dati sobrang dali makapasok **, kasi i have a barkada, he's a graduate of ece at mapua. indi pa sia grad nun, 3rd quarter ata last year sia na hire.

tapos ngayun i am applying there. i heard that there is an opening at that company on jobsdb. then jobsdb contacted me, i took the exam and passed it, know what's my score its 43/45. tapos yung speed test ko eh 35wpm. i passed the initial interview sa jobsdb.

then jobsdb referred me to contact world. a certain chinese girl interview us, she said it was the last part of the application process.

then interview na dba, it was me and a girl named joy (kinilala ko sia kasi maganda sia hehehe we exchanged celpne #). yung qualifications ni joy are: we came from the same school; same course din, ahead ako ng 1 year sa kanya. she was the cum laude at her batch, single din. my qualifications are: grad of it course from a reputable school, may 1 year experience sa call center industry at i have worked as a PRODUCT SUPPORT SPECIALIST for MICROSOFT. and we are both fluent in english. so we undergo the last interview, she said that for us to know the result, we shud contact jobsdb on monday kasi thurs yun.

so monday i contact jobsdb, the result of my application is negative daw. tapos sabi nung jobs db eh nung araw na yun 40 daw *** finorward nila sa CONTACT WORLD tapos 2 lang daw *** pumasa sa interview.

ano ba yun bakit ganun?

jologs- actually, may bad experience ako dyan sa contactworld. i was really pissed off.
they called me in for an interview for the position of trainer. the girl told me to look for this girl (and she gave me a name) and to arrive at 3:00PM. So I went on undertime (currently employed) and rushed to their office.
Of course, it was a cattle call (eTelecare does that as well but God, they are a lot more organized) but I didn't mind. When I talked with the girl at the reception area, she rudely informed me that they were not accepting any more applicants for the day and that I should come back tomorrow.
I was so pissed off that I left in a huff. Sila naman yung nagsabi na 3:00PM! The next day I received a phone call from ContactWorld. They told me the receptionist made a mistake and asked me to come back the next day.
I told them I wasn't interested anymore.

Question lang: Ganon ba kaganda ang company nila? Mataas ba sila magpasweldo? Feedback, guys. To be honest, I've never heard of them.

for messy. . . ganun lang talaga ako, iba personality ko ** sa pex, i'd prefer to be pinoy and jologs. but at work i was so professional, i had been a course trainer for english proficiency grammar sa call center dat i've worked b4.

the fool- mee to the receptionist there is so maarte, unprofessional nga daw un sabi nun friend ko dun, one time sinundo ko *** nililigawan ko dun, i was waiting sa reception area, napansin ko na may pag-ka-antipatika *** receptionist dun, sila nung lady guard ang mag-kasangga dun, yung receptionist feeling maganda, hindi naman, maputi lang. my gosh d nga sia naka-sagot ng straight english nung kausapin sia ng isang executive dun.

they have fair compensation but i like the job kasi inbound and so-technical, it is a help desk officer position for dell computers.

Altwegg: Okay. Thank you.
Mimi: By the way, what was your course again in college?

sa ortigas ba tong CONTACT WORLD?

kung oo, nagapply din ako dito tapos was called up for a morning interview. came there 30mins earlier only to be told by the receptionist that i should come back later that afternoon for the interview because they're not accepting applicants anymore that morning. HELLO??!!! they made an appointment with me and then they refused to meet me at the specified time! Very unprofessional! Never went thru the interview (the hell with them!) as I don't like to work with such stupid companies. Sa pag-recruit pa lang palpak na who knows what's in store for you when you're inside!

good luck sa inyo!

actually, may recruitment agency sila. may mirof na located sa legaspi village, makati and theres another one in Add-Force in Amorsolo, makati. actually, yung mga agency na yun, nag re refer din sila sa ibang call centers aside from Contact World. meron din sa Parlance, or sa Vocative ( yung mga ePLDT call centers). pero, pwede ding mag apply sa jobsdb. actually, hindi sila nag de direct hiring, lahat, puro agency. pero hindi ako sure kung may kaltas yung mga agency na yun sa mga salary ng mga agents.

akala ko rin nagha-hire lang sila under agency, pero in truth they do direct hiring din. natatabunan lang ata sila ng mga referrals ng agency. yun nga yung una kong tinanong sa kanila eh. kasi i was afraind that there'll be deductions in my pay since i'll be under an agency. they reassured me na referrals lang ang ginagawa ng mga agency, and that those who were hired will be under the company's payroll :D

My friend observed inconsistency in the way they hire people, including another call center(etelecare). She passed the exam, has experience in call center yet and an IT graduate from one of the top univ in manila, yet failed.

