Nothing beats the service of Asian sa south area.

Hi there po.. I need help.. I think my gf is pregnant. Kung sakali po can I use my philhealth or SSS para makabawas sa gastusin?

no you can't... but she can already apply to be a philhealth member... and pay her monthly dues as self-employed siguro... by the time she gives birth, she can already avail of the benefits :)

if she's a minor, however, i think if one of her parents are PHIC members, then you can still get some philhealth discounts

I have a friend na sa Lourdes Hospital (the one in Sta. Mesa) manganganak... ang sabi daw ng OB nya sa kanya, she can expect to spend around P30k lang for normal delivery (with drugs) :)

and even my sister says maganda yung hospital and malinis... not sure lang if andun sa bagong building that they have yung OB wing nila....

*~*

we had a congenital anomaly scan done at Perpetual Succor Hospital (near UST)... not soooo clean-looking as the bigger hospitals like Asian and medical City (or even Madocs siguro) but I think it's one of the safest (and cheapest) hospitals to give birth in...

ano kasi sya eh... talagang maternity and reproductive health ang forte...

plus, they offer nga yung congenital anomaly scanning (na usually, the biggest hospitals lang nag-offer) and mga more modern testings for reproductive health illnesses...

hindi ko lang alam how much manganak dun :D pero feel ko baka around the cost lang din ng Lourdes Hospital

now kami... we're looking for cheaper hospitals din BUT since maselan nga pregnancy ko, we've allocated enough budget for a CS operation in Asian na (our OB said, mga P100k... less P10k kung sa Madocs)... yun din kasi, sa Asian at Madocs affiliated yung OB ko (and sa Madocs and PGH naman affiliated yung neonatal specialist that we want to get as our pedia) and we can't help but really consider our OB's affiliation kasi nga maselan pregnancy ko (i've been confined 3x na in the course of this first pregnancy)

It's located in front of Southville International School.

ahihi baklita... nakow, aaga ako sa prenatal vitamins :D kinailangan ko pa nga mag-amino acids kasi i didn't gain weight for 6 months...

tas i gained 10 lbs in a month after that, due to the amino acids thing (and siguro kasi me panlasa nako ulit...) tas i lost mga 5 lbs when i got hospitalized ulit last July :D kaka-recover ko pa lang ulit nung 5 lbs na yun :D

I delivered my second baby sa medical city two weeks ago. didn't avail of my ob's package. anyway, nagastos ko, 83t lahat. breakdown:
ob - 20t
anaesthesiologist - 12,500 (mahal sya, i know)
baby's hospital bill - 10,682.00
my bill - 39,517.20
pedia - ty :)

i stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. epidural. normal delivery. my first night, nasa room ako na private lang (2,100/night). second night, suite room (8,100/night). what else? another reason pala why i paid so much because my delivery suite (paggamit ng delivery room) costed me around 26 thousand. ang tagal ko kasing nag-labor. around 19 hours. so umaandar ang metro. kaya ang laki. i didnt have any complications tho. no philhealth or sss deductions pa ito.

hope this`helps

marie27... kung sta. ana ka, you have the option to deliver either sa lourdes hospital (sta. mesa ang address pero lagpas lang sya ng konti ng jollibee kalentong), sa medical center manila (U.N.), PGH (Taft) or Manila Doctors (U.N. din)

i think cheapest of the 4 yung pgh and lourdes... pero wala akong kilalang OB talaga dun. you can call them up and ask for referrals siguro (lalo na sa PGH, i doubt na you can go wrong there)

my OB is affiliated w/ PGH and has clinic sa escoda (tapat ng pgh), you can call her up at 524-4946 (Blance de Guia)... yun lang nga, i think there are other OBs who charge less than she does...

hi!

i gave birth to my baby boy last august 13, 2007 @ 1:39am at makati medical center. it was unexpected. i am on my 35th wk that time pa lang. i was on the shower at past 9pm when (hot) water suddenly gushes down through my legs. i thought it was the water coming out from the shower pero hindi! lol...napasigaw na ako ng ''mommy!!!'' i immediately called my ob and was advised to go to the hospital right away.

i arrived at MMC at 10:30pm and was wheeled in right away to the DR. i had no blood show and i didn't feel any contractions while inside the car on the way to the hospital. it was right after ng ie na na-feel ko *** contractions. i was 3-4cms na nun. nung una kaya ko pa, para lang dysmenorrhea...pero nung 12mn na (8cms), hindi na ako mapakali. i asked to be given epidural na kasi the contractions are getting stronger at hindi ko na kaya yung sakit. it felt like *** *toot* ko mawawasak...

pero hindi nag work sakin ang epidural. they didn't tell me at first. nalaman ko na lang nung tapos na kasi ang sakit sakit ng batok ko and my back was really red and bloody. so tiniis ko na lang...i was on the table by 1:15am, everything was so fast na...i thought mawawalan na ako ng ulirat sa sakit! they instructed me to push and to breathe pero hindi ko talaga magawa...ang nasasabi ko lang, ''aray ko po'' at ''mommy!''...then after 3 tries, bgla na lang lumabas si baby...nakita ko na lang sya tinaas at pinaiyak...tas yun na! haha...walang kahirap hirap! i was lucky, i guess...this is my first born, usually daw mahirap mag labor...but mine's super fast.

i wasn't able to avail of the package my ob gave me. i was short daw of a wk to avail of the package. 35wks lang ako kasi...dapat daw 36wks up...ang total na nagastos ko nasa 60k, all in. my room was semi private (@950 a day), my ob's pf was 16,800, pedia 4k, anesthesiologist 13k...then the rest, *** hospital bills na, medications, laboratory use, nursery...etc.

ang nabawas sa philhealth ko was only P2,500...

generally, i'm very satisfied naman with my experience. from giving birth to after-care.

i could walk na 4hrs after giving birth. wala naman masakit sakin aside from the stitches at *** dahil sa anesthesia na hindi nag take effect sakin. my bowel had been regular, wala naging complications.

my baby was roomed in 24hrs after giving birth. tas nung mga sumunod na araw, bumaba na ako sa nursery to feed him. my baby's so tiny, he weighs 4.14lbs but he's very healthy. at first i thought he would be incubated kasi nga kulang sa wks pa. he was incubated ng ilang hours lang to keep him warm and not because he was sick...super lamig kasi sa nursery and at his condition, hindi pede ma expose sa super lamig.

he was given enfalac PM since nung nasa hospital ako wala pa akong milk. so his pedia suggested na i-mixed muna. then ngayon may milk na ko...so 90% breastfed sya...tas pag hindi ko na kaya yung sakit ng nips ko, binibgyan ko sya ng enfalac. ;-)

my goal is for him to reach 7lbs ;-)

good luck sa mga manganganak pa lang! ;-)

Hi Delisyus! I noticed your posts on several threads. I got interested with your story when I read that your OB is Dra. de Guia (especially now that you are pregnant). She is also my OB at Asian.

