like the application system because giving steps and an idea how the recruitment system flows depletes the purpose of catching the applicant "off-handed." we also test the readiness of the applicant. and of course, you're giving these people a headstart over the people who go through the process on their own with no idea at all. like wave 1.

obviously, the compensation, programs, and trainings you've undergone should not as well be disseminated... duh

take note: almost everything handed down to you guys has a phrase at the bottom of the paper stating that these info are confidential

Thanks anyway. This is mostly for those who haven't realized this even if the thread already went this far. If you go back to previous threads, there were already some reminders given but that was solely reminding Convergys PExers inquiring about client names and HR procedures. This gives us a chance to think twice before we post, aight? This is also for those who basically need a second round of reminders.

I do admit that I'm impressed at how far the company is going to implement this. Most of us came from call centers who did not practice this even if we did sign a confidentiality contract with our previous company. (Thumbs up!)

There are a number of factors needed for a person to be promoted and it's not just "porma" in terms of speaking or even having a good performance record. I leave it to you, my friend, to do your own research as to what you need to be promoted (anywhere for that matter).

when i resigned last mar5 sa epldt every1 was asking me if i will move to convergys, i said no, bec its in makati and la lang... besides i know that they dont accept applicants from epldt although i know ppl who were from epldt and now work for convergys... anyway...

my buddy and i walked in convergys this late afternoon
and when i saw the office... :rocker: so, i now understand why ppl like to for convergys

we had the init intrview with Ted whom was so friendly and jst what we have expected, we cant continue due to the noncompete clause... :sad:

i also thought of not including my job experience with epldt but i know somehow, convergys will still have a way of finding this out and it may cause a bigger problem if not, then thats good...

Yeah I heard that can be a b!tch. Not only call centers have that but I heard advertising agencies and some finance firms have implemented these in the contract for middle and upper managers. The nature of the job that merits a non-compete clause usually involves access to CONFIDENTIAL information such as client accounts, market segment data, etc. which can turn the tide when the employee gets pirated by the rival firm in the short span of time. Good for the employee, but bad for the firm's clients and long-term strategy.

The "call-center experience" for every individual varies. This is why some people feel stagnated and some are enthusiastic about growth within the company.Some got promoted ASAP because potential was seen in them or perhaps the company is really expanding. Some remain as agents simply because they haven't realized that this isn't really their line of interest (or perhaps they did realize it but just can't leave the job due to personal or financial reasons).

I believe that RP call centers promote growth and strength for the Filipino workforce (especially the younger members). Let's face it, non-call center entities mostly hire people with work experience and exceptional credentials (or through a kumpare/kumare). Oftentimes, promotion is pretty difficult because of seniority/"kapit" issues. I'm not saying that these aren't present in call centers, but promotion knows no age/no school/no work experience in RP call centers.

There are a number of positions w/c can be considered as a step higher in the call center corporate ladder, but the most coveted ones (by agents) are either TEAM LEADER/COACH or TRAINER. These positions are generally classified as supervisory.

Yeah I guess competition is tougher nowadays....I guess out of 100 applicants only 3 pass...so the passing rate is a measly 3%.

Personally, I feel that this is good. There are some people who actually think that call center work is a no-brainer, or perhaps it's for people (especially fresh grads) who have nowhere to go to.

anne373: As far as I know, the technical training is still part of the hiring process. Kung wala ka pang pinirmahang job offer, you're not yet in. Our probationary period starts when you start accent training.

Up to the final interview, yun final interviewer did not seem interested with the whole interview process..you will not feel welcome at all...parang feeling nila eh..eto na naman may dagdag na namn sa companya natin an dami na natin dito..and they make you feel that way OUTRIGHTLY...

You ask why I say these things...kasi na -experience ko rin eh. While my sister was applying, apply din ako just to while away time. At yun...

I know..I am not taking it as a whole, but then, yun nga sana.. the HR department would take it as a constructive criticism. Not because they already positioned themselves in a forward moving company, they would treat others (who are trying to get in) in an unwelcoming and belligerent manner. Yes, applicants sometimes may miss out some instructions given, but that does not mean give you right to conclude that they make the whole process "start on the wrong foot."

This is so unbecoming of the HR department of a company posing a receptive attitude to their applicants.

Anyways, I will still advise my friends to give Convergys a try. You are one of those companies who offer a competitive salarypackage.

I have the same experience too...this is during the jobfair at the 38th flr...after the initial interview I was told to have en exam schedule..the people at the 38th flr were all fine. But some HR peeps dun sa 7th flr nila were not too welcoming. There was this HR girl who administered the exam, and she was all so taray. She did not give clear instructions, so what happened some people started on clicking the call center simulation test...and when she went back to the room. She found out that some people had the test started. That does not include me. But I was confused too because, as I've said, her instructions were not clear.

This is what she said, "Did I tell you to start? All I said is READ STAGE 1!!!" Can't you undestand simple instructions?" Sabay buntong hininga ng malakas..."Haaaaayyyy..."

And she did something with the computers...then she said something na parang she doesn't want us to start on the wrong foot but its was not her fault...

We were all applicants there. No applicant would want to have the company they are applying for have negative first impression on them.

But then after that, may isang girl na ewan ko ba sa girl na yun, a-apply eh walang ballpen. So in all her infinite wisdom, inapproach pa nya yun exam administrator at kinaya pa nyang manghiram ng ballpen...

Tapos sinabi ng exam administrator sa kanya..."so, you're applying and you don't have a ballpen with you." In volume enough to be heard by all of us in the room...

