Lucky you. I went through 3 interviews before. When I asked for an update, they said that I'm in their active pile. Saaaaaaaaad?!
Good luck sa interview. Be as truthful as possible and make sure you have many experiences regarding your work ethics.

It's in Robonson's Summit along Ayala Ave. near Paseo de Roxas

I applied early December last year, got a call for two interviews noong late January. And yun, after the interview, wala nang nangyari. I followed up and someone told me I am in their hiring pool daw, I just wonder how many applicants are "swimming" in their pool. Methinks I need a windfall of luck to be noticed kung totoo that they keep an active file. In my case, it is difficult if you are trying to shift career. I am not in the IT field, yet.
Anyway, God bless. Questions are mostly about how you work with other people, situational questions in your academic/work past so that you can showcase your potential. Again, God bless. :)

Applied a long time ago thru their website, not expecting anything. Months after, someone from HP sent me a mail asking me to fill up the application forms so that they could schedule me for an interview immediately. I sent the forms but they never called. Kung tumawag man sila, too late na
rychu
May 30, 2005, 10:43 AM
@xxtoyxx, magkasama tayo dun. haha. also in the "hiring pool" daw. feel ko malulunod na ako dun. ang tagal e. hehe. oh well, i have a job na rin kaya bahala sila.

May 30, 2005, 12:30 PM
^ I am not waiting or expecting too much, I just wonder most of the time kung ano nangyari kasi I have a couple of friends there na at least twice a week eh nami-meet ko kaya lagi ko naaalala na "nagswi-swimming" ako sa pool nila. Hehe. It would be nice kung me mangyayari though.
@Introvert: Someone emailed me also to fill some forms up, so I did and minutes later, I was scheduled for an interview. Maybe you should resend your forms, with the complete email replies etc.

ganun din sakin..i filled out a form with some essay questions on how you would handle certain situations supported with your past experiences..i took my time answering them..kung yun din ang itatanung sa interview, di ba redundant na?
p.s. gaanu khalaga *** grades sa application?
hirap nga daw talaga mkapasok sa hp. =(

Grades play a big part. Usually, top 10 students of a course lang ang nakakalusot.

not always. I know a lot of people there na di naman topnotch students (pero di rin naman delingkwente) who got hired. Leadership in extra curriculars might count, but nandun pa rin yung luck factor para makapasok. Sa dami ba naman ng applicants...
I guess if you really want to get hired, try lang nang try, apply lang nang apply hanggang sa mapansin. They allow re-application naman

I'm a little familiar with the kind of work that they do. It's IT support so it's not that technical compared to software engineers/developers. How do you describe their work ba?
rychu
May 31, 2005, 07:35 AM
Usually, depende sa department. Some departments really need software developers. Some department merong call center-ish work. I guess kung saan ka mapunta, dun ka.
I applied during our job fair in school. January yun. Then they called me last March for my interviews -- naka-3 ako. Then, wala na. Saaaaad!

Well, sa amin kasi ganun nangyari e. Maybe pag fresh grad lang siguro.
Actually, sabi ng friend, hindi nga raw. Pero actions speak louder than words. Kahit siya aminado na baka nga raw may pagka-grade conscious ang HP. Of course, nothing official.

thanks guys for keepin the thread alive..
i have another set of questions:
what was the first interview about? the second? and so on...how do they differ from one another?
are there any exams? you guys haven't mentioned any exams..so they must have based their assessment on one's resume, grades, filled out form, and most importantly on the interviews..am i right guys?
rychu
May 31, 2005, 07:32 PM
You got that right. No exams whatsoever. The entire basis are the interviews actually.
Technically, the interview revolves around the essays you answered and some more situational questions (where did you exemplify leadership...) The 2nd and 3rd are like that. I don't know after that since hanggang dun lang ako.
Good luck na lang! :)

Based sa mga friends kong nakapasok dito. Yung mga may leadership experience ang natatangap. Lalo pag student council officer, or head ng organization. Since dapat ganito ka para may maisagot ka sa mga essays nila.
May nagsabi sakin continous hiring daw sila. Some positions require night shift so beware.