I just started my work-up this month. This is our first try. I hope to get pregnant. I have been married for 5 years already. I know, God will bless us with a baby.

I took my clomephene last Aug. 13 to 17. Ultrasound on the 22nd. Ano pa ba dapat kung gawin? Thanks :)

Hi everyone, its my 26th week of being pregnant. Im very excited for my new baby. Im not very satisfied with my OB, she doesnt explain everything to me. I think I will not feel comfortable being with her kapag magdedeliver nako. Does anyone knows a competent and friendly OB from la salle dasma? Thanks!

sometimes, all you have to do is ask sis... am not saying na you should stick it out w/ your OB, but as a paying patient/clinet, you really must arm yourself with lists of questions and concerns when you go to your doctor...any doctor... like what i keep saying, we have to make sulit the long waits for our turn (lalo na sa OB doctors no!) Minsan kasi, sa daki ng patients, harassed na din sila... or nagmamadali na... now, if your doctor doesn't entertain your questions talaga, yun yung dapat sinusupalpal :D

Naku sis... I didn't undergo a fertility work-up so I really have no idea... and from what i do know, iba't-ibang approaches din kasi talaga ang work-ups :) Did Dr. de Guia say na you have PCOS ba? Did she also put you on Metformin? Did she ask you to lose weight (in case you need to?) Anyway sis, just be realistic that it might take several tries before you get lucky.... even the best of doctors have to treat some patients before getting results. Good luck with the work-up tho...

headUp: I think the most important to make any relationship work is open communications. Doc-Patient relationship for instance should be as open as possible lalo na sa mga preggy moms like us especially for 1st time moms. When it was my 1st time to be preggy, i just kept quiet and didnt ask alot of questions during my 1st visit because im studying the way my OB delivers and explain things..lucky for me, she is really superb kahit na hindi naman sya bago at least she finds time to explain everything..from the baby's development, my development, sex life, food to take, even hubby was so keen listening to her.

Yes, the long waiting is so stressful but everything is so sulit for me. My OB is doing consultations for about 45 minutes each patients. Ngayon that im on my 2nd pregnancy and seldom do i asked questions na kasi most of the time i know what to expect already pero she still finds time to listen and explain over and over things to do.

I can say that Im very happy with our relationship. we text and call each other and bonus, she doesnt charge that big! her consultation is Php350 lang. :)

Goodluck to you and I hope you find time to speak to your OB or better if youre still uncomfy, find one as early as possible.

hi everyone...im giving birth this october at the medical city for my 1st baby...medyo maselan ang first few months ko...thats why i chose medical city for the safety of my baby and myself too...good thing a friend of ours recommended dra. blesilda perona...she's so kind and very accomodating. isa sya sa mga in demand na ob sa medical...room 515! katabi nya ng room si dr. pastorfide na nagpaanak kay claudine barreto sa medical city...she also accepts walk-in patients...maonday to saturday sya from 9-12 nn lang sya lagi. she's also assigned at the ultrasound section of the medical city and she gave us a free 3d picture of our baby boy since i am her patient. so if anyone of you who is trying to look for a good ob...try her! hindi sya basta-basta nag rerecommend ng cs section...she always opted for a normal delivery...her secretary told me that her package rate is about 45,000 for painless delivery...inclusive of 2 night stay at the ob ward section of the medical city...(i guess this is without complications) my husband and i will use this package since we dont have to stay long naman in the hospital...if you opted for a nicer room, expect for a much higher bill. ang turo din nila sakin ay wag mag-labor sa hospital dahil yun ang nagpapamahal...goodluck nga lang sakin sana malaman ko kung yun na yun labor na yun.

dra. perona and aisyl (secretary) very accomodating. si dra once na tinext mo of any concern or if you call sa clinic nya sasabihin nya sayo ang dapat gawin. her pre natal check-up is P400 every visit.

dont be too budget concious in giving birth!nakakatakot kasi magtipid. mag-ipon nalang tayo lahat at magtrabaho mabuti para makapag handa...nakakabutas talaga ng bulsa....but thats life...*** ng mura ngayon. ang choose the hospital nearest to your house para sa d-day natin wala matetensyon.

goodluck sa lahat ng mangangak tulad ko!hope we can all make it! god bless everyone!

i have to disagree with this statement.
we can be budget-conscious and cautious at the same time. unfortunately, not everyone can afford 45000 even if they work 24/7. fortunately for some of us, swerte kase kaya natin. pero we have to be sensitive naman to those who just can't afford it. or some people who choose to save kase iba ang pananaw nila sa paghawak ng pera. not everything expensive is good, and not everything cheap is bad. di lahat ng magagaling na OB sa medical city at makati med lang makikita. maraming magagaling din sa ibang hospital and they don't charge as much. i'm not attacking you personally or saying na mali ka. just that we have to be sensitive to those people who, kahit na magtrabaho ng buong araw, buong linggo at hanggang sa maglabor eh di pa rin afford ang ganyan. and also to those who choose to be practical. just my 2 cents.

not everything expensive is good, and not everything cheap is bad.

