Nagsaswapang ang lahat sa ngalan ng free market.

Ang malaki ang mga kinikita, may balik-kaluluwa sila sa mga paboritong charity organisasyong tinutulungan. Pero pakabig pa rin.

Pasintabi sa alaala ng Kardinal, sige, magpaka-Kristiyano tayo. Tanggapin ang humihingi ng patawad. Tulungan ang nangangailangan.

Krisis ang panahon. Hindi maganda ang watak-watak ang bansa. Magkaisa.

Sino ang kumakatsang ng mga ganitong mensahe/masahe sa atin? Ang mga busog. Ang mga taong takot dahil may karera at negosyo sila na hindi dapat mahinto ng isang domestik lamang na kaguluhan.

Samantala, ang mga lumpen sa daan, hilahod. Agawan sa hanapbuhay, agawan sa sasakyan na mausok at maruming jeep, lunod sa baha, busog sa plastik noodles, salat sa gamot, padeli-delihensya.

Ang maliliit na tao sa pelikula at network, damay sa kahirapan. Pasabit-sabit sa taping, shooting, tinitiis na ang kontrata.

Pero masaya pa rin ang showbiz… isang simulacra.

Res cogitans…(mga bagay na nag-iisip o may kargang ideya)… mind bersus matter. Nagtapos na ang era na ito. Tayo ay pumapasok sa mundo ng simulacra.

Kaya tayo may Famas pa sa loob ng 53 taon. Hindi nagbabago, hindi natitinag sa kultura… ito ay isang kababalaghan.

Maraming nagbago sa teknolohiya ng pelikula pero ang padrino sistema, bata-bata sistema, ang pulitika ng Famas ay hindi natitibag.

Kristiyano nga tayong nagpapatawad… nagpapasensya.

Sa kalungkutan ng bansa… himas ang isukli natin sa gabi ng katatapos na Famas.

Hayaan na natin ang Famas. Tumatanda, sana may pinagkatandaan. Malayo pa ring mangyari iyon… hanggang hindi magigising ang mga isponsor at iboykot ito.

Hanggang pinapatulan ang kanilang mga award ng mga artistang sabik sa kahit anong tropeo.

Hanggang may network na sasalo para palaganapin ang insulto ng mga ganitong award sa kabuuan ng industriya, sige, magparaya tayo.

Isakripisyo ang mga ambisyon at personal na interes.

"Naku, mahirap para sa pulitika at showbiz gawin ‘yan!" tili ng isang hitad.

Iyan na nga, eh. Iyan na nga, eh…

Nasa loob tayo ng sapot: world wide web o www. Ito na rin ang web of social networks dala ng mga istasyon ng media.

Ang mga bagay na walang halaga, sa akala natin, ang mga ito na hindi natin pinapansin, ay ipinapasok bilang laman ng iskren/mass media. Nationwide pa ang dating ng coverage.

Nawalan ng pag-asa ang estado na burahin ang Hello Garci audio texto dahil naipasok agad sa internet. Hindi pumayag ang awdyens na mabura ito. Naipreserba kaagad.

Nawalan ng saysay ang balak isabotahe ang midya texto.

Galit ang Pinoy kahit nakamasid lamang. Nagtitimpi pero nag-aalimpuyo. Hindi humihinto ang simposyum, pagtitipon ng mga NGO, civil grupo, para ituloy ang isyu. May naghain ng impeachment, ng kaso sa ombudsman, lumakas ang debate sa radyo at tv, at bantayan ng kampo ang oposisyon at estado sa mga taktikang ilalabas. REALIDAD ITO.

Isang dating CNN bureau chief sa Jakarta ang na-appoint ngayon na head ng news group. Ito ang unang hakbang. And there are still more.

MMDA SUMMIT - 1 BIG JOKE

MMDA summit, isang malaking joke

Last time we wrote about the MMDA Summit tungkol sa kanilang Metro Manila Film Festival 2005. Isang araw na meeting iyon ng mga prodyuser at industry people at ng MMDA at mga experts nila tungkol sa rules ng festival.

