Don't you just hate it when you spend so many thousands of hard earned pesos to buy a computer system, only to find out the games you like are in one way or another not COMPATIBLE? What a scam!!!!!

what system do you have anyhow and what game did you buy or were you planning to buy? I'm assuming you got a PC and a whole lot of the commercial games are available for the PC so all is not lost. Have you tried Half Life from Sierra?

Eboy,

I've been an avid PC gamer for many years, and I have yet to find any problem with compatibility issues for PC games.

The only thing that keeps my PC from running a newly-purchased game is that my machine is too outdated for the latest stuff. For example, most of the titles nowadays are require 3d hardware acceleration -- and to date, most computers sold in the Philippines (unless they're top of the line) do not come standard with hardware acceleration.

That's the only problem I've encountered to date, and to solve it I just had to bite the bullet and buy a new 3d card!

I think that PC game developers have the freedom to push the envelope in terms of technology, as opposed to console developers who have hardware limits on their titles. The good news is that we end up with a lot of amazing titles.

I purchased lots of games/applications based on Windows OS, kasi yun mga yun ang laging nakikita ko sa mga compu shops and yet when the computer arrived -twas given to me from my cousin...hindi na raw nya ginagamit! holy gwapokaluki! hindi gumagana lahat! out of frustration, binenta ko yung computer(15k) at tinapon ko yung mga CDs...
yun pala ang computer ko ay SunSparc Station10 at Solaris ang gumaganang OS...computer ko ngayon Pentium 100, so far ok naman lahat ang mga games/applications running on a licensed Windows95 - at least!

Compatibility issues? whether its games or not, we have to cope with it. The Computer you buy today might not run the program/software that will be release tommorrow. kelan mo ba nabili yung PC? 1990? 1986? 2000?

Half-life is okay, doesn't require 3D vid card acceleration but looks very good if YOU have one. I especially like the mod, Counter-Strike, pero off topic na 'to. :p