We don't have an absolute idea what they're looking for :). So we cant actually answer your question.

Well maybe you deserve a better company and direction of career.

hellloooo!?? How can you be an english proficiency teacher when you can't even construct your sentences correctly. Ok fine, you say it's Taglish. But the sign of a truly fluent and eloquent individual is the ability to maintain grammatical balance even when mixing languages.

"i'd prefer to be pinoy and jologs. but at work i was so professional, i had been a course trainer for english proficiency grammar sa call center dat i've worked b4." -->> absolutely no congruency. How can you expect to teach when you don't even know what you're talking about? No wonder some students never learn. I could probably teach you a thing or two about grammar.

Anyway, sorry for being so spiteful. My point is, you're not always as good as you think you are. For all you know, these people might have examined your application as objectively as anyone could have. Besides, who wants to work at a contact center? Where's the personal growth?

I applied last July through ADDFORCE, got hired 2 weeks ago, and will now be attending training on the 2nd week of Sept. CWI hires their employees directly and there will be no deductions to the salary.
My qualifications: 4th yr undergrad, Business Admin - MIS; no experience with any call center; and not really proficient with verbal English (honestly, I'm still learning :D). Maybe, it was just my luck coupled with enough confidence; I never met any chinese lady at CWI.
Maybe the reason why CWI had a hard time organizing their recruitment was that their hr was overwhelmed by the large number of applicants that were being processed; plus the fact that the company was recently purchased from ePLDT by 2 foreign companies. By the way, I heard that CWI started operations only last year with 100 agents. Now, they have more than 700. In other words, their organization is young and is still undergoing development.
One more observation: their style of orientation is not professional. The two orientations that they conducted recently were practically just question-and-answer sessions.

In any case, I think working with CWI has its interesting points despite its shotcomings. One key is their growth. They said they had many promotions just recently.

Hi, everyone!

I applied for tech support through ADDFORCE. I passed and am now scheduled for training. Let me share some points:

Actually, Job is for Direct Hiring
In our batch orientation, Contact World, Inc.’s (CWI) HR told us that we are going to be employed directly, so there won’t be any deduction on our salary as far as the agencies are concerned.

I was lucky, I guess
My qualifications:
-Good results in the tech and grammar exams, which were really easy.
-4th year undergrad (graduating with 1 subject)
-Business course, Info Systems major
-Not so perfect spoken English (I’m an average speaker; I prefer writing)
-Confidence, enthusiasm, a lot of practice

Honestly, I never thought I would pass the final interview. Maybe, it was sheer luck (and I never met the Chinese lady! ).

Long Wait
You’ll really have to wait! The process of application, in my case, took a total of three weeks (from initial screening to final interview). The 1st orientation schedule took a week of waiting; the second one took another.
Now, I’m told that the training (after being moved twice) will push through on Sept 8 – another 2 weeks!
Well, I’m that desperate; yet still excited.

Job Orientation Lacked Good Preparation
I guess, most of us would have a pretty good idea what a well-prepared orientation is.

The two orientations that I attended at CWI, simply put, were merely Q&A sessions! No slides, no lecture handouts, no program, and the white board seemed without a purpose! At least it was quick; I got to go home early.

In the second orientation, the speaker, who came in an hour late, made a tiny speech. She started with – “Are you sure you want to be here?” And then, as if meant to avert the menacing impression, she gave us a big bright smile! :D Then, she happily proceeded to discuss the top 3 reasons why at least 30 CSAs resigned this month. Anyway, at least she was honest!

CWI is new and still growing
I heard that CWI started its operations last year with only 100 agents. Now, they have grown to 700+. I could only imagine the pressure on their HR's shoulders!! Plus considering the fact that this company was recently purchased from ePLDT by two foreign firms, it is currently undergoing serious developments.

