Are these worth the money a call center agent is earning? Read and comment. Thanks!

1. According to research, the best-documented health effects of working graveyard shifts are:

1. Increased incidence of heart disease
2. More stomach / gastrointestinal problems
3. Trouble sleeping / chronic insomnia
4. Certain women's health problems such as breast cancer and conception delays

2. Study finds graveyard shift may cause heart disease

More to come as our company's research progresses! :)

I guess that's why most callcenters have HMO benefits even for probationary employees.

Here's a tip, guys!

Drink green tea everyday and stay healthy! It's nature's wonder drug and fights all those ailments associated with graveyard shifts.

Of course, load up on the vitamins and the healthy foods as you guys need it more than the rest of the population who work the normal 9 to 5 jobs. :-)

working graveyard is difficult but fun specially since we're actuallly yuppies here, but I tell you working for a great call enter with the friends and relatives within sight is actually not work but FUN.:)

Health related problems might be a concern for some but if you keep a good habit of checking it regularly and adjusting to it you'd do just fine.

The only thing that's kinda bothering is the quality of sleep we get. It's still different to get some sleep while it's still night time. On the other hand, I'd give up that just to avoid rush hours. Whew! The "rush hour experience" alone everyday is enough to give a person a number of maladies.

normal 8-5 naman job ko
pero kakainis lang tlaga..when i learned that
we make these american companies very happy
because..minimum in US is around $6-7 per hr.
so it is like for that amount you can hire 4 agents
...but if youre a customer/technical support engr. in US, salary ranges a lot higher.....:( maybe they can hire 8 here for a salary of 1 in US ? :(

good thing i made a decision of ending my 3.5 year tenure in the graveyard, and took the morning and afternoon shifts. I usually had stomache problems during that time, but it was not that usually famous LBM thing.

Spadia, you're not alone dude.

It depends naman on how you take care of yourself e. If you know the limits of your body and take your vitamins and rest enough, you wont' have these. It's just that naiba yung working hours mo pero same old same old lang. Sheesh.
