If the doctor is intelligent, compassionate and well trained, why not?

on a professional level, oo. pero outside that, never na. i have a lot of doctors for friends, and a couple naman na ex. sila yun mga pinaka as in pinakasinungaling sa lahat. no offense, this is just based on my experience. magagaling sila magpabilog...

No, you don't. We doctors are not forcing you to believe us naman eh. :) It's a service offered, and if you choose not to avail of it in lieu of maybe Eastern or alternative medicine people, that's your choice.

Aha! Mylene, marami ka palang naging ex na doktor. Ilan ba yung natukso mo ng "props"? ..biro lang po.

To answer the question, I think one should trust their doctor's advice but don't follow blindly anybody's advice. Kaya tayo binigyan ng utak eh di gamitin naman natin.
Di ba?

Or even third opinion.

Ross, sa architecture meron din bang second opinion? Just curious since you have all those measuring tools that are supposed to be mathematically exact.

I agree with Ross... always ask for second opinion. If you have medical background, and you know your physician is out of whack... then ask quetions and he/she can't answer you.. then ......
That's what I do...... always ask questions when in doubt... :)

Just a clarification: Doctors, no matter how good, do not know everything, even when they have been practicing for decades. That doesn't mean they are not good. The need for specialization in fields is one of the reasons for this. While I'm better with answering questions related to the brain and spinal cord, I don't know as much with other fields, so I have to look it up in the textbooks. If your doctor doesn't know the answer but is willing to look it up, then that's a good sign.
