since marami ata sa mga pexers Ateneo graduates, i need help. who are the best or recommendable profs sa philo and sa theo?
with best, i mean, marami kang matutunan pero hindi siya strikto sa grades... marami kang matutunan pero hindi siya nambabagsak... basta yung matututo ka talaga, kahit maraming trabaho...

for philo take Gus Rodriguez...ultra cool teacher yan...funky sya :D he's into NGO work so he knows a lot of examples during discussions...(grade-wise fair naman sya)
for theo hmm si Salvaña is cool too (medyo madali yung tests nya)...pero syempre walang tatalo kay Fr. Dacanay (matrabaho daw pero worth it)

For Theo 131 and 151, take Fr. Dacanay, you have to do extra work(not just the required work) to get an A. But he has this way of teaching that is really great. Th141 Fr. Gorospe na siguro ang pinaka-okay...
For Philo 101 and 102, okay naman si Lagliva, pero baka tamarin ka... or Fr. Feriols.
Philo 103 I recommend Giordano or Hermida... Giordano does not really require you to do the readings but if you want to you can learn a lot, and he's subject is a survey of religious thinkers and ideas, not a study of religion.
Philo 104, I would say Fr. David is the best,he is very intimidating and he gives out a lot of work, but you're almost sure of a B/B+ if you do it and he is great during oral exams.

Theology 131 at 151, hari si Fr. Dacanay. Nobody comes close sa matututunan mo. Theo 141, kay Bobby Guevarra ka dapat. Gaganahan ka dito.
Philo, kung magtuturo si Eddie Boy Calasanz, try and get him. He's really a taskmaster at talagang pahgihirapan ka niya, The Rock can't promise good grades but he will promise major learning. http://www.pinoyexchange.com/evil.gif

Theo 131: Salvana is the best gradewise, but learning-wise would be Dacanay as they all say.
Theo 141: Gorospe forever, and its a plus if you get pretty girls who like to dress up for your group presentation....
Theo 151: I got Astorga and she had us read so much, but we got lucky that she had to go to the states so wala kaming orals....If I were you I'd take Parco na lang, shes hard at first, but is easier afterwards. If you want an easy B, take Father Meehan
Philo 101-102: Ewan ko, basta De Jesus is hard
Philo 103: Giordano will give you that ever so elusive B+ or A, and you only need to attend the class 4 times, the first day to submit your index card, 2 more days when the quizzes are held, and then the final oral exams. You dont even need to submit your paper in class. Tip, try to get the later classes, especially TTH para you get leakage sa quizzes
Philo 104: Nobody beats Father David. I agree that he will scare you at first, but you would not believe his attitude int he final oral exams. Just be prepared to shell out around 1,500 or more. 1,000 goes to your readings and the rest to the photocopiers at the reserve section for you will need a lot of references. Just make sure you go to class and read up.....

Philo 104: Get Fr. Louie David S.J. aka. Plato aka. The Philosopher King of Ateneo! I suggest you buy a copy of The Republic, but if cant just photo-copy the whole book! But be sure to buy the Booknotes/Cliffnotes, thats your sure bet. He's gonna work you like a horse, and wait, does he still give those random card, daily oral recitation tests? Those could be pretty freaky if your not prepared. Do good on your orals and yer all set. If its still group orals, pray you get cool/smart/supportive teammates, if not, your on your own. http://www.pinoyexchange.com/smokin.gif

i've been under giordano, and man, he's one human sedative. it's kinda hard to relate with him coz he's a foreigner. because of him, i broke my rule of never having to cut class in college.
i learned a lot from fr. nemesio que. he's not strict, very approachable in fact, but he gives greater weight on recitation if u could deal with that. 50% of your grade comprises the final oral exams. you'll get to see his office in kostka where he takes care of big and lovely goldfishes!

1. Dr. Giordano isn't all that bad. I actually find him very funny. And when you really pay attention to him, you'll realize how much he tries to make the material more accessible to the students.
2. I don't think Gus Rodriguez teaches at the Ateneo anymore.
3. Mr. De Jesus isn't very easy to please, but I wouldn't say that taking him is hard. The key to get him to like your writing is to put in as much philosophical insight from a very ordinary experience to your essays. He appreciates a lot of creativity also. And don't be shy to talk in class. Don't be shy to look at him either. It doesn't hurt at all.
4. Fr. Dacanay is indeed a teacher to take. Very witty, very sharp, but scary to ire! It's imperative that you do everything he tells you to do, and double check. Some say though, that he's pretty much preoccupied by sex (hahaha, what with all his green jokes and hirits) and that he can be too objective and set in his ways to the point of being obstinate pero all the same, he's a teacher to experience and really learn a lot from. Plus, he remembers you even after two years!
5. Fr. David is also one to 'experience'. The readings he requires are a huge huge pocket-emptier. The papers he requires spell STRESS and SLEEPLESS NIGHTS but otherwise they're a lot to learn from, really. Matrabaho talaga, pero matututo ka talaga! Don't be fooled by his seemingly stern demeanor, he's a real sweetie when he smiles. Watch out for the rare ocassion!
Oh by the way, don't submit your papers late. I submitted two of mine (together) late and he gave me F's for both of them. Even then, I managed to get a B for my final grade, from only my orals and final paper. Ganun sya ka-considerate. :)

i think dacanay's forte is 131. he's okay rin in 151, but it pales in comparison to his 131. he's really strict. he won't hesitate to scream at you in class. and with him, friendship doesn't matter. we're very good friends and he gave me okay grades. but when i saw him again in the law school (yes, he teaches a theo course in ateneo law), he gave me a C!!!! even if puro B+ & A yung mga quizes ko. why? kasi daw, he expected MORE from me. haay.. dacanay talaga.
for philo, i took oris. i don't know if she still teaches there. i like her reading material. cool. iba. pero super interesting.

For Philo 101-102, I think Dr. Angeles rules! Excellent Philo teacher. And Fr. David gave me nightmares of Platonic cave-allegories, public and private spaces, and towering mountains of photocopied texts; but we really did learn a lot from him, and I was very inspired.

