While we're at it, please describe the teacher you love(d) the most. No need for names, just the description.
This may help our fellow PExers who have chosen this wonderful and admirable vocation. :)

my speech teacher in HS. She helped me develop my self-confidence and patient enough to help me with my speech impediment. Unfortunately she passed away a couple of years ago because of leukemia...

It would have to be by Communication Arts teachers in 3rd yr HS and in UP.
My teacher back in HS was an AB Lit graduate from Ateneo, and was in her 1st year of teaching when I got to be in her class. A lot of my classmates thought she was a total *****. She made us work hard for our grades, and there were so many reading requirements sobra. But she made Shakespeare so alive, and was such a classy, dry-humored lady that everybody got to like her in the end. Too bad she stopped teaching to continue her masteral studies in Oxford.
My Comm I teacher in UP was also great..after passing high school English and communications subjects I got a little jaded with these kinds of classes, feeling ko baduy lang and it's all looking for hidden meanings in bodies of works even when there is none. This teacher, though, was wonderful in class. She didn't discuss our required reading assignments to death, and treated us like adults. She was so knowledgeable about what she was teaching, and helped us analyze and understand fully Gabriel Garcia Marquez' One Hundred Years of Solitude--pagtapos ng book, we all realised what a great piece of literature it really was. We didn't have a lot of written assignments, we just basically discussed different works by different writers the whole semester. Ang galing niya talaga! Too bad I have long forgotten her name. I would have wanted to thank her for making literature more understandable and enjoyable for me.

my class adviser & math teacher in grade 4 loved us in her class so much, she pushed to be "promoted" along with us to grade 5 ...
she taught us to be independent-thinkers, to fight for what we think is right, & to have regard for the feelings of others without discrimination as to race, faith, iq, physical attributes, reputation, or station in life ...
she still remembers all her students by name until now ... it just goes to show that we're not just "paychecks in uniform" for her ...

My teacher in Political Science during my senior year in College. He was such an a**hole during the first few weeks of classes and to think na he was just new and was only a few years older than i was....but after a few months...he became like a kabarkada to me and a few of my friends na....and he gave high grades!

The most admirable teacher that I had was my high school literature teacher. What made her so admirable was that she loved what she was doing. She was actually awarded as second among the Ten Outstanding Young People in the Philippines. She believed that everybody had wisdom that was innate in them and she was very dedicated to her vocation of honing that wisdom. Thank God for people like them!

My grade two teacher in Texas.
She would always make our activities so much FUN!!
Sadly, she went to another school because my school was just too far from her home. :(
But I still love her and miss her.

Theo 131 teacher in ADMU (Fr. Dacanay). convinced me it is far wiser to wait til marriage before having sex.
Theo 151 teacher (Tina Astorga). basta, magaling talaga.
Philo 101-102 (Father Ferriols) "Lundagin mo, babe!"
others pa:
-com 195 teacher, Media Group, brilliant, young, sobrang bait, he was the reason i realized i've been in the wrong course the past 4 years in college (and it was of course, too late to do anything about it then)
-SA 21/ SOS 160 teacher, brilliant, very deviant, very funny and interesting class always

My teacher in Grade 1. Kahit section 10 ang hawak niya (kami), dedicated siya sa pagtuturo talaga. She was the most forceful in pushing me to acquire what potentials I have. Only second to my mother when it comes to motivating me to study and develop myself.

my teacher in commIII (penzon yata ang surname niya..), basta, enjoy ang class - hindi mo mapapansin na tapos na ang sem...
teacher ko sa humI (lydia... i forgot the surname na!) - tinuturo niya kasi is about life, alam mo yon? magdi-discuss kami ng isang story or poem from the PRISM book tapos everybody will have to say something about the piece tapos siya rin magshe-share... feeling namin, after the course malaki ang ipinagmature namin as in pwede na kaming mag-asawa! LOL

My fourth-grade English teacher, not only because she taught great English but because she made me realize at such a young age what being a UP student really meant.
My freshman high school math teacher because she taught me to love the subject I hated the most. She was a gifted teacher who showed us that math can be fun too. Inside the classroom she was THE teacher, but once outside, she was our friend.
My humanities teacher in college because she made lit come alive. She chose the most wonderful essays, short stories, and books for us to read. She made us appreciate the different genres. What’s more, she was a summa cum laude grad from UP but she was never snotty nor did she treat us like idiots.

Ditto Wangie! I love Fr. Dacanay too...even if I've had him for only three weeks=). He IS really good (sorry na lang ang mga hindi kumuha sa kanya!
...kaya lang, I have a quiz the Theo tomorrow=(...
Pero the teacher I love most was my Organic Chemistry teacher last year. He is a VERY good teacher. He is also very brilliant AND enthusiastic about what he teaches...even if he's probably been teaching for over two decades!
He is also very lovable (you can't say that about most of the teachers in the world.)
We all love him and we will all sign up for his class if ever he decides to offer one in the future.

The teachers that I love the most are those that I feel make an effort to get to know his/her students. The ones who make sure that they extend their friendship/companionship beyond the classroom. Also, the ones who make sure they keep in touch even after your term with them is over. :)

Actually, hindi siya teacher ko she was my adviser sa organization. Before I thought she was a pain, all she did was to criticize my work but after I won my first award for being one of the most outstanding student leader for my organization, I realized that I won because of her, I was challenged and did the best I could to prove to her that I am good and with that I thank her.