i agree. i got the best prenatal care available in my area and it cost a fraction of what an OB charges. i was under the care of a midwife. if not for needing Pitocin (which midwives here cannot legally administer), i would've given birth at the midwifery instead of the hospital. at the hospital, the doctor pretty much stood back while the midwife called the shots and coached me through labor. taga-salo lang ng baby yung doctor. the best person to care for you doesn't necessarily have to be the most expensive.

share ko lang....

i've been having conflicting emotions talaga on where to give birth before... kasi nga syempre I want to make tipid para we'd have enough pa rin for the christening... and syempre having a baby isn't at all cheap. Aggravated pa yung concerns ko ng decision namin na i'd be a SAHM so syempre, my hubs will be saddled with our financial obligations...

kaya lang din, ever since we couldn't really consider other hospitals or doctors naman kasi nga I had a difficult pregnancy... and since first baby namin and i have a strong history of allergies, hindi namin ma-shake yung feeling na we'd need a place that offers all the necessary equipment and facilities...

pero ang clincher samin... i want my hubby to be there with me at the labor and delivery room... sadly, in our country, only the bigger hospitals allow this practice

so ayun... decided na kami sa Asian (barring other scenarios, like what if sa taxi or car namin ako abutin, wehehe)

oh and i am hoping i'd get to experience the renaissance of midwife -assited births here in the Philippines... atsaka sana mauso yung mga doula :) and yun nga, sana gawing practice na din na husbands be allowed inside delivery rooms...

I gave birth sa las pinas doctors last may. Normal delivery with epidural. I spent 45k all in all. 2 days 2 nights ako in a private suite. Hindi yan ordinary lang na private room. May cable tv, phone, cr, and ref. Here's the summary of my expenses:

OB (PF) - 20k
Pedia (PF) - 8k
Anesthesiologist (PF) - 6k
Other Fees - 11k

Hope it helps!

Thanks in advance.

yah got your point PRINC3SS.MOM...im not offended in any way. but if some soon-to-be-mom is like me na sobra selan magbuntis...well you really have to entrust yourself to a hospital that will truly care for you. ive been bed rest for 5 months and lagi akong threatened abortion...because of spotting and contraction. if your in my case matatakot ka basta ilagay sa risk ang buhay mo at buhay ng baby mo lalo na youve waited for too long to have a baby.

yah we all need money...sinong bang hindi.im just an ordinary employed mother in a company who doesn't pay much. if something bad might happen to your baby at walang complete equipment ang hospital i dont think mabubuhay nila ang baby mo na dinala mo for 9 months. that happened to my sister-in-law who gave birth pero dahil wala modern o ok na equipment...namatay yung 1st baby nya. and pinagsisihan nya yun.

this is just my point of view. you can agree with me or disagree with me in anyways. but ill stick with my decision because in the 1st place its you and the baby who's alwys on risk kapag nanganganak ang isang babae.

yes, i know your point. what i'm trying to say is, di lang naman sa mahal na hospital merong equipment. meron naman na mas affordable hospital who also offer the same services na meron sa mga mamahaling hospitals. the edge that these expensive hospitals have is that they have a more advanced techonology for rare sicknesses na wala sa ibang hospitals cos again, these are rare sicknesses and di naman magagamit madalas.

giving birth sa affordable hospital does not mean you're putting you and your baby's life at risk. it's simply called being practical.
what happened to your sister-in-law is not her fault. it is simply God's will. kung maselan **** sya and she needed special equipment, her OB could have told her that and asked her to give birth kung san meron. i know somene who gave birth in st lukes, and both mother and child passed away. i believe st lukes have advanced technology. but then again, its their time. so kahit limpak limpak pa pera mo pambayad sa ospital, kung oras mo na, di mo naman mababayaran ang buhay mo.

my point to all this is, don't say na choosing affordable or cheaper hospitals would mean risking your life and your baby's. that's what it is. yun lang. it is your option, and your right to give birth anywhere you want. pero respect others' options and rights as well to give birth where they want without judging them by sayung they are risking their lives. yun lang. nuff said. *peace*

hello guys,

i just wanna to share this:

i gone through alot just to find a good OB and a Nice Hospital but not too expensive to deliver....Now , i am so happy i did found it an iw ant to share it to those who still in search...

chinese general hospital:

OB: Dr.Averia-Leh, CGH room A27
Consultatyion Fee: P 150.00 on first visit; P100.00 on next visit.
*Very accomodating, u can ask to her everything u wanted to ask about pregnancies specially those first preg like me*

CGH : *for Normal Ward: 22-23k: Including Hepa vaccine for babies and New Born Screening; If u have Philhealth, Minus 4k
* for CS ward: 37-38 k minus 10k if u have Philhealth.

Tapos, sa mga magpapa ultrasound or other Lab test, Dr. Leh will refer to you to a much more cheaper one.... like sa CGH , 1k mag pa ultrasound but she refer me to a cheaper one but same result for only 350.00...5 months preg palang ako but they already seen the gender...

For those who wants much much cheaper, CGH has its charity ward, Free and Doctors Fee and ward, yong babayaran nyo lang is yong medecine na magagamit nyo during delivery...pero kailangan lang first trimester palang, doon na kayo mag pacheck up... pag malaki na ang tyan , di n apede sa charity ward nila...

i hope it can help u guys...

hello mommies, i'm a newbie here. share ko lang when i gave birth nung january 8 at medical city.

i went there around 7 am. super alaga ang mga nurses don. they never left me when i was in pre labor room to labor room. wala akong contractions pero pumutok na water bag ko ,so they gave me a shot para pang contract. i think naka 2 shots sila sakin kase i dont feel any pain talaga and ayaw bumuka nung cervix ko ata. d gumana sakin ang everprim (i took eveprim for 2 weeks prior to my delivery). and to make my story short, at 5 pm, they decided na i-cs ako. pero to be fair naman with them, they did talaga their best para d ako ma cs. they were telling me pa nga na ayaw kita ma-cs. so ayun nag epidural na ako, tas dinala na ko sa delivery room. i was awake non and pinapanuod ko pa (nakikita ko through don sa malaking light sa taas). so ayun they were telling me pa na sleep na daw ako hahaha.