Hinati sa tatlong grupo ang participants. Ang first group ay tumalakay sa mga uri ng pelikula. Ang second group ay tungkol sa prodyuser at mga entries nila. Ang third, kung paano ibebenta ang festival sa moviegoers at media.

Tila pinag-usapan nila ang mga limitasyon sa prodyuser, director at mga artista. Buong araw na naroon kami, mga taga-media, bilang observers.

Kaya malaking gulat namin nang inanunsyo ni Bayani Fernando ng MMDA na magiging free-for-all ang festival. No-holds-barred na. Kung last year ay nakatatlong pelikula ang Regal sa festival at di napili ang Minsan Pa ng maliit na MLR Productions, ngayon, kahit 10 ay pwedeng makapasok ang isang prodyuser.

Paano na lang ang mga maliliit, ang mga bago at hindi malalakas? Ang walang kapit? Hindi na lang sila gagawa dahil tila monopoly na ng mga malalaking prodyuser?

Noong panahon ng "diktatorya" ni Marcos at ni Imelda sa MMDA, walang ganitong dictatorial rule ang Metro Manila Film Festival na ibinigay pa ng MMDA sa Mowelfund at film industry.

Paisa-isa lang noon ang entry ng prodyuser, ng big stars at ng director. At mas successful noon ang festival! Huwag kayong mabulag sa mga sinasabi ng MMDA ngayon na kinikita nila. P500M daw last year? Take it or leave it.

Marami kaming natanggap na feedback tungkol sa SUMMIT item.

Ang isang relevant message ay mula kay Atty. Joji Antonio na producer ng Minsan Pa ay nagreklamo sa MMDA last year laban sa multiple entries ng ibang prodyuser.

Sabi ni Atty. Joji: "Naku, Billy. Thank you for mentioning the MMDA Summit in your column. It was nothing but a big joke, intended to put a semblance of transparency.

"Now the rules have really come ‘clean’ and shown the real score. Kaya free for all na siya, for whatever it’s worth."

Beautiful, pious farm girl, one of six children of Luigi Goretti and Assunta

Carlini. In 1896 the family moved to Ferriere di Conca. Soon after, Maria's

father died of malaria, and the family was forced to move onto the Serenelli

farm to survive.

In 1902 at age twelve, Maria was attacked by 19-year-old farm-hand Alessandro

Serenelli. He tried to rape the girl who fought, yelled that it was a sin,

and that he would go to hell. He tried to choke her into submission, then

stabbed her fourteen times. She survived in hospital for two days, forgave

her attacker, asked God's forgiveness of him, and died holding a crucifix and

medal of Our Lady. Counted as a martyr.

While in prison for his crime, Allessandro had a vision of Maria. He saw a

garden where a young girl, dressed in white, gathered lilies. She smiled,

came near him, and encouraged him to accept an armful of the lilies. As he

took them, each lily transformed into a still white flame. Maria then

disappeared. This vision of Maria led to Alessandro's conversion, and he

later testified at her cause for beatification.

It is well known how this young girl had to face a bitter struggle with no

way to defend herself. Without warning a vicious stranger burst upon her,

bent on raping her and destroying her childlike purity. In that moment of

crisis she could have spoken to her Redeemer in the words of that classic,

The Imitation of Christ: "Though tested and plagued by a host of misfortunes,

I have no fear so long as your grace is with me. It is my strength, stronger

than any adversary; it helps me and give me guidance." With splendid courage

she surrendered herself to God and his grace and so gave her life to protect

her virginity.

The life of a simple girl - I shall concern myself only with highlights - we

can see as worthy of heaven. Even today people can look upon it with

admiration and respect. Parents can learn from her story how to raise their

God-given children in virtue, courage, and holiness; they can learn to train

them in the Catholic faith so that, when put to the test, God's grace will

support them and they will come through undefeated, unscathed, and

untarnished.

From Maria's story carefree children and young people with their zest for

life can learn not to be led astray by attractive pleasures which are not

only ephemeral and empty but also sinful. Instead they can fix their sights

on achieving Christian moral perfection, however difficult that course may

prove. With determination and God's help all of us can attain that goal by

persistent effort and prayer.

