When i was little, I stepped on a broken glass and it required some stitches. Now, about 20 years later... I still feel weird everytime I touch that part of my foot that had been cut. It's like I get this tingly feeling all over that section and sometimes I can't even touch or scratch around there becuase it's very uncomfortable. Any suggestions as to how I should approach this? What's my next step?

Where exactly were you cut? What do you mean, tingly? Is it electricity-like shooting pains? What do you mean, uncomfortable?

Kamz: hehe I don't think that there was glass lodged into it.... =P

Ira: It's on my big toe. Like when I touch it, it feels different, as if I can't continue touching it coz it's a lil painful... It's kinda hard to explain really.. but it's not normal..

Oftentimes trauma (in your case, a laceration) causes superficial nerves to be cut. When they heal, the nerves become hypersensitive. As long as it's bearable, I suggest not taking any medication.

Ira: thanks.. so, I shouldn't even bother going to a doctor and asking him to check it out????

I don't think there's any need to, unless it's really painful and it bothers you. You usually get this kind of pain after undergoing surgery, too--the cutaneous nerves which regrow becomes hypersensitive. Cold weather sometimes triggers the pain, too. We just give painkillers like Tegretol for nerve pains (although I think you won't be able to buy that without a prescription), but otherwise, it's harmless.
