MsEerie,

that's it, you sould cut on your food intake. pero when it comes to overpowering appetite medyo mahirap 'yun, pero your will should prevail. no pain, no gain.

You have to decrease your daily caloric intake and exercise; there's really no easy way. The best type of diet would be acquiring a habit which you can live with for the rest of your life. Unfortunately, a lot of people think that they can go back to their old food habits once they've reached their goal. You can't, that's why there's a need to establish a proper eating habit--it will have to last you your whole life.

Remember, 1 pound is 3,500 calories. So even if you cheat on your diet a little, don't exceed that limit. Corollarily, you also have to burn 3,500 calories per pound you want to lose. Throw out your hi-cal snacks--airpopped corn in lieu of Chippy or Lay's would be good. If your mom serves fattening foods during mealtimes, see if you can get yourself excused from eating with them in the meantime, or just stick to the veggies, fruits, and fish. Stay away from fried and fatty foods. Check the calories in packagings. And of course, exercise. :) That's the best way to make those pounds disappear faster.

About the "takaw takaw" bit--when I was dieting the foremost thing in my mind when I get tempted was "Naku, kung kumain ako nito di bagay sa akin ang backless", or something to that effect. Since I'm a bit of a clotheshorse, it worked for me, and I get less tempted. See if you can gift yourself with a nonfood substitute (doesn't have to be anything expensive!) everytime you lose a couple of pounds.

The best way to lose weight would still be to take less calories than what you're taking in now, and exercising. The only time your growth would be stunted is if you starve yourself to death (as in, not eating at all). Otherwise, a sensible diet won't stop you from growing taller.

As for adding vertical inches...I'm afraid it's hereditary, so there's not much you can do about it. :)

So we're back with the fit dead thing. Eerie, take it from someone who's lost close to 100 lbs. : You need to diet AND exercise. Don't take the easy way out.

I don't believe in that after 6 diet. The only trick is to eat sensibly.

I agree with Ira.. exercise and eat sensibly
if possible no snacks in between, if you are craving for something, snack on fruits instead or veggies..like carrots

Hi, everyone,

I really need good and expert advice here. I will be getting married exactly next month, and in line with this, I hope to lose weight, perhaps 10 to 15 pounds.

I easily gain weight, but I can also easily lose it. I just don't have that much motivation lately because I was too tied up with work and other things. I know it's going to be a drastic one for me, but I'm desperate. I am optimistic that I will be able to maintain it once the wedding is all over.

Can someone suggest to me a regular workout routine and a diet that's good for a month?

theres no instant shed. its a matter of discipline,self-control and focus on your goal. this is for both working out and eating habits.

im not thin or what, i have weight problems as well. pero ganon talaga, mahaba habang tiyaga lang talaga.

blakedaddy, i know you're the expert here, can you check on my diet? i formulated this on my own and it seems to be working. the problem is, i think it's working too much, i lost 20 pounds in one week (believe it or not). is this bad?

breakfast: usually coffee only on weekdays, on weekends, i have veggie omelette (with 2 eggs)
lunch: either tuna, veggies, or fish and 1/4 cup rice on weekdays, on weekends i have pasta (sunday) and a filet o fish sandwich (saturday on the way to school)
dinner: same as lunch, either fish or veggies and 1/4 cup rice
snacks: either natural popcorn (yung walang butter), nuts, or yakisoba (taken at night before i sleep, di kasi ako makatulog ng kalam ang sikmura). i also have yakult everyday (around 3pm)

ang meat intake ko is practically none, except pag may mga birthdays or whatnots. i don't feel weak naman, although i would have nausea every now and then

please advise.

I don't really use the scale as a measurement of progress. I would rather use the inches lost.

how many inches have you lost.

just make sure you are not starving yourself. If you said its working, then just keep it up.

hi,

i'm not sure (i'll double check tonight) pero i think i lost about 3 inches off my waist for the first week. tapos steadily mga 1 inch for every week (i'm on my 3rd week so mga4 inches na siguro nalose ko). i'll confirm tonight and post tomorrow

on another note, i wish i have time to join your gym though. medyo accessible kasi sya sa kin since taga pasig ako, how much po ba fees nyo?

That sounds like good progress. Keep up the good work. Now, perhaps a few finishing touches and your friends won't recognize you *okay*