Got an offer after only 2 interviews to join their ITO (never did know what that meant) team... it's a 9 pm - 6 am job that supports P&G SAP (I think) Systems in North America. Ok naman offer, between 28K - 30K (exactly in between). Turned it down though, but I don't want to go into that...
Anyway, interviews at HP are behavior-based, which means they will probe for previous experiences to know how you have behaved. This is based on a principle that people hardly change. So, knowing how you've acted before would tell them how you will act in the future.

Hi guys, got in sa HP! Ang saya! So, like I mentioned, 3 initial interviews to finally dip in the hiring pool. April pa iyon. Then, by 2nd week of June, tinawagan ako for a final interview. Two weeks after, offer! Bam! Overwhelmed!
I just had to finish my time sa previous company ko kasi I was bound by contract and all that jazz. Last day ko yesterday and start ko na sa Monday.
Training in SAP/ABAP kaya excited ako! Salary is average for HP. Between 20K-29K. Pero, taxation in HP is different, mas malaki siya talaga.

Pursue it, pero look closely pa rin sa other offer. Work is difficult accdg to some of my friends working there, pero I know the benefits and compensation, as well as the travel opps will be worth it. :)
I was interviewed there twice as I mentioned in my earlier post in this thread, that was January 2005. Have not heard from them until January 2006, asking me to resend my credentials (and be scheduled for another round of interview aain, perhaps)! It seemed to me that I have to start all over again. I haven't pursued it since I just got a new job two weeks before they contacted me. Oh well. :bop:

Sep 22, 2006, 07:15 PM
it took me around two months to go through the entire recruitment process. but then again, hp looks at resume's from a manager's standpoint so there might be times when your resume is just sitting in the pool. i think processing time's a lot different for people who know what roles they want to do and get in HP and if they passed their resume to the right people or not. because from what i know, they really fit their employees to the available positions, so this might pose as a challenge for fresh grads.

Btw, how's the work here for software developers? Laging on-call din ba? Kasi I have a friend who works there as data analyst, (not sure exactly what she does) but she's always on-call, HP provided her with laptop, mobile phone and other stuff so she can be reached anytime, anywhere, does this also happen to developers? Many thanks.

-> No bond. There will a commitment period be should you decide to go on training. Time period for which may be lessened if you do in-house trainings.
Work for developers, just like work for the others, is relatively challenging. Everybody gets/is assigned a laptop, personal phone, etc. The mobile phone is to be decided if your work entails being on-call.
Yup, there are lots of offers from other companies. Some people just effin love it here.

Yep. HP is expanding. A lot of work is coming in, and not just for the P&G account but for other accounts as well. If you know someone in HP, have them refer you (you still need to submit your profile at jobs.hp.com), since that would make the process a little bit faster.

hi! its nice to work with HP, my hubby works for HP as an ITO Specialist I... and matindi rin daw ang attrition rate. In fact, isa sa pnakamatagal sa HP eh umalis na yesterday for US.
1st day nya, he was sent for HK for a 2 weeks on site support and the rest was history. Nakapunta na sya ng HK, Thailand, Taiwan and eto nga papunta na sya ng Singapore...and still counting countries
marami syang benefits talaga...
1.travel....
2.14k plus/ year na reimbursement for clothing... medicine and rice subsidy.
3. HMO card for the whole family
4. AMEX credit card with unlimited credit line for travel... personal and work use
5. semi annual bonus, company variable
6. laptop for work and personal use (bawal limewire or other programs not approve, kundi tanggal ka)
7. DSL reimbursement monthly up to 3k
8. work from home up to 2 days
My husband graduated from DLSU and only 25 yrs old now, not a Dean's lister but he has good attitude for the job and well experienced in the field and ok naman grades nya.....
He is good at SAP, which he owes from working with NESTLE PHILS. and FAST SERVICES CORP. Now he is good at ABAP, RTCIS and counting... which he is gaining from trainings at HP. On site support sya and im proud talaga. all of you trying to get in to HP, don't be hopeless kasi my husband once flunked. 2nd try nya, tyka sya nkapasok sa HP kaya naman lahat parang worth it.
and totoo talaga.... HP is very particular with school. Sabi ni hubby puro ADMU, DLSU, UA&P and konti lang mga from UP, FEU and others. and pagfreshgrad ka as in walang experience, excellent grades and school credentials would be in lieu of experience.
Apply lang kayo, if you want, you can send your resume sa email ko so husband can circulate your resume to all HP Managers. Mga Manager din kasi mag interview sa inyo and magche- check if you qualify

