from the cleints themselves, this being a first for an offshore Convergys center in it beginning stages (less than a year)

- I kinda forgot the others so if any of the other Convergys peeps can add some, please feel free to do so (same is true for the goals for 2004)

Goals for 2004/2005

- Alabang site should be fully operational by September, Cebu site by October (both sites having obtained a piece of land and is in the process of putting up a building for each site)

- 2 sites in QC (Araneta Center and Commonwealth) will also be put up within the year (If I'm not mistaken, by October)

- the 31st floor in Tower 1, Enterprise, Makati is due this March to serve as venue for more training rooms and workstations

- 14 training rooms will be set up in Insular Life within the year

- more Makati sites are being looked into for 2005

- like I said, this is only a partial list. Wait and see na lang tayo!

Depends pa rin. Since the company is still starting up, that policy is still "bendable". That decision would be based on need and available resources pa rin.

It is expected to be fully operational in October. Hiring and training should be earlier (I'm not really sure as to when that would exactly be).

I believe that the most effective way (as mentioned) is to actually visit any of the Convergys sites. You will be given immediate feedback since the Recruiting Department is currently processing walk-in applicants. Just bring yourself and your resume, and you're good to go.

I'm not really sure how quickly applications are processed nowadays since I'm part of the earlier batches and the selection process was pretty quick. If you do decide to apply or to check out the booths at the jobfairs, you can ask anyway.

I do admit that I'm also apprehensive about the rapid expansion plans of the company. Who wouldn't be considering that the company isn't even a year old. However, I still feel that our resources are strong. The comapny has been pretty stable and recognized worldwide, so I assume that our big boss won't let us down, as long as we produce results efficiently, speedily, and effectively.

In terms of looking into content, PST will depend on which program you shall be assigned to. Naturally, the tech support program will be more technical in nature (hehehe-well, duh!).

Passing PST will rely on your ability to participate in class, attend training sessions, and be able to comprehend the modules as well as apply them.

CCT is a lot different in such a way that it can be more fun than PST. But in PST, you will find what you need more on the floor.

Im actually afraid of the proficiency. Our trainer said, most people fail it..but good thing is... we can have several tries, till we pass......

Who said most of the previous agents were tekkie? We all had the same reaction as you did, sweetie. Admittedly, certification/proficiency is easier now than it was a couple of months ago. Stick to the call flows and sound confident (even if you're a nervous wreck).

After about a month on the floor, it'll be a piece of cake. Besides, you have great floor support, so don't you worry about getting the 1st call jitters (as well as proficiency jitters).

dipende sa letter na nakuha mo. there are 3 types of letters kase. 1st one is of course if you passed, 2nd is the letter wherein you'll be given the option to take some communication class ek-ek somewhere in ortigas then the 3rd letter if i'm not mistaken is if you didn't pass then you'll be allowed to re-apply after a year. i dunno if they changed the waiting period pero try calling hr nalang and ask them for updates good luck!

I'm sorry but it's not a goodbye for non-techie agents. The reason why the tech exam was given is to actually screen out those who can't handle the tech account. If they see that you have potential (even as a non-tech rep), they'll hire you no matter what.

By the way, we have two types of reps (for now) the Technical Customer Care Reps, and the Customer Care Reps (non-tech). Just make sure you know which one to apply for based on your capabilities.

natapos na po ako sa final interview ko sa convergys pagkatapos ng simulation tsaka *** isa pang technical na exam. sabi nila 3 days daw bago ko malaman kung tanggap ako o hindi. nung friday po ako nainterview so ibig sabihin po ba e bye bye na sa application ko kasi di naman sila nag txt or tumawag sa akin kanina. pero ewan ko lang kasi pakiramdam ko nasagot ko naman ng maayos yung mga tanong sa final interview e. ok lang kaya mag follow-up?

natapos na po ako sa final interview ko sa convergys pagkatapos ng simulation tsaka *** isa pang technical na exam. sabi nila 3 days daw bago ko malaman kung tanggap ako o hindi. nung friday po ako nainterview so ibig sabihin po ba e bye bye na sa application ko kasi di naman sila nag txt or tumawag sa akin kanina. pero ewan ko lang kasi pakiramdam ko nasagot ko naman ng maayos yung mga tanong sa final interview e. ok lang kaya mag follow-up?

the thing is, you'd know which information need not be divulged, by instinct and with the guidance of your contract

like the application system because giving steps and an idea how the recruitment system flows depletes the purpose of catching the applicant "off-handed." we also test the readiness of the applicant. and of course, you're giving these people a headstart over the people who go through the process on their own with no idea at all. like wave 1.

obviously, the compensation, programs, and trainings you've undergone should not as well be disseminated... duh

take note: almost everything handed down to you guys has a phrase at the bottom of the paper stating that these info are confidential

i had training with them a month after they started operations. training was ok...but then, something kinda got out of hand and that's when i discovered that management sucks...not being bitter or anything...but u can actually try to argue the situation. whew! pay is ok...they have like 20% N.D. program is ALL verbatim. duh. ul never get to practice ur brain....unless they put u in a tech support program.....goodluck:p
