ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- Six months after it blasted off from Earth, the Deep Impact spacecraft early Monday met its cosmic fate -- in a hyper-speed smashup with a comet.

NASA scientists steered a probe about the size of a washing machine directly into the path of a comet about half the size of Manhattan. Images showed a huge explosion on the comet -- possibly the equivalent to five tons of TNT.

Scientists hope the collision -- and what comes out of it -- will unlock the inner workings of comets.

Before the impact, researchers were wary of the risks.

"There's a certain amount of nervousness at present. ... It's a harsh environment out there, and this is not easy," said Don Yeomans, manager of NASA's Near Earth Objects Program and a co-investigator of the mission.

"We don't really know what to expect, frankly. ... It could be anything from a crater the size of a football stadium to something that's far more modest. Or the spacecraft could simply bury itself into the comet."

Such a complex mission carries its fair share of risks -- like the effects of flying a spacecraft through a wash of dust and ice kicked off by the comet's tail.

"It could sandblast some of our imaging lenses. We are worried about that a little bit," Yeomans said.

But worries are being put aside in the hopes of a big scientific payoff -- a glimpse beneath the comet's surface.

An asteroid discovered just weeks ago has become the most threatening object yet detected in space.
A preliminary orbit suggests that 2002 NT7 is on an impact course with Earth and could strike the planet on 1 February, 2019 - although the uncertainties are large.

Astronomers have given the object a rating on the so-called Palermo technical scale of threat of 0.06, making NT7 the first object to be given a positive value.

From its brightness, astronomers estimate it is about two kilometres wide, large enough to cause continent-wide devastation on Earth.

Many observations

Although astronomers say the object definitely merits attention, they expect more observations to show it is not on an Earth-intersecting trajectory.

This asteroid has now become the most threatening object in the short history of asteroid detection

At the recently grand press launch and special live presentation of Sugo at the Music Museum, lead actor in a dual role Richard Gutierrez refused to divulge who between his characters, Amante and Miguel, is good and who is bad.

"Maraming twists sa istorya, even I wouldn't know what will be next. Posibleng 'yung isa, dahil na-influence siya ng father niya. But as the story progresses, it could also be the other one," Richard said.

Memorial Day weekend

The kind folks at WRCB were generous enough to give me Memorial Day off this year, so we made the most of it. In years past I haven't tried too hard to get off Holiday's, because I'd rather have that time and a half. However, with the arrival of my baby boy and knowing Alicia is home alone with him and his "parrot squawk" as we like to call it, I tried my best to give her one more day of help. Those of you wondering what in the heck the "parrot squawk" is, just wait until you meet him. When he gets mad, he doesn't cry, he squawks like a darn parrot. Just a side story that is funny, a few years ago we vacationed in Florida with my parents and they took us to this cool little joint called harpoon Harry's. Well being an outside establishment, and serving drinks, everything came in a plastic take home cup. Being the keeper of all things, as I am, I kept the cup. When we got back home we realized the harpoon Harry cup had a parrot on the side with a "rrrrrrrrrrawk" in a bubble next to his mouth. So when Harrison cries out we say.."OK, harpoon Harry, that's enough". Funny stuff, well at least being the geeks we are, we think so.

Anyway, enough about the stupid cup, here's a little update on our weekend. Saturday was just a cleaning up day. Harrison was really good that day and it was a good thing, we got several things accomplished. Most of the day was spent cleaning and then we just sat around. There was word of a block party with an outside family movie Saturday night, so around 8 we went on a stroll to seek out the fun. Most of the neighbors haven't met Harrison yet, so we thought what better time than at a gathering. Well, after cruising by several houses, and finally talking to our friends Jay and John, we were informed the fun was for Sunday night, not Saturday. Oh well, it was nice to get out and get some fresh air. While talking to J&J they told us the city had installed a new street light in front of their house, and they haven't been home to see if it works, so as we talked we all kept a good eye on that light. It's amazing what we do for fun these day's! The night ended with us rushing home to feed little guy because he was tired of talking and ready to eat!