^ Actually, contrary to popular belief, there are lots of UP graduates. UA&P? Not really.
DSL up to 3K plus phone line at 800++.
There are more benefits than what's written above. Not sure if I can mention them.
To all those in the process of application, especially the new grads, my best piece of advice -- just answer in all truthfulness.

Jan 12, 2007, 12:11 AM
i don't think its 3k DSL and 800++ for the phone line.. it's 3k for both dsl and phoneline :)
and another note.. you shouldn't use the corporate card for personal use :)
and yes, mas madami taga UP sa HP.. then ADMU DLSU and others (UA&P, UST, etc.) :)

akira jc: wow, we have the same position (ITO Support Specialist 1) as your husband but Boss Mark did not mention that I have a benefit for travel. hehe..
yeah, I know lots of UP people from hp.. actually, I heard about the great compensations of hp from a friend in UP because most of his UP batchmates were there. After a month of waiting, I was luckily given an offer.. I will be starting by jan. 16..
By the way, do benefits differ from different people from hp eventhough we have the same positions, of course salaries differ but how about the benefits?

^may mga kabatch akong galing Meralco Foundation, Lyceum, and yung mga schools sa provinces so I don't think very particular sila sa mga schools. Well, at least, that's what I would like to think.
and yes, mataas ang attrition, shemps, IT industry ito. Yung iba di naman sa abroad lumilipat. Sa mga katabing kumpanya lang.
In my personal opinion, they will hire you if they like "the cut of your jib" ika nga. For those entry level positions, they accept even non-IT grads (may kilala akong Civil Engg ang tinapos).
Sa mga gustong makapasok, try lang ng try. Pag di nahire on your first attempt, search ulit sa web at mag-apply ulit hanggang sa mag-sawa ka sa pagpapainterview.

Hi guys. I once worked for HP. Yep marami silang benefits. The only advantage I can see with working with HP is tataas market value mo and you would be able to get much better jobs in other companies once magresign ka dyan. I have to admit medyo mahirap work sa hp lalo na pag na-assign ka sa night shift. Contrary to popular belief, NAPAKARAMI ng mga taga-UP sa HP. In fact me lab yung HP na pinatayo dun sa UP. Mas preferred yata ng HP yung mga UP students . Pero don't lose hope, kasi marami rin naman ang mga non-UP students dun like me noon. Hehehe...

hi! its nice to work with HP, my hubby works for HP as an ITO Specialist I... and matindi rin daw ang attrition rate.
Mga Manager din kasi mag interview sa inyo and magche- check if you qualify
my e-mail is dlsuchix@yahoo.com

hi guys..... thank you for such an incredible understanding you have shown here.... anyway, may nag- pm kasi sakin and sya lang yung katangi tangi na nag- react sa mga sinabi ko here.... he told me that
" we don't earn by referring friends here at HP, so dont use this medium to refer friends". or something like that ang sinabi nya.... HELLo!!! my sinabi ba ko dito na may cash incentive sila by referring applicant?! ang sabi ko lang kasama sa PPR review nila yun sa TEAM nila hubby ko... malay ko ba sa Team nila di ba! and besides wala naman masama tumulong dito and mag- refer ng friends.... as if naman kilala mo yung mga tao dito di ba? you dont know who are cum laude's or mga pro na on their respective profession dito...
natanggap lang sa HP ibang tao eh na-corrupt na mind nila. di ko alam ganyan pala mag isip ibang taga HP daig pa mga managers kung magsalita... buti di na-corrupt yung hubby ko and thank you dahil sa magandang team sya npunta na puro mga humble and SUPER FRIENDLY kahit mga excellelent credentials holder
I reviewed the contract pala of husband to see if I violated anything by disclosing the benefits. AND I DID NOT VIOLATE ANYTHING!!
... it is clearly stated sa contract nya na bawal i-disclose mga manuals, company' prospective sales, tools, log- ins and anything detrimental to company yung bawal.... at kelan pa naging detrimental ang mga compensation and benefits? detrimental pa nga yun sa ibang company na direct competitor ni HP kasi it only means na matindi ang magiging attrition nila due to employess who will be pursuing careers with HP... yun lang..
sa totoo lang di ako nakatulog sa bwisit...:grrr:

Early last year, after having graduated, I was following up with my contact person when I have to. I ask, "When can I follow up again?" I ask the time and I call. If there's no feedback yet, I ask again, "When is the best time to follow up?" Just follow up by all means. Try to be nice by asking politely, saying thank you. Stuff like that.

About that, you can't follow up when you don't have a contact person from HP. I'm saying, after the interview/s be more ardent about following up. Of course you can't follow up if you still haven't been interviewed yet, right?
Regarding the mobile phone - it's true. I, for one, have the benefit (or not! :rotflmao: )of a mobile phone.

mas mabilis kung may referral ka.
para din mg follow up for you.
merong binibigay na application form
(i think nada-download s website)
prang essay type questionnaires.
mas ok kung ipasa mo na yun along with your resume'.
halos gnun din ang mga tanong s interview.
java, sql at sap ang applications.

This thread is very interesting, especially since I am working for HP. Although there are some things that need to be clarified somehow.
With regards to the taxation being implemented, there seems to be a misconception that HP deducts higher taxes as compared to other companies. Just so everyone knows, our taxes are being computed in just the same way as any other Filipino employee. Others might think it is "higher" simply because higher pay means higher tax bracket. ;)
As for the benefits, all the other HP employees who have posted here are absolutely right with what they said. There are basic benefits, but there are also some perks that are dependent on the type of work that you do, take the mobile phone service for example. There are some that are provided with company mobile phones because their type of work calls for it. As for the opportunities to travel, I myself have been sent overseas several times for projects and trainings. Some may not have been given the chance to travel because the role that he is in may not require for him to do so. Simply put, these perks or benefits come on a case to case basis.
Regarding HP being very picky with applicants, I guess this would depend on the role that needs to be filled: bigger role means higher expectations. As for your credentials, it's not about where you graduated from, your GPA nor is it about the course you took, it's all about you as an individual and your attitude.
So all the best to all aspiring HP applicants! Hope to see you on the next coffee talk :)

I don't think so. I know HP is one of the companies in the Philippines who compensates their employees VERY well. Salaries, as well as benefits are very competitive kaya nga kinalimutan ko na pagiging ECE ko eh, hehe. I think it depends on your credentials and work experience (I have a batchmate who has a pretty much higher salary because he is SAP certified. My other batchmate has an MBA degree in US). They are more on 'hiring-the-best-people' policy. As a matter of fact, they offered me a very high salary for an entry-level. :)

Ok, I was just reacting to the post above that says 60-70k is already high. That compensation is just slightly above standard for 4-5 yrs work experience.

The thing with HP is that you don't need 4-5 years work experience to get to a higher level.

When I "Salary Categories" I mean paybands. Even if you start as an ITO Specialist I, II, or III, you start off with a certain payband. 1 being the lowest (lowest band in the base pay range) and 5 being the highest.

Offer wise it was pretty ok. I had 2 years overseas working experience plus I've worked with P&G IT before for a couple of years (before they got transitioned to HP), so I guess the salary offer was more or less commensurate to my work background and current skill set.
The salary level would really be based on the role you are getting/being assigned to and what payband level they will assign you to.
Good luck!