BEST:
1. Dax Manacsa - dahil sa kanya hanggang ngayon im still "declaring" legal terms and such. pero Pol Sci 100 was never boring under Dax. ang galing niya! and it didnt hurt that he had such a "big" voice for a "little" man. sabi nga ng friends ko, yung sa kabilang classrooms dalawa ang natututong lesson, yung class nila at yung class ni Dax. :D
2. Brigs Lim - i didnt know Chinese was fun until he taught it. ang fun sobra ng Chinese tapos lagi pa siyang nagaatempt na magpatawa with his really corni jokes. pero matatawa ka hindi sa kanyang mga jokes kundi sa kanya kasi pag tumatawa siya, wala na talaga siyang mata!
3. Susan Evangelista - nanay ko sa department. pero ok siya kasi sobrang first week pa lang kilala na niya kaming lahat sa class in all her classes by name! tapos lagi siyang nagbibigay ng "constructive criticisms" and those were really helpful naman tapos taas pa magbigay ng grades...
WORST:
1. Sir Porcuna - worst sobra! as in like two-three weeks idi-"discuss" namin ang isang chapter. maswerte na kami kung umabot ng dalawang chapter... tapos after a week or so, maglolong test na raw kami on at least four chapters. eh p**a! dalawa lang ang diniscuss niya! tapos around a month before the finals, dinidiscuss niya yung term paper namin. kailangan kasama to blah, blah, blah tapos nalaman namin kailangan at least seventy pages! p**a! tapos after namin pinagusapan ang term paper sabi niya o long test uli, 3-4 chapters...p**ang*na! ni hindi niya diniscuss yun! buti na lang wala na siya... http://www.pinoyexchange.com/grrr.gif
yun muna...yung iba kasi parang ang hirap ilagay coz theyre still working at Ateneo at mamaya makarating... lam niyo na... basta as of now yan ang aking best and worst...

Mister Dean: I already had Dax for Pol Sci last sem and ang galing niya! I really had fun sa class niya. laging laughing session. would you believe, apart from Chinese, class niya lang ang wala akong cut ever? as in only class without a cut since i stepped sa Ateneo na sobrang walang reward, yung tipong one grade higher pag perfect attendance? hehe. la lang :D

Best Teachers:
Yup! 2 thumbs up for Mr. Dacs Manacsa! He's really one of the best and you'll really learn a lot from him.
Mr. Alex Puente: I'm not sure if he's still there but he's the best English teacher. He's really nice and you can approach him on just about anything.
Mr. Sev Sarmenta: He puts his teachings into practical applications and his class is never boring.
Mr. Rani Hermida: For those taking philo, make sure you get him because he's the one of the best teachers in philo and he makes sure that you understand those philo concepts.
Mr. Martin Yap: He teaches French, Spanish and Italian. He'll make sure that you understand those foreign language and he's really nice as well.
Worst Teachers:
Mr. Tejido: If you're fond of memorizing, take him but you'll never really learn anything from him.
Mrs. Soriano: One of those teachers who thinks that you ought to know what she has known. She teaches French.
WEll, I'll think about the other worst teachers. Thank God the really bad ones got fired!!! Hallelujah!!! There's justice in this world!!!!

The Best
1. Mrs. Maria Teresa Pineda-Tinio rarely gives B/B+/A's, but a superb teacher.
the most obnoxious english teacher around.
2. Dr. Leovino Garcia one of the best philosophy teachers at the Ateneo.
3. Dr. Catherine Lagunzad you'd be shocked to know that she reviews her class before quizzes. very accomodating and funny. take biology under her.
4. Dr. Jose Marasigan the master magician. if you think you've failed his math subjects, you're in for a big surprise.
5. Dr. Queena Lee-Chua she checks math exams like she does essays. very subjective when grading. of course, this is a plus for very good students, who usually gets As even if they haven't got a single answer right.
6. Dr. Benilda Santos the great feminist. the best Filipino teacher the Ateneo can offer.

here are my choices:
1. philo:
a) Calasanz - bar none. probably best teacher i ever had. those of you currently in college, get him if you have the chance.
Quotable quote: "Para malampasan, kailangang daanan."
b) Fr. Que - exceptional clarity of thought and elegance of expression.
c) Dr. Angeles - iron lady, mother figure, great sense of humor. think "winnie monsod teaches philo".
d) Fr. Ferriols - an encounter with Fr. Roque is an affirmation of one's mere creaturehood.
2. theo:
a) Bobby Guev - who Amos or Elijah or Isaiah would have been were they alive today and teaching Liberation Theology at the Ateneo. If I ever forget what it means to be an Atenean, I will just try to remember what Bob Guev is like-- competent, compassionate, committed.
Quotable quote: (In response to a senior's query about what she is to do after college)"Go where you will be most happy. Go where you are most needed."
b) Fr. Dacanay - faith seen through the lens of rigorous thinking; professionalism exemplified and fairness personified; unmatched wit
Quotable quote :(on seeing a student walk into his class in shorts and slippers)"Do not turn my classroom into your bedroom!!!"
3. History
a) Henry Totanes - one's Ateneo college experience just isn't quite complete until one has seen Mr.T's reenactment of McArthur's Leyte landing.
4. Math
a) Queena Lee - Wow. Bow. Amen.

Fr. Dacanay: sa sobrang galing niya mag-explain at magclarify ng arguments, naaalala ko pa iyong theo131 lessons ko
Sir Totanes: nakak-motivate, makes history come alive, very smart but down to earth: kahit wala kang gana, magkakagana ka; at lagi pa nakasmile
Doc Angeles: bihira lang iyong matalino at magaling pa magpaliwanag nung mga konsepto, lalo na hirap ng tinuturo niya: philo!
Is Doreen Fernandez still teaching? Gusto ko rin siya. She always gives your work a chance, and tells you nicely kung nasaan iyong weak points mo, and she tells you what you have potential in and where your talents are inclined to.

best:
Doc Mara - sobra galing magturo ng math! as in, super clear kaya ang dali maintindihan ng calculus!
Mr. Salvador Bernal - he's kind of "strange" in a really good way. basta, i learned a lot from him.
worst:
Roxy Pantoja - ugh! super gulo magturo ng lesson! wala tuloy ako natutunan sa c.
Mike Chiong - argh, another cs teacher! ang tamad niya magturo, grabe. tapos sobrang favoritism pa. grrrr!