OB = 30,000
PEDIA = 4,000
ANESTHESIOLOGIST = 15,000
MY EXPENSES + ROOM for 3 days (standard room) = 33,000
EXPENSES FOR MY BABY = 12, 700

all in all my hospital bill was 94,700.00. Kinda expensive kase na cs ako pero im telling you mommies, worth it talaga. super alaga sa medical city. sa stay ko sa labor room ng 10 hours, they really never left me. and super linis ang medical city in fairness. ganda.

i agree with other mommies, kung safety naman talaga ng baby and safety mo pag uusapan, wag natin tipirin.

Hi mommies, share ko lang rin yung sa ken (plus experience ko na rin for my first pregnancy), I gave birth to a healthy baby girl at St Luke's Medical Center, Cesarean:

I was in labor for 28hrs (Thurs 2.30am, then OB decided a CS Fri around 6am - 7am). I was at the HRPU (high risk pregnancy unit - because my OB is, I think the head there) bed number 1. BTW, at HRPU labor bed, you are allowed to have someone to be with you; hubby was with me all the way - from labor to delivery! So, kahit na-CS ako, maginhawa naman ang pakiramdam ko because of my super caring hubby :) aside from my OB na super alaga din. Hindi rin kung sinu-sinu ang nagi-IE sa ken don, sa haba ng labor ko, I think 3 or 4 lang sila nagIE, including my OB.

Below are my expenses after PhilHealth:
OB PF - 28,000.00
Anest - 10,000.00
Hosp bill - 26,100.00 (dami meds taken during the 28hrs labor, Private Room 3 days)

baby is still in the nursery, water broke outside hosp, kaya sabi ng pedia nya kailangang tignan si baby kasi possible daw na nagkaroon sya ng infection nung bumukas na nga yung panubigan ko. Her running bill na is 17K and she will still be there until Friday AM :( Excited na akong makasama sya! Haaayyy.

Pending bill pa pala namin ni hubby are:
Pedia - ???
Baby's bill - ???

:)

:)

laanep... masyado kasi matagal yung gap between the breaking of your water bag and the baby's actual birth... pedias usually expect/see/look for infection talaga pag ganun...

Woohoo!

hello guys,

i just wanna to share this:

i gone through alot just to find a good OB and a Nice Hospital but not too expensive to deliver....Now , i am so happy i did found it an iw ant to share it to those who still in search...

chinese general hospital:

OB: Dr.Averia-Leh, CGH room A27
Consultatyion Fee: P 150.00 on first visit; P100.00 on next visit.
*Very accomodating, u can ask to her everything u wanted to ask about pregnancies specially those first preg like me*

CGH : *for Normal Ward: 22-23k: Including Hepa vaccine for babies and New Born Screening; If u have Philhealth, Minus 4k
* for CS ward: 37-38 k minus 10k if u have Philhealth.

Hi there! Do the ranges you gave (22-23k for normal and 37-38k for CS) include everything na? Like PF, Anes, Pedia, etc? Curious lang. Sounds okay kc e, kung full package na nga un.. and magkano kaya semi-private room dun, if you have any idea?

Pede pa kaya ko lipat, going on my 8th month of pregnancy na.. Ngayon kc I'm thinking of a birth in Lying Inn lang where my OB has her own mini clinic sa bahay nya or in Ramos Hosp (where my OB works as well, if On-Call sya), if ever may complications ako before birth (though di ko pa natanong rates ng panganganak sa Ramos).
nag-iisip lang ako alternatives para sure din..

I appreciate your suggestions..thanks. :bashful:

rylie17... if you haven't experienced any difficulty naman in your pregnancy, and you trust your OB so much... then discuss yung giving birth sa lying in clinic nga :) sayang din naman nga matitipid mo... basta discuss yung Plan B (if ever magka-complications) lang w/ her...

ako kasi seryoso... if wala lang ako strong history ng allergies and hindi namin to first baby... and hindi difficult yung early months ko (and ngayong last month)... i wouldn't have problems giving birth in a smaller hospital or lying in clinic (tho issue ko pala na my hubs has to be w/ me, wehehehe)

Thanks Delisyus. I dont have problems with my pregnany naman. Actually til now, i still work in a call center, planning to take my leave early november pa. Ganun ka-hassle-free pregnancy ko. Worry ko lang is that this is my first baby. Now, me and hubby decided na sa Ramos Hospital na lang ako manganak. Talked to my OB and she said 15-20k for normal birth (w/Philhealth na) lang naman daw babayaran ko, si Dra. Ramos na mismo magpapaanak sakin if I requested and sa private room na rin un.

Hays..ganito pala talaga feeling..scary na excited. hindi ko rin kc maalis ang financial fears..:( la pa kc ko idea how much marereciv ko sa maternity claim ko kaya i'm budgetting as early as now.. buti na nga lang at me seswelduhin pa naman til bago mag-leave and may 13th mo din on dec (yuhoo!!). ang mahalaga mairaos ko to, healthy kame ni baby and may work pa naman ako babalikan. :rotflmao:

maybe on my second birth dun nako lying inn!!:D

hi ,

yes po, as in package na sya...kasama na po yong new born screening and hepa vaccine ni baby... if u want private or semi private, u just add 4k from quoted price to be semi-private and another 4k to be in private room... pero akao, ward lang ako, kasi maganda naman ward nila, and besides, 2-3 dys lang naman ako doon, sayang din...

if u want to transfer, u have to get all ur records from ur present OB para makita ng new OB mo your medical records para any problems or complication will arise, alam nya ang gagawin...

Goodluck to you....

it's ok if you want na makatipid. nothing wrong with doing that. pag nagtipid tayo, it doesn't mean na nilalagay na natin sa risk yung buhay natin. susme, wala bang namamatay sa mga mamahaling hospital? DUH.

Saan ang metropolitan? Have you delivered at St Luke's Medical Center na ba? My Sister-in-law and I both labored and delivered at SLMC. SIL labored for 18hrs a year ago and that's what she said she experienced at the labor room. 2 weeks ago, I labored for 28hrs at SLMC's HRPU, so that's more than 1 day so I think normal naman na magpalit na ng resident [staff], diba?

