i used to work for RCG IT for almost 2 years; my husband stayed with them longer. they took care of our H1B processing and the H4/dependent visas of our kids. di ko lang alam kung ginagawa pa rin nila ito - considering so many people are affected by job lay-offs. they took care of our relocation. pero like any other companies, talagang susulitin kayo and in one year, kinita na nila ang mga ginastos nila sa amin. sobrang bawing-bawi sila - laki nang tinubo nila. more than 50% ba naman ang kita nila sa singil nila para sa mga consultants nila. kahit ganoon pa man, we're thankful sa RCG for opening the doors.

Ok lang naman ang salary at benefits nila. Visit their website http://www.rcgit.com.

The RCG IT benefits package includes:

Generous health benefits for you and your eligible dependents, beginning on your first day of employment, with three different medical plan options, two different dental plan options and a vision care plan from which to choose.

Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance, both fully paid by RCG IT. Plus low cost options for Group Universal Life, Voluntary AD&D and long-term disability coverage.

An annual "time bank" of days, giving you wide flexibility for structuring your time away from work.

A highly flexible 401(k) Employee Savings Plan with immediate eligibility, allowing you to reduce taxes while building a retirement nest egg.

sa states, i believe ganyan pa rin ang benefits. i'm not sure about sa manila offshore office nila. about the management naman, in my case, wala masyadong contact with the management except for checking up with the client and the contract kung kailangan i-extend. basta happy ang client sa performance mo, happy na rin sila. syempre doon sila kikita.

I'm still working in RCG IT Manila, right now they are processing L1 (Intra-Company transfer) visas not H1 after 6 months of stay sa company. I already have my L1 visa and deployed here in Maryland. Staffing kami dito sa client and we are still earning there in the Philippines (Php) + per diem ($35/day). We already have a notice regarding the processing of our green card (permanent residence) here, they sponsor that.

Like other companies, kung minsan bakante yung employee, naghihintay ng bagong project or naghihintay ma sign off yung project. Kung bakante ka (bench) pwede kang bigyang task na hindi related sa inaplayan mo para mapakinabangan ka nila. May mga nagreresign pero marami din nag aaply. No binding contract. They do not want yahoo messenger and any other form of chat. But our president have chikka installed on his machine (di ko lang sure kung sa office or sa bahay, nakwento lang nya dati). Yung ibang employee merong msn messenger since kasama sya sa installation ng win XP. Maraming development project sa java/j2ee platform, karamihan offshore. Sa VB/.NET/C++ di ko lang alam sa ngayon. May mga local clients din. Yung entrance exam sa ProveIt (www.proveit.com). CMMi level 5.

Yung ibang benefits na mention na ni inaykupo. Di lang ako sure dun sa last. Additional benefits include referal fee, project bonus every three months in the project (25% of your salary ata ang max), rice subside (Php 500/month) upon regularization, OT pay.

Smart casual ang attire from mon-thu, pwede mag jeans pag friday. Merong night shift depende sa project/client.

The rest tanong nyo na lang specifically.

401K kasi yata applicable dito sa U.S. for retirement. the company matches a percentage of what you invest. parang for every dollar, may matching 25-50% yata tapos may maximum percentage allowed lang ng annual salary mo - 7% yata. di ko na matandaan ang exact percentage number. kasi din, when you enroll to this program, di siya kasama sa taxable income. also, you can pull out the money till you're at a certain age, otherwise may penalty fee. normally kasama talaga ito sa benefit package.

i think they'd accept applications pero they would prefer those who already have valid working visas (EAD) or those who are permanent residents/U.S. citizens. kasi i'm not sure if they still sponsor H1B visas. siguro what you can do is try it out with RCG Manila and take the route that dogi took - maging employee ka ng RCG Manila then they can give you L1 visa to be able to work sa U.S.

Application process:
- First you need to apply, you can submit your resume to jobs@rcgit.com. Specify in the first part of your resume your career highlights and and technical skills on the position you're applying.

- If you are qualified you will have an initial interview and
online examination (www.proveit.com). The types of exam depends on your skills specified in your resume (eg. Java - Web Services, EJB's, J2EE, Servlets, JSP's, .NEt, VB, etc). I think alang nakaka perfect dito and it means pag bumagsak ka sa isang topic not necessarily di ka qualified.

- After the examination there's a technical interview. Pwedeng isa lang ang mag interview sayo or panel. They will focus on your technical skills specified in your resume. After this technical interview, they will decide if you are qualified. They will inform you within the week.

