JRS EXPRESS --- i've never encountered any problems at all. very fast ang local deliveries plus yung international deliveries nila puwedeng ma-track. mura din :) and then they can also get the items from your house or wherever you want the items picked up

Try FedEx and/or UPS pag International. For some destinations, cheaper ang FedEx, ang iba naman UPS. Try TNT Express din. Cheaper din sila on some locations. The trick here is you survey first how much it would cost.
Pag bulk ka pala magpadala and frequent, I suggest you apply for a credit line with those couriers. They'll give you a discount pa.

^ May nabibili sa Office Warehouse na padded envelopes. Or you can wrap it with bubble wrap before putting it in an ordinary envelope.

I'm sending CD-R's, not premade CD's. What's better, pack each one individually, or fill them in round cases (10's)?

Fedex for international and Air 21(partner of fedex) for local.

zimdude: ooops my bad. I've never done that before but I guess a 10 CD cake box would be enough to ensure stability. I seal mo lang siguro. Let me guess, you're sending CDR-King stuff to someone in the 1st world? :)

Oh you call it a cake box... hahahaha no I'm not exporting piracy :) I burned some Linux CD's for someone who posted me in Technology Today, and I sent them to Iloilo.
I taped the cake box so it wouldn't open (I hope!) and put the thing in bubble wrap.

^ Cake box or spools. Cake box is much cuter :) Although come to think of it, a box should be square-ish. Hmmm... I think I'll post this in RoT.

i prefer FEDex/Air21. hassle masyado sa LBC. sent same items through both courier, sa fedex 80+ lang while sa lbc 200+

do they give a copy of the list of prices of their services?
would you recommend the post office or private courier companies? which is more reliable/cheaper?
is the packaging of item/s free?
is there a way for the receiver to track the item if it's shipped via the post office?

i've had a bad experience with one of those mailstations near PUV terminals. i sent a package to the states last sept. 4 and it still has not reached the person i sent it to. i called the main office and talked to a certain person to have it tracked and she told me to call after 3 days. ang problema, palagi sya nasa field..wala sa office. i asked her co-worker about her cell number, ayaw naman ibigay. it's been a week since i reqested to have the package tracked di ko pa rin sya ma-contact. bwsit talaga yung mail station nayon!!! grrrr

air21 has a reputation for losing packages that contain valuable items, especially if these are uninsured. a lot of my co-members in a different forum had bad experiences with air21. masakit pa dito, long-time customers pa sila cuz most of them are buyers and sellers of different goods. and lalong mas masakit pa, air21 does not claim any liability for these lost packages, ni mag-sorry nga di nila magawa.
kaya, mag-UPS, JRS, or Aboitiz na lang kayo, though mejo mahal ng konti, at least, sigurado kayo na makakarating ng tama.

air21. a few banks use them when they send important stuff like credit cards. so, if reputable companies use them, i guess that they're reliable. though, i'm not sure about their prices.