HP is a very good company but think twice or more if you are given an offer by ITO. Its shifting work and to be honest, the quality of new hires has declined in recent months. Other HP units are not shifting schedule and get more opportunities, so if you love your Saturdays and Sundays, Christmas and other Holidays ITO is not for you. (Also there is no Holiday Pay, they just swap your Holiday to for another day which I think is really not right)
But compared to other companies in the same line of business, this is the Best Company for me! Some units just have better opportunities than others.

HI Mitsui,
ITO is quite confusing specially for new hires. Lahat ng inooferan ng HP is ITO Support Specialist. Baka matakot naman sila pag naoferan ng ITO, eh lahat naman ITO Support SPecialist position. Iba't iba lang ng group (bundle). For me, pinakamahirap yung Development Team, lalo na pag me malaking projects. Kahit sat and sun me work, unlike Service Management, mas madali, lahat pa ng kita, kuha mo.. hehe (like premium shifts and stand by pay):)

If you're someone who likes challenging work (yung mapapa-isip ka), be careful with HP, especially the fresh graduates. Try to know as much as possible about your work. Managers may provide vague descriptions which may sound appealing such as leading your row in projects, providing 24/7 technical support, etc. However, there are some jobs in HP wherein you would only be doing tasks such as uploading files and sending data, which are relatively easy tasks. Also, some roles in HP would require you to do almost the exact same thing each day, which some people may find boring.
Also clarify if your role would require you to take trainings which would have bonds. HP would not specify that they would bond you when presented with the job offer. You would only be informed once you're already in HP and they present you with your training plan. Bonds may range from 6 months to 2.5 years.
Again, I'm just saying try to know as much as possible about the job you're going to be doing. This is something you'll be doing every hour, day, week, month, and year. You'll just be depressed if you're not enjoying what you're doing. Peace!

It depends on your job in HP. Hindi naman lahat pareparehas ng ginagawa eh.. That is why HP hires only the best people. They offer big to people who HAD DONE big. :bashful: Hirap nga lang magshine because lahat magaling. People are dynamic, multi-talented and young. On my part, I don't have a bond because internal yung training ko. Kahit kelan pwede ako umalis, but I think I will not. And the best part is, you are challenged to strive by yourself. Sobra nga lang expectations nila for you. Imagine, on my part, as a new grad and im an ECE, not IT, they are expecting me to be on-boarded in just 1 month. As in you should learn everything in a month. It's difficult but I take it as a challenge. For me, it is just a matter of perspective. If you want the challenge to shine against the top individuals in the country, go on with HP and prove yourself! If you are weak, then HP is not for you.*peace*

Talaga? Oh well, HP can't please everybody. Good luck to your jobhunting. Hope you get to find one that entails doing something different every day. :D
@manong_bert
I like to think that there are no small roles in HP.
As for bonds, that will be mentioned on your job offer. This part determines what bundle you'll be joining, and the trainings required for you to perform your job well. And hey, good thing I don't have bonds. This is optional should I want to get trained/certified externally, say Cognos or J2EE. The training I need for my work is also internal.
To be given the opportunity to work only with the best is one of the pros of working here. To those who are applying, good luck. *okay*

Feb 25, 2007, 05:52 AM
Unfortunately, the people in my bundle were not informed by our manager of the trainings that they were going to take. A lot were taken by surprise when they were told they would need to take trainings which would range from 6 months to 2.5 years.
"I like to think that there are no small roles in HP." - This is also what I originally thought. However, in our bundle, there are people who most of the time just upload files. Although we could see the importance of the work we do, I don't want to do something which could be done by anybody. Even a high school grad could do these types of work.
The quality of work is really dependent on the role and bundle. This is why I'm telling everybody considering working in HP to be careful, to avoid scenarios similar to the people in our bundle.