BTW, eto yung pending bill ko after PhilHealth -- PHIC accredited kasi ang SLMC e, kasi na-discharge na si baby ko last Friday 21 Sept 2007:

Lovey,

Ramos Hospital is in Quezon City area. I haven't been to the place pero sabi ni OB it's near SM North. Convenient for me enough kc I live in QC, Commonwealth area. Its just a 1-building hospital, not too big. Meron private rooms, meron ward (more or less 8k all-in pag ward). Right now kase, I do my consultation with my OB sa house nya, near samen. I'll try to have my next sched with her this Sat then hingi na ko endorsement sa kanya para ma-visit ko na yung hospital anytime next week and makapag-plano na rin what room or package to take if they have any. I'd still want sya mag-paanak saken sa Ramos kase go for normal sya pero yun nga, kung gusto ko si Dra. Ramos mismo, ok lang sa kanya. Kung painless ata from what I remember is add lang daw ng 1-2K. I need to check the hospital next week para ma-confirm yung rates na binigay nya, esp if ky Dra. Ramos. If QC area ka din, i could refer you to my OB. Share ko sayo infos after ko macheck lahat esp the hospital para sure din tayo. Ako kc I'm not after really nice hospitals, basta me private or semi-private room ako, may options for painless or CS and beterana yung OB or magpapaanak saken. Nov 22 na due date ko so I need to wrap up my plans in 5-6 weeks.

Goodluck saten.. inform you soon.

hi rylie! i am very much interested sa OB mo, im 27 weeks and based on my u/s i am due on jan.9, pero i still have to have a follow up u/s first week of december *** ma sure na kung mag repeat CS man ako eh tama nga sa bilang ang baby... gusto ko sana mag normal kaso ang sbi ng doc ko now, mahirap daw bka mag emergency CS daw e madodoble pa daw ang babayaran ko instead na kung scheduled CS un lang daw ****... please help me naman... 20k lang budget ko if ever and that's for CS na...:mecry:

Hello,

Sa FEU Fairview din ako nagpapa-prenatal. Rm 411 sa Marian Bldg ang clinic nya. SI Dra Toy OB ko. She's nice and magaling. She spends time with her patient talaga every consultation. Hindi nagmamadali. Affordable din ang PF nya sa checkup. Hindi ko pa sure if how much kung magpapaanak na kasi I have not inquired yet.

PM me po if you're interested para I can give you her number. I don't have it right now kasi.

CONGRATS DELISYUS!

I gave birth din sa Asian Hospital August 2006, total bill was 120k, inclusive na PF ng OB at Pedia ko.

kami din umabot ng P120k... i plan to blog about it, ala supplier's ratings/review... ahehe

inferno... unless you or your baby required special services (like NICU), after a year same pa din nagastos natin... so hindi pa din ganun kalaki pala in-inflate :)

P45k for a CS operation as PF of ob, pedia and anesthesiologist... tas if you get a private room... aabtin ng mga P70k total gastos mo...

if you have a private room din sa PGH, they push the moms to room-in their babies kasi nga overflowing patients dun so crammed din pati nurseries... mas safer tuloy lalabas yung baby mo w/ you than asa nursery pa sya (and isipin mo, kawawa if iiyak sya tas nde agad maasikaso sa dami ng babies)

We live near Makati Med thats why dun OB ko pero cant still decide kung dun na din ako manganganak. I wasn't pleased with their labor area sa MMC and the halls are dark. Since I became pregnant, we've taken all the necessary steps to make sure my baby gets the maximum care. I'm on my 23rd week now and I've been through a lot of lab tests already. But of course the most expensive of all is the delivery. kaya nga we're going to ask my OB na as early as possible how much it would cost us to deliver my baby so we can prepare. kaya ayun...good luck na lang sa tin hehe alam mo na gender ng baby mo? :)

naku, almost a month na lang di ka pa nag-file ng maternity benefit mo? dapat at least 60th day ng conception nag-file ka na kc they can advance your maternity benefit as soon as naforward na nila yan s sss. i dont think ma-process pa nila yan ngayon if you file. shoulder mo na lang then process sa sss afterwards. sayang din kase. ako baka this oct 30 payroll makuha ko na yung maternity claim. be sure din hawak mo na philhealth claim form 1 mo na signed ng HR nyo pag nag-leave ka na para di ka na pabalik balik sa ofc mo. pede na ibawas ang philhealth even before ka ma-discharge basta kumpleto ka docs. kelan mo plan nag-leave? ako nga parang gusto ko tapusin lang 1st week ng nov tas leave na. orig plan ko kase til 2nd week ng nov..

mejo malaki na rin baby ko. yestrday sa U/S, 5.5 lbs na estimated weight nya. parang gusto ko na magpatagtag as early as now para around 38 wks manganak nako. takot ako lumaki pa baby, yoko talaga ma-CS kaya di me pde ma-overdue. antakaw ko pa naman. sana around 6lbs lang sya..

mag-finalize ka na.. di na biro ang one month. pde na tayo manganak as early as 37 weeks.

Sis... if you want your husband with you during the delivery, I think you should either get a Lamaze certificate and sort of 'book' a Lamaze room... or pay for birthing rooms (St. Luke's, TMC and MMC ata have these)

basta you have to pay for that privilege kasi... having the hubby w/ you

yun yung PLUS sa Asian Hosp... you don't need a Lamaze certificate... and all of their birthing rooms allow for someone else (be it your hubs, mom, sis, whoever) to be with you during the delivery... though pag CS, they let the S.O. in pag time na to pull out the baby (assuming no one really wants to watch someone being prepped and opened)... walang extra charge for that nice-to-have :) kaya dun ako nanganak...

and kami din, we wanted to be practical... kaya lang I NEEDED hubs to be with me so Asian talaga target namin :D tas syempre pasaway din pregnancy ko, na-CS ako bigla... ok na sana sa cheaper hospital kaso pag holidays and weekends tas unplanned surgery, may 40% surcharge sa Manila Doctors... and hubs and I decided not to switch doctors and hospitals na kasi my OB knows my history... and we NEEDED naman din the assurance a bigger hospital gives kasi nga i have a strong history of allergies...