RCG yata means Reliance Consulting Group, a subsidiary of Reliance Group Holdings (I got the info from this ---> http://www.teckchek.com/case_studies/case_study4.cfm).

I used to work for them from 1997 thru 2001 (RCG US). No bad experience with them. They laid me off for a short period of time but rehired me naman.

Sarap ng L1...... sagot ng company lahat including board and lodging. Minsan kasama pa kotse (rental). Yung kaibigan kong L1, libre pati shipping ng gamit (nagpadala ako ng TV at HT, hehehe). OK lalo pag sinagot GC mo!!!

Yung Pinas-based RCG employees, karamihan ng kilala ko consultants pero di masyadong mataas ang sahod (but malaki na ren compared sa regular employee).

Hi Guys,

Just want to ask if RCG is really ok. cause i am planning to transfer to RCG but still having some 2nd thoughts. I already passed all the interviews and tests. all that is left is the offer.

also, they are planning to outsource me to smart. Is it good or bad? how long is it for me to be placed in an offshore project? is career and knowledge growth in RCG ok?

Can you guys give me the pros and cons of working in RCG?

Thanks

Hi, I already have the job offer and contract ready but not yet sign it yet because of the following reasons:

1. My work will start at 9pm to 6am (Night Shift)
2. I have a contract bond

although the offer is not that bad for a 4years experience software test analyst, I think I should wait for a better offer/opportunity to come my way.

The RCG IT Philippines have conducted two redundancy programs (October 2008 and December 2008) and one termination program (March 2009).

How do I know that this company is doing legal business. They have placed people under employment bond which states that if employment is preterminated then people would have to pay at least 100k.

If this company is laying off workers why does it still have advertisements?

They are also sending people on onshore assigment on a B1 visa? Then are asked to sign a waiver form to file tax in the US instead of e Philippines. Aside from this they have another onshore bond which doesn't state the amount and as I heard some people are asked for 4M payment.

Please let me know what you think. Is this a legal business?

I'm not sure about this kasi dun sa contract ko sa kanila it specifically stated na L1 visa ako papupuntahin ng US. Di nga lang ako tumuloy sa RCG since binago nila yung client ko and I opted out of the contract because of this.

Beware of RCG... They have a hire and fire policy. They hire people and fire them on their first day if they lose the project you are supposed to be assigned to... They will definitely destroy your future as an IT professional as they have destoyed a lot of lives already and has a ton of cases with labor.

The recruitment says and promises the nicest thing but once your in they will treat you like crap. Crappy PC Terminals. All sites are block. Nothing. It's like a computer shop. Netopia has better PC's than them.

The politics here in this company are also rampant as you will not have a chance if you are not an *** kisser.

Please find another company to work for. Or stay in your current work. Remember they promise a lot but does not deliver on their promises...

Don't destoy your future with this company. Please pass the message to your colleagues.

I just like to comment:

RCG like any other companies(accenture, headstrong etc) went through some series of retrenchments and redundancy programs during the height of the US recession where projects in the US were either cancelled or placed on hold... so for redundancy....yes its true but give me one US based IT company that did not?

2nd, yes there was indeed a project which was supposed to start but has cancelled and those who were hired for the project had to be let go since there were no other projects at that time...

3rd, not ALL sites are blocked in RCG, only those sites that do not have any relevance to your work(facebook, friendster etc.), I can still do my online banking like transfer and pay bills and being a software developer I needed access to internet to research. I think this is better than when I used to work for another company where all sites were accessible, productivity was low and not to mention virus and worms finding their way into the network and cause work disruptions. Adding websense to these sites was just for protection.

As for the PCs, I have been to Netopia and I think I find the PC I am using right now better than the ones in Netopia..it's a slim Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM HP pc with LCD monitor. Yes there are old PCs in the office that are assigned to those who dont really need powerful PCs to do their tasks. It really depends on your task.

As for destroying future, well I have no comment on this....

I think every company has its own problems/dark sides or mistakes in decisions, its just up to the person to see if he has a future in the company he is seeking employment, complete research and knowledge will surely help...

As for me, I am still glad I decided to join RCG and not Accenture or Lawson (Accenture retrenched around thousands and headstrong also had retrenchment programs, refer to corresponding threads here)

I think the post above is just exaggeration....my advice for those applying at RCG just go ahead and apply and ask questions, know what project you will be in and its status. Ask details and also do some research.
