Are you sure Mapua is still the best Eng'g school in the land? What circa? I believe, it has always been UP College of Engineering. Based on facts and statistics like COEs/CODs granted by CHED and Board Exam performance for the past years, Mapua is already a far fourth from the three leading Engineering schools in the country today; UP, UST and DLSU. Eng'g schools like Don Bosco, San Carlos, St. Louis and Adamson are not also far behind from you. Just a fact!

I learned that in my Rizal class as documented in one of the books about Rizal (I think Leon Ma. Guerrero in The First Filipino). And as BadGiRL mentioned, it was because he wasn't as happy with the Dominicans as compared to the Jesuits. If I remember correctly, proff of this is thge mediocre grades he got while studying in UST.

Hindi ko naman inaaway ang UST, I'm just reporting what I learned.

I'm sorry if it seems that I'm just starting another war, but I'm just merely pointing out historical facts that make me proud of my school. Limerick was correct; I am proud of my school because one of its alumni was one of the greatest Filipinos who ever lived. Likewise, the school is also proud in producing such an alumnus. If people misinterpret that as something else, well, sorry na lang kayo.
Yung topic naman eh "What can you boast about your university?" Kung gusto kong ipagmayabang na nangggaling si Rizal, Luna, at kung sino-sino pang heroes sa Ateneo, that's just because I'm proud of it. :)

I am here in Illinois and am enrolled in Northwestern. I guess its history, student body, administration, faculty, staff, facilities and course offerings make it one of the best in the USA. BTW, I just answered your topic ok? I did not mean to say American Universities are better, although I must admit there are a few Philippine colleges and universities that the American system recognizes as equivalent. To name a few, UP, UST, FEU, Ateneo, LaSalle, San Sebastian Recoletos Manila, UE, CIT, Mapua Silliman U, Cebu Institute of Tech. These are just some ok? I got the names from a Higher Board of Education listing which my mom has. She teaches in the University of Chicago.