Sunday was pretty fun, we drove up the Alicia's parents for the day. Since it's such a drive we usually spend an entire day, eat dinner, and drive home late. It was once again time to celebrate some birthday's. This go 'round it was Alicia's, Fay's, Ashley's, and Harold's time to blow out some candles. A slip up on Debbie's part made for some funny pictures as she picked up the 9 instead of the 6 candle at the store. So Faye was 95 years old on Sunday. I think she ages well! :) Everyone got some good gifts, but Harold got to use his fishing gifts right away as he and Ricky took off to the pond to catch some dinner. I tried my best to stay away, but I couldn't stand the thought of fish being caught and me not being a part of it. So I soon headed down. Harrison and Alicia enjoyed the company of Mandy, Faye, and Debbie as they all sat on the porch and talked girl talk. (Soon enough I'll save you Harrison and you can go fishing with the guys.) Harold caught a nice catfish and after weighing him found out he was 3 3/4 pounds and 21 inches long. Pretty good fish for only two years old. Just as Debbie was calling our names for dinner I caught one myself also weighing 3 3/4 pounds, but measuring 22 inches. But Harold say's we measured ours different, so we'll say they were the same size.

Monday proved to be a sleeping around and enjoying each others company, and remember the men and women who died to allow us to do such. We woke pretty early, but Harrison and I took a nap around noon. Around 2 o'clock Alicia said she would like to go get some food and go buy her new shoes I promised her for her birthday. Rock Creek decided it wasn't a good idea to be open yesterday, so we just concentrated on food. Geez, never knew that would be so hard. Nothing was open...so we ended up at Qdoba with veggy burito's. Afterwards we stoped by Aunt Sue's for some Dog food and to talk to our friends (used to be neighbors) Uneva and Charles Shaw. They are sweet people, and we love stopping in the store to chat or just to pick up some food for one of the animals. Their dog Pilgrim loved to stare at Harrison, but being a good mannered dog he didn't even try to go close to him. As usual the trip abruptly ended with Harrison's patented "rrrrrraawk", so we knew it was time to go home. At home I felt as if I hadn't done a thing on the tool shed in day's and since Alicia and Harrison were wrapped up in feeding, I could take the time to work on the door. After trying to raise the door myself I realized I needed the help of my lovely bride and she happily held the door up as I marked the spots for the hinges. Then she and Harrison retreated to the bed for a nap as I got to work. Around 7 she came back out and said it was time for us to go get some dinner, and I showed her the new attic space I had created in the tool shed. That was something she was really happy to see, since most of our "JUNK" will go there and empty out the house. Just the roofing shingles and hanging the door and that building will be usable. Only painting to go after that. We ended the night at Shogan eating our favorite $1 sushi! YUMMY! This was a special treat since Alicia and I tried it just before she got pregnant, and you aren't allowed to eat it "with child", so she has been craving it for some time.

So overall we had a good weekend, and it's time again to get ready for work. I hope everyone else enjoyed their time as much as I did.

Sinagot ni Nadine Samonte ang isyung problema siya sa Now & Forever dahil nali-late siya sa taping at hindi handa 'pag dumarating sa set. Never daw siyang na-late at pinatunayan ito ni Camille Pengson, executive producer, at iba pang konektado sa show.

Naalala naming sinabi ni Nadine na 'pag may taping siya'y sa bahay nila sa Sta. Rosa siya umuuwi para hindi ma-late. Hindi regular staff kundi, kasama sa lighting crew na, obviously, hindi type si Nadine ang pasimuno ng kuwento.

Maka-Jennylyn Mercado at Yasmien Kurdi pa yata ito dahil nang mapadaan si Nadine ay nagparinig ng: "Hay, mas maganda pa rin si Jennylyn. Minsan, tinawag naman nitong Yasmien si Nadine na ipinag-react ng ina nito.

Konektado pa rin daw sa soap opera ang crew. Ano kaya ang gagawin ng GMA-7 para matigil ang kanyang ginagawa?

Sabi ni direk Mark, hindi lang si Richard Gomez (as Raquim) ang magbabalik sa Encantadia, pati na rin si Dawn Zulueta. Puwede na uling mag-taping si Dawn after July 17 at magti-taping ito hanggang makakaya ng kanyang pagbubuntis, kaya ilang episode ring mapapanood si Ynang Reyna.

