I know call centers are the best way to earn money...at least for now. My question is, monetary aspect aside...Is there any ADVANTAGE to working at a call center??? I mean, is there professional growth? I don't mean to insult those working at call centers...in fact, I must give you a hand for willing to take on grave yard shifts...

pros: you are working for a US based company or for US clients (usually most call centers cater to foreign clients) and if you're thinking of working in the US (in the future), then at least they know you know how to deal with an american clientele.
- u develop your english speaking skills :)
- yep, u earn more than your friends who work in "real" or big time companies
- u meet a lot of people.. :D
- if you have a goal set(like becoming an HR perosn or a trainer) then working for a call center is a stepping stone
- most companies (in the phils or here in the US) put importance on customer service (so working for a call center really trains you for that)
cons: you won't have a life
- its physically draining
- emotionally draining as well (to those who have never worked for a call center, they don't understand how tiring it is to sit there and get yelled at, to hear all the complaints, etc..etc..)
- if you don't have any goals set, then you will end up being an agent forever
uhmm... these are all personal opinions..i've worked for 3 different call centers kase and tho it did pay high, it didnt give me a sense of fulfillment. it didnt challenge me at all, and that's what i wanted from a job, so i quit :D
