What are the things that make your school different from the rest? Yun bang "KAKAIBA" at "NAKAKABILIB".

For me :
a) the trimestral system (habang ang lahat ay nagpapakasaya sa kanilang sembreak, kami ay nagpapakahirap para sa midterm exams)
b) the ring of our bell (ibang klase, nakakaindak)
c) we have a wonderful and good-looking basketball team (need to say more?!)
d) fully-airconditioned classroom (lagi kang mapapa-CR)
e} University Break (best day in a week)
. . . . marami pa, e.

OO, nga, no!! Ang ganda ng ring ng bell natin.
The trimestral system is really the different one, though some AMA schools are also under the same system. Ang hirap ng buhay, para kang may sariling mundo. Pero okay nga yon, e, ANGAT KA SA IBA! ;)

1) when someone asks about Father Dacanay, everyone knows him...
2) the 'clubhouse' has great, cheap food which cannot be found anywhere else... and Manang's smile is just lovely :)
3) when someone asks about Mang Manny, almost everyone knows about him...
4) we have names for almost anything... Edsa walk, Quad, Meron Lagoon, Doghouse etc...
5) the iced tea in the caf! (Meron pa rin ba?)
6) university masses held in the Quad
7) Bukas Palad, Manoling Franciso, and the other good choirs like Hangad and ACMG
8) JVP
9) Theo 141!
10) We have Mang Ted who's very helpful!
11) Three daily masses
12) We have a good soccer team
13) big, green, soccer fields
14) the trikes within the school
15) the sunsets seen from the back of PIPAC

The Philosophy and Theology programs in Ateneo are one of a kind. The environment is conducive to learning. The air is fresh. Ang daming malakas mang alaska. Ang daming parking space pero saksakan naman ng mahal ang parking pass. Masarap tumakbo at magpalipad ng sarangola kapag linggo. Masarap mag muni-muni tungkol sa diskusyon ni Descartes, Kant, Aristotle, Socarates at higit sa lahat Ferriols. Kakaunti ang populasyon di parang palengke. Higit sa lahat iba talaga ang angas at yabang ng Atenista pero sobrang asungot yung mga bagong salta.

Sa amin meron kaming Main Building na hanep na ang architectural design, earthquake proof pa! Kaya pag nasa loob ka ng Main Building at inabot ka ng lindol, you don't have to run and find a safe shelter kasi puede kang maglatag ng higaan at matulog.

because of the trimestral system, the no. of days per term is very exact, meaning if ever mawalan ng pasok due to the weather or any other reason not scheduled for the term, for sure may make-up class, kaya instead na matuwa ka dahil walang pasok ay ganon din dahil alam mong may kapalit din na make-up class......

another effect of the trimestral system.... being absent for a day is like being absent for a week....every class meeting counts dahil mabilis ang takbo ng discussion....one thing you will really learn is to value time....and also how to manage it well....

Bakit walang tiga-UP? Lalo na sa Diliman ang dami.

1) A garden that sinks 1/4 inch per year. It's also where people play football during the day, and another more interesting sport at night.
2) Campus so big we got jeeps inside.
3) A naked man with only a leaf covering him standing in front of the admin building.
4) Stud farm inside the campus (o-ha!)
5) Carillon, a tall structure with an old bell on top that serenades us twice a day.
6) Lagoon, another make out spot at night.
7) 2 churches, one's pyramid shaped, the other's like a space ship.
8) Our very own police force.
9) University Avenue, a long stretch of road leading to the campus. It lets you contemplate the grandeur of the place you're entering. LOL
10) Theater where they hold the annual Star Awards. (shoveez)
11) We don't need to stand when we recite.
12) Last I can think of, but certainly not the least, PILA! Pila to enlist, pila to pay, pila to pee, pila to get a ride. Kaya kami UP.