Patuloy din ang suporta ng GMA-7 sa show. Nang mabanggit niyang sana'y may falls sila sa loob ng studio dahil 'yung Daranak Falls ay ginagamit ng Ang Panday, the next day, nakita na lang niyang may ginagawang falls sa studio na 15 to 18 feet tall.

Good news sa mga nagpe-petition ng OST o Original Sound Track ng telefantasy dahil tinatrabaho na raw ito ng GMA Records. Bukod sa theme song at Tadhana ni Bayang Barrios, magdaragdag pa sila ng ibang original songs sa album.

At ngayon namin na-realize, may mga bagay-bagay pala sa showbiz na hindi man masabing permanente ay hindi naman matapus-tapos — ang insecurity at inggit.

Pitong linggo nang nananalo si Harry Santos sa Pinoy Pop Superstar, kaya kami na instant fan ni Harry ay naubos na ang kuko sa kangangatngat sa sobrang tense nu'ng i-announce na ang winner last Saturday.

Crowd's favorite si Harry, dahil sa taglay nitong charm, gandang lalaki at sa kanyang punyetang ngiti na puwedeng makatanggal ng problema mo (gano'n katindi!).

Sana, umabot pa sa 8th week si Harry, although
nu'ng 4th week pa lang, pasok na siya sa grand finals.

Eh, hayup naman ang boses — Josh Groban (na ngayon pa lang ay dapat nang kainsekyuran ni Christian Bautista).

Para matapos na ang lahat ng espekulasyon, kinumpirma sa amin ng manager ni Angel Locsin
na si Becky Aguila na pinayagan na rin niyang sumama si Oyo Boy sa young actress sa pagpunta nito sa States, pero ito ay dahil sa kasama rin siya.

"Kami ang magkasama ni Oyo Boy. Ako ang makakasama niya sa tirahan dahil may mga relative rin ako sa San Francisco," pag-amin ni Tita Becky.

Since kasama rin naman daw siya, pumayag na rin siyang kasama si Oyo Boy at siya raw ang laging kasa-kasama nito during their stay there habang si Angel naman ay nagsu-shoot ng I Will Always Love You with Richard Gutierrez.

Tiniyak din ng manager na hindi maaabala ni Oyo Boy ang pagsu-shooting ni Angel at hindi raw ito makikita sa set.

"Ang dami-rami kasing kung anu-anong lumalabas. So, para matigil na, ako na mismo ang maga-announce na kasama siya,"

Hindi naiere ang Jeremiah Rosales story ng S-Files last Sunday dahil na-preempt na ito ng ABS-CBN.

Diumano ay ginawan ng paraan ng network para mai-save si Jeremiah sa napipintong pagkawasak ng nagsisimulang career nito kung matutuloy na maiere ang istorya sa S-Files, kung saan ay nagpa-interview naman ang babaeng nabuntis nito na nagngangalang Ethel.

Sa interview ng S-Files, nagrereklamo si Ethel sa hindi pagbibigay ng sustento ni Jeremiah sa dalawa nilang anak. Dapat ay last week pa ito naere, pero dahil sa kakulangan ng oras ay na-postpone ang airing and supposedly ay last Sunday nga nila ito ipalalabas.

Sa hindi pag-ere na 'yun last Sunday ay nakakuha ng pagkakataon ang kabilang istasyon. According to our source, pinuntahan diumano ng taga-ABS-CBN ang girl at pinagkasundo sila ni Jeremiah sa pangakong susustentuhan na ng young actor ang dalawang anak.

True enough, ipinakita sa The Buzz ang pag-amin ni Jeremiah sa dalawa niyang anak at ang pirmahan nila ng kasunduan ni Ethel na susustentuhan nito ang mga bata.

Minabuti na lang ng S-Files na hindi nila ipalabas ang istorya nila since hayun at buong ningning na nasa kabila na ang girlash at nakikipag-areglo.

May kasalanan din ang S-Files dahil hindi nila naiere agad ang istorya, pero nakaloloka rin naman ang girlash na nasilaw agad.

Sabagay, in the first place, kaya naman siya pumunta sa S-Files ay para maiparating sa kinauukulan ang reklamo niya na 'di pagsusustento sa kanyang mga anak, eh kung ganyang ibibigay na ang gusto niya, bakit pa nga naman siya tatanggi?

