The mod should rename this thread to IBM Daksh.

I'm a new employee, about to finish my product training and here's my take on the company:

Hiring Process - Very good. I walked-in at their Recruitment and Training Center at Edsa Central Pavilion 3rd floor and logged-in at 3pm. The whole process took only three hours. I was offered the job at 6pm (although the job offer itself was presented the following day). The CRT (Central Recruitment) team is very efficient, and friendly. There are 3 phases in the training...the speaking test, written&typing test (iq and typing tutor), and the final interview (telephone skills test and interview). For each phase, the batch of applicants (in our case 6) will be constantly trimmed. Slips will be given to those who didn't make it saying that they can re-apply after a certain period of time. In the end only 2 of us were hired. I was really surprised because my sister applied in the company summer of last year...and it was a mess according to her. A lot of miscommunication...delays.. most applicants had to wait for hours. I guess they improved.

Voice and Accent Training - Very good. Our trainer was very strict about the English Only Policy and would make his class both fun and informative. What I like about him is that he would really focus on each individual's weakness points. Whenever someone would mispronounce a word, he wouldn't stop until that person finally corrects his/her pronunciation/stress/diction. I guess you really have to hire competent trainers in order to have competent agents. I've come to know some of their trainers..and from what I hear and see..they're all competent.

Pay - Good. Well, if you happen to read past posts, somebody here said that the pay isn't necessarily the highest, but it is above average. True enough, the pay that was offered to me wasn't exactly sky-high, but the benefits that go with it are very good. 15% night diff, meal and transpo allowance, perfect attendance award, medical and life insurance and performance bonus. What made me sign-up with IBM-Daksh is the name itself (IBM)..and its accounts which I think are stable ones (Sprint, United, Thomson, etc).

Environment - Very good. The Training and Recruitment Center is very conducive to learning..very clean and cold. The office furnitures are modern (especially the seats of the recruitment center). There are a lot of training rooms and the security is very strict. There is pantry where the food is cheap and there are free coffee and drinks. Restrooms are constantly cleaned and all in all the whole place is orderly.

Product Training - We had an American trainer which made the whole product training very credible. Coming from the American company itself...the trainer was very efficient and would answer whatever question about the account.

Career Path/Training - Very promising. IBM Daksh has a career development program called Six Sigma..and it's like an Executive Program for MBA students of top schools where you'll be certified to be a master or an expert for various project in different levels (yellow belts to black belts). I'm still a trainee now, and I'd like to think that one day I'll be one of the Six Sigma participants. There are also various trainings that employees constantly undergo..I think the company really invests in skills enhancement/upgrading to make them more competitive.

Ok, enough of the good ones..let's see the not-so-good ones:

Payroll - Very bad. They have 2 attendance systems (Sagacity and Weblogin)..and both are unrealiable. I've heard from many employees who are waves apart from us that salary disputes are a common thing in IBM Daksh..and that sometimes it would take months before it'll be credited back to your pay. The logging systems are always DOWN and you'd have to call IT department each time to have it reset. Which badly affects your pay coz they don't respond fast.

Production floor - Satisfactory. I've been to other call centers, and I can say that employee stations in Daksh (especially in Edsa Square) is very small and crowded. Desks are small and there's not much space to write and organize your stuff. The Edsa Square work area is like a MAZE where you'll have to walk a lot of directions just to get to your workstation. I'm really afraid of emergencies like fires and earthquakes. There is a pretty good chance that stampedes may occur since the hallways are very narrow and some of them have downward angles (does ULTRA entrance ring a bell?).

Anyway, I'm still new and I'll update you guys once I'm endorsed in production. In the meantime, I can say that I'm enjoying my training and look forward to finally accepting calls from customers. I hope this gives you an idea about the company.

hello! would like to ask feedback on your travel account, ok ba dyan? would like to know if ano yung scope ng work ng agent, may specific agent ba for a specific program o universal csr talaga from reservations, mileage, etc.

gusto ko lang po sana malaman before i apply. thanks

mikeymanzz
Jan 27, 2007, 08:53 AM
@michelles: it's specific per LOB / queue-wise. If you're just for Res - then it's only Res. If you're for Mileage Plus then Mileage Plus. If you're for baggage then you're for baggage (exactly!) and so on and so forth...

Yup there are Indians in IBM Daksh (management and production floor). They're nice and very professional to all employees...nationality shouldn't be an issue at all and we should be thankful also to them for bringing the company here.

I'm enjoying my stay in the company! There is a culture of friendliness and professionalism. I'm just afraid that we might be transferred to Commonwealth..oh no. I love working in the Crossing area..very strategic ang location. I might resign if we'll be transferred to Commonwealth huhu.

HR guys I need an update pls. Havent heard from you since last wk. I applied for email/chat last Feb. 2 and passed. Final interview was Feb 5. From then on I received 1 call telling me I was being recommended for a voice acct. and I said I prefer email/chat. That was the last.

I followed through w/ calls but I cant seem to reach the last lady who interviewed me (thru her local). When is the job offer? HELP!!!

I'm with the company for a little more than a year now. Before the system is really bad. SSS update online is always late.. If you file a SSS loan, the HR peeps will ask you to go to SSS yourself. Everything is a big mess.

However, now I started to appreciate IBM Daksh. The SSS is always updated and the HR peeps will be the one to process the SSS loan. When I needed certificate of employement I could get it in 2-3 days. They serve ladies drinks during parties. (well, they serve Asti MArtini last party) hehehe....