anyways, do you think it's disrespectful sa OB ko kung lumipat ako ng OB without telling her or do i really have to tell her pa? kasi i'm thinking na lumipat sa OB ng friend ko, sa makati med din pero i dunno how to tell her... nahihiya din ako mag ask about her pf and all.. baka this week balik ako sa kanya, and hopefully i'll ask her about it na. pero i dunno how to tell or ask her.. nahihiya talaga ako. :(

my wife just gave birth last oct 8 here in bahrain's american mission hospital. we just spent 31000 pesos if converted to our currency, normal (vacuum) delivery. inclusive of 2 mos postnatal checkups, vaccinations, pedia consultations. service is great! pivate room with tv, ref, cr, sofa beds and free supply of diapers, etc. pinay din mga nurse so maalaga rin talaga. in short, wala ka ng hahanapin pa.

uhm... asking your OB how much you should expect to spend, that's not being disrespectful :) sabi ko nga, ako, 2nd check-up ko pa lang (mga 3 wks preggy pa lang ako, nag-spotting kasi ako that early) eh i had a list of questions na agad sa OB ko... kasama dun yung gastos kasi syempre para makapag-prepare ka (and always dapat you have enough for a CS, kasi however normal the pregnancy is, laging may mga last-minite himalang nangyayari)...

with regards naman sa lookig for another doctor... hindi ako sure... i guess it's courtesy na lang if you tell your OB you're switching doctors... but it's your prerogative naman din :) and since dito naman sa Pinas, they don't really follow up on you (like the secretary calling to remind you of check-ups and what nots, wala naman dito, so parang pwede nang bahala ka kung ayaw mo bumalik)

check the other OB out muna siguro... before deciding for good :)

For those planning to give birth within Ortigas or Mandaluyong Area, try niyo na rin ang VRPMC. Gave birth to my 2nd baby last May 18, 2007 and just like the 1st time, I am very satisfied with the hospitals services. I spent 78k (net of philhealth) for 4 nights on a semi private room (although I was just lucky I didn't have to share room then). My OB who took care of me very well was Dra. Teresita Javier. She charged me only around 27k for a bikini cut.

i'm still assessing kung asian or medical center muntinlupa manganganak. depende kung san aabot ang ipon and saan ako aabutan. hehe. taga las pinas kasi kami.

looking forward to your response.

Hi. I am an expecting mom and on my 7th month right now. This is my second child after 6 years. I dont know how much will it cost us. Last time we spent 65K @ Olivarez Gen Hospital because I stayed 5 days there.. due to fever and some complications. I am now residing in Laguna and our choices are Asian or Alabang Med... Anybody who gave birth in ALabang Medical Center? How was the facilities there? My OB quoted us 100K ++ if Im gonna give birth in Asian... but we are thinking about practicality... my 1st child is already studying thats why we are conscious about expenses...

I gave birth to Las Pinas Doctors Hospital last Sept. 17. Normal delivery ako dun and we spent Php38,000. Ok naman facilities nila and the nurses were extremely friendly.

If you're from Las Pinas, why not try Las Pinas Doctors Hosp? Dun kasi ako nanganak and if you're on a budget, mas mura sila compared sa Asian. Based from my experience, they will really take good care of you.

Goodluck saten.. inform you soon.

dyan ako nanganak w/ my 1st child!

Well I got a discount from St. Lukes after the email I circulated around regarding my unfortunate experience with them reached their VP and Director. :)

I only paid P37,000 (not counting the doctor's fees) for the 4 day hospital stay (HRPU, CS, private room, nursery fees, meds). Would've been nice if it was free though...

hi mommy iceburn, do you mind sharing with us your unfortunate experience at the hospital so we all could be warned?

Spent 140K in medical city ortigas. CS operation. 5 days (the baby stayed 2 extra days in neo-natal ICU) . The hospital has great ammenities kaya everything went smoothly.

It also depends on the OB and pedia. We got the head of the OB department and his fee was 50k. Anesthesiologist was 25K. So that was half of the 140K already. The rooms you can select which package you're comfortable with. I got a 3k per night room and it was big enough to receive multiple visitors.

hi!

i gave birth to my baby boy last august 13, 2007 @ 1:39am at makati medical center. it was unexpected. i am on my 35th wk that time pa lang. i was on the shower at past 9pm when (hot) water suddenly gushes down through my legs. i thought it was the water coming out from the shower pero hindi! lol...napasigaw na ako ng ''mommy!!!'' i immediately called my ob and was advised to go to the hospital right away.

i arrived at MMC at 10:30pm and was wheeled in right away to the DR. i had no blood show and i didn't feel any contractions while inside the car on the way to the hospital. it was right after ng ie na na-feel ko *** contractions. i was 3-4cms na nun. nung una kaya ko pa, para lang dysmenorrhea...pero nung 12mn na (8cms), hindi na ako mapakali. i asked to be given epidural na kasi the contractions are getting stronger at hindi ko na kaya yung sakit. it felt like *** *toot* ko mawawasak...

pero hindi nag work sakin ang epidural. they didn't tell me at first. nalaman ko na lang nung tapos na kasi ang sakit sakit ng batok ko and my back was really red and bloody. so tiniis ko na lang...i was on the table by 1:15am, everything was so fast na...i thought mawawalan na ako ng ulirat sa sakit! they instructed me to push and to breathe pero hindi ko talaga magawa...ang nasasabi ko lang, ''aray ko po'' at ''mommy!''...then after 3 tries, bgla na lang lumabas si baby...nakita ko na lang sya tinaas at pinaiyak...tas yun na! haha...walang kahirap hirap! i was lucky, i guess...this is my first born, usually daw mahirap mag labor...but mine's super fast.

i wasn't able to avail of the package my ob gave me. i was short daw of a wk to avail of the package. 35wks lang ako kasi...dapat daw 36wks up...ang total na nagastos ko nasa 60k, all in. my room was semi private (@950 a day), my ob's pf was 16,800, pedia 4k, anesthesiologist 13k...then the rest, *** hospital bills na, medications, laboratory use, nursery...etc.