Mabuti naman at nawawala na ang bukol na minsang nakapa ng young actress sa kanyang dibdib.
Hindi na siya naaalarma pa't inalis na niya sa isip na maaring ito'y cyst.

May nagsabi rin sa kanyang marahil ay dahil lang ito sa sobrang pagod sa trabaho.

But just the same, mas maganda kung makapagpapa-check-up na rin ang young actress to be sure na wala talaga siyang dapat ikaalarma.

The local folks of Biliran, Leyte gave Pampanga Congressman Mikey Macapagal Arroyo and the stars of the movie "Sablay Ka Na, Pasaway Ka Pa" a rousing and warm welcome at the premiere showing of the Cine Suerte film held Sunday at the Naval Institute of Technology Gym in Biliran, Leyte. We were among those invited by Cine Suerte to attend the premiere night and we witnessed the warm reception given to Mikey and his co-stars by the local folk of Biliran who packed the NIT Gym like sardines and cheered the stars from beginning to end.

Joining Mikey at the premiere were "StarStruck" 1 member Katrina Halili, the famed rap group Salbakuta and sexy bombshell TV host Ethel Booba who was such a big hit to the crowd. The audience let out a big cheer when Ethel entered the gym with boyfriend Alex Crisano. Of course, Katrina and Salbakuta got their own share of shrieks

and shouts but it was Ethel who was an instant hit. It's probably because she's a natural comic that made Ethel an instant hit, aside from the fact that she's part of the number one reality show, "Extra Challenge." With a mere wave of her hand, Ethel was able to send the already delirious crowd cheering in approval.

Also present at the premiere night was Cong. Gerry "Boy" Espina, the congressman from Biliran, who makes his acting debut in the Willy Milan flick produced by Cine Suerte Productions.

Also present was Gov. Rogelio Espina. It was the first time that a premiere showing was held in Biliran, and a first indeed it was, because there is no cinemahouse in Biliran. The production staff of Cine Suerte put up three screens (two inside the gym, another one outside) so that the Biliranons could enjoy the movie.

It was through the initiative of Cong. Mikey Arroyo and Cong. Gerry Boy Espina that the premiere was held. Both of them agreed to shoulder the expenses of putting up the event. "I am very thankful to my good friend, Mikey, who agreed to help me put up this event for the Biliranons," said Cong. Espina. "Naghati po kami ni Cong. Mikey sa gastos para po maipahatid sa inyo ang palabas na ito. First time po ito mangyayari na magkaroon ng premiere night sa ating lugar kahit na walang sinehan."

For his part, Mikey thanked the Biliranons for their support not only for him but also for his mother, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. It was obvious that the place was a PGMA territory. There were placards that say "We Love GMA" and "Biliranons Support GMA." There were also placards that say "We Love Cong. Mikey Arroyo" and "We Love Cong. Gerry Boy Espina."

But it was Ethel who stole the thunder from her co-stars, although she said the fans seemed to have cheered more when Alex Crisano was introduced to the crowd.

Mikey granted a TV interview for ABS-CBN and GMA 7. He said he's leaving for the States for a while although he did not say when is he coming back. He will only come back to his post as Congressman once he has cleared his name regarding the controversies surrounding his name. But the Biliranon crowd didn't seem to mind whatever it is that bothers Mikey. They cheered him mightily.

'Alex doesn't hurt his children

We also got to talk to Ethel Booba who said she has not been reading the papers because of the numerous controversies involving her and boyfriend Alex Crisano. But Ethel says she's in the process of patching up her differences with her family although her mother seems not yet inclined to patch up differences with her. Well, at least, not at the moment yet although Ethel remains everything would turn out all right.

Ethel says she and Alex are already talking about marriage although this might not happen soon. "Siguro, when I turn 32, saka na kami magpapakasal Saka pinag-usapan namin ni Alex na gusto ko muna magkaroon ng baby bago kami makasal," said the comedienne-TV host of "Extra Challenge" fame.

Ethel also denies reports that Alex had been maltreating his children. "Kung talagang sinasaktan niya ang mga bata, naku, baka may latay na ito sa katawan. Hindi ko mapapayagan na saktan niya ang mga bata," said Ethel.

