The plain Xenadrine, which contains ephedrine, isn't safe. It significantly increases your chances of getting stroke, seizures, and/or heart attack. Ephedrine is already in the process of being banned in the US because of this, and has been the subject of class action lawsuits. Xenadrine EFX is safer. Whether it's effective or not is anecdotal. This is not under the realm of medicine. It's under the category of food supplement and we generally don't prescribe it.
