I am working in a call center but instead of taking calls, Im taking e-mails ^___^ meron na din Remote Assistance or chat support.

The different CCs have their own threads in PEx. The big ones like Convergys, Etelecare, Sykes, PS & etc. have websites. (eg. www.xxxxxxxxxx.ph)
Most of them are located along Ayala and Buendia Makati. Sykes HR in Ortigas.

at sa AskMeNow, we cater to cellphone users especially blackberry users. customers send a question, via email, text, or call a question in (which they really rarely use) and then we research it and send back the answer to them.
The best description of this service will be like horoscope or kapamiltext that globe or smart is offering to cellphone users here

i think its funny because agents always talk about Convergys being the best or being the top call center.... kung alam nyo lang :-)... i think convergys is good; dipende nlng kung saang account ka mapupunta... kung sa mga special accounts ka nila mapunta malas mo... pag sa telecoms or networking accts mas astig :-)... wud u believe i know a trainer na hindi fluent mag english?...
but i think cvg is good

i think nyope :love: it will not based on your simulation "thats so lame" ... you should be on the right place at the right time.. if they dont have any openings for the training of a certain acct they'll gonna put you kung saan may openings.. syiempre theyll not going to train 3 to 5 agents only :D .. and if you can have a great deal to your recruiter eh di mas maganda

Nobody wants to work in a call center. They are forced to apply because of the cash and benefits and were attracted to full page ads in every sunday newspaper.
The purpose of ranking call centers is to encourage attrition.

I wouldn't say NO ONE WANTS TO WORK THERE. Some people like to help customers. Pero I agree na if there was a better day job with the same pay then they would rather have it.

at teletech roxas, we work 7.5 hrs/day @ 5 days /wk. ganda ng place. parking. kahit 3 wheels mo sabay sabay. the place is not hi-rise unlike your 2xth flr. we can afford 2 sticks of yosi per 15 min brk. and man, what a place to party pag meron occassions. what's more SM Bay Area will be THE place to gimmick when SM Mall of Asia and the rest are completed...BTW, kasama na kami sa PBL

ang stupid ng tanong 'no? less stressful nga naman kasi ang pagreply via email/chat rather than handling calls na 50-80% of the time e irate...

vxi...malaki commission di mo na iintindihin ang basic mo na 10 thou kung non regular at 12 thou kung regular.PERO....PERO...at PERO pa ulit!bababa ang tingin mo sa sarili mo dahil kayod kalabaw ka talaga!
11 hours PER DAY, 5 days a week at 30 MINUTES lang ang lunch break!split pa ang days off....masaya kasi malaki talaga ang sweldo every other fridays pa ang swelduhan....pero pag nagtagal iisipin mo kung tama ba ang ginagawa sa yo sa kumpanya....iisipin mo kung tama pa ba ang trato sa iyo na walang pakundangan magtatanggal ng mga empleyadong regular na walang proper reason...asan na ang karapatan ng mga empleyado?!pag holidays na dapat pribilehiyo mo na off set pa!masaya ba na kumikita ka nga ng malaki para lang sa ikamamatay mo?!ano yun nagiipon ka para sa pagpapagamot mo?!para sa pagpapalibing mo?!
maganda kung titignan na nasa rcbc isang prestihiyosong bldg sa ayala pero natatakpan ba talaga ng bldg at sweldo ang karapatan ng mga empleyado?ganun na ba tayo kadesperado?!

Convergys is overrated. I have some friends who are now resigning from that company due to office politics and mismanagement issues.
To balck_death: you're right I know someone very close to me who works there and is dying to get out. Politics. Yes. Pero in fairness, siguro depende sa program. I really dont know about other programs. I know that this program(clue: wireless provider sa U.S. Cant give info cuz I might get into trouble), really sucks.

anyways, convergys for me is overrated. Being number one in the industry in the U.S. (or in the world) doesn't mean being number one in all aspects).
For me it's still:
1) PS and Sykes.
2) eTelecare.
nothing follows.

I guess it really depends on the management and the company goals. Well, I know this call center that used to be put the employees on top of its priority list, but when it turned public more than a year ago the company turned exactly the other way around and became extremely profit-oriented. Nakakalungkot lang because their salary structure isn't as competitive as before and they're losing a lot of their veterans and pioneers... what's more disappointing is that this company still says "our most important asset is our people... Tsk-tsk! With the rate things are going, other companies would answer back "Our most important asset WERE YOUR PEOPLE." :lol:

Kung gusto nyo ng totoong L2, Resolution Specialists also known as L2 sa Dell is open since Feb 13. Mag apply na kayo sa www.dell.com/manila dahil isasara na nila ang posisyon sa July. Ang sweldo 27,000 basic hindi pa kasama ang overtime at night diff dahil kailangan nanjan ka hanggang matapos ang last agent sa team mo sa calls nya. Wala pong taking ng calls ang L2 sa Dell. 2 1/2 months ang "petiks" training.