"I love children kaya lang 'pag kausap ko ang mga anak ni Alex, parang mauubusan ako ng English. Pero 'pag nagagalit ako sa kanila, I talk to them in Tagalog."

Fun at Klownz

The fun and laughter continues as Klownz Araneta ups as the excitement this July when the fave sing-along joint marks its second anniversary with month-long musical treats every night.

John Lapus celebrates his birthday via a special show titled "Happy Birthday Sweet" on Friday, July 8. It's going to be a dance concert with John sharing the spotlight with Star Dance Ultimate 4 and X10.

This will be followed by The Best of the Sexbomb Dancers, to be headlined by Sexbomb Rochelle Pangilinan, with Alfred Vargas as special guest on July 10. On July 15, Kyla will hold "Kyla...Just the Power of My Voice" concert.

From July 17 to 20, there will be "Ukay-Ukay with the Stars." There will be a tiangge at the Klownz Araneta parking lot, with close to 50 stalls to be put up and manned by your favorite celebrities selling items.

Sa pelikula lang po siya nakaganap bilang ama at hindi pa ito ang tamang panahon for Allen (Dizon) to portray father roles para sa isang teleserye," says talent manager, Dennis Evangelista.

Allen is included in the cast of the soap drama "Mga Anghel na Walang Langit" where he depicts a bad character. He has previously appeared in "Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako" also from ABS CBN. The bold actor says he is grateful to Channel 2 for giving him the break at a time when bold films are no longer in demand. It is understandable why Allen's manager is not so keen accepting father roles for his ward. Allen is one of the hunks in the group, Viva Hotmen and has to maintain his macho image. Tapika this month

For the month of July, only the best of the acoustic singers are performing at Tapika. Some of them are the same artists who graced the occasion when Tapika opened to the public a few years ago.

These Tapika babies are: Paolo Santos, U-Turn, Hourglass, Dominic and Burton, Mike Manahan (formerly of MYMP and now has formed a duet with his brother Angelo) and Nyoy Volante and the Mannos.

Tapika has been home for lovers of acoustic music and mouth watering Pinoy dishes.

Tosca wants to entertain

After graduating from her course at De La Salle last year, Tosca Puno finally got her father's (Rico Puno, who else?) consent to join the music scene.

She became a part of the Greatest Hits Series when she had a duet with his famous father on some of his shows. Everytime they perform, the audience won't let them go unless they do their version of "The Prayer."

"I am not really aiming for stardom. I just want to entertain people," Tosca says.
mtrcb overruled by a security guard
CAN a security guard refuse entry to a MTRCB deputy card holder?

Well, the MTRCB (which is under the Office of the President) has been overpowered by a security guard manning Robinson Galleria's Cinema 6 when he refused a MTRCB deputy card holder to watch a movie last Sunday night, simply because it was, in his words, "invitational." What this overzealous security guard could have done was ask whoever sponsored the showing of the movie, "Fantastic Four" before he could rule out no entry for the MTRCB card holder who decided not to stoop down to the guard's level by not arguing with him.

FRIENDS advised Kris Aquino to ask her cager boyfriend James Yap if he'd be willing to sign a pre-nuptial agreement. This will make sure that in case their marriage doesn't work, he won't get any part of the properties Kris earned through the years before they tied the knot. It's no secret that between the two of them, Kris is the one who has money since she earns millions from her ABS-CBN shows and endorsements, while James comes from a simple family from Escalante, Negros. Like brother, like brother

JUST like his Kuya Jericho Rosales who has love children, Star Magic Batch 13 member Jeremy Rosales turns out to be an unwed father. Also like his namesake, Jeremy (Marquez, who also tried to hid the fact that he already has two kids.) Well, what do you expect? They all come from a broken home so they don't have responsible parents who'd guide them and make them realize it's not right for them to have kids out of wedlock. Jeremy was only 17 years old when he got a 16-year old girl named Jane Ethel Gonowon pregnant. He suddenly vanished when their child was already seven months but he returned a year later and she quickly received him so she got pregnant again and they now have two kids. As someone said in Tagalog: "E, wala palang kadala-dala ang babaing ito."

