How hard is it today to apply for a tourist VISA in the UK?
may brother ako (also a filipino) who has been working in the UK for about 3 yrs now. He has sent me documents to apply for a VISA sa british embassy.
somebody told me na ang importante for the embassy na may mag iisponsor sa akin dun sa UK , which in my case yung Kuya ko nga ang sasagot sa kin. Ok naman ang work nya dun.
Can i possibly apply for a work (even though tourist visa lang ako), i meant maghanap ako ng employer na mag bibigay sakin ng work permit?
tapos, sabihin natin na may mag sponsor nga ng work permit, pwede ko bang ipabago na lang ang visa ko for working visa?
sorry ha.. medyo magulo ba?

I think your Brother can apply on your behalf in the UK but he needs the application form with your signature on it..
How did your brother manage to get a working visa?
I am willing to bet he had an offer of work from a British company.
If you do manage to get a tourist visa you must remember that this in no way entitles you to work in the U.K...
Be careful when applying for tourist visa never to mention your wish to work there!!
This will mean instant refusal..It will be hard to re apply with that info on your past application.
Do things exactly in the right way and take no advice from hearsay..
The main purpose of the tourist visa interview in Manila is for the "interviewer" to be satisfied that you genuinely want/need to return to the R.P ..I cant remember the questions exactly but I think you need to show them evidence for the reasons of your intention to return such as your job or business commitments, family etc..
It is possible to get a working visa but you need at the very least a British employer with a firm job offer.
These links will give you all the info that you need...Read em carefully!! Again..Good luck.

thanks gumacanian.
my brother had an invitation first in Germany 3 yrs ago.
when he was in germany, he applied for a job in UK.
i know that (suppose i'll be granted) when i got a tourist visa.
Im not allowed to have a work in UK.
But suppose if im there already, is it possible for me to apply for work. then tell my about-to-be employer that i have a tourist visa and i would request them to issue for me a working permit?
that way i could re-apply at the embassy for a working permit..
this is really getting me frustrated.
i already have decided to leave from my company because
1. my company has a Manpower Reduction Program which when i avail, they offer me a sum of money to help me on my next job.
2.If I don't leave my job, i'll be an old man here. my salary is just enough (well sometimes not) to support myself. there is no more promotion and my job is getting tedious each quarter. i can already feel im underpaid.
yes, its a dilemma.. some say not to leave my job.. some say go for it.
i had sleepless nights already. I know i could survive my day to day life, but i just dont want to end pennyless.
tsk... nagda drama na ako.. sensya na...
