internship? do a resume and cover letter and send to the HR of the ad agency you are targetting. now here's a real brave thing to do - send a copy of the same two documents to both the president of the ad agency and the department head of the department you want to intern in (account management head for account management, media head for media, creative director for crestives). bakit???? well at least one of the 3 will read your papers and hopefully one of them will take notice.

learn more what you need to put in the cover letter and resume.

dont keep such high hopes on this internship - you might not learn much. actually depends on your objectives on why you want to intern. if your objecive is just to get a feel on how it is to work in ad agency, you will get this. but more than that, i doubt you would get more.

is this something you are doing to earn money? or just to get the experience?

MOST clients dont want interns working on their accounts because of confidentiality. also, most agency people do not have the time or the patience to train interns.

BUT, if you are really good and you muster enough courage to kick butt - you just might have a job when you graduate.

anything is possible, of course. just keep the expectations at a realistic level.

manangkrisel: yan din ang gusto kong gawin eh. pero strict ang agencies sa internship. undergrads lang ang alam kong pwede.

astrea_luna: alrightie. i'll resend it.

abcxyz: thanks for the tips. truly inspiring.

thanks ;) you really should get the information on your own. start making the phone calls and get the info yourselves. get any phone book yellow page.

look at it this way - if you share information among each other - all of those with the same information will most likely contact/send CVs to the same ad agencies. that means effectively you are sharing VALUABLE information with your COMPETITORS! why would you want to share info with your own competitors?

and if you are the recipient of the information - why would you send your CV to the same ad agency that already has the CVs of the others?

in case you have not noticed - it is a COMPETITIVE world out there. very many people are going after the same exact thing you are going for. and the one who wins the spot is the one who gets there first and/or is the better candidate and/or the candidate who presents herself/himself as the better candidate.

advertising's (and marketing) very own essence and what it is for is - WINNING THE COMPETITION, its about being better than the other and being smarter than the other. get into that attitude as soon as you can if you want to get into advertising.

this sharing info and asking for info thingy - i dont get it! go figure...

you are missing the point, does not matter who you are doing it for and for what charitable reason which of course is always commendable. all i am saying is this - if you want to land the job, do it on your own and keep it a secret because the person you are sharing it is your competition and can very well be the person who will be accepted rather than you.