Jeremy disappeared again and she soon learned he's in showbiz. She now wants monthly support from him. Wonder where he'd get it when he has yet to make a name for himself. And frankly, Jeremy is not as outstanding in looks like his Kuya Echo niya.

War of the worlds: Nothing new

ONE of the most anticipated big Hollywood summer releases is Steven Spielberg's version of HG Wells' century old novel, "War of the Worlds." It opened in time for their Independence Day holiday on July 4th. This has an earlier version in 1953, butthis is definitely far from the old one, what with today's latest developments in computer general special effects.This one focuses on Tom Cruise as Ray, a New Jersey dock worker who's divorced from his wife (Miranda Otto of "Lord of the Rings") and has a strained relationship with their two kids, the teenaged Robbie (Justin Chatwin) and 10-year-old Rachel (DakotaFanning).

The movie opens with the children left under his care as their mom is traveling to Boston with her new husband. After this, Spielberg moves right into the action. Ray sees a series of weird lightnings, there's complete loss of electricity, and craters emerge on the middle of the street. The whole place is rocked by a quake that tears buildings apart and from underground come giant mechanized tripods that run after people and pulverize them with their laser light. Ray decides to take his kids to their mom in Boston, which is three hours away by land. But of course, it won't be easy for them to get there. Along the way, they encounter a string of dangerous situations. Anarchy rules the streets and people who want to get their car nearly kill them. As Rachel is about to pee by the riverbank, she sees countless bodies of dead people floating downstream, killed by aliens. They seek refuge in the basement of an ambulance driver (Tim Robbins) where they get to see the aliens up close. Meantime, the tripod monsters try to blast them out at every turn, but Tom Cruise plays the hero, so he's invulnerable. What Spielberg succeeds in doing is tapping into America's fear of terrorism after 9/11. He just substituted alien invasion for terrorist attack. After the first attack, Tom Cruise is covered with debris like the people who saw the World Trade Center as it collapsed. But the movie has plenty of elements that are just borrowed from other films. The sequence where they get trapped in a basement will remind you of a similar scene in"Signs," where Mel Gibson is also a dad with two kids facing alien invasion. The scene where the aliens enter the basement is reminiscent of a similar scene in Spielberg's "Jurassic Park" when the raptors enter a kitchen and the characters hide to protect their lives. The plot element about a parent who tries to connect with his kids is similar to the mother of the kids in "E.T." and to Dennis Quaid who travels to New York to save his son in "The Day After Tomorrow."

Doing films about aliens is not really new for Spielberg since he has previously done "E.T." and "Close Encounters of the Third Kind." But the aliens there are friendly unlike here where they want to annihilate mankind. When it comes to the special effects, "War of the Worlds" is truly dazzling. The brutal action scenes involving the giant tripods incinerating everyone who stands on their way are seamlessly executed and have a chilling effect. But we're somewhat disappointed with the movie since it's from a master filmmaker like Spielberg and we're honestly expecting more. The conclusion, for one, is quite ludicrous and the movie suddenly ends without any preparation. There's a big emotional buildup when Robbie says goodbye to his dad to join the military resistance against the aliens. You'd think he's been killed but he suddenly materializes in the end looking remorseful for a tearful reunion with his dad. The resolution on how the aliens were defeated is really a letdown, almost as silly as that of "Mars Attacks" where the aliens were turned off by a song. We won't gointo details anymore so we won't be a spoiler. But you can't just help but think: The voice over narration at the start of the movie says the aliens studied our planet for millions of years before they made their attack. So how come they were not able to foresee the danger of the element that ultimately caused their defeat?This is also the defect of "Signs," where the aliens had to leave Earth as they are afraid of water. Were they that stupid? Didn't they even know that our planet is made up of 75 percent water?