my top five are as follows:
1. Ambergris Solutions: Good Pay, Class-A Facilities,Good training! Good Management and Reputable Accounts!(diverse from utility, tech to inbound sales customer service.) Good people(most of them are from up, dlsu,ust, ateneo, miriam etch...) and definitely the perks and Incentives!
2. Convergys: Reputable and solid international reputation(however, we pray that they dont become a fly-by-night call center...)
3. People Support: Strong when it comes to tech accounts! Honestly I dont know much about them. Good environment as well like ambergris a lot of their agent and support staff are from up, dlsu,ust, ateneo and others...
4. Source1(formerly Ccube): Good Training.
5. Sykes: Good Working environment.
bottom five? no comment!
Covergys? Fly by night? Come on. Convergys actually had to decline some of the clients. :lol:

duh?!? now if this ain't the biggest bunch of BS i ever heard! i applied before in etel, hindi ako tinanggap kasi daw undergrad ako. but now things are changing... sa dami ng mga call centers dito, and 4-6 more (not sure) ang papasok by mid year, these companies have no choice but to hire undergrads... kasi in fine fairness, some of the best agents i handled were undergrads. they have much more to prove than graduates. being an undergrad myself, naranasan ko din yan. pero ngayon, ay sus, hindi na uso yan. wag ka nga lang mamili. if you get into one, work smart, learn the ropes, then move on. when you gain the experience, lamang kana over the newly grads, kasi experienced kana. hehehe... sorry got carried away. i still can't figure out why some shortchange themselves kesyo undergrad, and makes them inferior... hehehe... peace tayo bro! or sis...
PS: hehehe... problema lang sa iba they want to strike oil on the first dig... always looking for the quantum leap. tip ko lang, do it when you have the experience to back up your demand... kaya maraming hindi masaya sa call center. hehehe... OT na, but sana maraming matuto from my two cents worth. oh BTW, hanggang ngayon tumatawag sakin ang etel, eh masaya nako sa work ko. maybe next time...
SUPER AGREE naman ako sayo *okay* i myself was an undergrad when i entered the call center industry. yah, di din ako tinanggap sa ETEL, Convergys chaka PS dahil nga daw undergrad ako. But I proved myself (with lots of prayers hehe) na makakawork din ako sa call center and have a take home pay na makakatustos sa studies ko. I'm glad natapos ko din pag-aaral ko, salamat sa callcenter na nag-hire sakin although undergrad pa ako that time :bop: totoo sinabi ni LinuxMandrake na mas determined yung undergrads dahil may gusto sila patunayan sa sarili nila. In fairness, yung mga top call centers na nagdecline sakin before e tinatawagan ako but i'm already happy na po sa present job ko :D i just hope na bigyan nila ng chance yung mga wala pang call center experience or undergrads na may potential naman, di ba guys? *peace*

was fortunate to have worked for peoplesupport and now convergys.both are pretty cool actually.also heard a lot of good things about etelecare.ps and cvg are very good bets if you want to start off your call center career.i'll have to say cvg does pay better but for some people it's not all about the money.both are stable since they both have capital investments in various parts of the country so it really looks like both of them are in it for the long haul.got really good training from ps when i was there and the people are cool but i don't like their non-compete clause though.its actually not the same as the standard bond that other cc's have.the non-compete clause means that you can't work for any other call center for a period of time after you leave the company.good thing i left ps before they actually had that clause inserted in their jo's.btw the cvg healthplan sucks.from what i've read from this thread (if the claims are true) i just can't believe how some other call centers treat their people.i'd like to see a special government department actually working on this.i mean since gma praises the industry so much why not create an entire department for it?hehehe...i just can't believe that an industry that has been attributed a significant portion of GNP growth has not had any relevant laws passed for it (like penal laws for heartless call center scams).

well... march pa tong post na to & after 8 months, CLIENTLOGIC turned out to be 1 of the WORSE call centers in the phils.:lol:

Nucomm (now Transcomm) used to have less 100 employees. Mas ok ang palakad. sa bulok na ortigas building pero pinakamagandang management na na experience ko in 5 years sa industry. Now that Transcomm is gearing towards having 5,000 employees..ang gulu-gulo na..parang jungle.

Dell is the number 1 call center, 24k starting and after 6 months you'll get a increase of 10k.
The worst is First Source, all corruption, and with Nikki stealing money from agents and has a pending estafa case with convergys and tax evation case with bir, no wonder she got a range rover and a bmw within a year.

e-pldt- claims they are the first 100% Filipino-owned call center in the country...
could have been a good thing for Filipinos, but they suck big time in security, salary, and HR policies.
takes away some amount of money for a minute or two of being tardy, but never pays for an hour or two of over time for their so-called team meetings or QA rally...