Not all of us are expected to die a martyr's death, but we are all called to

the pursuit of Christian virtue.

So let us all, with God's grace, strive to reach the goal that the example of

the virgin martyr, Saint Maria Goretti, sets before us. Through her prayers

to the Redeemer may all of us, each in his own way, joyfully try to follow

the inspiring example of Maria Goretti who now enjoys eternal happiness in

heaven.

Bianca Lapuz fights back

Actress Bianca Lapuz expressed her disappointment with ABS-CBN’s "The Buzz" for failing to air her father’s side on the issue involving her and estranged husband Vhong Navarro last Sunday.


According to Bianca, "The Buzz" requested a phone interview with her dad two weeks ago. He wanted to dispute the column of Ogie Diaz which he felt "tarnished" his daughter’s reputation.

The former teen actress said, Ogie went on to print in full some text messages that she sent to Vhong in private. "In that text message I sent Vhong, I told him I’ve kept my mouth shut for the longest time but this time susundin ko na ang bilin ng mama ko kaya lalaban na ako," Bianca said in an interview with Manila Bulletin last Monday.

Bianca added that Ogie’s only mistake was that he did not consider editing the text message before putting it out on print, instead, he deliberately published it word for word.

"This morning I texted the people of ‘The Buzz.’ I told them my dad is very disappointed because we trusted them to air our side of the story but they never did. They even guested Vhong live and allowed him to air his side," lamented Bianca.

When contacted for comment, Ogie Diaz denied the accusations. He said, "Sa column ko, pinangaralan ko lang siya kasi hindi tama na pag-usapan ang ari ng ex–boyfriend (referring to Zed Torrecareon) mo sa burol ng nanay mo. I based what I wrote on the article of Allan Diones, a friend of Bianca’s na nakuwentuhan niya nung burol ng nanay niya. I never printed a text message of hers," explained Ogie.

He added that Bianca is aware that what he wrote is not libelous because she acknowledged it as an advice when she guested on GMA 7’s "Startalk."

"Sabi niya sa ‘Startalk,’ kung gusto ko siya pangaralan sana in private ko ginawa at sana ‘di ko na sinulat so aminado siya na pangaral yun on my part. Ang katwiran ko naman, para ano pa at naging writer ako kung hindi ko isusulat ang napupuna ko," he reasoned.

Ogie added that he even agreed to the idea of guesting Bianca in his show "ETK" so that they can talk face to face and clear all the issues that seemed to have piled up and created a big wall between them.

"I really want to get her side pero siya ang umayaw sa invitation namin," closed Ogie.

Inamin niya na siya ang tinutukoy na baguhang aktor na mayroon nang anak. Bago pa man lumaki ang isyu, inayos na ni Jeremiah ang isyu. Kinausap niya ang ina ng anak niya. Nagsalita na rin ang ina ng anak niya sa isyu.

As agreed, itutuloy ni Jeremiah ang suporta sa kanyang anak. Ipag-o-open niya ng savings account ang ina ng bata para sa kanyang monthly support sa kanyang anak.

Napili na last Sunday ang dalawang grand finalists na bubuo sa Champions League of 12 ng Search For The Star In A Million (Season 2). Sa limang nag-compete last Sunday na kinabibilangan nina May Cogonon, Tony dela Paz, Venus Gutierrez, Oreo Vamenta, at Joey Ignacio, sina Joey at Tony ang pumasok bilang grand finalists.

Sa naging competition last Sunday, hindi mo talaga masasabi kung sino ang matatanggal at kung sino ang mari-retain. Sa lima, consistent sina Tony at Joey. Sila rin ang masasabing may star appeal. Tiyak na yung star appeal nila ang naging edge nila sa kanilang mga nakatunggali.

Next Sunday, madugo na naman ang elimination. Maglalaban-laban na sina Jay Perillo, Kris Lawrence, Mitch Tizon, Jessica Fernando at Anne Quitoriano.

Hero's career in jeopardy

Don't be surprised if the showbiz career of Hero Angeles starts to slide down. The worst scenario started to happen when the teen-oriented program "SCQ Reload: Kilig Ako" where Hero was a regular, was axed. He is neither a participant in the Sunday variety show "ASAP Fanatic."