3. Danton Remoto - he may shock you, he may scare you, but you'll never forget him, and everything you learn from him.
4. Mark Vincent Escaler - he may seem a little geeky, a little nerdy, but the man packs dynamite for a brain, and his insight is astounding. http://www.pinoyexchange.com/smokin.gif
The worst teacher:
1. Jean Page - sobrang labo. 'ala kang maiintindihan sa philo niya. http://www.pinoyexchange.com/angry.gif
2. Mel Marcojos - this jabroni was a math teacher who didn't care if you were learning from him or not. http://www.pinoyexchange.com/grrr.gif

BEST:
Alex Puente (English) - nice and pleasant, enthusiastic
Paul Go (English) - entertaining...he's very strict with attendance but his class makes everyone want to show up every time
Noel del Prado (Filipino) - I don't knnow if he still teaches..he gives a lot of free cuts but always requires graded recitation..he has a great way of pushing you to your limits..you can learn a lot plus he gives high grades
Mark Escaler (Comm Theory) - super smart, gives enlightening and intellectually-stimulating lectures
Ruey De Vera (Comm-Journalism)- almost, if not as entertaining as Paul Go...parang barkada ang dating...
WORST:
Marichi Castro-Guevara (SA)- too obssesive-compulsive...teaches excessively by-the-book...inconsiderate..treats her students like dumb babies
Fabian Dayrit (Science) - boring and gives low grades
Rosar Crisostomo (Theo) - as they said, the teacher who makes you hate Theo...narrow-minded

I really didn't pay attention in class so I can't really make a comprehensive critique about the teachers but I'll try... :D
Best:
1. Dean Garcia (not the artista http://www.pinoyexchange.com/lol.gif )- I actually had an idea wut Philo was all about... and that's definitely a good thing.
2. Fr. Leonard http://www.pinoyexchange.com/angel.gif - I didn't know one can make History "un-boring" before I met this guy. Heaven is a better place with him around. :)
3. Bing Polo- I have no idea how he teaches SA21 but I never attended his class and the guy still gave me an A... woohoo!!! :D
Worst:
1. Mrs. Soriano- Wut can I say? She's hella boring and I couldn't figure out half of wut she was saying. Good thing she's now gone from the Eco dept.
2. Tugado- an acolyte of Dean Garcia... so, I was really disappointed.

Fav./hate Teachers in Ateneo... hmmm... always wanted to make a dream list like this... in no particular order
fav.
1. Dax Manacsa: had him in HS before having him again PoS 100. Bait talaga and he helped me understand why our country needs good people running it not only now but in the future as well.
2. Erick Lirios: Too bad he isn't there anymore, most down to earth teacher I ever had. Parang barkada talaga ang dating. Got me to appreciate the english language better.
3. Fr. Nemy Que: OK, so I didn't exactly get the best grades in Philo because of him (C+ lang ako) but he opened up my mind to a lot of things and everyone of his classes wasn't a dull moment, even if we were talking about Thomas Aquinas for weeks on end...
4. Sev Sarmenta: Funniest Comm Teacher I've ever had... knows what is practical to learn yet somehow grounds it in the basic concepts of Comm. Did my best video work for him.
5. Fr. Lahiff: Got lucky enough to get him during one of his final years as a teacher. Still, it was the best history class I've had in my entire College life.
Worst
1. Fr. Lito Reyes: Actually, ok siya, sobra lang may pagka green minded nang konti. Oh well... Wonder if he is still teaching?
2. Nanette Dyco: A bane to all Comm majors of my batch. Sige, sabihin na nating dati siyang big banana sa advertising, pero sobra siya talaga!!! unprepared sa class talaga at pabago bago ang isip. I pray she has improved na ng konti.
3. Dr. Violet Valdez: Gak!!! reinforced my belief that not all people with splendid resumes and Ph.D's don't make good teachers or in my case, thesis advisers!
4. Dr. Peregrino: 2 straight filipino classes with him... bored the hell out of me... and he grades with a particular favor for certain people (tsk, tsk, griping kahit wala na sa College)
5. my math teachers in first year...
PS- pagbigyan na ninyo si Ruey, color blind na nga ang tao eh... and anyway, what would the world be without his trademark black and white/black and black ensemble?

many have been saying that manacsa is one of the best teachers they've encountered. no doubt abt that since he makes the lessons very interesting and attention-grasping. however, there are many loopholes in what he teaces his students. in fact, if you consult qualified lawyers and political science experts abt the lessons he teach, some are inaccurate. there was even one time that if there was only an intent, he could have been charged with libel when discussing the legislative branch of the government. wala lang, i just wanted to share.

Lizette Corpuz (Math) - very good teacher. makes u understand the lesson. hindi trying hard na puro english ang salita. taglish makes it easier for students to understand. taas pa magbigay ng grade! i recently got a 95 in her exam! :)
Jerry Dy (Chem) - marami kang matututunan sa kanya. sobra as in! practical application of chemistry. bait pa! kaso nga lang, hirap ng tests nya but very considerate.
Worst:
Sabrina Ghimire (Math) - olats magturo. hindi marunong. doesn't see the effort of the student. no mercy. bwiset!
Rafael Acuna (English) - very much against society. likes american education and this guy who wrote a very deep essay. gusto niya essay mo tulad nung essay na gawa nung student na nakita niya sa internet!

fr. dacanay! and he makes a good friend too. :D
fr. leonard... god bless his soul. nowl: remember his "push-the-sun-up" routine?
fr. cruz for history... i got a c+ lang in his rizal and the emergence of the filipino people, but i loved the readings. a real eye opener. he made rizal come out like a real brat...
fr. cruz for film theory... he's so cute! he laughs at his own jokes pa. todo cutey! after that class, i became more concious of the elements in film. and to think i'm an LM major. :D not a single artsy fartsy bone in my body until that class... galing...
lloyd tanlu for accounting.. he doesn't teach anymore, but man, he was a great teacher. he was a slave driver in reality, but he was so darn nice that you didn't even notice it. his long tests were even harder than midterms and finals. kaya pagdating ng exams, nadadalian yung mga nasa class niya. 3 out of the top 5 people with the highest accounting grades belonged to his class. now that must tell you something. he was so nice, that he gave us his home fone number to call in case we had a question while reviewing for his exam. i even remember him calling up my house to check if 2 of my barkadas (who were in danger of failing) were studying with me. he told me to make sure they studied hard. galing no? i hate math, but tanlu really inspires you. ganyan ang teacher!!! and he even emails us once in a while. :D he's the best!