Ok naman yung work environment. Hindi naman mahigpit yung mga managers, sila yung tipong pakikisamahan ka. Yung pantry masyadong maliit for some floors. Sa amin, mga 70 employees sa floor namin pero 10 lang kasya sa pantry. Also, HP has a big problem with regards to work space. Talagang magsisiksikan kayo lalo na kung tumapat sa day na walang nag-wwork from home. Hehe

I don't think anyone can really say that this bundle has much easier work than the other, because you can never really tell unless you've actually experienced working within all of the bundles.
Development work may be hard in a sense that you have to start from scratch. The pressure in development work is periodic, it peaks during SIT, BAT, and cutover. But after that, everything would go on as normal. Some people dig this kind of pressure as compared to the daily thing that is being experienced by folks from Service Management. But there may also be others who wouldn't feel comfortable in development work, and might prefer to take things one day at a time.
In Service Management, you deal with day-to-day business problems, which some people may not be able to handle because that is not the type of pressure that they want to be exposed to. Well, who would want to go crazy over business problems on a daily basis, right? :D But for others, this type of setup works because they feel that they learn the end-to-end business processes. You get to see the overall picture, unlike in development work wherein you are mostly focused on one specific module. Some people may have a misconception that being with Service Management is easy, but it's not. There are people I know from development who wouldn't want to be in Service Management because they know people from that group and they see how hard it is to face clients on a daily basis, taking in the pressure day-to-day.
Unfortunately, the people in my bundle were not informed by our manager of the trainings that they were going to take. A lot were taken by surprise when they were told they would need to take trainings which would range from 6 months to 2.5 years.

It saddens me to hear that this happens in HP. I think this is where open communication comes in. Lucky for me, I get to discuss my concerns openly with my manager.
As for the "small roles" thing, I have heard of such things, like someone having to monitor something for his/her entire shift. If something goes wrong, fix it. If there aren't any problems, then well and good 'cause you need not do anything. Which can be a bit boring, as manong_bert would describe having to upload files everyday. I guess you just have to ask around if there are any better opportunities for you where you get to learn more and be more productive at the same time. Like joining our group, perhaps? ;) But of course, if you're just new to your job, then you'd have to wait a little while before you can get to transfer. By the time that your manager allows you to, then ask around so you get a clear picture of what is being done in each bundle to help you make the best choice on which line of work fits you best. :)

Can anyone help me please? I was just given an offer awhile ago and I'm still deciding whether to accept it. I got a position in a "new team", mainly handling database administration, for North American accounts (Canada, P&G, and the rest of US). ITO Specialist I only. 12/7 support. Training is for Oracle and SQL Server for a month. This is what I was told.
My concern is about the salary. It's an insignificant raise from my current one. And I have no idea about HP's salary range for the position they offered me. Does anyone have any idea what the range is? And do you know if it's ok to negotiate?
I was also given an entry-level position, as I understand. How many years of experience do you need to get the 2nd level? I only have a couple of years experience. But I am really technical.
And I really am concerned about those people who are only uploading files. They weren't told that that will be the exact job they'll be doing. How do I know if I'll end up uploading too?
And is it true that everyone in HP is assigned a laptop? Also, what about promotions? If, for example, a person is really a performer, will that person have the chance to be promoted in less than a year?
I'd really appreciate any kind of help. I know I have endless questions but I want to make sure I'll be making the right decision. Thanks in advance!

Hi gwaping17, unfortunately in some bundles they require employees to work in the office for Saturdays and Sundays. Consecutive weekends pa and they have no say on the schedule. Wala pang aircon pag weekend.
I know that there is no perfect company pero pag nandoon kana, wala ka namang magagawa. In fairness, the manager may not have a full picture of what is happening because the Team Lead (TL) filters out some stuff.
Yung tipong the TL can go on call lang pag weekend (pero hindi rin naman matawagan) and then the ordinary specialist get to works their butts off.
Sana lang magkaroon ng lakas ng loob mga new hires to speak up about this because its unfair.*peace* Sana rin malaman ng manager ang ginagawa ng TL nya.
Overall HP is still the best! This makes some wonder for how long can HP remain or be one of the best place to work for.