Hero, last year's grand winner in "Star Circle Quest," had it coming after filing libel charges against TV host and columnist Cristy Fermin.

It was a legal move but a drastic one which he, perhaps, didn't realize will have a bad effect on his career.

We can't exactly blame Hero who felt assasinated over a series of negative write-ups Fermin wrote. As the Tagalog saying goes, "napuno na ang salop."

when a newcomer who is a non-conformist like Hero gets thrown into showbiz arena where no basic formula is applied. At times the proper way is not exactly the right way in handling certain issues.

He may not be at war with the management and his complaints were directed to Ms. Fermin, But she happens to be a "kapamilya," and indirectly, Hero has already declared war with the company who is building him up.

An unsolicited advice is for Hero to settle the dispute not through legal means but through communications and we don't mean texting. Apparently, there was little of this in the past. Patching up will help "save" the career of Hero from zooming down. Win friends should be his guiding motto. Afterall, the people who used to back him up are not that cruel or heartless. (Or, if they are, Hero should know where he stands.)

Ai Ai admits long distance love affair difficult

Ai Ai de las Alas is missing her American boyfriend, Art Carter terribly. The comedienne didn't realize she really fell in love with her boyfriend until the guy flew back to the United States after a brief visit here in Manila where Art got to meet Ai Ai's family, her mom and three children, Sancho, Nicolo and Sofia.

"Akala ko hindi ko siya mami-miss kasi nasa abroad naman talaga siya at dito ako based pero hindi ko ma-explain na nami-miss ko talaga siya," told a dear friend.

Ai Ai and Art appeared in the anniversary presentation of "The Buzz" three weeks ago and the guy was amazed to know that Ai Ai is really that popular. Ai Ai even found out that Art did research on her on and found out she's a celebrity here in Manila, with hit movies,

sold out concerts and awards to her name.

Ai Ai even goes to the extent of making tampo whenever Art calls her on the phone because she really misses him. "Inaaway ko siya palagi kasi nami-miss ko talaga. Ni hindi ko man lang magawang maglambing sa kanya kahit na gusto ko kasi magkalayo kami. Mahirap pala talaga ang long distance love affair," said the comedienne.

It's a good thing there are many things that keep her busy. Ai Ai tapes for her sitcom "My Juan en Only" (aired every Saturday on ABS-CBN) and she's doing several shows in Klownz Araneta which is celebrating a month-long series of special shows to mark its second anniversary.

"Mabuti na lang marami akong trabaho at saka I make it a point also to play badminton para di masyadong occupied ang isip ko thinking about my lovelife," said Ai Ai.

She's doing a special show at Klownz Araneta on July 23 titled "4 The 1st Time…in One Show" with Jimmy Santos, Wally Bayola, and Jose Manalo. This is the first time that Ai Ai is joining the three "Eat Bulaga" mainstays in one show. Remember they used to be competitors in the noontime slot as Ai Ai used to be with the defunct noontime program "MTB."

"We did this show a week ago in Klownz Araneta and we were gladdened by the response of the crowd. But we are doing a different kind of show on the 23rd kaya dapat manood pa rin sila," said Ai Ai.

Rica as babymaker

Rica Peralejo plays a challenging role as a babymaker in this week's episode of "Maalaala Mo Kaya." Rica plays Chona who, as a child, didn't experience to be loved by her own family. It was for this reason that she left her family and tried to find her luck under the sun. Hoping to find the peaceful life she wanted to lead, Chona left her family but in the new place where she had hoped to discover peace and solace, Chona learned things the hard way. She became a prostitute, going to bed with any man who would want her services.

She then decided to become a babymaker for a hefty fee. And for every child that she brought into this world, Chona sees the positive side of life ` that of being a mother. But what if every child she brings in this world is taken away from her, depriving her of the opportunity to be a mother.

Also featured in this week's episode of "Maalaala Mo Kaya" are Dexter Doria, Criselda Volks, Mahlou Crisologo, Nikka Valencia and Cherry Lou. Written by award-winning Mel Mendoza-del Rosario, the episode is directed by Jeffrey Jeturian.

