Ang alam ko 350/day na sila now.

Citibank used to be P300+ a day, should be much higher now and you do actual work. In my old dept, interns would do client training on their own as well. I used to refer to the interns as underpaid laborers when I was still with Citibank hehehe  But I would say it's a good experience to do your OJT there.
you're right iceburn. i was an intern in citibank and i must say it was a pretty good working experience. i was a bit overworked but hey, i prefer that over preparing coffee and photocopying documents anytime.
p&g offers a good program as well. (in fact, if i've known that they are also offerring one, i would have chosen p&g over citibank.) oh, and pay is double citibank's. :D

TrendLabs HQ (Manila) or Trend Micro at Libis (IBM Tower)
200/day
Drink Dispensers (yes.. unlimited Coke products/juice/milo/coffee)
Monthly birthday bashes
if lucky, you will also get 5k SM giftcheck like me (nung natapos ako sa internship)
Dyan ako nag full time student intern for 6 months last May 2003. Maganda, may sariling cube and grabe nakakataba. I was the apprentice ng webmaster ng isang department. But depende kung san ka mapupunta, my other colleagues kasi nagdodownload lang sila ng files wala mashadong ginagawa... ^_^

Gising uli ng 5PM for OT, hehehe. Onga pala..... subsidized pagkain dun kaya mura!

i had co-interns last summer from chem engg who were sent to china and japan for their internships. they had the usual P12,500/month salary plus a living allowance in foreign currency. nothing beats P&G when it comes to an internship program. :D

Nung panahon namin (uhhh 1997 pa ito), the "best" companies were Shell, P&G, and Citibank. However Shell really only took the best of the best. :)

For Business Studs, Land Bank of the Philippines (Malate) palaging open for trainees. Sa PLDT din, (sa Boni ang office ng HR, infront of San Francisco Gardens) kaso you need to secure a barangay clearance saka dapat dala na yung endorsement letter from your school.

Here are the things I've heard from friends who've gone on OJT. Note that when we say "good", we mean in terms of training and exposure.
1. At Unilever, it depends to whom you're assigned. If you're under a "participative" boss, then you get excellent training. If you're with less participative boss, you do less but syempre, sayang. If you're thinking that this will give you an edge come hiring, in some way it will but Unilever has a higher will-hire rate with their Business Week.
2. I've heard very good things about the OJTs in P&G. They give you real assignents to work on and you have a mentor/coach relationship with the manager who will handle you. This directly feeds into hiring.
3. Sa Nestle, I've heard very general things lang, all positive.
4. Citibank has been covered by this thread, and I've heard so-so general things about it too.
5. My friend went for a term sa Smart and she loved it. She wanted Marketing and she was in charge of events.

hi there, i would just like to us you guys if you know some embassies who offer allowances for internship? and how much.
i'm a consular and diplomatic affairs student and about to have my ojt na but upon reading this forum it made me think twice to shift my focus nalang to corporate world rather than dfa, fsi or customs coz they dont give allowances. i presumed corporate co. do have international affairs departments naman di ba so baka pede ako dun though im not aware of any corporate position close to that-does anyone here knows?. besides i like to be part of the corporate world first before venturing into my chosen career path basically to save money.
going back, do shell and P&G as well as other companies mentioned above do accept interns for CDA students? kasi multidiscipinary naman course ko kaya kahit san pede kami though im not sure kaya its better to you guys first. am anyway, can i discuss these issue with the HR personelll chaka how could i contact these companies? if anyone of you have contact infos kindly share.

Unilever - P334.60/day (P41.83/hr - for 8 hours no OT pay)
so that makes it around P7000 monthly tax free!

Tips? Apply already, students are already on the rush, by next week madami na kayo. SMART, and Globe are great and I have a friend who got absorbed kahit student pa lang sya. If u dont mind the food industry Jollibee, 10 per hr and madalas magpakain...
yogurtgal, try applying at embassies. If I am not mistaken, the US (or was it the Birtish?) embassy accepts OJT.

my friend inquired about internship for embassies last summer, but immediately changed her mind as soon as she saw the terms of agreement. interns do not have allowances and would be designated primarily to clerical duties, and if im not mistaken, they also dictate your hours (so even if your school wants you to consume 100 hours, they require 200hours). i also had the opportunity to talk to interns of dfa and what they said was that only one thing was free- scolding. in choosing companies where you'll have your internship, you have to be sure of what you want. If you want an engaging and enjoyable atmosphere, then i think private companies will be able to provide you that. if you want to be overworked and underpaid or not paid at all, then go for govt agencies. although im not generalizing, i give reservations for govt agencies that offer compensations even if meager.

lady artemis -> thanks for the infos ^_^ highly appreciated. i wanted to go for private companies but im still thinking about it (i thought, astig kasi kung UN realated agencies). i had classmates who will have their internship in US embassy and they have an allowance of 250 a day, but the thing you said about the hours and other stuff that they require-i didn't know that pero wala naman prob kasi were required to have 300hrs for ojt. as for me, i'll wait for UNDP or amnesty international or inquire in other UN agencies which i think is more interesting and fun, if they dont give any compensation but the name of the agency will be worth writing for in my resume then i'll go for it though, still.. who dont want to receive allowances right esp. if you know your worth, sayang din labor force mo di ba. dfa and fsi are my last choice-yes, they don't give allowance plus they give heavy workload pa for internship and most of them were clerical work and research anyhow they can also let you work within their range depending on the preferences and qualifications. i have classmates who were having training there and most cda student ended up in dfa as a common training ground for our course. as for me, i want to be somewhat uncoventional para maiba naman. btw, san nga pala nag-intern yung friend mo?

naku, were on the same situation. FS naman ako from lyceum, & most of my colleagues too will be havin their practicum either sa embassies, senate or dfa, ayoko naman mag-react pero wala na bang iba? then i tried searchin for other orgs myself, and i found some like WHO, chambers of commerce(amcham, euro, aus, etc), pbsp, pids & owwa(eto mga govt), ausaid, & foundations like ramon magasaysay, ayala, just look for someone from the external affairs dept, japan found, & intl ngos like friedrich stiftung & transparency intl. etc. i inquired w/ all of them & they said yes!!! :D

they have a student camp every summer. the top students in your class get to attend that seminar. there will be an interview and a test (depending on the position that you're applying for). btw, i dont know about other schools but this student camp is only for UP, Ateneo, UST, and La Salle.

As far as I know, Siemens also has a good training program for engineering and IT students. I don't think they give you a certain project to handle, but they let you help in all the projects. Internship allowance is around P225 per day.
Smart only gives internship allowance to engineering and IT students. They only give allowance to students who are taking highly technical courses. According to an acquaintance, if you are taking up courses like Business and Arts, don't expect an allowance at all.

For engineering students, Fluor usually accepts OJTs. Can't comment on the allowance (I honestly don't know), but the exposure in design engineering is enormous.

what company can you recommend for a management student? I'll be having my internship next semester. I'm eyeing for shell or ibm but i wanna get suggestions from you guys.
I wanna inquire to some companies stated above. What's the proper way of inquiring to their HRD? Or it would just be fine if i will just do some introduction and tell them my intent or queries right away? what do you think? help..thanks!