They said that they had numerous promotions recently. If you’re really good, and you’re team manager supports that, you can expect a promotion in a year!

The good stuff...
-Above average starting salary
-Good benefits package (includes an insurance coverage from Generalli)
-New hi-tech equipments
-Good chances for promotion to a junior supervisory post due to vertical expansion
-Will be handling pc tech support -- good for an IT professional

Therefore…
Setbacks in CWI’s handling of recruitment do create bad impressions as far as some applicants are concerned. But for me, I am still enthusiastic about the job. I trust things will improve as time goes by. All I need is more patience and more prayers.

hi shi_zilin! what batch ka? batch 13? me too sa sept 18 ata *** training n aatend ko. when k nagpunta sa orientation? nagpunta k ba nung august 25 sa 14 f , 7 pm? baka nakita m ko dun... or baka magkabatch tau... well sana para atleast me kakilala na me.. hope we could be friends... :*) teka, contractual ba sila? i was late kasi kaya un. saka bat daw hinde pa sila sure kung sept 18? hmmm... sabi nung isang friend ko tinawagan daw *** ng cwi noong july pa daw. eh until now wala pa rin *** job na yan... kaya medio nabobother ako. baka kasi masyadong matgal *** hihintayin natin... meron pa akong isang job offer, pasado n ako and all medical na lang kaso hinihintay ko nga yang sa cwi. sana maganda **** dyan kasi i dont want to have regrets naman sa bandang huli diba so un.

as for joey_sixdigit naman, go directly sa contactworld. di mo na kailangan yang adforce.or mga agency na yan. pass ka ng resume tpos after that mga after two days ***** or less eh tatawgan k nila. and they'll conduct a phone interview after that pag ok ka sa phone interview, interview ka **** ulit sa kanila. pagnakapasa ka sa interview pakukuhain ka nila ng exam. *** exam naman is madali lang . isang exam about sa computers and isang speed test or typing.whatever. basta un. after nun, sa2bihin nila sa iyo na tatawgan ka nila or wait for their call. if u passd the exam and all, baka after 2 days eh tawgan ka nila agad. so after nun iischedule k n nila. so hopefully if you pass magkabatch tau. :*) basta lagi k lang naka-smile duon. malay mo magustuhan k nila diba.pm mo ko kung me questions k pa.:D

Yep. i'm with batch 13. i got a call last week from addforce and was informed that the training will commence on sept 8 (monday)--- not on sept 18 as mentioned in the last orientation. let's hope this thing's for real.

joey_sixdigit:
Monday (Sept 8) na ang training ng batch 13.
I think they're still looking for new recruits so if you did well in the exam and the interview, you're in. Just be patient. It will be a long wait.

aina_crazy_girl....coach aina? hmm..

700+ techs na kami ngayon, the target is 1500 by June so marami pang kelangan.

By june, malamang me coach na sa mga batch 13 na training ngayon.

base on my experience, ok ang training **, accent and technical (the best). transition up to 2nd month napakahirap, mangangapa ka, almost half of our batch e nag-resign due to health reasons o kaya e nde na natiis ang pagmumura ng mga customers. 3rd-4th month, medyo napapaisip ka nang lumipat sa convergys kasi 16k basic dun :glee:

im from batch 7 nga pala, narecruit lang ako ng friends ko from batch 1 and 2, then me mga recruits ako from batch 11, 12, and 13

to bushi_princess and shi_zilin: see you there, goodluck sana ma-meet ko kayo.

the trick is, always take it easy!

anyone here have any idea how people commute to and fro Ortigas if their shift starts at 3am? is there an adventure to it?

Btw, i'm looking for a place to rent near ContactWorld. Can anyone help? Boarding house, bedspace, apartment, or dorm. Please send me info through email at shi_zilin@yahoo.com or SMS @09164152096. Thanks!

Hi, friendly peepz of this thread!
The training is quite interesting. American slang and culture training was interesting. I suspect things will go tougher once tech training begins. But my batchmates are up to the challenge.

Suggest ko lang po, ContactWorld peepz, let's put up a new thread for us. this thread is too specific. kailangan natin ng "home" thread. how about it?

:D