"Nahirapan ako sa role kasi super madrama ang mga eksena but I am really happy because I got the chance to work with director Jeffrey Jeturian. Talagang piniga niya ako sa mga drama scenes ko. Kung effective lumabas ang acting ko, credit Direk Jeffrey for that," said Rica.

Zsa Zsa downed by raw salads in US

ZSA ZSA Padilla has been in the hospital for nearly two weeks now. When she did a series of shows in the States, she ate mostly fresh raw salads and steak cooked rare. She was told such foodstuff in the US that's not cooked well or not cooked at all have germs and bacteria that might not agree with Asian bodies.

So, her stomach got terribly upset and when she came home, she was already having high fever and was also throwing up.

Her doctor fave her super strong anti-biotics as she clearly has intestinal infection and put her on dextrose for several days so she can regain her strength.

Because of this, the shooting of her movie for Regal Films, "Ako Legal Wife," directed by Joel Lamangan, has been delayed.

plays the first wife of Jay Manalo in the story with John Prats as their son. They are just waiting for her to return to resume the shooting of the movie as Jay's scenes with his second wife, Cherry Pie Picache, have already been shot. But now that she got sick, they have no choice but to wait for her some more.

ABS-CBN’s Filipino Channel unfazed by GMA’s new PinoyTV

July 16, 2005 could have gone down the network war history books as "the fight for Los Angeles." Originally, ABS-CBN 2 and GMA 7 talents were going head to head in simultaneous concerts at the colossal Rose Bowl Stadium, and the cultural hub, The Mark Tater Forum Theater, respectively; but at the last minute, GMA 7 announced the cancellation of its show and issued the following statement:

"Due to a serious problem with one of the pay-TV carriers of GMA PinoyTV, we are postponing our live SOP GMA PinoyTV Launch Show scheduled on July 16, 2005, at The Forum in Los Angeles, California. We intend to proceed with the show at a later date, when we have resolved our carriage problem."

And so, a week from Saturday, the gang of the ABS-CBN noontime show ASAP ’05, led by Gary Valenciano and Zsa Zsa Padilla, and Kris Aquino and Boy Abunda’s The Buzz will have the LA Filipino community all to themselves in the 90,000-seater stadium. Calling it the "US Kapamilya Caravan"—following the "2005 Summer Kapamilya Caravan" in Cebu, Iloilo and Davao—the show will be a free whole-day affair, complete with autograph signing sessions and photo ops with the ABS-CBN stars. US-based Filipino artists Lea Salonga and Jasmine Trias will also appear in the ASAP presentation, while the legally embattled Superstar Nora Aunor will grace the set of The Buzz later on in the day.

But to proclaim ABS-CBN the "winner by default," come July 16, would be a sheer misnomer, according to Jeffrey H. Remigio, assistant vice president of ABS-CBN’s The Filipino Channel (TFC).

He explains: "Our trip to the United States is not at all a competition with GMA 7 on the same level as the network war we have here in the Philippines. It isn’t like the two networks being in Cebu last summer, either. We are bringing the stars to Los Angeles to thank our loyal subscribers for supporting TFC for close to a decade, while the other network is just launching their channel in the United States."

Put simply, TFC has the advantage of a 10-year head start, which has earned them viewership in 160,000 households in California alone. And Remigio is quick to translate that figure into "viewers’ trust in TFC." He cites GMA 7’s previous but failed attempts in establishing a presence in the United States, which apparently, had disappointed the Filipino community there, just like the show cancellation in Los Angeles.

"I can honestly say TFC is not threatened by impending competition," Remigio continues. "We’ve always known competition is inevitable, but it doesn’t change the fact that we have already built a relationship with Filipinos around the world. They know they can rely on us to make them feel a little closer to home, be they in North America, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, Cambodia, American Samoa, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Gulf States, and even Europe and Australia."