So parang napahiya yun girl...

I really don't know but maybe the administrator was just having a long day..sa dami ba naman ng applicants nila. Kasi parang hapon na yun eh. But then, in other call centers I applied, I never encountered such experience. Call centers cater to customer service. I think such attitide should be first imbued by the HR Department.

I had the same problem last pay day. I had another problem the last two pay days - bumaba basic pay ko e ilang buwan na akong na-promote. Anyways, just ask for a payroll service form and fill it up plus, attach a photocopy of your (affected) payslip. Submit it to anyone in HR.

By any chance, are you with the technical program?

If so, here's an encouraging story for ya:

One of the agents started out with a score of 1.75. When he was coached by his TL regarding his stats, he shot up to a 4! Now he's a regular employee and a good performer at that.

Telecom...hmmm. Would that be the program for Alabang? Yep...it is one of our biggest accounts. One of our former TL's as well as co-agents are with that program now.

There's another tech program coming in and I'm lukcy enough to be part of it soon. It is definitely true that promotion is really quick. I'm from wave 3 of my current program and most of my "wave-mates" are already TL's/SME's/Quality Evaluators/Trainers, etc.

Take it easy dude. Don't be so hard-pressed with promotion! You'll get there in due time especially if you're with an early wave. There's lots of chances for everybody to grow in the career. Kaya mo yan dude! Just answer the calls well, be polite ALWAYS to your clients, and give it your best!

Una, are you with HR/training/operations/QE? Looks like your telecom account management team is a solid pack!

Btw, are there more chances to grow if you remain on the floor (agent -> TL -> OM....etc) than being in support (IT, HR, training, etc)?

DI10: I do agree with Zeratul... I truly believe that your time will come. It all depends mainly on these factors: your performance, your skills and capabilities, and very importantly, your attitude. Some of us were promoted w/in a span of 3-6 months on the producation floor. Some took a longer time, some got promoted quicker. It also depends on what BabyFats also mentioned - what is needed in the job itself and when it is needed.

Zeratul: I'm with ops as of the moment but by mid-May perhaps, I'll be moving on to training (wuhooooo!).

In reference to what BabyFats said, I highly advise all CVG employees to check out the HR/Recruitment bulletin boards for announcements as well as internal openings. You never know "which fish you'll be catching".

Yep...we have proof on the floor:

- a handful of new QSp's are from Wave 8...
- two of the POC's (Point-of-Contact personnel) just graduated from transition about 2 weeks ago..

I guess it also depends on the requirements of the job.

gusto ko lang i-share yung na-experience ko sa convergys sa ortigas. nagpunta ako doon para mag walk in. nung kinausap ko yung receptionist nila tinarayan ako. tapos inirapan pa ako! tapos parang may sinabi sya sa guard tapos yung guard nag asikaso sa akin. hindi ko nga maintindihan bakit ang taray taray ng receptionist nila. naghihintay ako sa reception area kasi wala pang nagpapatawag ng walk in. tapos yung receptionist kung sumagot ng telepono ang plastik parang ang bait bait tapos nung pinahold nya yung nasa phone, kung ano ano sinabi na parang pinapalabas nya na huwag nalang tumawag ang mundo sa convergys. eh hindi ba trabaho niya yon? tapos nung nag walk in interview ako ok naman yung taong naginterview sa akin. hindi naman nagtataray. kung iisipin nga, mas madami naman trabaho yung mga nasa HR pero yung receptionist yung masungit. kahit yung mga tao na nagadminister nung exam namin nakakaaliw. sila sila mismo nagtatawanan, pero makikita mo naman na pagod na sila. medyo mabilis nga lang magsalita pero nakakatuwa sila. tapos kwento naman sa akin ng isang friend ko nag final interview na sya sa convergys. yung naginterview sa kanya parang ang yabang yabang daw. hindi naman magaling magenglish, parang trying hard daw sobra mag english. tapos ang tagal pa ng interview. tapos kung ano ano pa daw pinapagawa na hindi naman talaga ganon ka-related sa pagiging customer representative. ayaw ko nalang banggitin yung pangalan nya. basta sabi nung friend ko, medyo chubby daw, babae, hindi maputi. pero overall, natuwa naman ako sa experience ko sa convergys e. kahit na hindi ako pumasa sa exam nila, ok lang. nakita ko naman na masaya yung environment e, pwera sa receptionist nila. gusto ko apply sa convergys and be tech support.
at the moment.. im working as computer programmer here at robinson equitable building at ortigas okay naman ang pay.. but it looks like the jobs in convergys are easier and lots of fun! and ive seen some offices of convergys here sa building. is it much much better that i go drob by and submit resume? and which specific floor is the hr dept? baka matarayan din ako ng receptionist eh :( is there any certain person that i should go look for?? please help naman o!

hey guys! need help! how can i talk to a live contact with recruitment?

i'm applying for quality evaluator. they called me up at home around 8pm last may 20 to sked me for an interview the next day. unfortunately, i wasn't around to confirm the appointment. they called me again the next day for an interview sked monday morning.... but then again, i wasn't able to confirm. i tried calling them but i'm always diverted to a voicemail. with no choice left, i left a message informing them that i would be available starting wed, may 26.

in all honesty, i failed to show up for the interviews bec i don't have enough money to go to makati where the interview will take place. i'm worried that they might not call again. i feel that i missed the boat coz my ofcmate is now on his final interview. i'm really devastated! :-(
