Especially for those who have plans on taking the certification on their personal account, is it worth the $300? Does it really enhance ones value as an internal auditor?

In my opinion, no. But it enhances one's market value.

Wow... :D
Anyways, I'm seriously considering taking the CIA exams. But I'm reluctant because I don't know anything about the entire CIA process (review, application, exams, etc.) except for the postings at the IIA-P's website. I don't even know where I can get a copy of the popular CIA Reviewer Gleim.
Any info, guys? Share naman kayo... :)

if ever, i would like to become, "wulpgang, CPA, CIA" *okay*
well, libre naman mangarap.:)

^2 years work experience lang ang kailangan. Yes, you have to comply with all the requirements before you can use the "title". Anyway, madali na lang naman ang requirements. Ang biggest obstacle lang yung exam.
You can order the Gleim online or at IIA-P. However, I heard they are having problems with their shipment dahil sa Customs. :)