And part of TFC’s service is continuously bringing the ABS-CBN stars to meet subscribers around the world. The "US Kapamilya Caravan" is just part of the network’s year long plan, which had already taken the likes of Randy Santiago, Rachelle Alejandro and Geneva Cruz among others to different parts of Asia, US and Europe.

"We’ve been doing shows like this for a long time because it is a way for us to show TFC subscribers that they’re important to us," he adds.

GMA 7, however, could argue that even with TFC’s head start, 160,000 households in California is just a drop in the bucket, considering the 2.5 million total of Filipinos residing in the United States. There certainly is plenty of room for PinoyTV to spread its wings.

But while Remigio acknowledges that fact, he goes on to relate TFC’s other achievements, including ongoing shows produced in the US for the US audience, and a forthcoming soap-opera project specifically for international viewers, as if to show that PinoyTV has a great deal of catching up to do.

Nevertheless, a network war on a global level can still ensue if GMA 7 wisely pours its resources into PinoyTV and works double time to challenge TFC. And while they will miss their chance at courting Los Angeles on July 16, they are set to conquer San Francisco on July 23 with the SOP PinoyTV Launch at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. But of course, TFC will be just around the corner guarding their territory as the "Kapamilya Caravan" moves to the Monster Park Fairgrounds on the same day.

Let the battle begin!

Eh medyo nagwawala na rin si nanay Lucing dahil gusto na sumama ng anak-anakan kay Allan.

Aba si Pet, ang lalaking nakipagkilala kay Edison sa mall niyaya pa siyang kumain ng merienda. Naku ha! At pumayag naman si Edison. Over food, nalaman ni Edison na magisa lang ang bagong kaibigan dito sa Pilipinas dahil ang mga magulang at kapatid nito ay nasa America. Teka teka mukhang bading nga ito, taliwas sa sinabi ni Edison na mabuti daw hindi naging bading ito.

Sinabi naman ni nanay Lucing kay Gigi na mahal niya ito, wag naman daw siya sumama kay Allan kasi maiiwan daw siya. Aalagaan pa rin niya si Gigi kaya tumahan na ang bata. Naligaw si Crising sa bahay ni aling Debra at anong nangyari dito? Parang wala ito sa tamang pagiisip! Nabaliw na ba ito dahil iniwan siya ni Alex?

Noong gabing iyon tinawagan ulit ni Gigi ang kaibigan sa telepono nila dahil nalulungkot siya. Si aling Pilar ang nakikinig sa kabilang lata, nangungulila rin sa anak na namatay. Nang naglalakad ang magsanggang dikit sa bahay narinig nila si Pepay at Enchang sa may bartolina at humanap ng paraan para mapakawalan sila! Kaya lang inabot sila ni aling Marian, anong mangyayari sa kanila ngayong nanlaban si Dodong kay aling Marian?

Habang nagwawala si Veronica ay nagalit si Lourdes! Hindi raw mababali ng "anak" ang kagustuhan niyang tumira si Fatima sa bahay nila. Don Fraincisco tries to explain to Veronica why Fatima has to go live in their house, makakatulong daw ito sa political plans niya. Hindi naman niya pala kailangan pakisamahan ang kuba. Hala naman!

Samantala si Pablo at Teresing inabot si Antonio na nagaattempt na tumawid sa ilog para mapuntahan ang anak niya. Nakakaawa naman si Antonio na nais lang naman na makita ang anak niya. Si Pablo nangakong sasamahan ang tiyo Pablo niya basta wag na sasabihin sa nanay niya para hindi sila matrouble. Aba si Teresing tinutukso ang anak niya na namimiss si Imang!

Fatima overhears Don Francisco and Martin talking, matatahimik na raw si Lourdes kasi andito na yung hinahanap niya. Mas maganda daw na ang katotohanan ay malapit sa kanya para hindi niya ito makita. Nagplan na tuloy si Martin at Sykharma kung paano nila mapapalayas si Fatima sa bahay na iyon. Kailangan daw mawala ang tiwala ng lahat pati na ni Lourdes sa kuba para umalis ito.

Nakipagkasundo ang tatlong madre sa dalawang ik-ik para malaman ang plano ni Martin laban kay Fatima, pumayag silang ibigay ang trono ng pagiging reyna basta tumupad lang sa usapan nila. Sa mansyon pinagpalit palit ni Sykharma ang mga gamot ni Lourdes para mapahamak si Fatima. Naku naipainom ni Fatima ang maling gamot kay Lourdes at nagkaroon ito ng allergic reaction sa gamot.

Samantala si Lucia naman nagaalaga din ng may sakit, si Dr. Clark. Nagpipilit itong ituloy ang paguwi nila sa Pilipinas, ayaw man ni Lucia dahil baka lalong humina ang asawa ay gusto naman ito ni Dr. Clark. Kung kaya't pumayag na din siya kahit natatakot na mawalan ng asawa! Nagwoworry si Luke para sa ama, pano raw sila ni Lucia kapag namatay ang ama?

Kinuha ni Nea ang perang iniwan ng ama sa kanya kahit na masakit ang mga pinagsasabi nito sa kanya. Kinailangan din ni Nea na ibenta yung pedicab niya kung kaya't malungkot din siyang nagpaalam dito bago ito ibinenta. Marami ring mga kaibigan ang nagabot ng tulong sa kanta kaya laking pasasalamat ni Nea sa kanila.

Samantalang si Jasmin naman namimiss ata si Oliver, andun siya sa harap ng locker at naghahanap ng note galing dito. Sa pagbukas niya nito, laking gulat niya ng may yellow na post it nga galing kay Oliver, hindi daw niya dapat mamiss ang kaibigan. Napakathoughtful naman! Nakiusap pala si Oliver kay River na magdikit ng Post Its para sa mga panahong wala daw siya.

Isang box ng Post Its ang iniwan ni Oliver kay River kung kaya't natouch naman ito ng husto sa ginawa nito. Mukhang naiinlove na nga si Jasmin sa kanya ah. Sa ospital naman tinatawag ni aling Elena ang pangalan ng bunsong anak habang natutulog siya. Kung kaya't pinuntahan ni Nea si Daisy sa eskwelahan nito at nang makita si Daisy ay niyakap niya ito.

Pero hindi daw siya si Daisy, yan ang sabi niya sa babaeng yumakap sa kanya. Pero tinakbuhan lang niya ito kahit na nagpakita ito ng lumang picture niya sa kanya. Ikinuwento na rin ni Nea ang totoong nangyari pero nagalit lang si Jasmin kasi hindi daw siya maniniwala sa mga sinasabi ng babaeng iyon. Pero lumuhod si Nea sa kapatid, pagbigyan nalang daw nito ang nanay niya kasi malubha na ang sakit nito. Papayag ba si Jasmin?

The Joke of the Day is how that television station announces that it delivers 24 hours of news but signs off at 130-AM. As if we consumers haven't gotten the hint, they announced during the days' news that they had just garnered an award for ETHICS. These guys, the guys who got an Ethics award, should start earning their award by starting their news show at the right time, 6PM and the late evening news never start on time. As in 40 minutes late is how late. Ethics my a**. What government agency is supposed to look after these guys? After all, both the giant networks do it. I guess that's "truth in advertising" Pinoy style, not to mention teaching young kids about how to be punctual.

I myself had this image in my mind of a murderer telling the victim's kin: "I did it, I am sorry for my lapse in judgment, let us put this behind us, I want you to contribute to my favorite charity." It was that surreal.

As I said before, there is a difference between Bill Clinton apologizing to the American people and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo apologizing to the Filipino people to stave off being ousted. Clinton merely broke his vows of marriage, Ms Arroyo broke her vow of office. Clinton merely cheated his wife, Ms Arroyo cheated the nation. Clinton merely screwed his apprentice, Ms Arroyo screwed the voters. Clinton is best punished by leaving him to tender mercies of Hilary, Ms Arroyo is not best punished by keeping her to the tender mercies of Mike, however cruel that punishment is.

Ms Arroyo has apologized to us and begged our forgiveness. Well, as Susan Roces says, if God can forgive, who are we not to? I myself have already forgiven Joseph Estrada even if he hasn't yet apologized and propose that he serve 20 years instead of 40.