I love my account here. I enjoy working with my colleagues and my manager. We will have another exclusive party tomorrow in Antipolo... yipee!!!

Thanks IBM Daksh.....

I heard that IBM Daksh is migrating IBS soon.. Is this true? Meaning that IBM Daksh will close down and it will all be IBS. Years before Daksh is Daksh.. Then it became DAKSH IBM Subsidiaries (IBM is just a small name next to DAKSH). Then Now it became IBM daksh (lumiit ang pangalan ng Daksh). Sounded like after IBM became partners, IBM had more stocks than Daksh.. nako...nagagalit na mga bumbay nyan....

No worries, this is not at all true. :)

In fact, with the surge of new accounts, IBM Daksh is aggressively expanding and continuously hiring this year. Its new operations site is on the way, and who knows, more will be up soon!

In India, IBM Daksh is still one of the biggest, most respected and fastest growing companies.

So there's absolutely no truth to the rumors and both Filipinos and Indians are still very happy with IBM Daksh.

this 16k to 17k BASIC pay for a tech account is acceptable enough.. however, MAC is not as simple as the seek-then-click interface of windows.. lol.. must be the most complicated OS among others.. i just hope may bonuses plus good allowances yan to compensate those "toxicated" agents.. :D

good luck daksh! such a great opportunity for techies out there.. *okay*

May 6, 2007, 05:29 PM
You'll be surprised how easy the Apple account is. All I can say is that the fringe benefits as far as what you can access on the internet and the afterhours bonuses is by far the best here at this account than any others. The training is very good, by the second week of training you literally are ready to take calls causethe training is very thorough. From what I heard the whole of IBM Daksh is pretty envious of this account cause of how they are treated by Apple.

May 8, 2007, 07:23 PM
If ever I'll apply, can i choose the account? :D or it really depends on your educational background and experiences?!

Fellow Daksh IBMers!

Did you get an increase this payroll? We were really surprised when we checked our web payslips...we got more than we expected! And then we read the email of IBM Daksh president Jajo Quintos informing us of the Salary Increase Program to be more competitive in the industry...WOHOOOO! I love IBM. The company really takes care of its employees and now we're even more motivated to do our best. Even sweeter in my case because I got regularized last month and it's only now that I got a retro credit of my salary increase..plus the salary increase starting this payroll hehe. :D

Thanks IBM Daksh.

hi guys! balak kong mag-apply sa IBM. in relation sa huling nagpost, gusto ko sanang humingi ng feedback sa strat at va training nila (like ok ba *** training? ok ba ang mga trainers? sino ang mga trainers na ok at hindi at bakit? mga background and attitudes ng trainers?). gusto ko lang sana malaman para in case matanggap ako eh mejo alam ko na ang ugali nila. tulong naman from ibmers who are undergoing training, kahit na *** mga tapos na sa training at nasa floor na. di ko muna concern ang product trainers. first hand training kc ang accent kaya un na muna. thanks in advance guys! :naughty:

STRAT means you'll be undergoing PEN1 in STRATA 100 (ortigas)/
or if you prefer
training in makati... (PEN1) will be in ASIA PACIFIC COLLEGE
MAKATI... (allowance: 300/day, 4-day training)

if FAILED PEN1, there's PEN3 (100 days w/ allowance half of
300.00 pesos)

if you pass PEN1 (preparation for VA TRAINING ---2 weeks)
you are officially hired na by IBM DAKSH.... salary based na.

can't divulge salary range... but i think its almost the same
as SYKES/ AMBERGRIS basic offer...

and yes... citibank is the financial account...

;) ;) ;)

Ask ko lang po. How come walang mid-year bonus sa IBM-Daksh? diba its mandated by our local labor law aside from 13month pay...employees will also get to receive their mid-year and annual bonuses? I think we should all be entitiled to a mid-year bonus...SIP is different since its a yearly merit based on your performance...
anyone here from Daksh HR?

The Philippine Labor Code never mandated a mid-year bonus and even an annual bonus...only the 13th. month pay is mandated[passed during the time of Marcos] based on the base-salary.

You can search the whole labor code and I assure you that nowhere can you find a law mandating a mid-year and/or annual bonus:

ok..thanks pare.. i hope daksh would offer a sign in bonus again..:) and hopefully give a premium rate for an L2 tsr agent..

IBM DOES give a sign on bonus which is split up. As far as a L2 tsr agent, there will NEVER be an L2 tsr for apple in the philippines, only in Apple owned sites, meaning primarily the US and Canada. This is confirmed by Apple, sorry..

^^ yes, we do have those in some accounts as sub-processes. but, when you apply, i dont think you will get to choose where you will be assigned. you may perhaps mention it during the interview that you prefer a back office processing job.

Super-hirap ba yung Apol account nila compared to the likes of Dell? Do they demand perfect manners, grammar, fake accent, etc or ok lang naman?

Nakakaloko dito. Some dude called me to conduct a phone interview. I said sure. After the interview, he told me to visit their site for another interview. I came and passed the interview but then I was told that they can't take me since I only finished two years of college. So my time and money were wasted. Why did they ask me to visit their site if they already know from the start that I'm not qualified?

This not only happened to me. Another applicant met the same fate as she only went through two years of college.

Any more tips on the Apple account such as metrics, promotion criteria, etc? Any sales required?

Are they also very strict about only accepting college people who finished at least 3 years? Kung trimestral yung school I guess pwede na two years right?