1. Aida Reyes- She's got lots of stories to tell. Many say she's hard but for me, even though i only got a C in Finance, i enjoyed every 2 1/2 hour meeting. Shes also a great Advanced Marketing Teacher, i got an A
2. Fr. David- You may say he's got impossible readings, but then you will gain a lot of confidence in books you have never though of reading
3. Paul Go- He was very funny and loves to tell stories to his class. Sometimes we spend the entire period talking about his love life! You also learn a lot.
WORST
1. Flor Francisco- Geez talk about a rude introduction to the Ateneo. She was my Ma 18 teacher and boy did she love to talk to the blackboard. i dont think she knew a single person's name in class! I got a D though
2. James Paul Esguerra- Talk about being a ***** teacher for 2 units! geez his lab requirements were impossible since he checks your grammar and writing style
3. Henry Escuadro- Did not like his teaching style, got an F
4. Quiohilag- Made me hate Operations Management. Imagine, during the final presentation, we were the highest in class, with a C+

I agree with the others, Mr. Manacsa is probably the best teacher I've had ever! He makes PolSci really interesting. Kahit corny yung ibang jokes niya, benta siya sakin.
Mark Escaler is ok, minsan nga lang boring. Pero he's adorable - lalo na in his patented black and white outfits.
For freshies taking English, sana makuha niyo si Cyan Abad. She's really nice, really friendly, and I think she's a pretty good teacher. Kung gusto niyo ng magaling din pero exact opposite pag dating sa personality, si Maria Aguilar! Mamahalin mo siya, pero pag tapos na yung sem.
Worst?
I know maraming magd-disagree, pero I really do not like Mr. Figueroa (Philo). Mahal siya ng marami pero hindi ko talaga na-enjoy ang Philo dahil sa kanya. Ang hilig kasi magbuhat ng sariling bangko - PESTE!

esguerra... is he the ex teacher? yeah.... i had him too... talk about schmuck!although okay yun field trip namin... grabe... kaasar sha. we didn't have much of lab in the latter part, pero 730-12 yun lab sched namin. and he'd only use up 30 minutes sometimes. but he insisted on taking the 730-8am time instead of the last 30 minutes. so it always ended up that we'd have a majorly long break kasi by 8am, tapos na sha eh... kainis!!!!

The Rock took her up in his first sem back at the Ateneo. Being the only Grad Student in her class of over 30 undergrads was fun, but everything else about it was hell. http://www.pinoyexchange.com/angry.gif She sucks bigtime. She doesn't teach. All she talks about is her life in "J. Walter Thompson". Even have friends who graduated with The Rock in '96 who had a name for her class:J. Walter 101. She has no lesson plan, doesn't remember students' names, is rude to students, and always late. She's also boring and barely teaches what should be taught in her class, namely advertising. For God's sake, if you have a choice, Don't take Diyco's class!!! http://www.pinoyexchange.com/angry.gif http://www.pinoyexchange.com/angry.gif http://www.pinoyexchange.com/grrr.gif http://www.pinoyexchange.com/grrr.gif You'll be a lot happier somewhere else.

1. Bobby Guev - naging isang kaibigang tunay ... "Teolohiya ng Pagpapalaya" (We do not own this land, we just borrowed it from our Children)
2. Dax Manacsa - ang galing ng mga kwento niya at mga props sa klase
3. Mr. T - maraming corning jokes pero ok din

6. Dr. Ilustrisimo - the best PE teacher ... :)
7. Queena Lee - teacher ko sa Stat 109 ... made stat very easy
Worst
1. Tejido - memorization lang lahat
2. Glenn Garfield Ong Ang - si Cyclops " the man with the red shades and the umbrella and the 6 sets of attire for the whole year and the alarm clock"
3. Ferdie - (math dept) - teacher ko sa Ma 22 ... final exam niya sa math ay multiple choice ... walang partial points
4. Parco - antok na antok ako sa klase nya tapos nakakaantok pa siyang magturo ....

hi guys: let me share my list of teachers:
the best:
paul go- had him for two sems, and he's really cool. he talks to you on the same level, hindi parang teacher.so passionate about his work, and makes an effort to know your name. very principled, and knows your strong points!!!
marilyn uy-for those taking up Accounting, hope you get her. sobrang patient, and
religious. never freaks out!
venus ibarra-sobrang galing. mahirap nga lang ang assignments and long tests, pero marami kang matututunan.
carlo carrascoso- again, sobrang talino. gives you a lot of practical tips on finance and management. funny too.
john aguas (LM majors)-sobra, kunin nyo to. he'll make you laugh and learn at the same time. sobrang barkada. he gives out kitkat bars at the end of the sem. gives good grades too.
cheds reyes- sayang, wala na sya. brilliant mind, eloquent, principled.
fr. ferriols- one word. meron.
fr. luis candelaria-he teaches org behavior. sobra, kahit matanda na, funny pa rin. and he seems to know everything. at 82, he still knows what he's doing. ang bait bait. basta perfect attendance ka, and submit your requirements, A ka na. pero you'll really learn a lot of practical things.
the worst:
adrian ramos- sobrang isip bata, kasi kakagraduate lang nung 99. although he graduated with honors, he doesnt know a thing about teaching. sobrang favoritism, he'll give you a good grade, pag kinaibigan mo. and ang tagal magcheck ng papers. plus, parang hindi alam ang tinuturo.
he doesnt give a damn about your projects. so kung teacher mo sya sa OPMAN, umasa ka na na mababa ang grade mo sa project, which is about 40% of your grade.
delmair
Jun 11, 2000, 11:55 AM
The Best:
May konting dagdag pa ako:
Philo:
Fr. David - intimidating lang yan, pero pag-dating sa orals, he's almost leading you to the answer. (Mag-basa ka lang paminsan minsan)
Giordano- nakakaantok paminsan pero pag-gising ka marami kang makukuha, research para sa papers ang importante.
CS:
Bong Olpoc - the best all around CS teacher. Try to get him as much as you can since marami siyang pwedeng ituro.
Jody Magtoto - he's leaving already, but he is the multimedia and EP teacher to get.
Ariel Maguyon- approachable and will adjust his pace to the class.
The Worst:
CS:
Dr. Yumol - get him if you are MIS, he's the best if you are in this course. Don't get him if you are CS, sobrang bias against Computer Science na nakakainsulto na.