I forgive President Arroyo, too, and propose that she and her husband occupy separate cells instead of one. <--- :glee:

Bank ATM's Converted to Steal IDs of Bank Customers

A team of organized criminals are installing equipment on legitimate bank ATM's in at least 2 regions to steal both the ATM card number and the PIN. The team sits nearby in a car receiving the information transmitted wirelessly over weekends and evenings from equipment they install on the front of the ATM (see photos). If you see an attachment like this, do not use the ATM and report it immediately to the bank using the 800 number or phone on the front of the ATM.

The equipment used to capture your ATM card number and PIN are cleverly disguised to look like normal ATM equipment. A "skimmer" is mounted to the front of the normal ATM card slot that reads the ATM card number and transmits it to the criminals sitting in a nearby car.

At the same time, a wireless camera is disguised to look like a leaflet holder and is mounted in a position to view ATM PIN entries.

The thieves copy the cards and use the PIN numbers to withdraw thousands from many accounts in a very short time directly from the bank ATM.

Don't be surprised if the showbiz career of Hero Angeles starts to slide down. The worst scenario started to happen when the teen-oriented program "SCQ Reload: Kilig Ako" where Hero was a regular, was axed. He is neither a participant in the Sunday variety show "ASAP Fanatic."

Hero, last year's grand winner in "Star Circle Quest," had it coming after filing libel charges against TV host and columnist Cristy Fermin.

It was a legal move but a drastic one which he, perhaps, didn't realize will have a bad effect on his career.

We can't exactly blame Hero who felt assasinated over a series of negative write-ups Fermin wrote. As the Tagalog saying goes, "napuno na ang salop."

This is the problem

when a newcomer who is a non-conformist like Hero gets thrown into showbiz arena where no basic formula is applied. At times the proper way is not exactly the right way in handling certain issues.

He may not be at war with the management and his complaints were directed to Ms. Fermin, But she happens to be a "kapamilya," and indirectly, Hero has already declared war with the company who is building him up.

An unsolicited advice is for Hero to settle the dispute not through legal means but through communications and we don't mean texting. Apparently, there was little of this in the past. Patching up will help "save" the career of Hero from zooming down. Win friends should be his guiding motto. Afterall, the people who used to back him up are not that cruel or heartless. (Or, if they are, Hero should know where he stands.)

Guard's death at MRT leaves hundreds stranded


Hundreds of Metro Rail Transit (MRT) commuters were stranded Wednesday morning after a security guard was hit and killed by a southbound train near Guadalupe station resulting in the delay of train's operations.

The fatality was identified as Simon Balukos, a roving security guard of MRT Guadalupe station.

DZMM reported that Balukos was doing a routine inspection on the station's platform at 5:30 a.m. when he slipped and fell into the train tracks. An oncoming train hit Balukos who died instantly.

Balukos body was brought to Veronica Funeral Homes in Pasay City.

The tragedy stopped MRT's operations for almost three hours. Operations returned to normal around 8 a.m. when the body was removed from the tracks.

Guard's death at MRT leaves hundreds stranded


Hundreds of Metro Rail Transit (MRT) commuters were stranded Wednesday morning after a security guard was hit and killed by a southbound train near Guadalupe station resulting in the delay of train's operations.

The fatality was identified as Simon Balukos, a roving security guard of MRT Guadalupe station.

DZMM reported that Balukos was doing a routine inspection on the station's platform at 5:30 a.m. when he slipped and fell into the train tracks. An oncoming train hit Balukos who died instantly.

Balukos body was brought to Veronica Funeral Homes in Pasay City.

The tragedy stopped MRT's operations for almost three hours. Operations returned to normal around 8 a.m. when the body was removed from the tracks.

ang alam ko nga possibel na makulng yung driver ng mrt.....kasi nakapatay ka eh

pero pag PNR train ang nakasagasa di yata nakukulong...ewan ko lang ha, kasi yung bayaw ng messenger namin nasagasaan sa riles ng Pandacan hindi man lang nakulong yung driver saka hindi pa sila binayaran kahit singkong duling nung driver at ng PNR....nakakaawa talaga :(
