How much of your SLs and VLs do you use?

Actually, in the 1.5 years I've been with my current company, I haven't gone on a VL ever.
as for my sick leaves, i was forced by my doctor to stay at home for 4 days when i once contracted some allergies.

Kayo, do you use your SLs and VLs?
Do you file an SL even if you're not really sick? (bad bad bad) :D

hindi masyado! syaang nga eh kasi di naman namin ma convert to cash lahat. pag nag SL naman ako, pagkabalik ko sa office lalo akong nagkakasakit sa dami ng natambak na trabaho even due to 1 day of absence sigh!!!

Are your unused SLs commutable to cash? If so, you shouldn't be using them too much. If you can get away with filing VL when you are sick, so much the better.

As for VL, if they are deferrable, then build up a reserve for a big vacation (such as a pseudo-sabbatical or a honeymoon). If they are not deferrable, then use them up, preferably in chunks rather than little pieces of one or two days.

in my case, my SLs are not convertible to cash, but my VLs are.
also, we get a Health Bonus based on the SLs we incurred for a fiscal year - a reason why most of the employees don't use their SLs much.

5 days lang ang convertible to cash. SL's are not. So I use all of them kasi benefit naman siya.

in the company where i am currently working...SL's and VL's are convertible to cash during december...so if you haven't use them for the whole year mejo malaki ang makukuha mo...we also have EL..pero di naman convertible un..kaya lang di ko naman nagagamit sayang din...


if you havent use your SL and VL's for the whole year..it would be multiplied to 150% times your current rate...kung may bawas man multiplies naman to 100% times your current rate din

unlike SLs which can be converted to cash at the end of the year, VLs should be consumed before the year ends. long VLs need to be approved pa muna bago magamit, so i tend to use them up one at a time since allowable naman.

We get 20 SLs and 20 VLs per year. 10 SLs are convertible to cash midyear. 10 VLs are converted end of year. SLs and VLs are carried over up to 20 of each less the conversion. The rest are forfeited.

I'd rather not go on SL unless I'm really, really sick. We've got a monthly health bonus kase. Sayang naman.

the reason why some employees don't use their use SL's is that, pagdating ng performance appraisal, isa un sa tinitingnan ng mga superiors...so if you don't have much SL's...chances are...mataas ang review mo, but of course it depends also on your overall aspects of your performance...but don't you think its unfair for some employees whose always on SL? eh di mo naman siguro kasalanan at di mo naman ginusto na mgkasakit di ba?...but some employees are too much, they're abusing it...they file SL kahit wala naman silang sakit.Some of their SL are planned already...like last time i heard one of my co-worker saying "...yehey! bukas sick leave ako" ...hmmmmn :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Para sa VLs, hangga't pwede, uubusin ko yan kahit patingi-tingi.
For SLs, I will never use it. That's already cash waiting for the maturity date. :) Knock on wood... huwag sana akong magkakasakit..

as much as possible i use up all my VLs for long vacations :D entitled ka naman dun eh. SLs naman---kung hindi malala lang ang sakit ko, id still go to work. sayang. convertible to cash yun *okay*

Our VLs and SLs are not convertible to cash. We also have our study leaves of up to 15 days for every actuarial exam we take during the year. Most of my VLs and SLs are either spent on reviewing or just plain lakwatcha. ;)

Our company doesn't follow the standard VL and SL system. What we have are PTOs (Paid Time Off). That means I have 20 PTOs regardless of whether I use them as VL or SL. In the four years that I've been working, I only used, at most, 10 of them. The other 10 are convertible to cash the following year.

hay naku....buti pa kayo may 15-20 days VL or SL kami eh 6 days incentive leave ang with pay lang.....the rest of the leave without pay na....yung SL eh kailangan pa namin i-file sa SSS para mabayaran.....

Well VL's are convertible to cash but if you don't use at least 15 days every year, you lose it. I get 26 days of VL every year.

As for SL's, non convertible, I get 15 days. I've used a couple because weather change wrecks havoc on my immune system. I hate the 4 seasons sigh...

Bakit dito sa company namin.. 5 days SL, 5 days VL lang per year?? tama ba un? if you reach 3 years in the company, you get 10 SL's and VL's..

we have 5 days SL, 15 days VL (30 pag more than 3 years ka na). not counted ang weekends as part of a continous VL. so its like taking 3 weeks off.
we also have what they call 4 personal days which we could also use. and aside from that there are a bunch of others.

I just used up all of my VLs in one setting, which is going back there. the rest of those entitled leave, meron pa naman na tira. :D

just a little compensation for a stressful job all year round.

dont work too hard...binigay yang VL and SL para i-enjoy or gamitin nyo for that purpose......wag puro pera *** iniisip nyo...di rin kayo magiging productive kung sobrang stressed na kayo sa work......hehehe!

I have 20 VLs for this year.Right now I have 18 plotted VLs, but I'm going to give up 3 of them around december kase you can carry 5 VLs for the following year.

We have 15 SLs but I haven't used any of them yet kase di pa naman ako nagkakasakit and convertible to cash siya:p

Only SLs are convertible to cash, you'll be forced to take a break kapag nde mo naubos. Pero till March of next year mo pa naman pwede gamitin e. Yung SLs, wala, bihira sa amin ang hindi nagkakasakit. Unless your workaholic. :D
