To whom it may concern:

Lawmakers have created the best alternative for ROTC.
The creation of National Service Training Program (NSTP)
made it possible that the youth be expose to true community
service while taking college education.

I am one of the many students who are taking NSTP instead
of ROTC. I already have taken the NSTP-1 (equivalent to
two semesters of ROTC). In NSTP-1, students were oriented
of what is NSTP all about. After orientation, as a final
project for NSTP-1, we went to a baranggay in Makati city.
We went to baranggay Comembo. There we did FREE vaccination,
we gathered 15-20 grade school students and taught them
Math and English. Then we swept some of the streets in that
baranggay. I found it so fulfilling. It is tiresome because
it is work but I felt contentment!

The common problems we encountered is the fund availability.
Students pulled-out their own money for the project.
Some even borrowed from friends just to accommodate
the expenses for that project.

By this time, I together with almost 60 students take
the NSTP-2 (equal to two semesters of ROTC). NSTP-2 is mostly
going to communities and carry out a number of projects/services.
To do it successfully we need funds.

Let me first enumerate the projects that we have for NSTP-2

1.) Tree Planting
2.) Family Planning
3.) Retreat
4.) Educational Computer Games

More programs are on planning stage.

These programs will be implemented to the communities and we
are going to provide it FREE - the audience or the beneficiaries
which are the people in the community will not pay us.
We will pay for all necessary expenses. At this point,
we (students of STI COLLEGE - Makati) taking NSTP-2 would like
to solicit for some financial help. The money that we could raise
will not go to our own pockets but to the community.

Are there people here who are into public service?
Are you willing to extend donations at least 100 pesos?

Let me hear from you.

Thank You,

September 2002 pa ito. Graduate na po kami, close na po ang solicitation na ito.

Hindi ko alam kung may nagbigay nga pero as far as I know, kami-kami rin naman ang gumastos sa mga community service na ginawa namin. Anyway, it was a good experience din naman. =(
