CALL CENTER PEOPLE AND AFFICIONADOS. WHICH WOULD U CHOOSE AND WHY.
GENERALLY SPEAKING :
INBOUND: THE ONE WHO RECIEVES THE CALL, GIVES ANSWER TO THE QUERTY. THE ONE WHO HELP PEOPLE TO WALK THROUGH WITH CUSTOMER TO A POSSIBLE SOLUTION.
OUTBOUND: THE ONE WHO MAKES THE CALL, THE ONE WHO CALLS THE CUSTOMER, TELEMARKETING JOB MOSTLY, BUT OFTEN TIMES MAKE INQUIRIES, FOLLOW-UP AND ASK FOR LEADS.
=========================
I WOULD GO FOR INBOUND, LESS WORK. . . LESS PRESSURE AND THE BEST IS - NO QUOTA HEHEHE

SMi SERVICES,INC. IS A ****** CURSED PLACE!
damn! ive been there and worked as a "training" sales manager...probably the one in SM manila may be under a good management but the one in salcedo? thats worst than hell...i know its not good to bad mouth your previous job, but i just want to warn those who are planning to transfer and apply there...
in salcedo, the former name of SMi SERVICES INC. IS U.S. ASIA SOLUTIONS, INC. and i must say that it was a high paying job..happy working environment ...not until that JOEY RAMOS came...the new call center director....dont know if he's gay or what but i must say he's so unprofessional...if he doesn't like your ways, he'll easy dehire you right there and then.....
we were in good terms in the beginning ...but when i got involved with one of the other managers, he got in the way and made paki alam!....he dehired me THRU TEXT...and when i asked what were his grounds for dehiring me, they cant say a thing...so why would i insist, right? i believe i have my talents ...thats not the only call center in the world!!! i transfered......
they've been deducting TAX from our salaries and when some of my officemates checked it at BIR, they found out that they werent putting the money under our account....
even CHANNEL 7 went to that ****ing office in salcedo for an ambush interview but they were too COWARD to face them....
now, im planning to sue them and have ABS-CBN take charge because they put my income tax return on hold! they wont give me my check!!!
and its even on our contract that they cant easily dehire SENIOR AGENTS or the pioneers of the company!.....
and they hire those who speak well in english? I DOUBT IT! they only want enthusiastic poeple even if you dont know how to construct your grammar! IF YOU PLAY DUMB , YOU'LL EARN MORE MONEY..thats their policy...because as an agent, your only role is to pitch the client and the managers are the one who will close the deal......
PEOPLE THERE NOW SUCK! UNLIKE BEFORE!! MANAGEMENT IS SO UNPROFESSIONAL>>>>ESP WHEN THAT JOEY RAMOS OR THAT JOSE RIZAL RAMOS CAME...thats his complete name....
so if you want a stable job, think twice...
they have so many KALTAS, COMMISSIONS wont be given on the said date.....UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE, BAD MANAGEMENT and the call center DOESNT HAVE ANY AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM!!! so hot......
its along salcedo st in makati so beware....7th/f 180 salcedo st.

Even if I never worked in a call center before, I would always prefer doing outbound. Not only do I get more money that I earn doing things my way, but also I like the fact that it is more aggressive and challenging. :)

I originally wanted to get an inbound job... The reason was, the pressure is less in inbound. And there's a big chance na petiks ka. In inbound sales, the people you talk to are already interested in the first place, so it's easier.
But I went to outbound. And if I were given the chance to go inbound, I'd definitely say... 'f*ck you, you dirty inbounders!' :D j/k
I've learned to love outbound. I'm even learning to *gasp* enjoy sales. It's very challenging and there's a lot of pressure, but there's also a lot of fun and is very fulfilling.

Guys, guys...
I do understand that we have some very deep resentment towards some of the companies we're working for. I believe that it would be best to address these concerns to the proper authorities, though.:(
Since this was originally intended to be a poll, what we're getting here is a matter of opinion and preference and not of which one is better. Being in inbound or outbound has both their strong points as well as weak points.
If you'd ask me, with the nature of my personality and health, I would like to be in inbound customer care. I'm currently in inbound sales which creates some pressure related to outbound. In the same manner, I also receive misdirected calls that are related to customer care. I find myself at home calming down really irate callers, and it's a fulfillment for me!:*)

Inbound customer care/tech support.
Been tired of being in outbound telemarketing especially that I realized that selling (over the phone for that matter) isn't really for me and therefore isn't making me happy either. I see myself more as a person who provides assistance rather than one who cinvinces something especially for a short-term gain.
I don't give a rat's arse if I won't earn as much as what the top telemarketers earn (spiffs, commissions) if I make a career change (which will become a reality in the coming days though), but what I see to it is if it would really give me contentment and happiness. :)

Outbound's cool. There's a sadistic thrill in manipulating those who hate you. :grindvl:

Question. Will that ever give you satisfaction guaranteed? The US Federal DNC List has in a way curtailed -- even in those accounts based on EBRs (existing business relationships) -- such thrill.
Even the bullcrap that doing outbound telemarketing is but an extension of the company's customer service is nothing but a big fat lie.
You may earn spiffs, commissions, but oftentimes makukunsensya ka rin.
Just my take after realizing that outbound sales isn't for me. (Just don't call me a looser for that :D)

i worked as an inbound CSR for more than one year before i was transferred to the outbound project..well i guess outbound calling is better coz once youve reached the quota you can do whatever you want already..and what's good at being an outbound CSR is that you can manage your own time. ;)

Depende. Malas mo lang kasi pag outbound andun ang presure. If you're not the kind of person who hates pressure, then outbound telemarketing is not for you.
My PhP0.02. Kanya-kanya lang namang opinyon yan eh.