Hi grayscale06, were you told that you will be handling multiple accounts? Were you told that you will have a bond? It seems you have a lot of questions.
My advice lang is make sure you know what you are getting into. You can do this by asking the questions you are asking in this forum to her (the manager who gave you the offer) :) . There is no perfect company and as you can see from the forum, opportunities and policies vary between bundles. BTW, yes everyone gets a laptop (nc series) and other stuff. Think what is important to you and from there make your decision.
Good luck and let us know what happens. :)

Hello,
I'm no manager but I really think that the laptop and DSL allows you to choose where you want to work. I have never known any group who goes to the office on a weekend.
I really think you're referring to contract/contingent workers (i.e. Manpower Services, something like that) in HP. You from HP? Would you know which group/bundle/team does the weekend at the office? We'd love to know.

I also know of someone who accepted the same offer, and starts March 16, 2007. Yes, you'll be assigned a laptop. My suggestion is be upfront with your manager, but in all subtlety, like, "Will I only be uploading files here?"
If a person really is a performer, or a KEY performer for that matter, why not? It has been reiterated a lot of times, the number of years of experience is beside the point, it's how well you perform.

This is one of the things that pisses me off in HP. How do you prove yourself when all you do is upload files and send data, and everybody else could do this? In our bundle, there is no opportunities to excel.
In HP, there are three types of promotions:
1. From ITO Specialist I to III
2. becoming a team lead or manager
3. being transfered to a new role
The first one is based in your salary, so an ITO Specialist III may still be doing the same thing as an ITO Specialist I. The second one is based on seniority. If there is a new team, or your team lead moves out, most likely promotions to these openings will be based on seniority. The third one is based on your tenure with your team. Our bundle requires 2 years residency before being given the chance to move. In other bundles, I see people moving to new roles after a year.
In our bundle, HP does not recognize key performers because there are no opportunities to be key performers. If there are key performers, saan mo sila ilalagay if the team lead slots are already complete?

Hi,
It seems you are so pissed off in your bundle. May I know what bundle do you belong? I am just curious in that bundle. :)
I think at HP, you can resign and re apply again if you really want to be in a different bundle. HP thinks of your career, you can always tell it to your manager. Besides, managers at hp are all human. I mean, they are friendly, approachable and understanding.

"TALK TO YOUR MANAGER. I think that's the best way to deal with it. Talk to him/her about your concerns."
I already informed my manager as early as July last year about how unhappy I was with my work, and that this was not the work I was told I was going to be doing. Although I may be transferred to another role, I have made up my mind that HP is not a good place to work in (based on MY experience).

anyway, I agree with some of your observations. But I joined there after working witth another company so all those promises about career growth are not new to me. Which means I don't really expect a lot from my managers.
Remember, promotion depends on skill set AND BUSINESS NEED (hindi lang nila aaminin agad yan)

@toppi, if I were to get the call, I wouldn't mind. I would prefer persistent people who want to join HP because it tells something about his/her passion in working in HP. I mean, if it is already a week and they said they'll get back to you in a week, I think you have the license to make kulit regarding your application.
@grayscale, You can always negotiate your pay. I think it applies in all companies. Tell them that you were expecting more and ask if they can increase it. No harm in asking.

just want to ask sa mga tao dito...
i was interviewed already last year by ms. bernie deveza of the hr. it was a good interview session kasi ms. deveza really listens sa mga sinasabi mo. during that time, she asked me kung ano ba daw position na gusto ko sa hp... being a comsci grad, sabi ko na i am alright with programming but i also would like to do *** client interfacing kasi i get to exercise and practice my communication skills and dealing with clients. sabi niya na they will give me a call after a week kasi she will find a suitable department for ata within hp. ayaw nya kasi na sa parang call center ata ako ilagay kasi sayang raw *** programming experience ko that comes with my degree...
then came 1 week pero hindi dila tumawag. kaya i thought na i did not inch in the interveiw kaya i accepted the offer of another company. after another week, i received na an email from ms. david of the business intelligence group ata ng hp asking me to fill up an employment form. pero during that time i already signed a contract with another company kaya i did not pass the form. then tinawagan ako ulit ni ms. deveza asking me if i passed the form already. sabi ko naman na i signed a contract na with another company. sabi ko na lang na after the contract, i will probably continue my hp application. sabi naman nya na they will keep my file active..
true, ang bait ng hr ng hp.. i dont know with the managers though...
question lang, is the business intelligence team or unit of hp more on the developmental work or support lang like uploading files and monitoring kagaya nung nabanggit sa nakaraang post dito... ano *** salary range ng mga tao na nahire within this unit?
thanks