ang nabawas sa philhealth ko was only P2,500...

generally, i'm very satisfied naman with my experience. from giving birth to after-care.

i could walk na 4hrs after giving birth. wala naman masakit sakin aside from the stitches at *** dahil sa anesthesia na hindi nag take effect sakin. my bowel had been regular, wala naging complications.

my baby was roomed in 24hrs after giving birth. tas nung mga sumunod na araw, bumaba na ako sa nursery to feed him. my baby's so tiny, he weighs 4.14lbs but he's very healthy. at first i thought he would be incubated kasi nga kulang sa wks pa. he was incubated ng ilang hours lang to keep him warm and not because he was sick...super lamig kasi sa nursery and at his condition, hindi pede ma expose sa super lamig.

he was given enfalac PM since nung nasa hospital ako wala pa akong milk. so his pedia suggested na i-mixed muna. then ngayon may milk na ko...so 90% breastfed sya...tas pag hindi ko na kaya yung sakit ng nips ko, binibgyan ko sya ng enfalac. ;-)

my goal is for him to reach 7lbs ;-)

good luck sa mga manganganak pa lang! ;-)

Jaw dropping talaga, hehehe. But OBs from the province are just as competent as those in Manila.

When I gave birth to my first born 3 years ago, we only spent a total of around P23T to 25T for normal delivery. Mahal na nga yun eh, because the hospital we chose to stay at was the "premier" provider of medical services. There were other private -- and public -- options na mas cheaper, I'm sure. The total amount covered our 3 day stay in a medium-sized private room with great amenities, my OBs fees (I really asked for a discount, hehehehe!), baby's stay at the nursery and pedia's fees. Minus na dun ang philhealth.

I'm giving birth again in a few days! *okay*

Don't worry too much about identifying the gender of your babies when you go for your first ultrasound... although I'm sure that'll be the most exciting part of the ultrasound experience kasi yun ang hinihintay ng lahat. Bonus lang kasi ang gender identification, the most important thing is to know that your baby is doing well inside your womb and is growing at a proper rate (kahit akala nyo maliit lang tyan nyo). Besides, it might not yet be accurate kung ano talaga gender ng baby kasi may times talaga na di ma sure. You can have naman another ultrasound later on as your pregnancy progresses. :)

And btw.... wahhhhhaaaa.... wala pa rin. I'm so ready to have my little princess born now, even though I'm scared half out of my wits all over again!

I'm 3 months pregnant now. We still have not finally decided san ako manganganak.. My budget is around 40k. May ma-rerecommend ba kayo na hanggang doon lang, all in... pero sana hindi ward.. magugulo friends ko.. na malamang, bibisita.

This is the second time that I'll be giving birth. I had my first daughter in UST Hospital on Dec. 1998. Okay naman doon. I was 19 at payato.. pero normal delivery, ha. Kaso, 37k na inabot bill namin noon, and that was 9 years ago. I can't imagine how much na sya ngayon.

I live in Taytay, may mga OB dito kung saan pwede magpa-check up. But I don't intend na dito sa tabi-tabi manganak.
So imagine, If I gave in to the first hospital na pinagdalhan sa akin, eh di nahiwaan ako ng wala sa oras. I can't help to think tuloy that small hospitals usually say na CS ka to augment their income... unlike the should-be procedure na normal muna ang i-try, at kapag hindi kaya, saka i-CS.

Please help me naman. I need to budget this early.. madami din kasi kaming bayarin, kaya mabuti ng prepared. I am really excited na din. It's been nine long years mula noong may baby dito... Any suggestion would help. Thanks, ha.

Nga pala, may mga packages ata sa Cardinal Santos at Makati Med.. may idea ba kayo doon?

Thanks, delisyus and sandy for the replies.

Saan yung Lourdes... okay ba dun? Sana hindi ako mahirapan magbyahe papunta doon if ever.. siguro.. ngayon, habang maaga, try namin puntahan to check pano pumunta at kung mukhang okay.

Grabe, around 60 to 70k daw dun ang Normal. Walking distance pa naman lang to from our house.

Thanks again mga fellow mommies!

I've heard ok po sa Delgado... What makes it ideal for giving birth?

Sino po ang mga OB na ok dun?

Magkano ang budget for that?

(I'm male and getting married this summer. Magastos kasi sa St. Luke's. Dun OB ng wifey ko.)

I gave birth in Asian Hospital 3 weeks ago. Normal delivery without complications, stayed at small private room (2.5K/day) for 3 days.
Our total bill amounted to 105.5K.

Breakdown :
OB's PF = 50k
Anesthesiologist = 12.5k
Hospital bill = 43K

I used my hubby's Philhealth and we had discounts for OB=10k and hospital bill = 2.5K. Kaya we paid 93K all-in.

It may be costly, but it's all worth it..the best talaga!

i gave birth last april 3 at medical city. was lanning to aval of their CS package sana at 60k, but nag high blood ako so di namin ito pwede ma avail. our bill amounted to 81k, less na 12k philhealth. sa baby friendly ward na to, which is nice btw. parang di naman ward because you have accordion partitions. yun nga lang, walang companion bed for hubby.

breakdown as follows:
PF OB- 20k
PF pedia- 8k
PF anesthesiologist 8k
baby's bill- 40k plus (he was given antibiotics dahil parang nag leak na amniotic fluid ko, which made him susceptible to infection)
the rest, bill na for me (mommy)

plum_75 I was just wondering why your total bill amounted to 105.5k? Normal delivery naman, and no complications.. Mejo mahal pala PF ni OB mo, my due date is sometime in June sa Asian rin.