Another thing annoying is that binabalibag nila yung bag mo sa deposit counter! Naaawa talaga ako sa bag ko kasi inaapi siya ng malditang bruha. Isa pa, sila pa ang may ganang magalit kapag mali yung bag na binigay sa iyo sa check-out. Leche talaga yang mga guards na yan, dapat nang palitan....hehehe :)

Wanna be in Europe? Just enter the UST campus and you'll get to see France, the Vatican, Louvain, Spain and Buckingham Palace oh, the Royal guards at the back of the Grandstand... I thought I was in Queen Elizabeth's palace!

They say the campus is a semblance of Oxford University!

I really love walking along the stretch of the Benavides Drive - those trees... God, I really miss Santo Tomas!

Have any one of you visited the UST Library? hoolala... bodacious - that neo-architectural designed building!

Too bad, the administration constructed a two-level parking structure similar to that in Ayala center fronting Rustan's. It somehow destroys the tranquil ambience.

The toll of the bell at the top of the Main Building at every hour truly makes the UST a European university!

Its beauty is really awesome!

And of course, what else, the Thomasian education. Oh, St. Thomas Aquinas- the special personal refraction of God's wisdom!

kmunster: Ewan ko lang kung anong ibig sabihin niya doon. The Ateneo's Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math, Psychology, SA, and Philosophy Departments are considered as CHED Centers for Excellence in the country. Other schools also have this distinction, but only a few lang (UP, La Salle).

Pero agree ako sa Chemistry part. The Philippine Institute for Pure and Applied Chemistry is in the Ateneo, and so is the National Chemistry Instrumentation Center, which houses, I think, one of only two nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometers in the country today. Syempre alam ko lahat yan, ChCE major yata ito!

yes dominicus, oxford-ish talaga and looks like those stunning european universities. when i went to the university of toronto (UoT) i thought i was inside santo tomas! UoT, like santo tomas exudes a very pulchritudinous atmosphere.

and i am proud to say that the royal and pontifical university of santo tomas (next to u.p. for having the most centers of excellence according to ched ) is really oh so bodacious!

while the ust pangunahing gusali a wide variety of features, check out the st martin de porres bldg. a.k.a. Medicine Bldg. Pagpasok mo pa lang sa lobby at both sides, you can see paintings of Vicente Manansala. Sa first floor, there's the ELECTRON MICROSCOPY UNIT, where of course andoon ang electron microspcope mg ust. There's also the Pathology Museum where you can find the diferent specimens such as organs with cancer, mutilated feet and legs, siamese twins and of course the two-headed baby. at the second floor, there's the nursing laboratory which simulates a real hospital setting. sa pt side naman, there's their equipments used for therapy of patients. sa fourth floor there's the cadaver's which smeels like mentos and of course the UST Cinematorium.

we have the only water-proof, stain-proof raincoat-like skirt for our uniforms!!! and the most number of buttons to match!
we have the weirdest rules made to try and make us into the perfect little catholic girls that we should be like our skirt length should not go past nor higher than our calf!!
and of course the most unique and the WEIRDEST thing our high school ever had are, unfortunately no longer there---US!!!! :) 98' stones hehe.

The UST Jubille Gate was inagurated last Dec 16, 1999. It's like a sliding gate, I think it's automatic (machine controlled) kasi it will be difficult if you will slide it manually. Mabigat!

Since alot of people posted something about DLSU already, I'll just say something unique about my old school (CSA). CSA has a really big cafeteria, it's as long as 6 basketball courts lined up. We also have an indoor rockclimbing gym called Planet Rock. :)

1. ganda ng lobby parang hotel :D

3. si manang sa labas, kahit 80 years old na sha di pa din nakakalimutan mga utang namin. :evilgrin:

4. yung taga- bantay sa parked cars is completely blind pero alam nya kung anong model, year made, color, brand ng car mo and he knows how much yung bayad mo sa parking kaya hirap lokohin. (oh! ano? meron kayo nyan?) :eek:
