Be fair.

OK?

i'd rather work for the gokongwei's rather than these people.

beware of slick and promising job ads

they usually hide the "baho" of the company

be sure to look for alternative sources of info (by doing a web search) or gleaning inside info.

I'm currently working for a company that has a good ambiance office setup, but i'm receiving a decent pay. Free mineral water, free Milo, coffee, tea, sugar, tissue. The supply is practically never-ending. We're paid on our overtime.

The INA Typewriter "University" (kuno)

Sangmilyong tambak na kaso nito sa NLRC. Mainstay sila dun kasama nung company na na-mention in the earlier posts.

But on the bright side, if you want to be a really really good labor lawyer, apply there. You'll be swamped with work.

i'm working for banco de oro and i must say i'm quite satisfied with what i am getting.

that's 6k per month, pero 16 months pay naman so that's around 96k per annum. plus benefits pa. quite low nga, pero if you are starting naman ok na din yan kesa wala kang work diba? imo of course.

Jeffreyw
Mar 31, 2004, 07:01 AM
Even a 6k salary is not even enough here in Cebu, even for a non married guy like me. I'm renting a place, it's cheap though 700/month, also i'm a type of guy who prefers cheap items to buy, not extravagant in my spending. But still 6k is not enough, not to mention that it's still a gross figure, not net.

6K??? Is that gross or nett? I hope for your sake it's nett. But it's still below minimum wage right? If you say you get total 16 months a yr, how does BDO spread out the 4 months? Do they give it in bulk or throughout 12 months at diff. times?

Avoid Alvion Technologies (or Alvion Asia). Although magagaling yung mga employees nila at masarap kasama at super flexible yung schedule, yung HR Director nila is a power tripper na walang alam sa HR administration or local labor laws.

His name is Mark Phillip Galutera. Dati daw siyang HR executive sa Nestle. Pero think about it, kung executive ka na sa Nestle, bakit ka lilipat sa isang start up na puro clone ang computers? Unless tinanggal siya.

BEWARE of MILLENNIUM CONSORTIUM CORP, ULTRASYSTEM (MEGAMALL).

Isa lang may ari nyan.Sama ugali ng may-ari. Kala mo warzone kasi araw-araw laging nagmumura. Sama trato s employee.Dami nya labor violations.

I know this person who posted this. He was recently terminated by Sir Mark and he is very disgruntled. He was caught stealing a cellphone from an employee in the company and justly as HR Director, Sir Mark terminated him after putting him through the disciplinary process. I know this first-hand because I was the victim and lost my brand-new phone to him.

Inquisitor, you got it wrong. I'm still with Alvion Asia and I have no plan to leave the company. And I don't need to steal your cell phone kase di hamak na mas malaki sweldo ko sa yo. Me 40k a month ba sweldo mo? I'm sure, isa ka dun sa mga pals ni Mark na pinagimbentuhan nya ng position para lang magkatrabaho, juts like Vince, who was fired by the VP only after a month kase nga inimbento lang yung position nya. Yikes! By the way, andito ko sa office until evening, I'm sure sa Tech Support ka. Kita kits tayo mamaya :)

Thanks, Jareth. I'm filing my resignation sa Alvion Asia next week. Just received a job offer from another multinational IT company. Guess how much? P72k plus tax shield and car plan!!!

Why don't you join Alvion Asia? I'm sure you and the HR manager will become the best of friends there. And are you interested in a 1999 Mitsu Lancer GSR? Gotta to take advantage of that car plan.

Jareth, have you heard of verifone? US IT company din na me office dito sa Pinas. They're looking for
programmers and QA staff.

jareth,
9 months na ko sa company at paalis na ko pero up to now wala pa rin akong employment contract. natatawa na lang ako. since december about 30% nung employees umalis na dahil sa kanya. saka pag nagcriticize ka sa peformance nya, na maadlas manyari kase nga incompetent sya, pepersunalin nya. kahit irecommend ng manager nung employee yung tao for promotion at kahit maganda rating sa performance evaluation, gagawa sya ng paraan para hindi maapprove. i should know kase yung isa kong tao nirecommend ko for promotion, dumiretso ako sa US office at approved naman nung VP. pero hinarang pa rin. di pa daw approve ng HR. ayun bad trip pati yung VP kaya hindi na sa kanya pinapadaan yung mga ganung decisions ngayon. mukhang maaayos na kase me bago kaming country manager at mukhang OK sya. galing sya sa CIS. baka kilala nyo :)

i agree with manoy. inquisitor, who am i, really? nga pala, our VP in the US sent out an email today. "sir mark" was eased out of his position. all local hr tasks will no longer be handled by him. he's role now is to handle global hr activities, which is reall an '"imaginary " role, kase wala very limited ang global activities ng hr sa alvion. it's the VP's way of telling "sir mark" to resign, parang binigyan sya ng chance to exit gracefully. kaya lang manhid talaga, tsk tsk tsk

FYI, Epixtar no longer runs a campaign of web services... Epixtar's management and executive staff is the best among the world. Most of the well known call center established here (Etel and so on) has seeked the help of all our Exec staff. :o)

Epixtar is one of the best call centers to work for. Earn More, Learn More, Be More. Only two other centers in the country pay more than Epixtar.

Epixtar will soon be one of the most well known call centers in the country. Check out the website...

www.epixtar.com

only fortune 500 company campaigns here.. only the best quality from here on out...

if you want to earn more and love coming to work, Epixtar is the place for you. check out our facilities on our website...

The former office is in Subic, not in Cavite. :)

I have been working in Alvion for almost 2 years now and I must say that generally, working here ain't that bad, contrary to the bad reputation the company is getting in this thread. We have professional and competent people and the "fun work" culture within the company is something unheard of in many companies. Being a "carryover" from the Subic office, I have the benefit of living in a comfortable place near our office, and this is paid by the company. The flexi time policy is also a plus.

The only thing "bad" going for us was the issue on the HR Director, and that has been resolved with the official announcement of his depature from the company. I was one of those directly affected by his incompetence and I agree with all the negative feedback about him in this thread. But Alvion is not our HR Director, and vice versa, so I am clarifying that the issue is on the HR Director, and he (unfortunately) happens to be a former employee here. We may have been affected by all the HR malpractices that we saw during his 1-year stay but that does not reflect the kind of employees we have here and the company that we are.

And no, we are not a spamming company. We are a software firm servicing the direct marketing industry in the US.

i agree with penpusher, alvion now has a competent country manager who can steer the company to the right direction. and alvion is not a spamming company, in fact, it's a victim of spammers itself.

alvion's former HR diretor is the worse i've seen in all the companies i've worked. buti na lang nasisante na sya. kaya lang kawawa naman yung company na lilipatan nya :D

Saan po ba yung Alvion? Saan sila nagpo-post ng job vacancies?
