yung isa kong pinsan, took up hrm. my 2 pamangkins took up hrm. karamihan sa mga candidates sa beauty contests tourism din ang kinuha or pinag-aaralan. baket? is there such a high demand for graduates of those courses? o madadali lang mga subjects na wala masyadong science and mathematics? la lang...
just wondering...

Some schools offer OJT overseas, my brother OJT nya overseas, and we didn't have to pay for anything except the processing of the papers.

My sister took up HRA in UP and my brother wanted to take up HRM in UST.

Their reasons:

1.) The two reasons mentioned by KD, specially the 2nd one.
2.) Training in HRA helps you become a well-rounded person, when they go to hotels for their OJTs, they start from housekeeping to front desk.
3.) Exposure to the right people, if the hospitality doesn't work for them, at least they have the connections already.

Well, maybe they are simply interested in tourism in general. Not everyone chooses their major based on what is currently in demand. In case you didn't know, there are actually people out there who base their future career prospects based on their interests and what makes them happy.

1. masaya kase while nag-aaral ka.. (hotel tours, bar lab.. inuman.. gimiks..) kasama lahat yun..

2. HRM studes have the liscense to be vain and beautiful.. and mas naaalagaan mo ang sarili mo..
