I heard from a friend that their treasury opening (before?) offered 20-25 a month depending on how your qualifications and how well you negotiate...

Not sure about the benefits but for this particular opening, there's no car plan plus they only give 13 months pay...

Apart from the salary and benefits, companies like Petron that move/trade products and commodities across different markets are usually good places to get treasury experience and training. International currency hedging, price monitoring and risk analysis are some of the skills one may obtain from such a job.

don't know about the other departments, i heard their starting salaries for engineers are higher than shell's. but engineering work in shell might be more interesting since they have the malampaya project. haven't heard of any big, ground-breaking petron-led engineering projects :)

diba normal lang naman na ganyan ang systema, because it gives the sales person a sense of accountability, hindi ka lang basta benta ng benta without making sure of how the clients pay.

Actually salespeople in Petron, i think, are not really into hard-selling. What they do is more on account management.

^husband of my friend works for petron (sales). that time, a couple of years ago, starting salary is 28K, with car, laptop and other benefits. may out of the country incentive din, last year ata sa europe pumunta.

downside - you can't stay in one area for more than 5 years. ililipat ka ng area

submitted my e-mail to: recruitment@petron.com. the list of job openings on their website is, if i'm not mistaken, not updated. so basta submit ka lang ng resume and they would invite you for an exam if there is an opening which kinda matches your qualifications. di ko na lang muna kwento kung anong position inaplayan ko kasi baka ma-jinx at walang mangyari, nakakahiya naman, hehe. :D

depot engr. few months ago my opening sila sa jobstreet. pero nung nagapply ako it was 2007 pa. tagal din nila magprocess. from submit ng resume to panel interview inabot me ng may 2007 to dec 2007.

Petron hiring process will take you 3months I think.
In Shell, ang alam ko lang is kapag nde ka nakuha sa isang department ifoforward ka nila ang resume into other departments my opening, pede ding sa ibang bansa....

i applied too in petron as a customer interaction assistant. luckily i was shortlisted nd currently being process already. i just took the final exam ysterday nd sna pumasa. 1 thing *** n mdyo worried ako is dhil meron ciang bond 2yrs ata based on *** d hr staff explained ul hav to pay 300k wen u broke d contrct. pro hnd **** lhat ng post s petron my bond *** post *** n inaplayan ko kc under cia ng marketing.

Petron is 90.57% owned by Ashmore and 9.43% by the public
SMC has a buy option agreement for a 50.10% stake

Petron is trying to raise funds by way of an issuance of Php 3B fixed rate corp note with option to upsize

Petron lost money last year, Php 3-4B, because they werent able to keep pace with a fast declining oil price, ie they had at least 2 month inventories bought at a high price when they thought oil prices would even go higher, instead oil prices declined and they were forced to sell at low prices. For 1st quarter of 2009, they have returned to profits of about Php 1B.

Still they remain the #1 player with about 40% market share. Shell is next at about 30% but has been on a steady decline. At 3rd is Chevron at 13%, gas stations are closing. The small players, around 90 of them have a combined share of about 17%.

Petron hopes to open 600 more stations in the next 8 years and hopes to widen the gap with Shell and increase market share.

Petron is here to stay. Thats why I wont be surprised if we come in with a Php 1B order for their fixed rate corp note.

i used to work with petron bataan refinery. ang masasabi ko lang eh palakasan system dito. if you wish to apply here be ready with your backer. kahit hinde ka magaling eh makakapasok ka dito. thats for sure. and most of all, and i dont like their safety practices. malayong malayo sa chevron and shell. maraming aksidente dito pero hinde lang nababalita. pero malaki din ang pasahod nila. pero ang gulo gulo ng union din dito ehehehe.

hi prettylicious06! kung wala ka pang narereceive na letter, maghintay ka na nga lang ng invitation nila sa next process ng application mo. siguro madami lang aplikante at talagang sinasala nila kaya matagal ang feedback sa iyo.

The only reason they ask is that they don't hire relatives of Petron employees (up to a certain degree). When I got hired, I didn't know anyone from Petron. Ganun din yung mga kasama ko. "who you know" doesn't apply anymore (baka dati when the company's still Government-owned). But of course, I can only speak for the Head Office... I don't know about the Refinery.