HAHA! Dream workplace ang RCBC?? MALUNGKOT AMBIENCE sa RCBC PLAZA pag gabi... Siguro mas okay pa workplace na as in owned by the company talaga... Like CVG & PEOPLESUPPORT.. TELUS.. mukhang mas masaya pa yata sa PBCOM.
Mukha kasing buhay na buhay eatery sa gabi na nakapalibot.
Siguro ang YOSI AREA SA RCBC ang pinaka magandang tambayan,
kung yosi addict ka. May hotdog kiosk pa naman din.
Although working in RCBC pag graveyard may catered food yung callcenter company namin before, pero nakakasawa ang food/ tapos medyo pricey pa. Kaya 7eleven/TropicalHut(konting lakad mo na lang eh mararating mo na SYKES BURGUNDY)/ kahit yung burger stand MINUTE BURGER sa tabi ng RCBC ewan ko kung nandun pa, kasi walang kainan na bukas sa loob ng RCBC. Kapag nagsawa sa catered food. Ang buhay lang na kainan sa RCBC Plaza eh yung cafeteria ng mga guards.:rotflmao::rotflmao: (magtiis ka sa kulob at init)

According to what i've read in INQ7.net's IT section that call center is just a fad, probably it will ceased in 2007.

AMBERBASE (formerly EPIXTAR) ang pinakajologs na CC sa lahat. salary, account, facilities, pati employees nila jologs. sobrang unprofessional. mga warfreak, palengkera't, asal squatter silang lahat. yung may mga position pa yun ang asal squatter pa of all. ganito bang klaseng mga "tae" nirerepresent ng jologs na kumpanyang ito? sabagay basura naman silang lahat. lolx.
isa pang nagpag-jologs ng company na to, i've heard recently may isang palenkerang employee na gagawa't gagawa ng kasinungalingan at skandalo just to hook up with some one. how classless & pathetic can you get?! siguro desperate at hindi makakuha ng papatol sa kanya na matino ang itsura. sideline pa nya siguro pag dayoff hooker, at mga wrinkly dirty old coots lang clients nya. lolx. :lol:

oo....malaki talaga dito...one of the most competitive sa entry level kaya lang madugo ang labanan...kahit wala kang call center experience
basta college grad pasok ka na sa banga....yun lang para kang kukuha ng board exam...kasi you need to pass the series 7 and series 63 licensure exam para makapag product training ka or else tanggal ka sa work tapos may bond k pang 20k.....series 7 and series is a licensure exam for you to sell US stocks ....u r not an ordinary agent but rather a licensed US stockbroker ....so pag pumasa ka sa exam ka level mo na yung mga stockbroker sa new york stock stock exchange...
sila yung mga nakikita mo b4 na nag sisigawan sa stock market..ang sosyal di ba.....hahahahaaa..that is kung pumasa ka.....hay naku baket ako nag po post dito dapat nag aaral na ako for the exam...hahaaa...anyway in response to your question here is your answer..teka hanapin ko muna sa baul yung contract ko haaaaaaa......dyraaaaaaaaaaaaan...eto na ***

Pay was good when I was with Infoxx (now KGB). My basic was just 15k yet I earned at least 20,500/month. If you're good, you get almost 10k more because your 100% QA score each week is worth 2,400k. If you want to earn more, you sign up for OT. You get 150% - 200% rate plus 100pesos worth of GC, starbucks or SM. Isn't it quite a salary? And you get to speak in that British tongue!

I had 1500 di minimi. 2500 productivity pay. and 2000 travel allowance. The performance incentive (100%QA) is actually PHP 60 x # of hours) so if you rendered OT and hit that 100, oh, that's payday indeed! I lived the good life. But as the song goes, some good things never last...

may tumiklop na raw ata na account ang KGB e. Nagwork din ang wife ko dun nung mga 2005, sobrang ganda at the time dahil every other friday may 10k na net. Pero hindi na raw ganun dito ngayon, lalo na nung naging KGB.

JP Morgan Malaki offer dyan sa fraud, okay din comp and ben (alam ko ang net mo dyan 20K+ per month kasi may friend ako na nagwowork dyan ngayon sa Bonifacio Global City ata). Pero haggard naman masyado, kasi financial account yan.
Maraming ACS kasi, pero kung Advanced Contact Solutions yan, okay siguro kasi sister company ng Stellar yan, mataas ang basic most of the time, especially pag tech support, pero walang maganda sa comp and ben, pati HMO wala atang kwenta.
