Not just any debit card... you need special debit cards for that, like those linked up with "e-gold" type accounts. ikobo.com also offers that.

I think these use Mastercard and there's a surcharge for withdrawing locally from "Cirrus" terminals.

how about VISA Electron? Mastercard Electronic? btw why does ebay ask for your debit card when you plan to sell items? and why "not just any debit card"? can you elaborate further?

make it clear! medyo malabo eh!

are you going to pay the item using debit card as mode of payment? or they want you to deposit the payment on their debit card account?

your asking if madedeposit ba yung pera sa debit card?

yes.

i have mtv debit card from equitable bank.

its connected with your regular savings account.
kung magkano *** ang laman nya yun lang ang pwede kong gamitin.

if you run out of money just deposit money again dun sa account. your debit card number is your account number.

they want you to put the money on their debit card, its the same thing as depositng money on your regular savings account etc.....

I think you misunderstood.. I know how debit/credit cards work. :)

What I would like to ask how does those "Online entrepreneurs" or "Online seller" that sells merchandise internationally (in other countries, like selling at ebay) collect the payments for their merchandise? pwede ba gamitin yung "DEBIT CARD" like VISA Electron or Mastercard Electronic?

The bad thing is that Paypal does not support Philippines.. :o

I have no idea how you can receive payment via debit cards, but I think EBay uses them as a means of verifying the user's identity.

yes you can.. using VISA Electron, it is possible to purchase or shop on the internet... but my question is how about if you plan to sell merchandise online can you use your debit card or what is the method to use if you plan to sell online (except via Western Union BidPay)

ok sana yung Paypal kaso sobrang discrimination eh! hindi supported yung Philippines!

I don't know how it works but BPI has a Payment Gateway service. There's a FAQ section on their website if you want to check it out.

Those payment gateways are for "store" type merchants who want to accept credit cards... not for auction sellers and freelancers.

Im not sure though but I htink nthat the term I looking for
"Payment gateway" but how does this work? do you need a credit card or a debit card or both? and what are the requirements? do i have to have a card (deboit/credit) issued by the bank from which the payment gateway will be used?

Im familiar with those payment acceptance schemes for auction and freelancers (specially Western Union - BidPay)

but is it preferable if you build a small online strore and use payment gateways? or is there any other payment acceptance scheme for ONLY small online stores? or is payment gateways the only preferable way rather than Western Union - Bidpay (which is for auction only) and paypal (which does not support Philippines!)

I hear those payment gateways require a high volume per month.

Someone told me they had a good experience with the iKobo merchant program. You get a debit card you can use here.

Yup.. Ive been there 2 nights ago and quite amazed with their features.. but the downside is that they will issue you their own VISA Debit card in order for you to withdraw the payments you recieved.. that is ok with me but the problem is you have to pay $15!!! for the Debit card with the shipping (the only "good" thing about this is that you can use this multiple times..)

I tried to email them and asked if I can use my existing VISA Electron debit card and let it be approved by them so that the payments I recieved will be directly deposited in this VISA Electron of mine without waiting and paying for their VISA Debit card..

BTW anyone here ever tried using Ikobo or any other site / company?

regarding the payment gateway.. is all banks like that? (requires hogh volume? what do you prefer

I don't think they can use other VISA cards. Yours is tied up with a bank, while theirs is tied up to their own independent account with VISA International.