This is one of the things that pisses me off in HP. How do you prove yourself when all you do is upload files and send data, and everybody else could do this? In our bundle, there is no opportunities to excel.
There is always an opportunity to excel if you look hard enough. If your job is tedious and boring, look for ways to automate it or set up a monitoring system to alert you if something goes wrong. If your English is good, write a CBA/guide for some of the things your team does to make training new hires easier. Study, think outside the box, innovate, go the extra mile yada yada. It's been said that the best worker is one who works himself out of a job. For example, if your job is uploading files all day long you can write a program to do that for you and if your job is solving server issues you can proactively create a way to prevent those issues from occurring in the first place. For sure your manager will notice your efforts and you'll land a promotion.
What I love about HP is that nobody takes credit for another person's work. If anything, managers go overboard with praising you when you do something right and just give you suggestions to improve your performance when you do something wrong. I have heard horror stories from acquaintances in other companies about them slaving all night long on a project only to hear their boss take complete credit for it, and that's never happened to me or any of my HP colleagues.
The first one is based in your salary, so an ITO Specialist III may still be doing the same thing as an ITO Specialist I.
No company would hire two people, assign them the exact same tasks, and pay one twice as much as the other. Except kung (COO) child-of-owner yung isang employee :D

be INVENTive
think out of the box
have more initiative (better yet, take/own more "initiatives")
look for opportunities to excel
perform beyond expectations
be mindful of RESULTS!
learn more, train yourself more
...and be sure you'll be able to share what you've learned to others (to your team/other people concerned)

I have tried to be inventive. I have created several tools to make some processes more efficient. I have created a tool that would shorten data reconcilliation from 1 week to 5 minutes. I didn't even get an e-award for this!
You have to be in this bundle to experience this. Kahit mga kaibigan ko sa ibang bundle nagugulat din kung bakit ganito dito.

Hi tina11, can you share what bundle your are reffering to? Those who have very good experiences, can you also share? Para naman malaman ng mga hindi masyadong sinuerte sa bundle saan ok. It can probably be understood kung bakit hindi masabi kung anong bundle ang hindi ok dahil we respect kahit paano yung organization, but can someone at least tell saang bundle ok? I know HP is looking for good people and this would be a good way to promote the bundle.
BTW, yung last comment about required weekend work as RSC.

Hi to the PEXers here (HP emps and non-emps)!
I would like to share the same fate as some of those I was able to read here. I did wait ("Patience is a virtue") and got a job offer after exactly 1 month from my last interview with HP. Unfortunately, the offer is a bit low from what I expected but the other benefits and allowances are really good. I asked for a week to decide and I will read the other posts for some inputs first before I make my final decision. I really love HP and would like to work there but there are circumstances I need to consider. God Bless all.

Sa mga taga HP, pwede po ba malaman paano ang tamang way to ask for a bundle transfer?

I am just sharing my experience and telling people to be careful when they apply in HP because I have seen to many unhappy people (even with other teams in both offices) with the same reasons.
If you want to take a challenge, make sure that the job you're going to take is really challenging. Make sure that they challenge you with the quality of work instead of quantity. Malas mo na lang kung nagsinungaling yung manager just like in my case.
If you want trainings, make sure that you receive relevant trainings. Yung trainings ko is basically itatabi lang ako sa ibang tao para mag-memorize ng process.
There are a good jobs in HP, but may chance na malasin ka at makuha mong work ay di mo gusto. To minimize relying on luck in getting a job that you want or not, try to know the type of job that you would actually be doing.

it's also good to be really inquisitive especially during the interview process. ask about the nature of the work they do and what is expected of you. so that you actually have an idea on what you are going to do once you start work. no harm in asking questions! =)