Fr. Nemy Que - Philo at its finest.
Fr. Dacanay - A true Jesuit. Intelligent, evil, thought provoking. Honestly though, I believe he has deepened my faith.
Fr. Asandas Balchand - A demanding teacher, but if you keep an open mind, you will learn a lot about the problems of the world and what you can do.
Fr. Candelaria - Business at its finest.
Doreen Fernandez- English at its finest.
Danton Remoto - Shocking but good.
Marivic Gustilo - The Psych Dept.'s finest teacher.
Fr. Lahiff - God bless his soul. No wonder he was so loved.
Ms. Ricafort - she doesn't teach anymore but what an ANGEL. =) My ideal woman (intelligent, beautiful, funny). Too bad she got married. Unfortunately, very distracting, got my lowest History grades in her class (B). She is still one of those women I compare all my potentials against. Nobody has come close yet.=)

There aren't a lot of really good teachers in the Ateneo. But from the very few that I've encountered, these guys and gals are definitely "tops", and of course who can miss the really bad ones. They are lower than being SUCKY. But what really gets to you is that you actually remember these boneheads. Anyways... the really good ones are...
1. Dr. Totanes Dr. T, not Mr. T anymore Agimat :D I don't think any words can aptly describe him. I really think everyone should be under him otherwise they've missed what it means to learn History 166. He gives new meaning to the word "educate" and nowhere else have I learned to like a subject I haven't enjoyed before, until he came along. He's just one of a kind. http://www.pinoyexchange.com/smokin.gif
2. Fr. Dacs All I can say is that this priest is nuts, well he'll drive you nuts anyways. He's hilarious but he always teaches seriously when needed... which is most of the time. If I'm not mistaken he was tops in his class in Europe which is why he's an authority in Canon law (I think). You're not going to get a lot of A's here, and you're going to have to work your butt off to satisfy his preference... but you're certainly going to know your stuff in the end. http://www.pinoyexchange.com/smokin.gif
3. Ariel Maguyon You'll never see anyone have the kind of concern this guy has regarding his classes. He teaches great and he'll repeat until someone has understood the topic fully. He'll even cut time from his breaks to make sure of that. He seems like one of the guys and he doesn't have those teacher-complex-I'm God-You're crap, kind of thing going on. If you're up for MIS, this guy is a hands down choice. I'll plug the new site he put up for him too (I better get paid for this hehe)... :D You can visit his site at http://members.xoom.com/aamaguyon. Very spiffy.
4. Cheds Reyes Great minds. I guess I'm happy she finished teaching her great 1st year with ADMU and us before I heard news about her having a superiority complex. I hope it's not true though... what a waste. It was great to have her open your mind up (pick it) and find a way to truly dialogue with her studes. You'll rarely find Philo teachers like that in the campus. And what's scary is that you might even find yourself in Fr. Roche's class where he'll scream "I'll pin you to the wall!" because you don't agree with him. http://www.pinoyexchange.com/lol.gif
The BAD and DESPICABLY UGLY http://www.pinoyexchange.com/bop.gif
1. Ho Sung Lee If you can tell one faculty member to go to HELL... this guy's the MAN! He thinks he's some Godsend and know-it-all but he's a good for nothing Darwin-Yu slave Korean maggot. Get a life.
2. Antonia Santos She's a rich old woman who TRIES to teach history but ends up boring everyone to death. She gives really weird tests and after you've finished her course you'd be wondering where you came from. Definitely not worth it at all. She doesn't need to be a teacher. If she's all rich, she should just quit so the Ateneo can be rid of one really bad apple.
3. Magtoto He MAY know his stuff, but he's got a lot to learn about teaching. It's useless if he knows all the does and simply asks the class to read something or put on the board whatever needs to be done and then leaves. He'll come back when there's 10 minutes left and say Goodbye.
Ain't life peachy.

dax manacsa is definitely the best. he makes the subject interesting and somehow relate to you. so kahit na wrong grammar siya, you wouldn't mind so much bec. u get to feel that he's so uncorrupted by the world at the same time he's grounded on reality.
the worst is diyco. she undermines your intelligence. once, she was giving out a quiz, e wala na syang maisip na question, kaya eto na lang: what do u learn from oprah's writing exercise? DUH!!!!

your college life as an atenean will never be complete without having a Jesuit as your professor. For me, the most memorable times I had were in Fr. Dacanay's Theology of Marriage class (who can forget someone like him? the best, just the very best!!), in Fr. Joey Cruz's Rizal class (mild-mannered but intimidating), in Fr. Gorospe's Liberation Theology class and our trek up Mt. Banahaw, and last but certainly not least...Fr. David's Philosophy class with his infamous mile-high readings, daily recitations, and 15-page philosophical essay. I just thank God I was able to have them as my teachers.

lek-lek, marilyn uy is not only good, she's super bait pa! she was my org mate before at ACMG. in one of our prayer sessions she cried because of too much pressure in her studies but in the end, she got a qpi of 4! and she's always getting a qpi of 4 or 3.7+ huh! super talino rin. btw, she has a twin who's equally mabait and matalino, in case you don't know.
HATED TEACHERS:
1. Shayne Lumbera- narrow-minded when it comes to fiction and poetry. Annoyingly feministic (no offense to girls, but she seems to take advantage of the few-ness of the men in our class that time.)
2. Esguerra- slave-driver! Ilang unit ba ang ES Lab? Kala naman niya sa subject niya umiikot ang buong college life ng mga estudyante niya! And to the one who said na nagche-check pa ng grammar and stuff, YOU ARE SO RIGHT! Talo pa niya english teacher! Feeling kung sino.

He is probably one of The Rock's all time favorite people, not just teacher. :D The Rock got Fr. Leonard the year before he passed away. The man was a walking, talking encyclopedia on wars, ships, cigarette smoking, etc. He was amazing! For an elective in Film Seminar, nobody beats Fr. Nick Cruz. Sometimes referred to as "Ziggy", Fr. Nick introduced The Rock to the world of European cinema, and The Rock is eternally grateful. Now that The Rock is taking his masters, The Rock jumped at the opportunity to take an elective outside Comm and in the Psych Dept. where the legendary Fr. Jaime Bulatao teaches. It's just been one week so The Rock can't judge yet, but so far, Fr. Bu has been entertaining, soft-spoken, humorous, and very insightful. Much like the other Jesuit teachers. :D
If you smell what The Rock is cookin!

Until this semester I haven't had a Jesuit for an instructor, and to think this is my last year in the Ateneo! Anyway, I'm taking up Theology 151 (Christian Commitment) under Fr. Pat Giordano.
Next semester I hope to get Fr. Ferriols for Philo 104. :D

Never had Fr. O'Reilly as a teacher, but he had been a friend of my family for such a long time that he seemed someone who guided me through my years in Ateneo.
Being in Comm, I got Fr. Nick Cruz, whose reputation is already secure. I managed to get two extreme Jesuits in History, Fr. Joey Cruz and Fr. Arcilla (guess who I enjoyed as a teacher)
Fr. Meehan of Theology was a very kind man as was Fr. Lahiff of History.
And for those who come from the HS, I lived under the "legendary" Fr. Macayan... he still scares the hell out of me. :p
Jesuits have indeed made an impact in my life...

