watch kayo ng anc dateline phils. (12-1pm) matagal din xang nagabsent sa show at bumalik sya dis wk. at napansin ko parang nahihrapan syang magsalita but still he's the same ka kiko we loved and adored. the most briilliant and pinkamagaling atang mag-english and tagalog na news presentor. i dunno kung ano naging sakit nya. but still he's good.
sabi nga nya one time sya ang nakikicelebrate sa abs ng 50 yrs kasi 50 yrs na rin xang broadcaster and more pa ata at iniiwasan tlaga niya magabsent. except kung maysakit tlaga siya. he 70 + yrs old ryt?

Newscaster Francisco "Frankie" Evangelista died Wednesday afternoon at De Los Santos Medical Center.


Evangelista, also known as Ka Kiko, was one of the pioneer broadcasters at ABS-CBN. He was 69 years old.


He is survived by his wife, Patria, and three children. His remains are set to lie in state at Arlington memorial chapels, Araneta Avenue, Quezon City.

VETERAN broadcaster Frankie Evangelista succumbed to bronchogenic cancer Wednesday at the De Los Santos Medical Center in Quezon City. He was 69.

A staff member at the hospital's intensive care unit told INQ7.net that Evangelista died at 12:59 p.m. He had been confined at the hospital since February 7, the staff member said.


Evangelista was host to several news and public affairs program of television network ABS-CBN, where he worked for 50 years.

Philippine Daily Inquirer's Nestor Torre had written that Evangelista's continued presence on the broadcasting scene "teaches young viewers that seniority, experience, wisdom and principles still count for something these days." Lira Dalangin-Fernandez