In the final analysis, there is really nothing fresh or unique about "War of the Worlds," except for the awesome computer generated effects, like when they turned a river ferry upside down with all the people and cars in it. But several parts really drag and we quickly lose our interest in viewing it. This is mainly because the story is told only through Tom's perspective, so the viewer never really sees the extent of the devastation wrought by the aliens. In merely following Ray's journeythrough the war zone, the scriptwriter (David Koepp of "Jurassic Park") seems to runout of ideas and the story grinds to halt. It's good the acting is consistently good, even if the plot is thin and the characters are so underdeveloped they never really come to life. Tom has a number of fine dramatic moments that he is able to do well and Dakota Fanning, just like in"Man on Fire" and "Hide and Seek," gets to scream her little lungs out again as the terrorized Rachel. But the most exhausting thing they were asked to do is to just run, run and run for their lives, which was also what Tom did in his first outing with Spielberg, "Minority Report."This certainly pales in comparison to "Independence Day," another movie about alien attack that is more successful in fulfilling its intention as a summer popcorn movie.

In contrast, "War of the Worlds" is more of a horror flick and definitely one of the darkest productions ever to market itself as summertime movie entertainment.

Ang "katung-gali" niya sa ABS-CBN na ka-puwa niyang ultimate winner sa ka-ni-kanilang reality contests na si Hero, bad press ang kinauungusan lately.

Hindi lang bad press. Bad impression na rin ang naimarka ng binata, sa sa-rili pa mandin nitong ma-nagement na Star Magic, at sariling network ang "kinakalaban" - ang istasyon na nagpundar sa kanya ng milyon, ng tiwala, ng pagmamahal , ang ABS-CBN.

Ang ginawang pagdedemanda ni Hero at ng manager-brother niyang si Henry Angeles kay Tita Cristy Fermin ay, yes, ka-rapatan nila bilang mga ta-ong nasaktan. Pero hindi na ba nila isinaalang-alang ang consequences after their act?

Hayan tuloy ngayon, sa lahat ng showbiz functions na mapuntahan namin ay "nega" na ang dating ni Hero. Which is, sasabihin ulit namin, super-sayang ang nagsisimulang career ni Hero dahil in fairness, mabait naman by nature ito.

We should know dahil nakasama nga namin si He-ro noong hindi pa siya artista. Ewan na lang ngayong nagtatamasa na ng kasikatan, baka nalunod na nga sa isang basong tubig, 'ika nga. Of course, kahit si Mr. Johnny Manahan ay hindi gaganahan sa mga nangyayari, 'di ba?

Halos magkasunod lang sinimulan ang taping nito with Darna noon ni Angel Locsin, at ngayon lang nga ipapalabas dahil talagang binusisi ng staff nina Direk Lore Reyes and Dominic Zapata.

Sa press conference pa lang, walang pakialam ang GMA management sa launching. No less than Music Museum nangyari ang grandiosang launching ng Sugo na, as always, ay suportado ng big bosses ng Kapuso Network sa kanilang mga speeches sa VTR.

Nagpalakpakan ang mga tao at halatang na-surprise din dahil sa ganda ng tinig ng ilan sa mga mga miyembro ng Baywalk Bodies.

Bumibirit talaga sila at parang mga diva kung kumanta. Mapapahiya ang ilang sexy stars at members ng iba pang grupo na ka-tulad din nilang ku-makanta at sumasayaw.

Hit na hit din sa audience ang carrier single ng kanilang album na Kilig. Very fami-liar na ito sa aming pandinig dahil palagi itong pinatutugtog sa FM stations.

Suwerte si Lito de Guzman dahil finally, hit maker na rin ang Baywalk Bodies. Nagbunga na rin sa wakas ang kanyang mga pagtitiyaga.

Kasama rin sa album ng Baywalk Bodies ang mga kantang Ah Ewan, Pasulyap-sulyap, Chocolate, Xibom Bom Bom at Pinagbigyan. Honestly, they are really better singers than any other female groups na narinig na namin at napanood mag-perform. At dahil sa lakas ng recall ng kanilang Kilig album, hindi malayong makagold record agad ito, huh!

Isang masa-yang patalbu-gan ng mga madre at mga aswang ng Kampanerang Kuba ang mapapanood ngayong Martes sa Homeboy hosted by Boy Abunda. Patutunayan nina Sister Cecille (Meryll Soriano) at Sister Jacinta (Eugene Domingo) na kaya nilang makipagsabayan sa kantahan at sayawan sa mga as-wang na sina Otlum (Chokoleit) at Maluk (Romel Chika).