The only other Jesuit teacher I've encountered is Father Joey Cruz. Man, ang galing niya sa History. Yun nga lang, pagdating sa test, putik, ang hirap. Muntikan na akong bumagsak sa kanya.

dr. manny dy, i believe, is one of the philo dept's best kept secrets. he only teaches one class of 101, 102 per sem. i was lucky enough to get him for those to subjects. he's insightful and non-intimidating...except mag orals of course. his grades are based on papers which he gives around 3-5 times a sem, and the final oral test. easy B, as he says, all you have to do is think. and doing so, ive learned a lot from him.

I am WARNING all sophs to stay completely away from Dra. A. Santos for history. I made the mistake of taking her for 165 (yata) and I spent 3 weeks to get seat in her class. She's OC about the seating arrangement. We spend 1/3 of each class for the role call. And she is absolutely boring. The only consolation is that you get to make up for your cuts by attending her other classes. And she curves din pala. I deserved to flunk but I think I got a C :)
The next sem was worse. I stupidly took her mentor, Fr. Arcilla himself. Talk about jumping out of the pan and into the fire.
AVOID them at all costs...
For Philo, Dr. Manny Dy is one of the Philo Dept's best secrets. He used to teach one class of 101 (or 102) per sem. His classes are in Filipino, personally, I believe Filipino is a beautiful way to teach Philo...or Theo for that matter. Anyway, his classes are simple and yet profound.
Rodriguez ain't bad either. His classes are interesting, amusing and fruitful at the same time.
I seem to be luck in Philo but darn unlucky in History. Sheesh...

Braxis, are you referring to De Las Peñas?
My experience with teachers:

Cynthia N. Lumbera (English) -- I've heard that she doesn't do well in En14 (Poetry), but I personally can say that she's made En12 (Writing) an okay subject. She's strict when it comes to organization and grammar, which makes it a great class for sharpening those high school skills. :)

BJ Patiño (English) -- got him for En12/14. He's great! :)

Mike Chiong (CS) -- some say he's bad, some say he's fun. I liked the way he taught CS21A/B class, though I learned more from his projects. :D

Andrew Vizcarra (Math) -- got him for Math 18 (and Math in AJSS). Has a great way of making topics simple and easy to understand.

Henry Escuadro (Math) -- got him for Math 18 after Sir Vizcarra (he was a substitute). He taught the more advanced (non-high school) lessons. Made polynomials a wee-bit easier to understand. :)

Agnes Garciano (Math) -- Math 18 teacher after midterms. She's okay, I guess. She made the last topics in Math 18 (sequences, number theorem, etc) fun. :)

Luis Morano -- one of THE best Filipino teachers EVER! I never liked Filipino (I considered it more of a Foreign language), but he made it FUN and understandable. He gave the class a chance to speak for themselves, their own opinions, and corrected them if needed. :D

Norman Quimpo (Math) -- got him for Ma21. He's definitely good, although I didn't like him at first because he seemed to be a bit too stiff. But I liked the way he presented lessons in class.

Kalon Tariman (Filipino) -- Terror and Hip teacher. Get her if you want a really interesting conversation -- beit logical, philosophical, tsismis, or what. Made Fil12 very, very fun. :) Loved her insights!

Wag ding masyadong feeling matalino.

I envy the people who have taken manacsa, bobbygev, ferriols, totanes, etc.

Hayyy...
The Best!!!
Paul Gongora - Filipino, nakakatawa siya, feeling mo kabarkada mo siya, tapos he's very expressive - he acts too. Hanggang ngayon, binabati pa rin niya ako!
Paul Go - English - Sir Go! Grabe, sobrang dami kong good memories sa class niya. I really enjoyed the novels we took up and I learned so much from him. Tapos sobrang nakakatawa lahat ng anecdotes niya "chinese planets"
Sir Gochangco - Psychology! Ang cute niya! Nakakatawa! Sobrang relaxed atmosphere sa psych 101, puwede pang kumain! One of my few A's ! Hehe!
Fr. Dacanay - Isa pang nakakatuwa, kahit takot na takot ako sa kanya. I'm sitting in the front row, in the middle pa - and sobrang naninigas ako when he gives a lecture. Sobrang tino ko, and i check if my cellphone is in silent mode 1 million times before going to his class. Bawal ma-late.. teka, what can I say... Sobrang nakakatawa - unlimited cuts, but then you have to attend his classes in order to pass his killer 8-liner quizzes, but I'm learning so much from him and I'll treasure this for the rest of my life! Pag nag-aaway nga kami ng boyfriend ko, I would quote him pa! "Sabi ni Fr. Dacanay...!" He's so wise!!!! He's a canon lawyer! He's so good, baby!!!
WORST TEACHERS
Oh.. yuck...
I'm having two of the worst teachers right now... it's a bio subject.. secret muna! haha.. hope they'll pass me. ****, ang hihirap ng tests nyo as if naman magaling kayo magturo!
fr. arcilla - i don't care if you see this! ikaw lang ang jesuit (so far) na ayaw ko! it's so sad! your classes are so boring and you're so vain. all you care about is your books, and feeling mo, kailangang pang matuto kami ng spanish before taking your class. thanks also for your F in my first long test, parang wala akong sinulat dun! hayyy.. how i love to cut/sneak out of the classroom :D

The Best:
1. Mark Escaler -- he is just brilliant. He can get a little too verbose at times, but he's usually very entertaining and full of little quirks -- like his perpetual black and white Chinese waiter outfit and the ever-present mineral water bottle.
2. Doreen Fernandez -- can you take a class with her and just not love her? Sayang she wants to retire as Comm dept chair na. God forbid McRae takes over.
The worst:
1. I've never actually had him for PE, but I'm just nitpicking: that macho-kuno PE teacher who wears the tight skimpy workout wear. Mr. Matangcay? Macatangay? What was HIS childhood trauma?
2. Dr. Hornedo -- that pompous manyak. Well, maybe if I was a guy I'd love him. Pero he hates girls eh. Sobrang biased ng grading niya, and he doesn't seem to care whether you actually learn something from him or not.

