Pathethic 'no? Pero eto lang ang puwede sa level ko. Puwede naman ako sumobra, yun nga lang P300k lang ang commitment ng company. Hingi ako advice sa inyo. What brand new car out there ang marereco nyo for a 600K car plan? Pagkakataon kong bumili ng brand new for around half the price e.
I'm considering the Honda City, Toyota Vios, 1.3 Ford Lynx at Hyundai Matrix. Kayo, may masasuggest kaya kayo? Should I defer it and wait for the Peugeot 206 (mga 700k daw ito) or kung matutuloy, the Ford Fiesta? Type ko rin mga hatchbacks e. Nalungkot ako nung nawala ang Toyota Echo.

actually that package seems pretty good already... kami nga masmababa ng konti tapos 30% lang ang babayaran ng comp...
Anyway, why don't you check out second-hand cars? You can get really good second hand civics for less than 600K...
Check out www.buyandsellph.com nalang muna...
Or depending on how your comp's car plan works, perhaps you could just make a downpayment and get financing from the dealer tapos invest mo nalang yung natira sa 600K after your DP... assuming of course that you're confident you can get the required returns to break even at teh very least :D

You have several choices in the P600K range, kasama na Chevrolet 1.5 or Jimny. Nagsasalawahan ka lang sa dami ng choices. For brand new, I recommend Toyota Vios. For 2nd- hand, punta ka sa Alabang Auto Exchange, baka makabili ka dun ng nice Rav 4 sa budget mo, i.e., kung payag ang company nyo na 2nd hand car ang bilhin nyo.

just curiuos How does a car plan work ba?

It’s like this: Depending on your company policy, an employee may be entitled to car plan either based on his position (manager, supevisor), type of work (office- or field-based), and length of service with company (2 – 3 years to entitle). The cost of the car is usually shared (employer/employee) 50/50, 60-40, etc. Some companies (pharma company, Glaxo, for example) shoulder 100% of the cost. Basta gagamitin mo lang and remain employed with them. If the car is loaned with a bank, finance charges are usually shouldered solo by the employer. Fixed monthly (or quarterly) maintenance and fuel allowances are usually given to car plan holders. The employer shoulders annual insurance and LTO registration and related costs. Car plans are usually for a period of five (5) years, after which, the employer facilitates the transfer of the title (ownership registration) to the car plan holder. Should the car plan holder resigns before the completion of the car plan scheme, he/she may be given option to buy the car, but would also shoulder the remaining employer’s share besides his/her remaining share. If it was a car loan, related finance charges for the remaining period would also be shouldered be paid for the employee who chose to buy the car. If the employee chose not to buy the car, company will return a portion of the accumulated amortizations paid by the employee during his employment. Yun.

Im not sure, what u mean solo. A car plan is usually given to an individual employee, if that's what u mean. So isa ka lang na magbabayad ng share, and it is deducted monthly from your salary. Usually 60 monthly payments (5 years). For example, you have a P820K worth of car; in a 60-40 sharing (company-employee) you would pay P3,333,42 (approx) per month for 5 years.
As for car loan, money in the bank is not as important as your capacity to pay, which u can demo by your ITR or proof of income. (I had a car loan before; simot ang savings account ko in paying the d/p.) You go to a casa or dealer and get a car loan. The casa would assist you in facilitating with a bank. Or you may go to a bank who offers car loan. You would be required certain docs. You should have current account (checking), because you'd write post-dated cheques--12 pcs for 12-month loan payment or 60 pcs cheques for 60-month loan, etc. But you'd be required to pay d/p in cash or dated cheque. The bank keeps the car's documents until you have fully paid. (Ang sarap ng feeling pag na-fully paid mo na ang car mo and nakita mo na yung yellow na LTO registration sa pangalan mo.) BTW, the bank would require you to get comprehensive insurance for the car during the loan period. You shoulder its cost.

hmm do you mean by 60-40 walang price ceiling yon? or if for example 600k yung limit can one add 200k so he can buy the car hel likes then the 600k is the only one that falls under the 60-40 5 year scheme? di ko gets coz i know yung iba they make dagdag so they can buy the car they like, but does it have a limit?

Pwede yon. Pero depending on company policy (if there is) on engine size (if your desired more expensive car has bigger engine). Yung ibang companies kasi may policy sa engine size. For ex: Only senior managers or opcom or mancom are allowed 1800cc or 2000cc cars; lower positions, 1600cc and 1500cc; the rest 1300 and lower. Some enforce his policy despite your willingness or ability to supplement the car plan budget.

Gee, thanks for all the advice and sorry if I just logged in just now. I got the Altis J, my company got it for a substantial discount! I could've gotten the Jazz if it were out a little earlier. Pero I'm pretty happy with it. Smooth and silent, if not a little generic. :) Thanks!

also interested to know if you got it brand new, what do you mean your company got a good discount, do you mean they are the ones who negotiate the price of the car? you just tell them what you want or the company gives you choices?
:)

320,000 lang yan to be exact pero spartan lang features (no power windows, 2-speaker cassette audio lang), though may power steering na and 1100cc EFI ang Engine. OK na for getting you from points A to B within the city, tipid pa sa gas. OK din pang-coding days para sa mga may pera pambili ng pangalawang sasakyan. :)
