I go jogging a lot and my lola told me that if you go jogging or cycling a lot, "bababa yung matress" mo...which means na mababaog ka..Is there some truth in this???

And is it also true that gymnasts and ballerinas get "devirginized" just by doing the split???
huh? maybe there was something on the floor? [don't be horrible, ann!] ...
but really, bunny, if my memory serves me right [it's that long ago?], hymens may offer resistance but they r far from brittle so it requires insistent [though ideally not too forceful] thrusts to break them ... of course, i may be wrong ...
btw, long ago refers to the last time i read up on hymens & stuff ;) ... i'm not denying anything though ...
er...this is the first time I have encountered that kind of belief. Based on the uterine anatomy though, I will assume that it will be next to impossible to make your uterus drop to the ground by just jogging alone. There are a LOT of supporting structures and ligaments that hold it in place kasi. And, by some freak chance that it does go down a little (which is UNLIKELY), it doesn't necessarily cause infertility problems. Of course, why jog, though? Jogging CAN cause lumbar disc herniations, but that's another story altogether.
Uterine relaxations are usually caused by multiple chilbirth, vaginal lacerations, prolonged heavy lifting, and chronic cough. I don't see running as a factor anywhere in my gynecology textbooks.
As for ballerinas and gymnasts and their devirginized states: Yes, their activities may cause their hymen to tear, but so long as a guy's penis (or whatever part of the male anatomy is used) doesn't enter the vaginal canal, I would still consider them virgins.

why go jogging? it's fun, it's cheap, and it's good for you. besides, ira, i can't swim :). (not completely true. if i stop moving, i sink, and i hate that!)
anyway, back to the questions at hand: not true and not true. loss of virginity requires sexual intercourse; unfortunately, there're lots of filipinas who INSIST on their virginity in the midst of childbirth, whereupon the immortal pgh ob line was coined: at sino ka, si virgin mary??!! (best said with one raised eyebrow)
Ay, I know that classic Virgin Mary line ... having delivered that line several times myself complete with raised eyebrows and taray voice. Hawak-hawak mo na yung baby na umiiyak, virgin pa rin daw sila. Haaay.
As for jogging...it causes stress on the lumbar discs, and it's associated with eventual lumbar problems, kaya I suggest walkathons na lang. Anyway, grumps, I'm sure you know how to dogpaddle and cling to the pool sides. :D
Irabeybi,
How does chronic cough cause uterine relaxation?

ada: the increased pressure you generate inside your body as you cough tends to stretch a lot of your, er, internal components (the ones that have no user serviceable parts). that includes them things that hold your uterus in place. have you considered adding an h or two in an appropriate place in your handle? adah, or ahdah, perhaps? <;g>; just wondering.
adakyuti: Ditto what grumpy said. Pero...adah? ahdah? How horrible. :D

beybikyuti, hala sige mag-buhatan ng bangko! :D
Grumpy: Nyak! Why in the world would I want to massacre my own name?! Adding an "h" is so jologs, you know? <;g>; Besides, it doesn't sound so good. It's like you're having trouble breathing or your nose is clogged.
Hello Iraseksi! :D

There is such a thing doctors tactfully call "flower arrangement", where you can have the hymen sewed back or have the vaginal canal tightened to its virginlike state. Yes, there are women who avail of this. Ask your neighborhood OB-Gyne about it. :D