She is my teacher in PR now. She holds two PR classes and an advertising management class.
Well, she boasts a lot about her experience in the field of advertising. She was a VP (I'm not really sure which department)in J. Walter Thompson. She is now working full time under the Communications department. She demands a lot from her students, lots of readings and workshops (where you have to feature companies in your class reports).
Ayokong maging personal, pero I just wonder, where does she get her clothes? ;)
For my choices:
Best: Mark Escaler (Comm)
Felice Noelle Rodriguez (His)

Fr. Arcilla - kwento lang ng kwento wala namang relevance sa topic ng course. sobrang baba pa ng magbigay ng grado.. as if mauubusan sya.
H. Escuadro - couldn't understand calc with him.. boring.. at walang patawad.. tsktsk

Eddie Boy Calasanz is very good nga daw, I heard. I heard a rumor that back when he was Fr. Ferriol's Philo student, he was given an A+. When the admi wouldn't allow this, Fr. Ferriols 'threatened' to stop teaching if he couldn't give his remarkable student the grade. O, diba? My sister says this is true. Blind item rin 'to ng English teacher ko dati. :)
I think his name hasn't come up yet... Emmanuel Torres (the curator) is a terrific English teacher! Actually, that class was a free elective, on Shakespeare Tragedies. Eddie Boy Calasanz suggested that I take him (accdg to him, Torres is the greatest English teacher ever) for my elective. I received less than a B in his class (late papers! aargh!), but I didn't mind, because I learned so much. We watched so many Shakespeare movies and discussed 4 of his tragedies at length. That was some class-- very intimate-- there were only 6 of us every Saturday at the Art Gallery!
[tidbit: Emman Torres is one RICH fella... he once produced a Vilma Santos movie...]

I've read some of the posts in this thread but I'm still wondering what the real purpose of this topic is? don't we usually solve problems when we address a new topic? I mean, so what if you like this teacher or not...anyway you're speaking for yourself alone, who could disagree with that? who would even care, right? Or is this a mere outlet for those with personal agenda with a well hated or well appreciated professor? hmmm...neways, since nandito na rin ako, sama na rin ako sa flow. I've recently interviewed a deacon regarding married life, and during the course of our conversation nag-touch kami a bit on the Jesuits. Since that's the congregation where this deacon came from and to not distance ourselves from the subject of the interview, he mentioned that there are a lot of gay Jesuits? I'm not from Ateneo and where I came from I know of a certain brother whom our HS class used to call sister (ewan ko lang kung bakit). Am just curious, are there really a lot (accdg. to Mr. deacon) of gay (kahit tagong) brothers in this school?
hehe, if true, this I believe gives new meaning to being "Men and Women for Others," or better yet "In the Service of Others."
PEACE!

If anybody deserves an A+ in Philo, it's Eddie Boy Calasanz, but unfortunately, the story's not true, according to Fr. Ferriols.
Well, marami naman kasing Ateneo legends featuring my all time favorite Philosophy teacher, Padre Roque.

I totally agree with bugsbunny...(do i know you? i think so :))
Here's my list of the BEST teachers in Ateneo:
1. Mr. Dax Manacsa
What more can I say? He's really a great teacher and motivator! After this class, you'd be a better Filipino. Attention to the people from the Ramon Magsaysay Award - here's a sure winner.
2. Ms. Marichi Guevarra
Hey, I learned a lot from Ma'am! I beg to differ that she teaches by the book. In fact, she reaserched a lot of her materials from different sources to make it a comprehensive whole. Hey, I'm still using the stuff I learned till now.
3. Soledad Reyes
I learned a lot from her classes..the insights..wow!
the WORST:
1. Mr. Porcuna
You know how awful he is? He is not in Ateneo anymore! I didn't LEARN anything. Waste of time. Enough said.
2. Blind Item
My teacher in this arts class who made me give up writing. I guess this person's okay but he is such a slave driver and doesn't motivating students ever croos this person's mind?

cronides, i don't think there's any hidden agenda here. we are all just students who get to encounter teachers who may be really smart/experts in their fields but who are not good at teaching. ganito rin pinagsusulat ko sa mga evaluation forms at the end of the semester! hehe!
this thread is really nice - tips for next sem's registration. pero matagal pa yon.
about some jesuits being gay, haven't noticed any of them to be gay - or konti pa lang talaga ang nakikita ko. and so what if they're gay? this is off-topic, but I can't condemn anyone for being gay!

ruey de vera is alright naman. as far as teaching journalism in a limited time (heck, it's a whole course in other schools) is concerned, he does pretty good job of introducing journalism to students. what else can he do besides teaching the basics and giving the student a limited idea of the working atmosphere of a journalist. and at least he makes an effort to make class interesting, corny or not :) he's alright.

You could say Pulan is my best and worst teacher. Mr. Maximo Pulan, Yale graduate, none other. Magaling siya--he's really brilliant and talagang matututo ka under him, but he is tough. Boy, is he tough! GRABE siya sobra magtambak ng work--novels, papers, tests, handouts...you get the feeling parang akala niya siya lang subject niyo, and na you're academic scholars studying for your Ph.D.'s instead of just freshies in Merit English or something.
I have learned a lot from him that I won't forget, but siya rin yung reason kung bakit wala na akong social life, plus I neglect other subjects just to try to keep up in his class. You wouldn't believe how many times I've cut class just to do his stupid 5-page papers that seem to be assigned every other meeting!