If you know where or are close to Las Pinas Doctors' Hospital is, I really recommend you giving birth there. Dun ako nanganak before - normal delivery, family room ( sobrang spacious and katabi lang yung nursing station ) for three days, 2 nights and we spent Php38,000 all in all. Super friendly pa mga nurses dun.

plum... honga, if normal ka naman, bakit ganun kalaki PF ng OB mo? eh PF na yun ng OB ko sa CS ko (which was last Oct lang dyan din sa Asian)... o dahil nag-high blood ka? matagal din ba labor? pero basta, super mahal kung walang complications...

i plan to give birth in san juan de dios. my ob's pf she told me is around 30-40k then i'll get tha suite 3,200 per day for me + 600 for my daughter. ok na un. for pedia and miscellaneous i think a budget of 100k is about enough. but then of course im planning to have a ND delivery. if it's gonna be CS then the budget might double i guess. ok lang. my only other option is perpetual las pinas dahil don lang un isa pang clinic ng ob ko. and i'm sure if i give birth in perpetual ganun din naman magagastos ko kaya lang without comfortable accomodations and quality nurse care that i'll surely get from san juan de dios

Okay Sa Delgado. I gave birth nitong Feb 6 lang.

Olivia Ocampo. Magaling siya pero medyo nakakatakot. Hehe. Tapos ang dami niyang patient kaya weekdays kame nagpapacheck up. 15k yung PF niya for normal. 4 days ako nagstay tapos yung baby ko 5 days. Sulit naman. =).

May idea kayo how much manganak sa Manila Doctors' Hospital or sa UST? Thanks!!!!

I gave birth in Manila Doctors Hospital last Feb 29, 2008. For normal delivery, our total bill is around P50k net of Philhealth na worth P2500.

Pero its next to the regular private. Per day is around 2800 ata. I stayed in the hospital for 3 days and 2 nights. Tapos painless yung procedure sa akin. Maganda yung kwarto nila, malaki and malinis. Medyo newly renovated lang kasi yung building nila kaya okay ang mga rooms, hindi gloomy katulad ng ibang rooms sa St. Lukes and Makati Med. na nakita ko when I visited my sister and officemate before. Sa Manila Doctors din ako nanganak nung 2004 and my bill then is around P40k. So hindi masyadong tumaas yung charge nila kahit after 3-4 years na.

I just gave birth last March 13 @ Polymedic. I spent almost 33k, NSD, ward siya but their service was good and the hospital/facilities were clean. I have my own nurse pa..and spent 2 days lang dun. You can ask your doctor for the "Philhealth Maternity Packages".. For NSD Ward around 29 lang less na philhealth..but if you want painless labor (epidural) u have to add around 5k. For Semi private..i think konti lang difference nila eh..33k if no additional charges ka. If you're not that vain and on a tight budget, i suggest na ward na lang yung room kasi 2 days lang naman. The Delivery Room was ok din naman. and the Interns/residents were good also.
Too much anesthesia is not good kasi nga painless..mas mahihirapan ka manganak kasi di mo mararamdaman kaya yung iba na - cs..syempre tataas ang bayad sa doctor's fee.
Breakdown nya:
Hospital = 15k+
OB = 9k
Anesth = 4k
Pedia = 1,800
Baby's bill = 4500

I dunno..probably i Got some discounts kasi kilala ko yung OB and Pedia..

Hello Lil sistah,

I gave birth last december 24, 2007 via C-section at the Medical City, inabot Php120K+, semi-private room (buti walang na-admit sa kabilang bed, kaya parang private narin :)) at hindi nila allow ang package kasi holiday nun, overdue na kasi si baby ko 41 weeks. kasama na dito yung another 2 days stay ng baby ko sa NICU kasi may jaundice sya. They informed me Php40K mommy and baby friendly package (ward yun), normal delivery, Php60K kapag CS, lahat lahat na yun, but i suggest tawag ka muna coz i heard nagtaas sila ngayon 2008. Maganda talaga ang facilities nila and hindi ka manghihinayang sa service!!! at lalong sobrang sulit at wala lahat ng sakit kapag nakita mo na baby mo!!!:) Hope this helps! God bless.

Hi!

I gave birth po sa Lourdes Hospital last January 9, 2008 via C-section, my OB was Dra. Juanita Lee.

Nagdeposit ako ng 7,000 upon admission, i stayed there 3 days before ako nanganak kasi they had to monitor my bp, pre-eclamptic na kasi ako. My total bill was 23,707.73 less yung deposit ko so total hospital bill ko is : 16,707.73 lang. Lee.

My OB is from The Medical City also. Her name is Dra.Saludares. When i gave birth last Jan2006, package na binigay nya saken for normal delivery is around 27k.
Now after 2yrs, around 40k na daw pag ward, at 60k pag private room (both for normal delivery pa rin).

meron sana ko alam na mas mura somewhere in novaliches, quezon city. maternity hospital talaga siya but i would not recommend it dahil maraming kapalpakan nangyari sa hospital na yun.

My OB was Dra. Ocampo.

11k yung Hospital fees, private room
20k OB fee
6K Pedia
6K yung rooming fee ni baby sa nursery

Ang cash out namin 30k, yung iba sagot ng HMO pero after 2 months, nakareimburse pa kame ng 13k.

tnx momy! ok ba facilities and service? mgkano ba diff ng ward sa private room?chaka ilang beds kapag ward? why ka *** ngstay 4days dun diba usually 2 days ***?what happend ***?ako **** OB ko si Dra. Barona..:) musta naman paglelabor mo?ok ba ang labor and delivery room>?tnx sis!

Habang naglalabor ako, nakacheck in muna kame sa semi private kase jampacked dahil eve yun ng Chinese New Year, maraming nakaschedule na manganak. =).

Ayon sa resibo namin, 874/day yung semi-private tapos 1409.00/day yung private room.

Kung ipapatreat siya as patient with own private room, mas mahal yung bayad. Ang nursery dun, 500 per day pag nakacheck in pa yung mommy tapos 635/day pag nakacheckout na yung mommy tapos naiwan yung baby.

Okay yung service dun tapos madali yung admitting, payment and checkout system nila.

You'll pay directly to the doctors, hindi siya kasama sa hospital bills mo. I'm not sure if this is the same to all hospitals, pero ganun sa Delgado.

Anyways, I hope I answered your questions. Sorry kung napahaba. Hehe.

Thanks!
