Many of the deaths from diarrhea in the Philippines are in young children who have severe diarrhea - eg. cholera, typhoid, shigella etc. - who do not get adequate rehydration. I guess this makes it more tragic.

To summarize, the top killers are heart disease, lung disease, infectious disease, stroke, cancer and accidents.

My grandfather used to say,"dead people
died because they ran out of breath".That
still make sense to me.

Hey, good to see you here, JD.

I say death anywhere is due to two major causes...total heart failure and respiratory failure. Anybody wanna bet otherwise?

I'd have to say traffic and looking for parking in megamall on weekends. It's bad for your health. Seriously. :)

YES, WICKWATER, SMOKING and all the other unhealthy lifestyles contribute a lot to the development of the #1 cause of death - heart diseases! SO TO ALL SMOKERS, STOP SMOKING and have pity on the ones who love you who you'll eventually leave behind!

It has to be stupidity. I have read somewhere (and have observed) that stupidity ranks as the highest leading cause of death here in the Philippines. No need to explain here--just have to watch TV or read the newspaper and see for yourself.

Eterna: i guess youd be waiting for that dat 4ever. Stupidity cant be cured by other people. You (the stupid person) can be the only one to cure it yourself. Besides its not really a disease or something that can be cured by a doctor or someone. Its your choice that made you stupid. If you didnt choose to be stupid then u wont be stupid. and dont tell me that stupid people cant help to be stupid. Do you believe that stupid reply? Nah!!!