FAVE TEACHERS:
1) fr. ferriols (philo) - he's already an institution in ADMU..he's one of the best philosophers in the country..kahit nakakaantok ang klase niya..
2) salvador bernal (english) - i know lots of ppl hate him..but i loved him kasi yung apat na A's ko sa kanya hinatak yung QPI ko! he's a big name in the theater arts in pinas, i find the things he shares with us very interesting..kahit sabog yung lesson plan niya, he's very knowleadgeable. he murdered my essays but his corrections helped me improve my style. he can be okay if you get on his good side..
3) dax manacsa (PolSci) - da best!! never a dull moment in his class. i appreciated the constitution and Phil.law bec of him..ang bait pa, sarap ka-chika..
4) doc quimpo (Calculus) - marami siyang funny quotable quotes.."to write the infinity symbol, just take an eight and don't feed it for 3 days..until it collapses on its side"...and for Math 18-22 classes, he curves pa..tenks for my A's doc..hehe
5) doc enriquez (Chem) - biased ako kasi dept head namin siya..funny pa..
6) doc astorga (theo151) - she's funny and quirky.. sabi nila best friend daw ni God si ma'm astorga...she's like a mom: i invited her to one of our concerts at aba, proud na proud sa amin at bineso pa kami during the curtain call.. she's really nice..just attend her classes and listen, and you'll be fine..
7) ma'm oris (philo103) - lotsa ppl hate her..but i found her nice. kuripot nga lang sa grades..but she's very knowledgeable too..her lectures are interesting..masarap kakwentuhan..
8) fr.schmitt (chem) - isa pa tong institution na sa ADMU..may his soul rest in peace (he died when i was a sophie). he's strict as hell, i was so terrified of him..napagalitan pa ko on some occasions..but he taught us so much, Chem grads are thankful for having him as their gen chem prof..naiyak nga ako sa funeral niya e..
9) frau velasco (german) - real-life german teaching german..her classes are fun.. parang naglalaro lang kayo.
10) ate elsa (theo) - siyempre, ate ng bayan. with feelings at conviction pa kung magturo ng theo of liberation. kaka-inspire. dito kayo sa klase niya kung gusto niyo makasipsip in the name of your org!! hehe. after class, the students approach her not for theo but for OSA-related concerns :D
11) paul gongora (fil) - nakakatawa..theatrics ang klase..kavibes ng students, parang kabarkada..napagtripan pa nga ako isang beses, nakatulog kasi ako tapos tumilaok siya hanggang sa nagising ako..kahiya..hehe
12) felice noelle rodriguez (history165) - ang bait bait bait! relaxed class atmosphere..she makes history class easy and her teaching techniques remind you of high school..
13) gealogo (history166) - ewan ko kung nasa ateneo pa siya..but i found his class very interesting..cute nga e, one time his wife was sick, so dinala niya yung dalawang maliliit na anak niya sa klase..
NOT-SO-FAVE:
1) Asis (theo) - teacher na pinakakuripot magbigay ng grades sa balat ng lupa!!!!!! kala mo B o B+ ang standing mo based on pre-final grades, pero paglabas sa report card, C!! pero nakakatawa siya, i give him that. his classes are never boring. i just think i didn't deserve that C :grrr:
2) Doc Ibana (philo 104) - funny and nice..kaso nakakaantok magturo, aka ibong ibana, magiging bato ka sa kabatuhan.....masyadong lax kaya tinatamad lahat mag-aral..medyo may favoritism pa..
3) Danny Reyes - english teacher ata, pero nagsub siya sa pinoy class..he's too boring and effeminate, hina pa ng boses..mababa magbigay ng grade!
4) tirol (history) - dubbed as the probinsyanong tisoy..medyo feeling..

BEST teachers:
1 Epi Gochangco (Psych) he's so cool. he made us call him Epi, almost everyone from my class got exempted, he gave us a seminar at the end of the sem....he hypnotized us and let us go on an astral travel, gave us therapy for a few of our personal issues during class, taught us how to give therapy to a person who has phobia or bad memories. And the list goes on.....
2 Wilhelm Strebel (Philo) he's not as famous as Dr Dy or Fr Ferriols, 'cause he's still young and it's only his 2nd year of teaching. But he's really good and makes you think.
3 Dr Manny Dy (Philo) he's a good teacher, and gives you exams that'll challenge you to analyze situations while applying what you learned. He also holds his orals outdoors. He makes comments on your papers that are really personal and touching. He even made me cry once, when he put a really sincere comment on my take-home exam.
4 Dr Tejido I like him. He's like a really nice grandfather who happens to know a lot about Catholic social vision and thrust. (actually, he reminds me of Santa, but that doesn't have anything to do with this thread..hehe)
5 Obi Cambaliza (Physics) She's cool! She explained how TV's, race cars, airplanes, and other things work without making it sound so nerdy.
WORST:
1. Dr Hornedo (Fil) I didn't learn anything from him 'cause he was too busy yelling at us about how moronic we were and harassing most of my male classmates. Malas namin 'cause we only had one guy in our group so he yelled throughout our report (but kept on smiling at my male groupmate!).(He looks like Mr. Wilson, though, but I don't know what that has anything to do with this thread..:)
2 Chiong (Chem) He cut his nails while we were working on dangerous chemicals in the lab. And my classmate set one of her chemicals on fire and he was just deadma about it.
3 ISABEL NAZARENO: Sobrang SABOG!!!! kung student ka niya, mapaghahalo mo yung warring countries during the two world wars! soooo many bad memories of her! oh yeah...she yells at the microphone so that her voice can be heard by everyone...hmmm...para saan kaya ang microphone, then???

Henry Totanes - you won't realize you've had to read half of Agoncillo's book for his course since he teaches very well (lots of humor at the right time) and his grading system very fair.
Fr. Dacanay - crazy, funny and unconventional; he made TH 131 very interesting and the lessons memorable to this day.
Randy Bustamante - class discussions and activities were always fun with him in Fil 12.
Robby Villabona - he was able to keep us awake for a 3-hour Programming languages class week in and week out through a combination of good teaching, humor, and movie trivia.
Tina Astorga - she may be the slave driver of the year awardee every year at Blue Roast but all those pages of reading assignments are worth it because she'll go through them all and explain well; plus she shows a lot of dedication to her work that inspires the students to do their best at TH 151.
the late great Fr. Schmitt - super-strict Chem teacher who'll drill in the importance of discipline and honesty in Chemistry as well as the other fields of study; irreplaceable.
Dr. Robert Picart - despite giving back-breaking assigments and being hard to please when it comes to essays and presentations, he made English 26 a great learning experience not merely in literature and grammar but also in life.
Dr. Tonette Angeles - teaches Philo 101 and 102 in the context of life - past, present and future; basically shows the practical side of Philo of Man which I still think about to this day.

Pulan nga is a good teacher. Eventhough he gives loads of work, he's always mabait when it comes to grades. If he sees you working hard, he gives you high grades. But for those who underestimate him, he flunks them.
Sa mga best, boto din ako kay Christina Astorga of Theology, Noelle Rodriguez of History (sobrang mabait). Si Christina Cheng of Computer and Managements subjects, magaling magturo pero super hirap ang lahat ng exams. As in super hirap!

I had Asis for a teacher. He accused me of being "over-cut" when he himself was absent 11 times that semester. I too got a grade I did not deserve.
But my single worst teacher ever is a good friend of Tonette Angeles (which is why he wasn't fired even though my entire class filed an official complaint against him... and half of us were Jesuit Scholastics!). His name?
Jovy Miroy.
*shudder*
I kid you not, EVERYONE from my batch had problems with him. He's a disgrace to the teaching profession. He even publicly insulted one of our Jesuit scholastics from Singapore. Basically implied he was an idiot and asked (in Filipino, the coward...) if he could speak English! Of course, when confronted with a written petition for his ouster, Doc Angeles just shrugged her shoulders and didn't do a thing about it. I lost a great deal of respect for her that day.
